LOST IN SPACE, #43 Mugs, Cannonball, Furiosa & Columbo!!
Super Saturday and WELCOME TO AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE DAILY!! Hope your weekend goes SWELL! Tomorrow we’ve got a NEW SKETCH, but today… we’re hittin’ it outta the Universe with LOST IN SPACE, LINCOLNS, FURIOSA & CANNONBALL!! DID YOU KNOW?? The original LOST IN SPACE series ran from 1965 to 1968 and produced 83 episodes. The first season was in black and white and used props and monsters from other Irwin Allen shows!!
For example, a Sea Monster outfit from “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea” was used in Lost in Space.
The original series also used Bernard Herrmann’s score from “The Day the Earth Stood Still” (1951) for the pilot and much of season one!! Zoinks!

Richard Petty won the Daytona 500 seven times, in 1964, 1966, 1971, 1973, 1974, 1979, and 1981… won the Most Popular Driver award nine times, was the first stock car racer to win a million dollars in a season 1971 and was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2010. Other than that… he’s a pretty good Moonshiner.

BOB’S BIG BOY, Roadmaster, Rock Hudson, Jurassic & Chitty!
Good morning folks and WELCOME TO AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE DAILY! Some brand new coolness today as Fireball just completed a Commission for a client in GIG HARBOR! Today… it’s a BOB’S BIG BOY SEMI!! What a fun piece of nostalgic history and this dood actually drove this Truck for Bob’s! And now, it’s emblazoned in the Fireball Garage for all to enjoy! Check it out NOW!!
DID YOU KNOW?? Bob Wian accidentally invented the Double-Deck Hamburger when he cut a hamburger bun in half and added two patties. Wian called a young boy “Big Boy” and the name stuck. (I’m sure some people would think that’s inappropriate now, but whatever…) The Burbank location restaurant was designed by Wayne McAllister and features a 70-foot neon sign and they have a plaque commemorating the “Beatles Booth” where the band ate in 1965!!

Dean bought his Lil’ Bastard a week before his fatal crash in 1955, and it was Porsche’s most sought-after sports racer at the time.
Dean gave the car the nickname “Little Bastard” and wrote the letters on the back of the car himself. The car’s transaxle was the only known remaining part of the car and it sold in 2021 for a whopping $387,000!!

Welcome to AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE DAILY! Hope you guys had an amazing weekend! Let’s Rock the Week and start with a Steve McQueen JAG, James Bond ASTON and INDY Rickshaw Cart MASTERPRINTS!! Three of our favorite cars and a Hell-Lotta ACTION! Has Fireball done YOUR favorite Movie or TV Car yet?? CHECK THE GARAGE and SEARCH it out!
DID YOU KNOW?? The iconic boulder chase scene from “Raiders of the Lost Ark” that rolled towards Harrison Ford was actually made of fiberglass, making it lighter than it appeared, and the famous “grinding” sound of the boulder was created by recording the sound of a car’s tires rolling on gravel while the sound designers were leaving the set in a car;they simply captured the sound on a microphone. The scene was shot twice, each from five different angles. Doing the math, Harrison Ford had to outrun that boulder ten times.
Also in today’s “I HATE SNAKES” BLAST… Fireball scoots the PV Concours with CLASSICS, features buddy Scotty macGregor and his TOW MATER and drives THE JEEP OF DEATH with buddy Vladi Delsoglio! Also, Actor RAY LIOTTA cruises past this Mopar from WHAT FILM? A Custom-Built Hot Wheels RED BARON and WHEELS & WAVES is THIS SUNDAY!!

DID YOU KNOW?? The interior of Herbie was painted a non-reflective gray so that studio lights and cameras wouldn’t reflect off of it. And the standard 40 horsepower engine in the VW 1200cc was not powerful enough for Herbie to look believable in racing scenes… so they sped up the film! Silly Disney folks… And Director Angela Robinson left hidden crew equipment and cheap camera tricks in the film to entertain fans! Go back and WATCH!

GORT, Gilligan, Flintstones, Celebs, Car Shows & The Future!
Welcome to AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE DAILY!! The week is wrapping up and the question still remains… ARE ALIENS REAL? Well, maybe yes, maybe no… but Fireball’s GORT MASTERPRINT might just be the next best thing! And should Fireball do the Spaceship from THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL? We think so…
DID YOU KNOW?? The spaceship design from the film was inspired by architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s 1939 Johnson Wax Headquarters, the character Klaatu’s name is a subtle Christ analogy, the iconic line “Klaatu barada nikto” was actually a made-up alien phrase, and the film’s original title was “Farewell to the Master.” Based on a short story, it was adapted for the movie and was heavily influenced by the anxieties of the Cold War era regarding nuclear weapons, with the alien visitor essentially acting as a warning against human destruction.
