iPhone 15 Plus vs Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus: Who did it better?

Apple went all in on the announcement for the iPhone 15 series, but can it stack up to what’s already on the market?

The Apple Wonderlust event brought a lot of new hardware to the forefront. Most notably, the iPhone series has been expanded to include the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and the flagship iPhone 15 Pro Max.

With a brand new batch of Apple handsets released into the wild, it’s worth checking if they can actually compete with what’s already on the market.

We’re going to be running through all the key differences you might not know about between the iPhone 15 Plus and Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus so you can decide whether you go Android or iOS.

The S23 Plus has the iPhone 15 Plus beat on refresh rate

Apple decked out the iPhone 15 Plus with an impressive 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, with a 2796×1290 resolution. It comes with Dynamic Island – previously featured on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max – which gives surface-level information about your device, replacing the notch at the top of the screen.

Samsung opted to use a smaller, 6.6-inch panel. It comes with Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology and has a Full HD+ (2340×1080) resolution. Using the S23 Plus in bright situations was perfectly doable and we were able to zip through apps without any stuttering.

The biggest difference is that while the S23 Plus is able to ramp its refresh rate up to 120Hz, the iPhone 15 Plus remains locked to 60Hz.

If you want an in-depth look at how these two chipsets differ, then take a look at our dedicated explainer, but we will be going over some of the key points here. As with most things Apple, the A16 Bionic is an exclusive chipset, only featured on the iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max and now the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.

The A16 Bionic comes with a 6-core CPU and 5-core GPU. Apple claims that this chip benefits from 50% more memory bandwidth. It is built on a 4nm process node, allowing for 16 billion transistors to be crammed in it.

Qualcomm packed out the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with the Adreno GPU, which enables support for Unreal Engine 5 and photorealistic human characters with Metahuman. From our experience, both chips can handle graphically intensive workloads, like gaming, and breeze through day-to-day tasks, making them both capable options.

Both have lots of megapixels to play with

One of the biggest gripes we had with the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus was the basic 12MP main camera. Thankfully, Apple seems to have learnt from this mistake, as both new handsets come with an impressive 48-megapixel main sensor alongside a 12MP telephoto lens.

Samsung went even further with the Galaxy S23 Plus, decking it out with a 50MP main sensor, 10MP telephoto lens and 12MP ultrawide sensor. Overall, we found that all cameras performed very well during use, although each camera did work best when used in lighter situations as the image quality tended to fade when it was too dark.

Something we all saw coming was the switchover from Lightning cables to USB-C; due to a new law implemented by the EU with the aim of reducing waste, Apple has been forced to shun its exclusive charging solution in favour of a more traditional approach.

The Galaxy S23 Plus also uses USB-C. Compared to Lightning, USB-C is a lot more convenient and comes with much faster data transfer times, which will make both handsets even more powerful.

Armed Man With US Marshal’s Badge and Federal ID Arrested at Robert F. Kennedy Jr Appearance in Los Angeles After Trying to Infiltrate Security | The Gateway Pundit

An armed man who was wearing a U.S. Marshal’s badge and carrying federal ID who claimed to be part of the security detail for Democrat presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was arrested Friday afternoon at an appearance in Los Angeles by Kennedy. No shots were fired in the incident.

The arrest was first reported by Breitbart News and later confirmed on X-Twitter by Kennedy who noted he is still being denied Secret Service protection by Joe Biden. Kennedy’s father Sen. Robert F. Kennedy (D-NY) and uncle President John F. Kennedy were both shot and killed by assassins in Los Angeles in 1968 and in Dallas in 1963, respectively. Kennedy has voiced concerns this year that his father and uncle were killed by elements of the U.S. government.

Kennedy posted a photo of the man who was arrested:

“I’m very grateful that alert and fast-acting protectors from Gavin de Becker and Associates (GDBA) spotted and detained an armed man who attempted to approach me at my Hispanic Heritage speech at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles tonight. The man, wearing two shoulder holsters with loaded pistols and spare ammunition magazines was carrying a U.S. Marshal badge on a lanyard and beltclip federal ID. He identified himself as a member of my security detail. Armed GDBA team members moved quickly to isolate and detain the man until LAPD arrived to make the arrest. I’m also grateful to LAPD for its rapid response.

“I’m still entertaining a hope that President Biden will allow me Secret Service protection. I am the first presidential candidate in history to whom the White House has denied a request for protection.”

EXCLUSIVE: Armed Man Arrested at Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Event in L.A.https://t.co/5z4Vr64mrW

— Robert F. Kennedy Jr (@RobertKennedyJr) September 16, 2023

Excerpt from the Breitbart report:

According to sources, the man arrived at the event and claimed to be employed by the organizers. Campaign security officials, however, did not recognize him, and detained him until police arrived.

The man was found to be carrying a handgun and ammunition. He will likely face charges of impersonating a police officer or federal agent, and possibly unlawful possession of firearms, according to Breitbart News sources.

The Epoch Times also claimed an exclusive on the story (excerpt):

The Los Angeles Police Department told The Epoch Times it received a call at around 4:30 p.m. reporting that a male was in front of the event venue with “a badge on their lapel, a gun, and a shoulder holster, and claimed to be a U.S. Marshall.”

A spokesperson for Mr. Kennedy Jr. confirmed the incident to The Epoch Times. Mr. Kennedy Jr. had not arrived at the venue yet when the incident occurred.

According to the LAPD, the man reportedly claimed to be employed for the event, but he wasn’t recognized by the security staff.

A written note provided by an LAPD officer on the scene to a representative of the campaign states: “Male imp. fed. agent w/ handgun and ammo exposed.

“Claimed to be employed for event, but wasn’t recognized by sec,” the note which was obtained by The Epoch Times reads.

The Spectre Fold is HP’s cool new 17-inch foldable

HP has announced the Spectre Fold, a thin, foldable 17-inch laptop that sports an exciting design reminiscent of Asus’s recent Zenbook 17 Fold OLED.

Foldable phones have been becoming more and more mainstream, and we’re starting to see more and more foldable laptops start to drop over time. HP has recently announced its Spectre Fold, a 17-inch OLED laptop that can fold in half.

What’s more is that the Spectre Fold clocks in at under 3lbs, which is fairly impressive for such a large laptop. How does it all work? Well, laid flat, you’ve got a 17-inch tablet. With the kickstand engaged and a keyboard, you’ve got a portable PC. You can also fold this machine at a 90-degree angle and connect a keyboard to its bottom half to turn it into a clamshell laptop.

If that futuristic design isn’t enough for you, you’re also getting an Intel Core i7-1250U CPU, 16GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and a 1920×2560 OLED display. HP also claims that this laptop is expected to get up to 12hrs of battery life, too. Although, the question becomes whether or not the intriguing foldable design and these specs are worth its $5,000 starting price.

HP Spectre

If HP is able to deliver on battery life, the attachable keyboard feels comfortable to use, and there aren’t any major concerns when it comes to reliability with the foldable design, this could definitely be a worthy computer to show off to your friends and family, but that $5,000 pricetag will still be tough to swallow.

Nonetheless, there’s no denying that the Spectre Fold is a supremely cool device. There’s a certain magic to computers you can twist and shape with your hands like clay, especially when they’re paired with premium hardware. Hopefully, in the years to come, we’ll see foldable machines at more approachable pricepoints.

If you’ve got the cash, though, you can pre-order yours today, and the Spectre Fold is expected to be available in limited quantities starting in October.

Joe Biden Ignores Reporters Pleading with Him to Answer Questions on Hunter Indictment (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit

Joe Biden ignored questions on his son Hunter’s indictment after he delivered remarks on his failed economic agenda dubbed “Bidenomics” at Prince George’s Community College in Largo, Maryland.

Hunter Biden was indicted on federal gun charges on Thursday.

Hunter Biden was indicted in a Delaware court on three counts related to his possession of a firearm while using drugs.

“Two of the counts carry a maximum prison sentence of 10 years, while the third has a maximum of five years,” NBC News reported.

Special Counsel Dave Weiss indicted Hunter Biden after the sweetheart plea deal fell apart last month.

Hunter Biden was charged with “one count of False Statement in Purchase of a Firearm, one count of False Statement Related to Information Required to be Kept By Federal Firearms Licensed Dealer, and one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Person who is an Unlawful User of or Addicted to a Controlled Substance.” ABC News reported.

Joe Biden delivered remarks in Maryland shortly after his son was charged by the special counsel.

After he lost a couple of battles with his teleprompter, Joe Biden told the press he can’t take any questions because he will get in trouble.

“I wish I had a chance to take all your questions but I’m gonna get in real trouble if I do that,” Biden said before wandering off stage.

Biden mingled with the crowd and ignored questions about his son Hunter’s charges.

“Mr. President, any reaction to Hunter being indicted!? Mr. President!” a reporter shouted.

Biden ignored the reporter as his handlers shooed away the press.

Get the Pixel 7a with 100GB of data for just £19.95 a month

Diving a little more into the specifics, the Edge 40 Neo is built to be easily portable while still looking and feeling like a premium smartphone, so you’ll get a slim 7.76mm body on top of curved edges for a nice, modern look. Thanks to hardy construction and IP68 water resistance – a rarity for the price – you won’t have to worry about getting it wet either.

It also boasts three Pantone-certified finishes, continuing Motorola’s partnership with the company that started with the Edge 30 Neo in 2022. The new Black Beauty, Soothing Sea and Caneel Bay colourways, the latter two with vegan leather finishes, certainly stand out from the crowd.

When it comes to hardware, aspiring photographers won’t be disappointed by its primary 50MP Ultra Pixel camera with instant all-pixel focus tech and 40% larger pixels than its predecessor to deliver improved low-light performance, with Motorola claiming it can take low-light photos up to 16 times faster than its predecessor.

On top of all that, the Edge 40 Neo is the first Motorola device to leverage Lenovo’s CO2 offset services to reduce emissions across its lifecycle. You’re also getting a 100% plant-based case that still looks as fashionable as ever.

For gamers, you’re getting a rapid 144Hz pOLED display with 10-bit colour support and 1300 nits of peak brightness. To power everything, you’ll find a Dimensity 7030 under the hood, and when it comes to connectivity, you will get to enjoy 5G support. Connecting it all together is a fairly stock iteration of Android 13, which itself offers a wide range of useful software and security features.

And, despite the £299 price tag, the Edge 40 Neo supports rapid 68W fast charging tech and comes with a fast charger in the box.

If you’re ready to get your hands on one, the good news is that the Edge 40 Neo is still quite an affordable smartphone, coming in at a rather competitive £299.99, and it’s available to buy today in the UK and Europe. Head on over to Motorola’s website for more information.

Soccer Player, Rocker, Economist, Libertarian: Tucker Interviews Argentinian Presidential Favorite Javier Milei – ‘I won’t do business with any communist!’ | The Gateway Pundit

Tucker Carlson, in his page on X (formerly Twitter), interviewed the frontrunner in the run for President of Argentina, a country ravaged by hyperinflation and other leftist malaises thanks to the Peronists in power with Alberto Fernandez and Christina Kirchner.

Amid promises of dollarizing the economy and rejection of any alliance with Communist China or Globalist entities, Milei turned into the man all the MSM loves to hate.

— Tucker Carlson (@TuckerCarlson) September 14, 2023

In a country ‘in shambles’, a former soccer player who sang in a rock band and turned economist may be the solution.

Some excepts by Milei:

‘Argentina is a country that has embraced socialist ideas. The rebellion always comes from the youth, and the youth found in me someone who spoke about free market, against the status quo.’

On Abortion:

‘As a libertarian, we have unrestricted respect for the lives of others, rooted in the spirit of non-aggression, and in defense of life, liberty and property.’

Pope Francis:

‘The Pope plays politics. He has a strong political influence. And he has shown a great affinity fro dictators like Castro and Maduro.’

On Communism:

‘Not only will I not do business with China, I won’t do business with any communist!’

Motorola Edge 40 Neo vs Google Pixel 7a: Which is best?

The Motorola Edge 40 Neo is the latest in Motorola’s growing roster of stylish Edge-branded smartphones, complete with stunning Pantone-certified finishes and impressive specs. The question is, how does it compare to one of our favourite mid-rangers, the Google Pixel 7a?

While we’re yet to fully review the Motorola Edge 40 Neo, we have had the chance to go hands-on with the smartphone ahead of its launch, and we’ve extensively reviewed the Google Pixel 7a

With that in mind, here are some of the biggest differences between the two smartphones to help you decide which is the best for your needs – and you might be pleasantly surprised by what we’ve found so far.

The Motorola Edge 40 Neo has a bigger, faster display

The Google Pixel 7a saw the long-awaited upgrade from a slow 60Hz to a faster 90Hz display, though it’s still behind the 120Hz offered by much of the competition – and that includes the Motorola Edge 40 Neo.

Not only does the Motorola Edge 40 Neo have a larger display than the Google Pixel 7a, measuring in at 6.5 inches and 6.1 inches respectively, but it’s faster than much of the similarly priced competition at a whopping 144Hz – perfect for gaming. The pOLED also has impressively slim bezels for the price point, along with support for Dolby Atmos for HDR viewing.

Motorola Edge 40 Neo displayImage Credit (Trusted Reviews)

That’s not to say the 6.1-inch panel of the Pixel 7a is disappointing, but it does lack certain features like Dolby Atmos support, although it does match the Edge 40 Neo’s 1300nits peak brightness.

The Google Pixel 7a has a flagship-level processor

One of the Google Pixel 7a’s big plus points is its processor, sporting the same flagship-level Tensor G2 chipset as the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. However, unlike the competing Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Google’s chipset isn’t focused on pure processing power but on AI smarts.

That allows the Google Pixel 7a to perform some pretty cool photography trickery – more on that in a bit – as well as a bunch of AI-powered features through its stock Android 13 OS.

This comes in various forms, but one of our favourites is Now Playing, a feature that intelligently identifies background music during your day and lists them in a dedicated app, allowing you to easily expand your music collection.

Google Pixel 7a front menu androidGoogle Pixel 7a front menu androidImage Credit (Trusted Reviews)

The Motorola Edge 40 Neo, on the other hand, boasts Qualcomm’s mid-range Snapdragon 695 5G. It’s not the newest chipset by any means – it was the same chipset on last year’s Edge 30 Neo – but it does match much of the similarly priced competition.

We’ve not yet had a chance to benchmark it just yet, but during our short hands-on time, we didn’t notice any signs of lag or stuttering when swiping around the OS and opening apps.

The Motorola Edge 40 Neo has better colourways

Motorola’s partnership with colour experts Pantone has exploded over the past year. It all started with the release of the Motorola Edge 30 Neo last September, which came in four Pantone-certified colours – Veri Peri, Aqua Foam, Black Onyx and Ice Palace.

It has since expanded to other smartphones including the flagship Razr 40 Ultra, available in Pantone’s Viva Magenta – its colour of the year for 2023.

Motorola Edge 40 Neo in its three finishesMotorola Edge 40 Neo in its three finishesImage Credit (Trusted Reviews)

That trend continues with the new Motorola Edge 40 Neo, again available in a slew of stunning Pantone-certified finishes including Black Beauty, Caneel Bay and a gorgeously vibrant shade of blue dubbed Soothing Sea that instantly caught our eye during the phone’s pre-briefing ahead of launch.

If you want a phone that truly stands out from the crowd, the Edge 40 Neo is the way forward.

That’s not to say the Pixel 7a doesn’t have tempting colour finishes with pastel-inspired Coral and Sea hues alongside its darker Charcoal finish, but it’s not quite as show-stopping as what the Edge 40 Neo offers.

The Google Pixel 7a has AI-infused camera tech

The Motorola Edge 40 Neo might have a strong dual-camera setup with a 50MP Ultra Pixel OIS-enabled main sensor and a 13MP ultrawide that doubles up as a macro lens, but the Google Pixel 7a has a trick up its sleeve in the form of AI.

The AI focus of the Tensor G2 chipset mentioned earlier allows the Google Pixel 7a to do some pretty cool stuff when it comes to mobile photography. Not only did we find the Pixel 7a could deliver exceptional results both in well-lit and low-light environments with accurate skin tones, but additional modes like Super Res Zoom really push what the Pixel 7a can do.

Google Pixel 7a front standing upGoogle Pixel 7a front standing upImage Credit (Trusted Reviews)

What’s more, the image quality was consistent across its main 64MP and 13MP ultrawide sensors.

That also extends to the phone’s Photos app, which includes a handful of AI-powered features like background object removal in the form of Magic Eraser, and it can unblur blurry photos too.

We’ll be interested to see how the Edge 40 Neo compares, but it seems the Pixel 7a has the upper hand in the photography department.

The Motorola Edge 40 Neo is quite a bit cheaper

Despite the various edges the Motorola Edge 40 Neo has over the Google Pixel 7a, the Edge 40 Neo comes in at a much cheaper price point. More specifically, the Motorola Edge 40 Neo has an RRP of just £299 in the UK – £150 less than Google’s £449 Pixel 7a. That’s seriously good value for money.

The Motorola Edge 40 Neo is available to buy now from Motorola following its announcement, while you can buy the Google Pixel 7a from various retailers following its release earlier this year.

O’Keefe Goes Undercover in Lahaina; Maui Law Enforcement Tells Journalists Governor Has Prohibited Photography on Public Land Near Burn Zone (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit

O’Keefe Media Group went undercover in Maui this week to check out the burn zone after wildfires destroyed Lahaina.

In early August 2023 a wild fire ripped across Maui. Hundreds were lost in the fire or are still missing.

A recent report from the Hawaii State Department of Education shows that there are more than 2,000 children who are unaccounted for in the public school system.

They’re still digging up charred corpses in the ashes.

James O’Keefe and a few of his journalists went to Lahaina to see what is going on at the burn zone.

Maui police and sheriffs told OMG journalists that Hawaii’s Democrat Governor Josh Green has prohibited photography on public land.

Officers told O’Keefe he would be arrested if he took photographs of the burn zone.

“OMG files lawsuit against Hawaii Gov to invalidate the criminalization of protected First Amendment activity and to also strip Maui County of any ability to criminally charge anyone who exercises their First Amendment rights,” O’Keefe said.

AmazonSave 23%Now £99.99

View Deal

This is for a 20,000mAh portable charger with an impressive 200W output. This means that you could use the battery pack to recharge your new iPhone 15 (or any other smartphone for that matter) completely four to six times over, or even initiate a couple of full laptop charges.

Those charging speeds mean that you could charge a MacBook Pro 16-inch to 50% in just 40 minutes. It’s speedy alright.

The Anker Prime Power Bank also features a smart digital display to tell you how much juice it’s got left, while connectivity is hnadled by two USB-C ports and one USB-A port. You could potentially charge two premium laptops simultaneously at full speed.

An ability to recharge the Power Bank itself at 100W means that you can juice it back up to full capacity in just 1 hour 15 minutes.

All this, and it measures a mere 126.9 x 54.6 × 49.6mm, so it’ll slip into your work bag without issue. It weighs 540g, which is roughly equivalent to three smartphones.

All in all, this is great accessory to take without regardless of your set-up. It can potentially keep your laptop and smartphone topped up, and that of a friend’s too. And if you do buy a new iPhone 15, you won’t even need to carry a separate charging cable around for your new phone. Bliss.

Biden Has People in Cages at the Border – Where’s the Democrat Outrage? | The Gateway Pundit

Do you remember all the Democrats shrieking about kids in cages during the 2020 election? It was repeated by Biden, his supporters and people in media over and over again. A constant drum beat.

Here’s the harsh truth. They don’t care. They didn’t care then and they don’t care now.

It was nothing more than a line of attack against Trump. How do we know this? Simple. There are people being held in cages at the border right now under Biden and none of the Democrats are saying anything about it.

Townhall reports:

Call AOC! Biden’s Cages Are Back at the Border

The Tucson Sector along the U.S.-Mexico border continues to be slammed with illegal immigrants, straining resources in a part of the country that typically sees more gotaways than people claiming asylum.

As a result, almost no Border Patrol agents are actively patrolling the southern border because they are having to quickly process and release the thousands of illegal immigrants to get out of their facilities. Pictures and videos have emerged once again of illegal immigrants being held behind crowded fencing outdoors, which previously caused outrage from Democrats and their allies in the mainstream media.

AOC actually called this ‘concentration camps’ under Trump. Now? Silence.

They never cared. It was just about them pretending to be morally superior.
