There Might Not Be Any Presidential Debates in 2024

Major party presidential debates have been a significant part of elections in the United States for over a half century, but this wasn’t always the case.
In the antebellum era and for many years after, the average person experienced a campaign more through political cartoons, newspapers, and word of mouth.
In the 2024 presidential election, we may once again see a campaign with no debates between the main candidates.

So far, neither major party has committed to the traditional debates, held by the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD). In fact, former President Trump hasn’t even shown up for any primary debates.
At least among many conservatives, there doesn’t seem to be any benefit for Republican candidates at these events, since they are forced to debate both their Democrat opponent and biased, left-wing media.
The Hill’s Ben Voth writes of this situation:
The problems with moderators are two-fold. First, journalists have come to occupy a prominent argumentative position in the debates. In the 1990s, journalist moderators would occupy roughly 5 percent of the speaking time in debates. In the most recent series, moderator Chris Wallace consumed more than 25 percent of the speaking time.
There are no established limits for moderator monologues about politics to which candidates are expected to respond. Secondly, journalist moderators indicate a pattern of favoritism toward the Democratic nominee. At times, the reactionary behaviors of moderators have allowed Democratic candidates to receive more speaking time, as they did in most debates prior to 2016 or resulted in the removal of moderators who actively coordinated hostile questions for the Republican candidate. Currently, the RNC requires that its ultimate nominee for 2024 refuse to cooperate with or attend the CPD events in 2024.

Reading that, it sounds like one side gets the benefit of a tag-team partner, and the other side doesn’t. So why play a rigged game?
How can voters decide if there are no debates?
PRESIDENTIAL DEBATES: It is time to scrap ‘journalist-driven’ debates. Moderators should be seen and not heard only keeping the clock. Instead we should us the time-tested Lincoln-Douglas format:

The Hill op-ed noted that in one of the most famous television presidential debates in history, between Republican nominee Richard Nixon and Democratic nominee John F. Kennedy in 1960, both men had eight-minute opening remarks.
“Typically response times today are two minutes or less, while journalist vigorously criticize such limited presentations as ‘lacking context,” Voth wrote.
While some Republican presidential primary debates have already taken place, the prospect of Joe Biden and Donald Trump – the two likeliest nominees at the moment of the Democratic and Republican parties – not debating is unthinkable.
How can voters make informed decisions without hearing what each man has to say?
Or better yet, what they can more easily hide by not being challenged?
Democracies, even republican democracies like our own, require debate.
Let’s hope presidential debates are a tradition that continues.

US congressional committee raises security concerns over Chinese LiDAR devices
A U.S. congressional committee, led by Representative Mike Gallagher, has raised concerns about the potential national security risks posed by Chinese-made Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) devices, according to a recent report in The Register. The committee has requested an investigation into Chinese LiDAR manufacturers and the possibility of imposing sanctions on these entities.
LiDAR technology, crucial in autonomous systems and robotics, is currently not subject to U.S. export controls or government procurement restrictions. Furthermore, the committee has linked LiDAR technology to human rights abuses in China, particularly in the surveillance of the Uyghur population. This association adds another layer of concern to the use of Chinese LiDAR technology.

Elon Musk Tells Advertisers ‘Go F*** Yourself’ For Trying To ‘Blackmail’ X Into Censorship

Elon Musk, the CEO of X (formerly known as Twitter), had some harsh criticism for advertisers pulling their money from the social media platform.
While he admits an ongoing advertiser boycott could ultimately “kill the company,” it’s clear the billionaire tech mogul isn’t willing to pull any punches in placating those seeking to crush free speech.
“What this advertising boycott is going to do is, it is going to kill the company,” Musk said on Wednesday during an interview at the New York Times Dealbook Summit. “And the whole world will know that those advertisers killed the company.”
The boycott has been the result of a two-pronged issue for Musk – one, a controversial post in which he endorsed what critics described as an anti-Semitic post, and two, a smear campaign by Media Matters which used manipulated data to portray X as associating with “white nationalists.”
The latter led to Musk launching what he deemed a “thermonuclear lawsuit” and prompted multiple states to launch their own investigations into the left-wing group.

Musk to Advertisers – Go F*** Yourself, Am I Clear?Musk was highly critical of the advertiser boycott during Wednesday’s interview, saving a particularly high level of vitriol for Disney CEO Bob Iger.
Iger, who spoke at the same forum earlier in the day, explained why the company that has been at the front of the woke/weak culture wars decided to flee X.
“We know that Elon is larger than life in many respects, and that his name is very much connected to the companies he founded or owns,” he explained. “By him taking the position he took in a public manner, we felt that the association was not necessarily a positive one for us.”
Disney has seen revenue floundering for multiple consecutive quarters. They continue to battle a public perception of being associated with those seeking to “sexualize children.”
Perhaps Iger should worry about that.

Musk publicly called out Iger in a well-warranted vicious verbal beatdown.
“Don’t advertise. If someone is going to try and blackmail me with advertising? Blackmail me with money? Go f*** yourself,” Musk fumed.
The stunned reaction from host and New York Times columnist Andrew Ross Sorkin, along with the muted response from the crown in attendance, is a thing of beauty. Just a work of art on how you deal with financial terrorists.
“Go f*** yourself, is that clear? Hey Bob, if you’re in the audience. That’s how I feel, don’t advertise,” he concluded.

While it’s clear that Musk is positioning himself as an unapologetic free speech warrior – perhaps the only one who has control of a major social media platform – it doesn’t make him infallible.
As for the matter pertaining to his controversial post, Musk expressed regret for having engaged in the narrative.
“I handed a loaded gun to those who hate me,” he said.
The X CEO stated that it was “one of the most foolish” things he has posted. He then referred to Sorkin as “Jonathan” in an effort to show that everybody makes mistakes from time to time.
“What I am trying to illustrate is that, sometimes I say the wrong thing,” Musk said.
Musk isn’t wrong, however, when he tells the advertisers to go pound sand.
Advertisers have used the almighty dollar to stifle speech and censor those they disagree with, or as a pathetic means to placate marginal groups and lure them in to purchase their woke products.
Look at all the money they pour into Pride Month advertising. If you were a store that so much as hinted you opposed such advertising based on religious beliefs, they’d yank their money away immediately.
It’s blatant discrimination.
Would these companies appreciate it if Musk in turn organized a boycott of their products? Give them the ol’ Bud Light treatment? Where does it end?

Breaking: Terror Attack in Jerusalem Kills Three Israelis; Two Gunmen Reported to be Members of Hamas Killed After Shooting Israelis at a Bus Stop (Video) | The Gateway Pundit
A terror attack in Jerusalem Thursday morning killed at least three Israelis waiting at a bus stop and wounded eleven more. The two gunmen, reported to be Israeli Arabs, were in turn shot and killed by an off-duty soldier who had just returned from fighting Hamas in Gaza. The terrorists have been identified by the Israeli government as two brothers who were members of Hamas and had previously been jailed on terrorism charges. The attack came after an extension was announced of the ceasefire for hostages for another day by Israel and Hamas as the sides negotiated another round of hostage and prisoner swaps.

There are reports an armed citizen and another off-duty soldier also engaged the terrorists.
The terrorists pulled up to the bus stop in a car and exited, then opened fire. After shooting at the Israelis at the bus stop for several seconds, the two terrorists tried to return to their car when they were confronted and killed by the off-duty Israeli soldier. Other Israelis can also be seen responding with the off-duty soldier then frantically identifying himself to avoid friendly fire.
Two videos have been released. The sound of gunfire can be heard in one video. In the other the attack can be seen from beginning to end.

Amazon Q: New generative AI-powered assistant for work
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced a new generative artificial intelligence (AI) chat tool named Amazon Q for businesses.
The major announcement at AWS re:Invent – the annual event for the Amazon subsidiary’s cloud computing services – is a clear response to competitors already in the chatbot space. Amazon Q is an AI-powered assistant designed specifically for work. Imagine ChatGPT if it had access to your company’s files and could use its data. The assistant aims to provide fast, tailored answers to queries, assist in content generation, and facilitate actions based on a company’s data and expertise.
Unveiled in the keynote address by AWS CEO Adam Selipsky during the Las Vegas conference on Tuesday (Nov, 28), Amazon Q will give staff the ability to ask questions related to work tasks. Such as ‘what are the most recent performance results?’, ‘what are the company guidelines around marketing content?’, or request insights into company data. Instead of employees manually searching through numerous documents, Q will quickly retrieve the information needed.
AI chatbots exploded into the public consciousness in November 2022 when ChatGPT went live. The large language model (LLM) chatbot from OpenAI has sparked a surge in AI product development and a highly competitive market as new and established technology companies battle to make inroads into the nascent sector. Amazon will join other Big Tech players like Microsoft and Google in the space.
What can Amazon Q do?Q will “empower employees to get answers to questions”, Amazon said in a statement.
Using 17 years of AWS knowledge and data as training, Amazon Q will let developers and IT workers build, deploy, and operate applications on AWS. This means (in theory) it can do a lot of the heavy lifting on coding projects and allow for much of the workflow to be automated.
The chatbot can be integrated to generate a web application that employees can access through existing authentication systems, ensuring personalized and secure interactions. From there, using business data Q will in theory be able to answer a huge range of questions related to the business.
There’s a personalization aspect too. Interactions are based on users’ roles, identities, and permissions within the organization. Users can access Amazon Q through the AWS Management Console, company documentation pages, developer environments like Slack, and other third-party applications.
Pricing for Amazon Q in Connect starts at $40 per month. The technology is available for preview now and users can try Amazon Q in Connect “for no charge until March 1, 2024.”

O’Keefe Media Group went undercover in Fresno County, California to report on the Chinese-funded bio lab in Reedley.
On March 3, an illegal bio lab was discovered in a believed-to-be vacant building in Reedley, California in Fresno County.
City code enforcement stumbled upon the building in December 2022 when they discovered a garden hose running up into the building through a hole in the wall. In March, they obtained a warrant to inspect the property, and in April, the Fresno County Department of Public Health ordered an inspection of the facility.
The company alleged to be running the lab, Prestige BioTech, is based out of Nevada and is the successor to Universal Meditech, Inc (UMI). In Dec. 2022, the FDA announced a recall over 56,000 “Skippack Medical Lab” Rapid Anti-Gen COVID-19 tests distributed by UMI to California and Texas.
The Environmental Health Inspector conducted onsite visits and noted numerous violations, according to Judicial Watch: failing to prepare and implement a hazardous materials business plan (HMBP) for storage of hazmat (ethanol) over state thresholds.
Judicial Watch also uncovered court documents that include graphic photos of dead mice at the Reedley facility.
Daniel Sepulveda, US Congressional staffer to Jim Costa admitted the illegal Chinese biolab posed a grave risk to public health and national security. Asked if his boss thought the lab endangered public safety.
“Yes, he does,” Sepulveda stated into a button cameras:
“I saw they had a secret recording the Lab Owner saying he was doing it to benefit the Chinese government”
“I knew months before anybody else did”
“How many other people are creating labs within the United States?”
”There could be more,” he said.

AMD opens huge design centre in India
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has opened its largest global design center in India.
The state-of-the-art campus in the city of Bengaluru will employ around 3,000 engineers in the coming years and focus on the design and development of AMD’s semiconductor technology including 3D stacking, artificial intelligence (AI) and more. This significant initiative, known as the AMD Technostar campus, is part of the company’s substantial $400 million investment in India over the next five years, reports The Times of India.
The move to what is known as ‘India’s Silicon Valley’ from the American semiconductor company comes amid ongoing expansion of India’s tech sector.
The campus was inaugurated by Ashwini Vaishnaw, India’s minister for railways, telecommunications, electronics and information technology. AMD executive leaders including Mark Papermaster, the Californian firm’s chief technology officer also attended.
“We are very focused on bringing high-performance designs that can help our customers be much more efficient in computing so that, they can get the job done by spending less money and burning less power,” Papermaster told local media.
India tech sector growthThe world’s most populous country is poised for explosive growth in the coming decades thanks to an enormous pool of young talent, recent success in 5G roll-out and the government’s focus on enabling and predictable policies.
This abundance of skilled and English-speaking talent has led India to become the third largest start-up destination in the world. It has witnessed significant growth, particularly post-pandemic. with over 99,000 start-ups in India as of 31 May 2023. This has helped pull companies like Apple and AMD to the nation’s tech hubs. The surge in internet users, projected to hit 900 million by 2025, up from 759 million in 2022, is largely driven by the increasing adoption in rural areas, contributing significantly to the expansion of the technology industry.
