Senate Democrats To Break Tommy Tuberville’s Military Promotions Blockade
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has announced that the Rules Committee has acted on a bipartisan resolution that will allow 350 military promotions currently being blocked by Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) to be confirmed.
Schumer posted a Dear Colleague letter to Twitter:
The Rules Committee acted on a resolution that would allow the Senate to quickly confirm the more than 350 military nominations being blocked by Sen. Tuberville.
I will bring it to the floor so we can swiftly confirm these highly qualified and dedicated military leaders. pic.twitter.com/Qw1zfVaI8H
— Chuck Schumer (@SenSchumer) November 27, 2023
Schumer said that the Democratic Senate majority will need bipartisan help to get the military promotions confirmed but that the hundreds of promotions should be done before the end of the year. Sen. Tuberville has staged his blockade over the military policy of paying for servicemembers to travel to receive reproductive healthcare. The blockade has backfired as Tuberville has been called an un-American by military families, but Senate Republican leadership has been unwilling to step in and put heavy pressure on Tuberville to his damaging campaign against American national security.
However, the dam finally broke weeks ago when a group of Republican Senators took to the floor to blast Tuberville for hours, and attempt to pass military promotions by unanimous consent. Tuberville withstood the criticism and blocked every attempted promotion, but the writing was on the wall.
By the end of the year, Tuberville’s blockade will be crushed, but Republicans will not be able to erase the stain caused by the Alabama senator’s actions.

The Apple Pencil has never been cheaper thanks to Black Friday sale
The Apple Pencil is an excellent companion to the iPad, allowing you to sketch out your own creations with ease. Apple rarely offers a discount on its stylus, and yet Amazon has chopped a significant 36% off the price for the Black Friday sale.
Amazon is currently offering the Apple Pencil for just £89, which is an absolute bargain. Normally, you’d have to pay as much as £139 for the accessory, so you’re making a huge £50 if you buy it in the Black Friday sale.
Save 36% on the Apple Pencil 2 this Black Friday
Amazon is selling the Apple Pencil 2 at an all-time low discount of 36% this Black Friday.
Amazon36% savingNow £89This is the second (and latest) Apple Pencil that Apple released, arriving back in 2018 alongside the third-generation iPad Pro. Key improvements over the first generation Apple Pencil include wireless charging rather than the original’s unwieldy Lightning connector. Just stick it to the side of the iPad using in-built magnets.
You also get a new touch sensitive area just above the tip, so you can quickly double-tap to jump from your pen to an eraser without touching the screen.
Interestingly, while Apple recently announced a third Apple Pencil to the range, it’s inferior to this 2nd generation product in several key ways. It lacks the Apple Pencil 2’s pen pressure sensitivity, touch-sensitive areas, and magnetic charging capability.
This, then, is still the ultimate Apple stylus product, which makes this chunky discount all the more appealing.
We reviewed the Apple Pencil 2 back when the iPad Pro (3rd generation) launched, and called it “an excellent stylus” with “virtually no lag when you’re drawing or writing”. It’s a sketcher’s or scribbler’s delight.
In short, this is still the ultimate Apple Pencil to buy if you’re shopping around for a cut price deal this Black Friday.

Woman Charged With Murder After Giving Gun to Her Mother With Dementia, Encouraging Her to Commit Suicide | The Gateway Pundit
An Oklahoma woman has been charged with murder after she gave a gun to her mother with dementia, who used it to commit suicide.
Jaye Dee Watts, 44, has been charged with felony murder by a caretaker and kidnapping in the death of her mother, Lynda Watts, 72.

The Oklahoma City Police Department said that Jaye Dee Watts “intentionally provided a firearm to the victim, which prompted the victim to take her own life.”
Dillon Quirk with OKC police told local station KOCO that the daughter “suggested that she take her own life, and very sadly, she did.”
Police also obtained Ring camera footage from inside the home. The video showed Jaye Dee berating her mother, calling her a toddler, and telling her to “take your pill or choke on it and die,” according to the report.
After leaving the room, she soon returned with a handgun and showed her mother how to remove it from the holster. She then told her, “Do with it what you will.”
“Jay Dee then came back with a drill, telling her mom she was going to lock her in her bedroom. Moments later, police said Lynda fired two shots and killed herself,” the report says.
The daughter turned herself into police after a warrant was issued. She was later released on $1 million bond.

Breville Barista Pro Espresso Machine: We Tried It

I’m not by any measure a coffee expert. But, thanks to a recent purchase that has elevated my morning brew, I now feel like one. What changed my coffee game so drastically? The Breville Barista Pro Espresso Machine (originally $850, now $680). Since I’ve had it, the necessary task of making coffee is now an enjoyable hobby that jumpstarts my mornings.
In This Article

02
Sure, there are plenty of easier—and less expensive—methods to brew a good cup of coffee at home, from the straightforward French press to set-it-and-forget-it drip machines, many of which I’ve used in the past. Wonderful as they were, the opportunity arose (a sale!) to purchase an at-home espresso machine, so I sprung for the Barista Pro, a machine that has received high praise by many coffee lovers—including W+G editors. While it isn’t the cheapest coffee maker on the market, it’s proven to be well worth the cost. This machine is entirely responsible for curbing my $18-a-week coffee habit—and it makes cafe-worthy cups at home.
Breville, Barista Pro Espresso Machine — $680.00
Originally $850, now $680
Available in four different colors.
Comes with equipment and accessories Has a built-in conical burr grinder User-friendly interface Attractive design Involves a learning curve Pricey compared to other home-brewing coffee methods How the Breville Barista Pro Espresso Machine worksThe Breville Barista Pro is equipped with all you need to start making espresso. It has a built-in conical burr grinder that grinds coffee as coarsely or as finely as you like, as well as a potent steam wand and a hot-water dispenser. Plus, it comes with all the necessary accouterments, including:
A 53-millimeter portafilterSingle- and double-walled filtersA Razor Precision dose trimming toolA tamperA 480-millimeter milk jugMaking espresso is a multistep process, and though this might not appeal to busy coffee lovers, I’ve found it to be enjoyably ritualistic. It involves grinding the coffee beans into the portafilter, leveling and hand-tamping the grounds, locking the portafilter into the machine, and pulling a shot. And, whenever I’m in the mood for a latte, I top off my drink with a layer of milky foam using the steam wand (which, by the way, also dispenses hot water for tea or Americanos).
The front face of the machine has three buttons—a power button, one to brew on shot, one for two shots, and a “menu” button, where you can access the machine settings and customize the size of your espresso shots. There is also a tiny push-button dial that allows you to select from the various options on the menu or customize your amount of grinds (which is measured in seconds). On either side of the machine are two larger dials—one to select the coarseness or fineness of your grind and the other to operate the steam wand.
My thoughts about the Breville Barista Pro Espresso Machine

I used the Barista Pro as soon as it was out of the box, and it was easy to set up after parsing the user manual and watching a few YouTube videos. More importantly, I’ve found it easy to operate, thanks to its user-friendly interface—and that’s coming from a novice barista like me.
Using the Brevelle Barista ProOperating the machine becomes a seamless experience—after some trial and error and a number of practice shots. There is a learning curve, and that’s to be expected with most espresso machines (save for super-automatic options and espresso pod machines that do all the work for you). Once I learned the appropriate grind amount and size for my beans and mastered the art of tampering down my grounds, I managed to reliably pull robust-tasting shots, replete with a luscious golden cream, morning after bleary-eyed morning. The best part? It takes me no more than 6 minutes. I’ve also used my machine to make Americanos and foamy lattes. And, though my latte art leaves much to be desired, the taste was close to that of those made by the true barista pros in my neighborhood cafes.
Cleaning the machineMaintaining the machine between uses is fairly easy. If anything, you’ll have to refill the water tank every once in a while—and clean the machine less often—but not so much that it becomes burdensome. There’s even a red “Empty Me!” tab that pops up to remind me to empty the drip tray when it’s full. These small details all add up to make this machine a pleasure to use. (It doesn’t hurt that it looks attractive sitting on my countertop, too.)
AccessoriesWhat I will say that there are extra accessories that have further improved the quality of my espresso shots—a small scale to weigh my coffee grounds and shots as they emerged; a WDT tool to evenly distribute the coffee grounds in the portafilter; and a separate tamper that has come recommended by several online coffee experts—all of which came at a small added cost. (I told you, it’s become a hobby!)
Indeed, having an espresso machine involves a commitment. But if you’ve come to love the taste of good espresso and have been wanting to learn to make them at home, now is prime time for spring for an espresso machine of your own. The Breville Barista Pro Espresso Machine is $170 off on Amazon for Black Friday— trust, the dividends will pay off down the line.

Climate Change ‘Activist’ Greta Thunberg Attends Ugly Anti-Israel Rally Chanting ‘Crush Zionism’ (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit
Greta Thunberg has shown in recent months that her ‘climate change activism’ is not really what she’s all about in the end.
The truth is that Thunberg is your average, run-of-the-mill, America and Israel hating left wing communist who wants the same things radical leftists in America want.
She was just seen at an ugly anti-Israel rally in Amsterdam. This is who she is.
RedState reports:
WATCH: Greta Thunberg Takes the Mask Off Fully, as She Chants to ‘Crush Zionism’ at Disturbing Rally
The left has pushed forward Greta Thunberg for years now, to tout their climate change agenda. You weren’t allowed to criticize her, according to them, because she was a teen. Yet they still wanted you to accept what this child, who had no scientific background, was saying. And because it was about pushing the agenda wrapped in a package, you weren’t supposed to criticize or point out any problems.
But now with the Israeli-Hamas war, some are seeing another side to Greta, who has become very involved with the anti-Israel movement
First, she was embroiled in an antisemitism scandal over having an octopus — an antisemitic trope — on her shoulder, while she held a sign urging people to “Stand with Gaza.” She claimed that she hadn’t intended it that way, and that it was something to help with her autism.
Then as she was speaking at a climate event in Amsterdam, she tried to make it an anti-Israel event, wearing a keffiyeh and asking two activists up onstage. A man who thought he was there for a climate demonstration tried to intervene and bring people back to the subject, and he was dragged off the stage. “No climate justice on occupied land,” Greta continued to chant, unconcerned about how the man had been treated.

Hamas was the aggressor but these idiots act like they are the victims. And our media holds up Greta as if she was some sort of role model for kids.
