4 Myths About Seed Oils and Inflammation To Stop Believing
Whether from social media, magazines, or TV shows, you may have heard that seed oils are bad, bad, bad. (There’s always a food to demonize, it seems like.) Some people claim that there are harmful ties between seed oils and inflammation, gut health, general health, and so on.
But a lot of that information is misleading, according to nutrition experts. It’s either myths or half-truths with missing pieces. Plus, inflammation isn’t as bad as it’s often portrayed to be; in fact, exercise leads to short-term inflammation. Plus, we have to keep in mind how “inflammation” is a buzzword that’s often used to encourage anti-fat bias.
But back to seed oils! The beloved ingredient isn’t one you need to completely forgo. According to dietitians, there are a few more entires into the list of anti-inflammatory diet myths that need to be added when it comes to seed oils.
Myth 1: Seed oils are bad for your heartWhen discussing seed oils and inflammation concerns, heart health concerns arise, too. According to the American Heart Association, there’s no proof inflammation is a direct cause of cardiovascular disease, but it is common among patients who have heart disease or a stroke. Does this mean seed oils are bad for your heart?

Actually, quite the opposite. “Seed oils like flaxseed, chia seed, and hemp seed oil are rich in omega-3 fatty acids,” says Catherine Gervacio, RD, registered dietitian and nutrition writer. “These are essential for our bodies and are important for brain function, heart health, and reducing inflammation.” Add pumpkin seed oil and sesame seed oil to the list as well.
The types of fat in seed oils help, too. “Seed oils are sources of polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats, [which] have been found to offer benefits for heart health, such as reducing LDL, ‘bad,’ cholesterol levels,” adds Danielle Smith, RDN, LDN, a registered dietitian nutritionist with Top Nutrition Coaching.
Myth 2: Since seed oils are high in omega-6, they’re universally pro-inflammatoryThis statement is a simplification, according to Smith. While it’s true that omega-6 fatty acids are considered pro-inflammatory, some research findings indicate that increased consumption of omega-6 fats does not appear to correlate with heightened inflammatory responses in the body. “It’s more about the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids in the diet and ensuring adequate intake of both,” she says. When you consumer higher ratios of the former than the latter is when inflammation can arise.
Let’s also not forget that omega-6 fatty acids are an essential nutrient to incorporate, especially given “our body needs them for proper function but can’t produce them on its own,” Smith continues.
It’s also important to note that the idea that one dietary change can keep inflammation away is a myth. Stress management, for example, is also important.
Myth 3: Seed oils are toxicThis myth leaves out a lot of context. “The concern arises when oils are used past their expiration date or if they’re improperly stored, leading to rancidity,” Gervacio says. “Seed oils that are properly processed and stored are generally safe for consumption.”
More specifically, Gervacio recommends using fresh, high-quality oils and storing them in a cool, dark place. Furthermore, Smith encourages opting for cold-pressed versions of oils so they retain more of their nutrients.
Along the lines of the latter, seed oils are not only safe, but can be health-promoting. “In fact, many seed oils are rich in essential nutrients such as vitamin E, which acts as a powerful antioxidant,” Smith adds. And antioxidants can reduce inflammation.
For example, black seed oil is high in antioxidants (and also fights inflammation, lowers cholesterol levels, contains fatty acids your body needs, and more).
Myth 4: Seed oils affect everyone the same wayTo be clear, seed oils can have inflammatory effects, Gervacio notes, but only if consumed in excess. Smith agrees, adding it depends on a person’s general health, too. “The inflammatory potential of these oils may be more pronounced in individuals with certain health conditions,” she says, sharing examples such as metabolic syndrome and inflammatory diseases.
So yes, when it comes to seed oils and inflammation, we’ve got another case of “look at health advice with a critical eye.”

While speaking in Iowa, Donald Trump urged his supporters to go to cities like Detroit and Philadelphia and intimidate non-white voters.

Trump is broadcasting to the entire nation what he is going to do to steal the 2024 election. Trump is going to try to stop Democratic voters from voting with intimidation and threats of violence. Attorney General Merrick Garland should be at the ready to provide election monitors to cities around the country, and potentially prosecute Trump supporters who attempt to make the election unsafe for voters in American cities.
Donald Trump isn’t hiding his authoritarian intentions. All the American people have to do is listen, and Trump will tell them exactly what he intends to do.

UFC Legend Conor McGregor Being Investigated for ‘Hate Speech’ After Irish School Stabbing

Ultimate Fighting Championship legend Conor McGregor is apparently under investigation in Ireland for social media comments he made about the recent riots in Dublin that erupted after five people were stabbed, three of them children.
The riots appeared to unfold after there were rumors that the attacker was a foreign national. The nationality of the suspect has still not been made public by Irish officials.
McGregor did not champion or defend the rioters, but did criticize his country’s immigration policies and safety policies, and demanded change.

More than 400 officers, including many in riot gear, were deployed throughout the city center to contain the violence.”
The police and Irish media, as seen above in Garda commissioner Harris’ comments, blamed the the events that unfolded on “the far right wing.”
According to The Times, McGregor’s social media posts are being investigated for possibly running afoul of Ireland’s hate speech laws.

Thursday’s rioting came amid rising tensions over immigration in Ireland that mirror trends in other parts of Europe. Earlier this year, people carrying signs reading “Ireland is full” demonstrated in Dublin, and protesters blockaded a hotel housing immigrants in County Clare on the west coast.
Ireland received more than 141,000 immigrants in the 12 months through April, the highest total since 2007, the latest government statistics show. The influx of migrants drove an 11.7% increase in Ireland’s population over the past 11 years, contributing to a steady increase in housing prices.
Much of Europe has instituted hate speech laws. In the United States, most speech, including what might be called hate speech, is protected under the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass users get 14 new games in December
Subscribers to the Xbox Game Pass service are in for a Christmas treat, as Microsoft has announced a list of 14 games coming to the service in December.
The software giant revealed on Thursday 14 new titles across its Core, Console, PC, and Ultimate subscription plans. Two games will be available on the Core platform, 11 on Cloud, eight on Console, and 12 on PC. The news comes just a day after we reported, the Xbox franchise is expected to overtake PlayStation when it comes to gaming revenue.
In July this year, Microsoft revealed it would expand its Core library. The catalog now boasts several highly popular games, such as Remnant, Remnant II, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Far Cry 6. Here is a comprehensive list of the newly added titles:

House Oversight Committee Rejects Hunter Biden’s Request to Testify Publicly: ‘Trying to Play by His Own Rules’

The House Oversight Committee rejected a bid by Hunter Biden to testify before Congress in public, saying that they expect “full cooperation” with their original demand for a private deposition.
The panel suggests the President’s son can offer public testimony further down the line. This comes after they issued a subpoena earlier this month for him, the President’s brother James Biden, and former Hunter business associate Rob Walker.
“Hunter Biden is trying to play by his own rules instead of following the rules required of everyone else. That won’t stand with House Republicans,” committee chairman James Comer (R-KY) said on Tuesday.
Abbe Lowell, an attorney for Biden, suggested that his client would testify publicly in an effort to combat selective leaks and so-called misinformation by the committee. An astounding assumption, critics might say, considering the constant selective leaks Democrats engaged in with the Russia collusion and January 6th committee investigative panels over the last several years.
“We have seen you use closed-door sessions to manipulate, even distort the facts and misinform the public,” Lowell said in a letter to Comer. “We therefore propose opening the door.”

Hunter Biden Wants To Testify In PublicFox News contributor Emily Compagno suggested that Hunter wants to testify in public in an effort to portray himself as the “victim” of the hearings.
“I think it is the continued seeking attention and the fact that he perceives himself as the ultimate victim,” Compagno said during Tuesday’s episode of Outnumbered.
She also alleged Hunter has a history of trying to excuse his immoral and illegal behavior because he wants the “world to please have pity on him because of a certain habit.”
Fox News host Sean Hannity also blasted the First Son for what he called an attempt to “dodge a subpoena.”
“If you or I would receive a subpoena from Congress, we would be forced to comply or we would be facing possible jail time, but Hunter seems to think he’s above the law,” he told viewers.

Democrats Suddenly Big Fans Of Public TestimonyWhile conservative critics contend that Hunter is trying to dodge a subpoena by demanding he be allowed to testify publicly, the President’s son’s legal team recently filed a motion requesting to subpoena former President Donald Trump for his ongoing criminal gun case.
Would his team support Trump testifying in a public setting for that case? Based on past reactions, it seems unlikely.
We know members of the January 6th committee vehemently opposed a public deposition for Trump when he made such a request in 2022.
At the time, the former congresswoman Liz Cheney dismissed the possibility of live public testimony by Trump, insisting that the highly partisan panel wouldn’t allow him to turn the proceedings into a circus.
Oddly enough, another member of that panel now believes that refusing to allow Hunter to testify in public shows the House Oversight Committee is afraid of what might come out.
House Oversight Committee ranking member Jamie Raskin (D-MD) thinks Comer’s rejection of the request is “an epic humiliation.”
“Let me get this straight,” a statement from Raskin reads. “After wailing and moaning for ten months about Hunter Biden and alluding to some vast unproven family conspiracy, after sending Hunter Biden a subpoena to appear and testify, Chairman [Comer] and the Oversight Republicans now reject his offer to appear before the full Committee and the eyes of the world and to answer any questions that they pose?”
Raskin contends that House Republicans are admitting that they “have no confidence in their own case.”
It should be noted that in addition to refusing to allow Trump to testify publicly, the January 6th committee at the direction of then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) refused to allow panel members on board who might offer a contradictory view of the events of that day and make the investigation truly bipartisan.
By Raskin’s own measure, they were clearly not confident in their case.

Xbox mobile gaming store to go toe-to-toe with Apple
In a move where the only surprise should be it has taken this long, it seems Microsoft is finally positioning itself to unleash an Xbox mobile gaming store into the wild.
Apple has long held the market monopoly, much to the concerns of the regulators, and with the new European Union’s Digital Markets Act starting to flex its muscle by adding the App Store to its new digital antitrust list, the app landscape might shortly have to undergo some seismic changes and Microsoft is ready to act.
Bloomberg reports Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, said recently at the CCXP Convention in Sao Paulo, “It’s an important part of our strategy and something we are actively working on today, not only alone but talking to other partners who’d also like to see more choice for how they can monetize on the phone.”
While that comment doesn’t definitively state that a Game Pass for mobile is imminent, Spencer did go on to say, “I don’t think this is multiple years away, I think this is sooner than that”.
Microsoft’s Game Pass subscription service has proved a huge success with its monthly influx of new titles players have access to for a set monthly fee. Indeed, the service has already announced the arrival of 14 new games in December alone.
Any launch of a new mobile gaming store will have hurdles to clear however – Apple currently does not allow any competing app stores on its iOS platforms and, as Epic argued against in its long-running Fortnite lawsuit, the Cupertino giant takes a sizeable 30% cut from most purchases.
Microsoft recently completed its much-vaunted acquisition of Activision Blizzard and its huge IPs Call of Duty Mobile and Candy Crush, strengthening its mobile offering overnight. Now it seems as though it is ready to enter the fray itself, backed by its new additions, even though it has already confirmed that Activision Blizzard titles will not be coming to the regular Game Pass in the near future.
Keeping Xbox RelevantMicrosoft already has a cloud gaming offering as part of Game Pass Ultimate that allows subscribers to stream many of the games on offer to mobile devices, and the ease with which you can add your standard controller to your phone or tablet offers to possibility of changing screens to play your favorite titles as you go about your day.
Spencer is keen however to make sure that in terms of the available technology, Xbox keeps pace with its rivals in the long term, commenting, “We’ve talked about choice, and today on your mobile phones, you don’t have a choice,’’ Spencer said. “To make sure that Xbox is not only relevant today but for the next 10, 20 years, we’re going to have to be strong across many screens.”
It seems the battle lines are about to be drawn.

Journalist Glenn Greenwald Mocks CNN Reporter For ‘Exclusive’ Report On Liz Cheney’s Book: ‘Thinks He’s Going To Win A Pulitzer’

CNN on Tuesday ran an “exclusive” report involving excerpts from Liz Cheney’s new book that they “obtained” on Tuesday, prompting mockery from Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Glenn Greenwald.
The network announced several excerpts from the book had been perused by a collaboration of reporters, one of which, Jeremy Herb, posted tidbits on the X social media platform.
“Liz Cheney takes on McCarthy, Johnson and the GOP in her new book obtained by CNN, condemning her former colleagues and party leaders as ‘enablers and collaborators’ of Trump,” announced Herb. “Lots of new behind-the-scenes details.”
Greenwald suggested that Cheney, a frequent guest of CNN since becoming a media darling through her rabid opposition to former President Donald Trump, likely just gave them the book to read in advance.
“Congrats on this unbelievable, groundbreaking scoop and the dangers and risks you had to face to obtain it,” he quipped.
Added Greenwald, “He thinks he’s going to win a Pulitzer, or become some brave journalistic icon, for agreeing to do PR work for Liz Cheney and her publisher.”

Cheney’s Book Has Some Incredible ClaimsAside from the general tenor of the book being that of “Trump is bad” and “Republicans who support him hate democracy” – basically Liz Cheney’s entire platform since January 6th – CNN offers very little in the way of ‘groundbreaking’ news.
In fact, the very first big scoop in Herb’s social media postings is a story relayed by Cheney that left several followers rather skeptical of its accuracy.
According to CNN, one of the big takeaways is a conversation between Cheney and Representative Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), the former being upset with the latter over a photo-op he had with Trump just weeks after January 6th.
“Mar-a-Lago? What the hell, Kevin?” Cheney allegedly asked.
“They’re really worried,” McCarthy replied. “Trump’s not eating, so they asked me to come see him.”
“What? You went to Mar-a-Lago because Trump’s not eating?” Cheney continued with McCarthy responding, “Yeah, he’s really depressed.”

The media and Democrats have engaged in an unceasing effort to portray Trump as a traitor to the country and the juiciest tidbit, the lead “notable detail” from CNN’s reporter, is that he was hungry.
Does a visual of Trump pop into your head of him poking around at his taco bowl with a fork and sighing repeatedly under any circumstances?
“CNN is acting like they got a great scoop because Liz Cheney gave them her new anti-GOP book,” Greenwald commented. “She chose CNN because she knows it’s dumb liberals who will buy this.”
Numerous comments in response to Herb’s post suggest the conversation that Cheney claims to have taken place about Trump being depressed and hungry was fabricated. Whether it was Cheney or McCarthy behind the story remains to be seen.
“Yeah, nah, that didn’t happen,” one person wrote.

Cheney Identifies Who Called Trump ‘Orange Jesus’Another big scoop from the CNN report in Liz Cheney’s book is a comment from a House Republican who allegedly referred to Trump as “orange Jesus.”
This is something only CNN, their viewers, and Cheney would find newsworthy because it is most likely how they refer to Trump behind closed doors.
Cheney claimed last September that a fellow House member called Trump “the orange Jesus” on January 6th. In her book, she reveals that the person was Republican Congressman Mark Green of Tennessee.
“As he moved down the line, signing his name to the pieces of paper, Green said sheepishly to no one in particular, ‘The things we do for the Orange Jesus,’” she wrote.
Cheney notes a scene from the morning of 1/6, when her colleagues were signing state objection letters.

Cheney’s book is titled “Oath and Honor,” one which she broke, the other she lost.
It falls in line with her colleague and fellow former lawmaker Adam Kinzinger, who view themselves as being saviors of the Republic as they continue to misidentify their ongoing mental struggles.

GTA VI trailer incoming – Rockstar ready to break the internet
After almost a decade, the gaming world is about to get a look at the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI and rarely has a video game event been so eagerly awaited.
2023 has seen some huge releases with a new Zelda game, Baldur’s Gate 3, and Starfield – but none will be able to match the anticipation and pulling power surrounding the latest game in Rockstar Games’ crime saga, even though there is no sign of a release date at this stage.
Reportedly taking place around Miami and Florida, Trailer 1 is likely to be the first of many before we actually get to the game’s release date. It is also entirely possible we won’t learn that much from this initial tease.
After confirmation of the latest game in the series, Rockstar’s Sam Houser set X alight at the beginning of November when he teased that early December would see the release of the first GTA VI trailer and that promise has now been confirmed with a simple image, also on X from the publisher, which has already garnered seven million views in the first half hour.

The good news is that you won’t have long to wait, with the date now seemingly set in stone for December 5th at 9 AM ET. There are no further indications yet as to where the premiere will take place online, but if you thought getting tickets for Taylor Swift was difficult, this event might also bring your ISP to its knees.
At this stage, Rockstar hasn’t even confirmed the game will be called GTA VI (or GTA 6) but they are unlikely to swerve from the branding of one of the world’s largest gaming IPs. With that in mind, we may at least be treated to the logo on the 5th as well as the digitized views over Miami.
How many did GTA V sell?Statista reports that in the last decade, Grand Theft Auto V sold an astonishing 190 million units across all formats. On top of that the spend on in-game currency takes the franchise worth to an estimated eight and a half billion dollars.
The GTA franchise continues to reach new audiences and Netflix recently announced it was bringing Grand Theft Auto – The Trilogy to its subscribers.

Report: Border Patrol Apprehended 21 Child Sex Predators In Under Two Months At One Texas Sector Alone

Acting Chief Patrol Agent of the Del Rio sector, Juan Bernal announced over the weekend that nearly two dozen child sex predators had been apprehended at one border sector alone in under two months.
Bernal posted mugshots of 21 individuals who were apprehended at the Del Rio sector since the start of the fiscal year on October 1st.
“In less than two months, Del Rio Sector agents have apprehended 21 convicted sex offenders attempting to enter the country illegally,” he shared on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Due to the hard work and dedication of our agents, these dangerous individuals were not able to enter our country.”
The Border Patrol poster accompanying his post indicates that the criminals arrested have been accused of wide-ranging heinous crimes against children – including rape, sexual assault, and sodomy of minors.

21 Child Sex Predators Apprehended At The Border
News that 21 child sex predators had been apprehended at one border location alone in just weeks left social media users aghast.
“21 in about two months in one sector,” wrote Legal Insurrection journalist Mary Chastain. “Geez.”
“They purposely put American citizens and our children in grave danger,” added former congressional candidate Liz Joy.

Others openly wondered: If 21 were caught at the border, how many managed to escape?
“And how many weren’t caught? This is a historical dereliction of duty by our President,” seethed Texas congressman Dan Crenshaw (R).

Indeed, the Biden administration has allowed upwards of 2 million “gotaways” to vanish into the country since the President took office by some estimates.
You don’t have to take our word for it being a staggering number of people who have gotten away. Even DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas admitted that over 600,000 illegal “gotaways” have escaped into the country this fiscal year alone.
If they caught 21 child sex predators at one location alone in under two months, how many of the 600,000 that got away this past year were also predators? Probably more than you’d like to know.

Representative Chip Roy (R-TX) blasted Democrats for not taking border safety seriously and putting the American people – and their children – at risk.
“And Democrats dismiss concern about migrant-magnet policies as ‘crocodile tears,’” he scoffed.
News of the 21 child sex predators being apprehended at one singular location at the border comes just weeks after eight Republicans joined Democrats in killing a motion to pursue impeachment of Mayorkas.
Mayorkas, critics contend, has overseen the worst crisis at the border that this nation has ever seen.
