Idaho Statesman Gives 5-Star Review to Love Without End

Love Without End got a very nice 5 out of 5 review from the Idaho Statesman in this morning’s paper. Just had to share. (Click on the image for a larger version.)

I love that the reviewer is hopingfor more contemporary romances from me because that is exactlywhat is in store for readersin the next year (and most likely beyond). My favorite quote: “[Hatcher’s] gift for drawing sympathetic characters facing real-life problems brings encouragement to her readers who face the same fears and troubl...

How I Make Goodreads Work For Me

In my annual year-endpost, I mentioned how much I enjoy Goodreads and added that I don’tuse it for social media purposes but for my own pleasure. A readerasked for more information on how I use Goodreads. So here goes:

I have both fans and friends who follow me on Goodreads, as is common on all social media sites, but I don’t encourageinteraction with others on this site as I do on Facebook. I’m not unfriendly. I just don’t go seeking conversations. If someone sen...

2014 Year End Reflections & My Word for 2015

I look forward to these year end reflections. Of course, this year I started doing monthly wrap-ups, so perhaps it will feel a little repetitive. I hope not. They aren’t the same.

My Word for 2014: MANIFEST

I don’t believe I began to even scratch the surface of understanding God’s manifestation of Himself in me and all that it means. I feel as if my life was out-of-control busy, and so I never felt as aware of achieving my goal in this regardas I would like to have been.

Movie Review: The Hundred-Foot Journey

I finally got the chance to seeThe Hundred-Foot Journey (a movie based on anovel of the same name). It released in August 2014. The big name star isHelen Mirren, and she iswonderful in her part, as usual.

Movie Review: Unbroken

unbrokenJerry and I returned a short while ago from seeing the first showing ofUnbroken. Oh my word. An amazing film about an amazing man. How I wish I could have met Louis (Louie) Zamperiniin person the way director Angelina Jolie did.

I try hard not to put spoilers in my movie reviews. If you have read the book (which I think you should), nothing I say cansurprise you. If you haven’t read it, I at least assume you know some of the history of what happened to Americans in the Japanese prisoner of war...

Movie Review: EXODUS: Gods and Kings

exodusLast night, Jerry and I went with our adult granddaughter to see Exodus: Gods and Kings.

If you want a biblically accurate film, this isn’t it. However, if you are after an action-adventure film that is visually stunning, this mightfit the bill. (We didn’t see the 3D version, but it must have been amazing in some scenes.)

Any movie that takes on...
