March All Night

Have you ever had God smack you between the eyes as you are reading? I have, and the most recent occasion was while I was readingSun Stand Still by Steven Furtick. In case you aren’t sure where you have heard that title before, it was in aprayer of Joshua, that God would make the sun stand still in the sky so the Israelites could win the battle they were fighting.

Audacious Faith

My word for 2015 is “persistent prayer,” and I have dedicated a portion of my devotional time to reading books on prayer or about p...

I’m a Logomaniac

I love to receive a “word of the day.” I especially love it when I can learn a new and interesting word. I subscribe to one such list via email and receive a different one on my iPhone in an app.

Everyoneneeds to be aware that words have power. In fact, that was the theme of my book,A Matter of Character. It behooves us to know and understand thewords that we speak, to ourselves and to others, so that we might speak hope and healing into a hopeless and hurting world.

A Note to Blog Post Subscribers

Blog

On the advice of my new web host, I am (reluctantly) making a change in the method blog subscribers receive my posts via email. The plugin that I have been using apparently chews up too many resources.

I’m sure there are going to be a few unexpected steps I must take or changes I must make to the way I have done things. The Books Authors Read | Kellie Coates Gilbert

Kellie was one of the lead paralegals in the Jack-in-the-Box litigation, where uncooked hamburger resulted in the deaths of several toddlers and made many more critically ill, which is now the subplot of her soon-to-be-released WHERE RIVERS PART from Baker Publishing/Revell. Her books not only explore the heart issues that matter most to...

I have had a rather chaotic week. After two weeks of website hassles (my own and the blog I handle for a group of writers, Inspired by Life and Fiction), I made the decision to do migrations for both of the sites. In some ways it went smoothly. In others, not so much.

On Monday, my Varidesk arrived. It’s a set up that allows me to change from sitting to standing and back again while at the computer. And as m...

The Trouble with Patience by Maggie Brendan

THE TROUBLE WITH PATIENCE

Despite Patience’s desire for solitude, Jedediah Jones, the local marshal with a reputation for hanging criminals, becomes an ever-looming part of her life. It seems like such a simple arrangement: She needs someone with a strong back to he...
