A fresh New Look for HERE IN HART’S CROSSING

Recently, I had reason to look at the cover of my novella collection, Here in Hart’s Crossing, and I knew that it needed a fresh look. I decided to go with something colorful, and the above cover is what I landed on. It makes me feel happy for some reason. I hope it does the same for you.

Have you read Here in Hart’s Crossing and/or the individual novellas included in it (Legacy Lane, Veterans Way, Diamond Place, Sweet Dreams Drive)? Here are a couple of the 5 🌟 reviews for the collection ...

By the Grace of God

For followers of the Jesus Christ, this is a holy week.

Today is Maundy Thursday (maundy is short for the Latin word mandatum, which means command). It commemorates the washing of the feet of the disciples by Jesus and the sharing of the Last Supper.Tomorrow, Good Friday, we remember the crucifixion of our Messiah (and I suppose only a true disciple of Jesus can understand what is “good” about Good Friday).Saturday is a day of waiting. And Sunday, we celebrate the Risen Lord, the most mome...

On This Day in 1976 . . .

On a Saturday morning, Valentine’s Day 1976, at approximately 6:00 AM, I invited Jesus into my heart in the quiet of my home.

It’s hard to believe that 45 years have passed since that life-changing, soul-changing decision. Funny thing about time. Although a second is always a second, an hour always an hour, a year always a year, something that happened to me 45 years ago can be more clear in my memory than something that happened to me last week. That is certainly true about the moment I ...

2020 Reflections and my word for 2021

I didn’t blog on a regular basis in 2020. Plenty of good intentions but not enough follow through. But I’ve enjoyed writing a year end reflection post for several years and didn’t want to miss writing one for 2020.

My word for 2020

Revelation (Ephesians 1:17)

that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.

2020 was definitely a year when I needed the spirit of wisdom and for God to reveal H...

Wishing you a very merry christmas

If you’re anything like me, your Christmas will look different this year. Normally, I get to gather with extended family on Christmas Eve and then go see a much anticipated movie on Christmas morning. But this year, while continuing to be cautious in a location where the spread of COVID has been bad, I’m focusing on all the blessings in my life, and remembering that it is CHRIST who I’m celebrating. His birth particularly. But also His life, His death, and His resurrection.

The word Chris...

December on a Deadline

Winter arrived in Idaho after a lovely and long Indian summer. Weve had below-freezing temps in late November and early December. Weve also had a couple of snowy days, though nothing has lingered yet. Hows the weather where you are?

This December, as most Decembers, Im working on a new book. For me, cold weather means sitting down with a warm beverage, a fire blazing in the fireplace (when Im in the living room instead of my office), and writing.

And of course, when not writing, its always...

Cover Reveal

Early in the writing process of a new book, I am required to turn in a form to my publisher with lots of different information about the work in progress. Included in this information are suggestions for the cover such as significant locations, items that play an important role, etc.

The problem for me, as a seat-of-the-pants writer, is that my story can change a lot as I write the book. That certainly was the case for my July 2021 release, Make You Feel My Love. For one thing, I believed...
