Tribute to A Dog’sLife
I’ve been absent from my blog for almost two months. Some of those weeks were because I was working to meet a deadline while at the same time studying hard for my college math finals (hey, I got an A in math and turned in the book on time!). But some of those weeks, as friends on Facebook know already, were because I was grieving the loss of our precious dog, Poppet.
I have mourned the loss of many...

Keeper of the Stars is a 2017 RITA® Award Finalist
[image error]Tuesday, March 21, was supposed to be just an ordinary writing/revising day for me. I was seated at my desk, coffee mug near at hand and my document open on the computer, when my phone rang. It was 8:26 AM. I don’t get calls very often that early in the day. Caller ID told me the caller’s location but not the caller’s name. I considered not answering. It so often is just a sales call.
But I did answer.
Knock me off my chair. It was an RWA board member, calling to let me know that Keeper of th...

Fact and Fiction, Part 2
[image error]
Continuing with the revisit of my Fact and Fiction story (see Part 1 here)…
Life HappenedI had what I would call a normal, happy childhood, even though my dad died when I was a baby. My brother and I were raised by my mom and grandmother, and we had a close-knit and loving extended family. I have fond memories of holiday gatherings when we would play games like “Spoon” around a large dining room table at my aunt’s house.
Senior photo I was a B student, for the most part. I studied hard at...

A Flip Through My Second Journaling Bible
I’ve been Bible art journaling for a year now, and I’ve been so blessed by the process. I finally found the time to do another flip through. I hope you enjoy.

Fact and Fiction, Part 1
[image error]
Over on Inspired by Life and Fiction, the authors have been posting “Ten Things You Might Not Know About Me“. We’ve had so much fun with those that I thought I would continue along that line with some posts about my writing journey. I blogged this information a dozen years ago. Just ignore if you’ve read it before (although I’ve added some photos).
Teach Me to ReadMy love affair with books began before I could read.

My Word for 2016
Since 2005, I have made it apractice to ask God to give me a word for the year. I don’t want to just choose a word myself. I want it to be something God wants me to know and study and contemplate and understand. And He has been faithful to do just that.
My word for 2017: PONDER
The verse:Luke 2:29, “But Mary treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart.” (NASB95)
I expect that I shall be pondering many things in my heart throughout 2017, and I pray that I will treasure all that G...

2016: My Year in Books
We are just a few days away now from ringing out the old and ringing in the new. What better time for those who love books and stories to reflect on what we’ve been reading?
As I have shared before, I love Goodreads and their annual Reading Challenge. The site helps me keep track of my reading and thechallenge keeps me trying to read more.
While I willfinish reading another book or two before the end of 2016 (I am preparing this post onChristmas), the numbers will not change dramatically from...
