About CHASING RIVER:

Armed with two years' worth of savings and the need to experience life outside the bubble of her Oregon small town, twenty-five-year old Amber Welles is prepared for anything. Except dying in Dublin. Had it not been for the bravery of a stranger, she might have. But he takes off before she has the chance to offer her gratitude.

Twenty-four-year-old River Delaney is rattled. No one was supposed to get hurt. But then that American tourist showed up. He couldn't let her die, but he also couldn’t risk being identified at the scene—so, he ran. Back to his everyday life of running his family’s pub. Only, everyday life is getting more and more complicated, thanks to his brother, Aengus, and his criminal associations. When the American girl tracks River down, he quickly realizes how much he likes her, how wrong she is for him. And how dangerous it is to have her around. Chasing her off would be the smart move.

Maybe it's because he saved her life, or maybe it's because he's completely different from everything she's left behind, but Amber finds herself chasing after River Delaney. Amber isn’t the kind of girl to chase after anyone.

And River isn't the kind of guy she'd want to catch.

Chasing River Quote Card 2

EXCERPT:
I inhale sharply, the air hissing through my gritted teeth. I watch him lay the long cylindrical tube down in the grass with careful movements and dread washes over me.
Jesus, Aengus. You’ve gone too far this time.
Hopping to his feet, he snatches up the satchel and charges toward me, his cell phone in his palm, his head revolving as he scans the emptiness around us. I square my shoulders and brace myself for a collision with his temper, as swift and nasty as a black adder’s bite.
“Are you insane?” I bark when he’s within easy earshot.
The glint in his eyes—the color of an overripe avocado, beginning to rot—would suggest exactly that.
“You said no one would get hurt.”
“Do you see anyone around to get hurt?” he snarls, continuing past me, punching keys into his phone. “You’ve got exactly sixty seconds to get the fuck out of here, River.” He takes off at a light jog, not waiting to see if I’ll follow.
Because I always have.
Oh, fuck me. A current of adrenaline shoots through my core. I glance down at my watch. One minute. Less, now. Fifty-five seconds, give or take. The muscles in my thighs twitch, ready to tear after Aengus because there’s nothing else for me to do. But a lot can happen in just sixty seconds. My conscience keeps me grounded, my wild eyes scouring the paths around me for signs of life. A jogger bobs along in the distance, so far away that I can’t be sure whether it’s male or female. Otherwise, I see no one.
I glance at my watch again, my heartbeat doing double time with each second that passes. Only forty-five remain before I look damn guilty to whoever finds me here. Unless I rat out Aengus— which will never happen—I’m as good as locked up for this.
I need to run.
Except . . . that perimeter set isn’t wide enough. If someone should come around the bend, cut across the field . . . But what can I do, really?
Thirty seconds. Beads of sweat trickle down my back. I need to get the hell out of here. Now.
I turn, intent on going back the way I came. But movement catches my eye and my stomach drops as I watch the very thing I just feared unravel before my eyes. A girl runs through the field, her attention alternating between her wrist and the unfolded map within her grip, her brow pulled tight with worry.
She’s clearly a tourist.
She’s clearly late for something.
And she’s heading directly into the blast radius of the pipe bomb that’s about to explode.
I’m out of time. I don’t have a choice.
I run. As fast as my legs can carry me, I run.

Book Review: Beautiful Secret

Beautiful Secret (Beautiful Bastard #4)
by Christina Lauren

AN UPTIGHT BRITISH EXECUTIVE. AN ADVENTUROUS AMERICAN NEWBIE. A SEXY INTERNATIONAL SCANDAL IN THE MAKING.

New York Times and #1 internationally bestselling author Christina Lauren’s Beautiful and Wild Seasons series hook up in Beautiful Secret for an erotic intercontinental romp that celebrates the best of both worlds!

When Ruby Miller’s boss announces he’s sending her on an extended business trip to New York City, she’s shocked. As one of the best and brightest young engineers in London, she knows she’s professionally up to the task. The part that’s throwing her is where she’ll be spending a month up close and personal working alongside—and staying in a hotel with—Niall Stella, her firm’s top urban planning executive and The Hottest Man Alive. Despite her ongoing crush, Ruby is certain Niall barely knows she’s alive…until their flirty overnight flight makes him sit up and take notice.

Not one for letting loose and breaking rules, recently divorced Niall would describe himself as hopeless when it comes to women. But even he knows outgoing California-girl Ruby is a breath of fresh air. Once she makes it her mission to help the sexy Brit loosen his tie, there’s no turning back. Thousands of miles from London, it’s easy for the lovers to play pretend. But when the trip is over, will the relationship they’ve built up fall down?
TeriLyn's thoughts: The Beautiful Bastard series by Christina Lauren has given me endless reading pleasure. When I heard Max Stella's brother was getting a book I was so happy because Max is my favorite from the series. Little did I know how completely different the two brothers really are. In this series I've come to expect explosive passion and chemistry from the couple being together right from the start. In Beautiful Secret the chemistry and passion are ever present but the explosiveness wasn't, for me, and it didn't grab me quite as hard as with previous books. This story is more of a slow burn as Niall navigates his life post-divorce and figures out the emotions he's experiencing with the vivacious Ruby, who's character I loved. I haven't loved a heroine in this series more than hero until now. She's a perfect combination of sassy and sweet wrapped up in total honesty. I loved how she was NIall and with the rest of guys from the series. So even though it's my favorite of the series it's a great read as like always the book comprises the flawless writing of dynamic duo Christina Lauren. I really enjoyed reading it and hope we get more from this cast of characters soon.

Book Review: Insatiable

Insatiable (Insatiable #1)
by J.D. Hawkins

It’s not cocky when you've got the goods to back it up.

Lust-maker. Pleasure giver. Fantasy creator. I can blow your mind in five seconds flat — but trust me, you’ll want this to last all night.

There’s not a woman in the city who can resist me. Except one.

Now she’s got a proposition: Seven days. Every position. No strings attached.

She wants to know what she’s been missing.

Who am I to say no?
TeriLyn's thoughts: I devoured Insatiable on the beach and consider it a perfect beach-type read. The characters and the plot provide super sexy, witty, and a lot of fun while reading. Written in such an easy, flawless manner JD Hawkins created the beginning of a story between two characters who I'm now rooting for and anticipating the continuation of their story.

Insatiable is told from dual POV's and is a short, novella style story. Jax shines in this book. His charming demeanor with the opposite sex creates a charismatic character you'll swoon over. He has easy values he believes and was really very dreamy to read with his sort of care-free attitude. Lizzie brings a naivety to the story you'll find is her charm. Each of them equal in fierce personalities completely complimenting the other and giving us great banter and conversation between the two. While conversely, Lizzie's fearless attitude about Jax brought out the most vulnerable side of him adding more to his allure. Not to mention the sex is explosive between Jax and Lizzie. I mean holy wow, JD Hawkins can write a sex scene!

I'm so thankful to my girls for encouraging me to read Insatiable. This author writes extremely well always engaging the reader in the story by providing good dialogue and an easy plot. I'm totally looking forward to reading more about these two characters especially given the interesting twist at the end of the book. Can't wait for Part two!

Book Review: Tattoos and Tatas

Tattoos and Tatas (Chocoholics #2.5)
by Tara Sivec

During the month of October, 100% of the proceeds from Tattoos and Tatas will be donated to breast cancer awareness.

Claire and Liz have always had a friendship that defied the test of time, but when one of them is diagnosed with a disease that every woman fears, their bond is put through the wringer. How do you cope knowing your soul mate could be taken from you?

Filled with memories of their life long friendship, inappropriate behavior, bad tattoos and shaving cats, the two friends will realize that laughter really is the best medicine.

Tattoos and TaTas is not your typical love story; it's a story of friendship and learning how to let go when something is beyond your control.
TeriLyn's thoughts: I love Tara Sivec and I love this group of characters. Tattoos and Tatas is a novella complimenting this great series told from the POV of Liz. It was a very real account of a woman out of sorts because the life of her best friend is threatened by a terrible disease. It shows the strength in friendship, the strength in women and the power of soul deep connection rooted in humor. If you need a good laugh or a reminder to laugh even in the most awful of experiences, this author delivers. There's humor, humility, and the best kind of friendship shared between a special group of people.

How the Writing Process Surprised Me
Thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to guest post on your blog! My name is Gina Azzi and I recently self-published my first novel, Corner of Ocean and Bay. The novel highlights the friendship of Nessa and Jacie during the summer before their senior year of high school. Primarily focusing on teen topics such as underage drinking, family issues, and first loves, the novel explores how Nessa and Jacie navigate these challenges and the impact certain situations have on their friendship.
Now that I’ve self-published, many people have asked me various questions about the process: How did I do it? How long did it take? What steps were involved?
The truth is, when I first began writing Corner of Ocean and Bay, I didn’t even realize I was going to write a book. The entire concept started as a two-page assignment for a writing course I was taking at The Writer’s Studio in New York. Then, I developed the two-pages into a short story for a writing class I was taking online at Gotham’s Writer’s Workshop – about two years later. Afterwards, I sat on it for months and months. Little by little, I added more two-page ideas and suddenly, I had a whole first chapter! It wasn’t until that moment that I realized I wanted to turn what started off as an assignment into a full length Young Adult novel.
But then what?
I was stuck.
I pondered for weeks about Nessa, the main protagonist. I agonized over her social interactions, her character development, her relationship with Z. And then, I realized that Jacie, Nessa’s best friend, was just as equally an interesting character. One who had just as much to say as Nessa did. Suddenly, I began writing scenes from Jacie’s point of view. I realized the story was more balanced if both characters were contributing their individual thoughts, personal dilemmas, and histories to the plot. After this realization, the writing flowed and I fell in love with Nessa and Jacie’s friendship – the kind that you only ever share with your best, truest friend.
At this point, I realized that the core of the story, the underlying theme of all the drama and changes and relationships that occur in Corner of Ocean and Bay, is friendship.
I didn’t have this fantastic epiphany until page 200.
Sometimes, you outline. You have incredible ideas. You have great plans.
Sometimes, the writing takes over and your characters teach you more than you can ever instill in them. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I’m grateful that Nessa and Jacie reminded me of the importance of friendship, how amazing it is to let yourself be silly with someone who appreciates the wild in you just as much as you do. Someone who really, truly, gets you.
I’m grateful for how much I learned through writing Corner of Ocean and Bay.

And I think that the learning part – the discovery, the realizations, the bond I experienced with the characters – is really how I wrote the book and how the process all came together!

Excerpt 1:
She had her head thrown back laughing as she raced across the wet sand. The setting sun lit the wildfire in her eyes, and Ryan would’ve followed her anywhere. The warm, foamy saltwater lapped at her toes, as anxious to touch some part of her beautiful body as he was. Launching himself forward, every muscle in his body propelled him towards her. He caught her hand and then leaned to scoop up her lithe form into his arms.Every patch of her silky skin that connected with his sent a spark of electricity straight to his groin. His heart raced, but he kept running with her. Running away, maybe. With a delighted squeal, she leaned in and clung tightly to his neck. Her long, thick hair, the color of black coffee with caramel and blonde ribbons spun through it from their summer in the sun, cascaded out over his left bicep, flying behind them as he raced her down the shores of Gypsy Beach. Her hazel eyes danced just for him.Everything about her was a juxtaposition, as if she was in constant contention with herself. Wild, free, and living on the edge of an impulse that made his entire world spin. Every single thing about Sienna Cooper was perfect by his seventeen-year-old estimations.“Stop running and put me down so I can kiss you, Ryan McNamara!” Her laughter and her order whipped around him in the salt-soaked wind, stirring and igniting every cell in his body.“Yes, ma’am.” He set her on her feet and wasted no time mating their mouths. She was so sweet it was sinful, like spun sugar that melted in his arms. He’d fallen in love with her two summers before and spent every school year longing to get back to Gypsy Beach and back to Sienna. His lips kept hers occupied while his hands tracked down her slender sides and then dipped into that bikini bottom that had been driving him to distraction all damn day. He cupped her backside, and when that simply wasn’t enough he kneaded her with greed.A timid moan reverberated against his tongue as he slipped it between her lips, memorizing the heat, the way they swelled, the way they tasted, and the all-encompassing feeling of her body needy for him. That moment would have to last him until next summer.Unable to stop himself, his right hand traversed the short distance from her sweet little backside to the perfect patch of skin between her thighs. She trembled, and her body rolled against his. He almost lost it all there on the deserted beach. Her mound quaked as his thumb hesitantly explored. Her breath tangled in her throat, and her eyes closed in expectant ecstasy. He could feel the tender heat and the liquid desire gathering in preparation for him, and that night he was going to make a claim. They would be each other’s firsts, each other’s only if he had anything to say about it. He’d unite them in time and space, and it would be enough to get him through the next nine months of school five states away. It had to be enough.“I love you Sienna Rose, and, God, baby, I need you. Before we have to leave tomorrow, I just need you. Stay with me tonight.”

With that sexy smirk and the fire that lived inside of her that always seemed to consume both of their souls, she followed him inside his parents’ beach house.
