When opportunity knocks
I could've put this post under the 'Write Whisper' series for maintaining a current, professional website...but I'm too excited and just want to blab so here goes! Was checking inbox at 6am yesterday when a very interesting email lobbed in, from an editor asking if I'd be interested in contributing to this.
THE MAMMOTH BOOK OF SPECIAL OPS ROMANCE.
Considering I'd be included among award-winning and New York Times bestselling authors for this short story anthology, you bet I was interested! Th...

One Indian Summer finale
It's done!
The final chapter of ONE INDIAN SUMMER , my online read at eharlequin, is now live.
If you enjoyed the story, make sure you check out the sequel (yes, Harrison and Khushi have a daughter, Tamara!) A TRIP WITH THE TYCOON .

Hugh Jackman inspired Ethan, the hero in this book.
Never need an excuse to post a pic of Hugh!

Calamity Jane
Interesting weekend.
Saturday was fun, yesterday...hmm...
Toddler fell, massive egg bump on head and grazed off half his face. Shock set in quickly contributing to him vomiting for ages. Awful. For everyone concerned!
An hour later, my niece fell, opened up a large gash on her face, off to hospital.
Needless to say, my parents were probably glad to see the back of all of us for a little peace!
And I woke with huge neck glands on Saturday, worse yesterday, can hardly swallow today.
So off to doc'...

Three Times a Bridesmaid
No, not me, but my next Harlequin Romance, out May 2010!
A new excerpt is up on my website so check it out!
(and I make no apologies for posting this pic of Daniel MacPherson yet again.) No prizes for guessing why he was the inspiration behind Bryce Gibson, the hero in this book, huh?

Best friends forever
Happy birthday to my oldest, dearest friend.
We've been BFF since Prep, have survived her changing schools in Year 10, her 4 year physio degree in Sydney, and her spending several years working in England before returning to OZ.
With busy lives, we don't see enough of each other but a true friend is one you know is thinking about you even when you don't chat often enough.

This one's for you, J.
Shame he won't be popping out of your cake when we catch up shortly!

A character's quirks
I've jumped back into writing WILD ABOUT YOU this week.
A good thing, considering the deadline is mid November!
I mentioned how the irresistible Nathan Fillion is the inspiration for my hero, ex tennis pro Jared Malone?

Well, he's working out perfectly!
Jared is just as irreverant, cheeky, charming and quirky as Nathan is in 'Castle' and I'm rapt!
Interestingly, I don't have any pics of him (on my desk, from a magazine, nada) and I haven't collaged this book (haven't collaged the last few actually...

People watching
Monday was the last day of school hols so I took my boys to the museum.
We're frequent visitors and I love watching the wide-eyed glee with which they view everything.
After our visit, we had lunch in Brunswick Street.
For those non-Melburnians, Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, is iconic for its bohemian, arty, alternative flavour.
Picture a street lined with restaurants from all around the world, fabulous cafes, retro boutiques, vintage clothing, bars and well...you get the idea.

Holiday fun
What with my deadlines, hubby working and the boys swimming lessons every weekend, we rarely go away.
But with the last weekend of the holidays looming, and hubby taking a rare day off Friday with his dad staying with us, I decided to book a last minute trip.
So off the family went to Daylesford, a 90 minute journey from Melbourne.

Daylesford/Hepburn Springs is a quaint town in the heart of mineral springs territory. It's famous for its bath-house and fine food.
I didn't get to sample either.
