All systems go

Heard from the editor of THE MAMMOTH BOOK OF SPECIAL OPS ROMANCE a few nights ago.

She loved my story!

Line edits were minor, just a few clarifications of 'Aussie-isms' and a few lines added to the end of the story to show a hint of HEA.

Initially, I wanted to leave the reader hanging with the relationship regarding Fox and Lee. But now, there's enough of a hint towards a possible happily ever after...

Speaking of the characters, you know who inspired my hero Fox.

Here's who inspired my heroine ...

I use the fabulous CataRomance for reviews and now, one of their sites has had a facelift.

SingleTitles.com has a whole new look.

They have hundreds of book reviews, interviews, and lots of great excerpts.
Plus, they're now featuring thrillers and mysteries.

Frocks, fillies and fun

And they're off!
The Melbourne Cup, 'the race that stops a nation', is run today.
Over a hundred thousand people will pack Flemington racecourse, dressed in fabulous fashion, to have a flutter and some serious fun.
Can't make it?
You can live the drama, excitement and passion through my INHERITED: BABY , set around this very event.

Beached

With the Melbourne Cup running tomorrow, it's a long weekend here for most.

I'm at the beach for a little R&R.

Sun, surf, sandcastles, smiles from the kids. Love it!

Taking advantage?

Halloween isn't celebrated much in Australia.
Very rarely when I was growing up.
Then we've had a few 'trick or treater's knock on our door the last few years.

Now this.

Went grocery shopping earlier this week and was absolutely amazed at the range of Halloween paraphernalia on sale. Front and centre store displays. Aisles of the stuff.

First time ever I've seen that here...shops taking advantage of an increasing commercial angle to a festival we Aussies know little about?

I could google Hallowee...

More than a match

Sarah Jessica Parker is such a strong, sassy woman in 'Sex and the City', I thought she'd be perfect inspiration for my heroine Kristi in 'Wild About You.'

As I'm getting back into writing the story, Kristi is regaining some of her old spark, her fire, more than a match for Jared Malone.

Speaking of SATC, when I was at the hairdresser's yesterday, flicking through Grazia, I saw the latest gossip on the 2nd SATC movie.
Apparently Liza Minelli, Barbara Streisand, Jennifer Hudson and now Penelope ...

Taking over

Finally, finally back to writing WILD ABOUT YOU.

Took a break last week while trying to get TAG TEAM, my anthology story finished, then there was the tax saga...so just had to jump back into the story for sanity!

This man is such strong hero inspiration that he's what's driving the story at the moment. Yet Harlequin Romances are predominantly heroine driven.

Will be interesting once I get this first draft written to go back over it and see if Jared Malone is as vivid as he is now.

All you writer...

Addled

After another few mind-numbing hours of tax last night, I have no energy to write a coherent post.

So a pic will have to suffice.

This one caught my eye over at the PHS .

Chris Meloni from SVU. Nice.

Tax schmax!

Not tonight dear, I have a headache.

That's exactly how I felt last night after spending 90 minutes doing tax stuff!
Input figures until my eyes blurred.
Now need to collate all info.

Then it's onto hubby's!

And to think, this was my 'reward' for finishing the Special Ops anthology story ahead of deadline and sending off on the weekend.

Remind me to pick something a little more fun as a reward next time!
