Inheritance Books – Victoria J Brown

This week’s Inheritance Books are from Victoria J Brown – chick-lit writer and fellow Famous Five fan.

Vic Portrait 1Hi Victoria, welcome to Inheritance Books. please tell us a bit about yourself.

I’m a chick-lit writer and love writing stories that relate to real-life issues. I have a MA in Creative Writing, but I’m a storyteller not a literary writer. I love using drama in my stories, but drama that many women can relate to.

When I was studying for the MA I won a short story competition judged by Adele Par...

How to make your blog work harder

Social media is bewildering. There’s your website and your blog, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Amazon Author Central, Goodreads… you can’t possibly be everywhere, so which ones do you choose? You have to do what you enjoy. Personally, I like Facebook because I can have conversations with people over several days. On the other hand, Twitter is easier to access on my phone, so I dip into that as well. But how do you keep the other sites from looking dusty and unloved? The easiest way is to join...

Inheritance Books – Janey Fraser

This week’s Inheritance Books are from the awesomely talented Janey Fraser (also known as Sophie King, Jane Bidder or Jane Correy).

Hi Janey, welcome to Inheritance Books. Tell us a bit about yourself.

I started writing stories at the age of three, apparently. I grew up near Harrow with my younger sister and our parents. Until I was twelve, my grandmother lived with us and after that, she was just round the corner. It probably explains why I enjoy the company of older people. One of my best fri...

How to find great images for your blog: Getty Images – free to use if you embed them

Getty images have decided to release a whole load of their images for free if you embed them.

Where to find them: http://www.gettyimages.co.uk/Creative/Frontdoor/embed(Contains instructions on how to use the embed codes.)

Why is this important?
Getty specifically says that blogs that use Google Ads to make money are not considered ‘commercial’. By extension a writer’s blog that advertises their books in the side bar should not be considered commercial either. However, if you use an image in a bo...

Inheritance Books – Gary Twynam

This week’s Inheritance Books are from Gary Twynam, another man who writes romance! (That’s two in the space of a few weeks. There must be something in the ether. If I’d known I’d have had a week of just male romance writers!) Anyway, enough from me. Let’s meet Gary.

Hi Gary, welcome to Inheritance Books. Please, tell us a bit about yourself.

1277647_563916320311258_1058248991_oI recently had a debut novel published by Carina at the grand old age of 51, an age when you think about legacy more than is perhaps healthy. So, I was ke...

And, in case you want to know what the spine looks like (which, of course you NEED to know if you’re going to look for it in a bookshop, or your local library)… it looks like this:

Isn’t it lovely?

Oodles of thanks to the fabulous Bernie and the crew at Choc Lit.

Excited? Who me? Whatever gave you that idea?

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Inheritance Books – Tilly Tennant

This week’s Inheritance Books comes from Tilly Tennant.

Hi Tilly, welcome to Inheritance Books. Please tell us a bit about yourself.

photo (9)I was born in Bournemouth, Dorset, but have now settled in Staffordshire where my dad comes from (he met my mum, who hails from Bournemouth, boogieing in a nightclub whilst on shore leave in Portsmouth). I’m mother to two beautiful daughters. I am older than I would like to admit, even to myself. I’ve always read from an early age but, strangely, nobody else in my...

Inheritance Books – Jim Cangany

Hi Jim, welcome to Inheritance Books. Please tell us a bit about yourself.???????????????????????????????

I hail from Indianapolis, Indiana USA, home of the Greatest Spectacle in Racing, the Indianapolis 500. I have seven older siblings, which was awful when I was little, but is wonderful now since I’m the only one who hasn’t reached 50. Believe m...
