MILEVA MARIC, the Other Einstein

Alana Cash dropped me an email to say she enjoyed Doctor January (even though she wasn’t expecting to!). We got talking about women working in science and the reasons they often leave. It turned out that Alana knows a lot about the unsung heroines of science. She very kindly agreed to write guest post on the subject.

In researching the lives of Mileva Maric and her husband, Albert Einstein, for a documentary, I became very disappointed as I found that the kindly humanitarian Albert Einstein, t...

Introducing Beth and Hibs from Doctor January

Since it’s publication week for Doctor January, here’s an extract. Meet Hibs. He’s just getting dumped.

Beth removed her cycle helmet and fluffed up her hair before she punched in the security code to get into the labs. As soon as she entered the corridor, she heard the shouting. Since she hadn’t had a card or text from Gordon, she was hoping she’d at least get a couple of cards and ‘happy birthday’s’ from her colleagues, but it looked like she got to witness some sort of argument instead.

Inheritance Books – Janet Gover

This week’s Inheritance Books are from Aussie novelist and fellow ChocLiteer, Janet Gover. She writes contemporary romance and hosts a mean kitchen party.

Hi Janet, welcome to Inheritance Books. I’ve got some Caramello Koalas, just for you. Tell us a bit about yourself.

Janet GoverHi – it’s really nice here on Inheritance Books. I feel right at home surrounded by lots of battered and much loved old books.

Inheritance Books – Natalie Kleinman

This week’s Inheritance Books are from the contemporary romancenovelist Natalie Kleinman. Hi Natalie, can I get you a cuppa?

Please tell us a bit about yourself.

Natalie KleinmanI abandoned an Open University science degree course at the end of the second year because, though I loved it and found it fascinating and exciting, it was impinging too much on my home life. Looking for something to take its place, I started writing about twelve years ago, beginning with a one-term council-run course. I thought it wou...
