Forced into executing Aresia's people, Phoebus escapes the Aresian Guard by flying his spaceship through a wormhole.

The only single woman of marrying age, Marissa flees town instead of becoming a third wife.

When Phoebus's spacecraft crashes upon an asteroid-ravaged Earth, he is captured by a rogue Earthling youth and thrown into a cellar. Marissa stumbles upon the spacecraft, but it explodes before she can find any sign of the alien. When she awakens, she discovers the alien's whereabouts and vows to help him. But Phoebus's Aresians have landed and are searching for him. Phoebus and Marissa must battle against their despair and their peoples in a quest for their freedom. And through it all, an Earthling and an Aresian will find it easier to fight gravity than their love for each other.
MY TEASER:Marissa crept toward the spaceship. Had someone been inside it? She listened, but she only heard the crackling of fire and the ticking of metal. Perhaps whoever flew the ship had gotten out, but she had to check. The person could be hurt.

WHAT'S YOUR CHOCOLATE?

What's Your Chocolate?
Hosted by

 M. Pax, Laura Eno, Brinda Berry
and Ciara Knight.
Do you love chocolate? Does the very word make you drool with anticipation? Then be sure to join us on September 10th for the “What’s Your Chocolate?” Blogfest and tell us all about it!
Post about your favorite chocolate – what it means to you, where and when you indulge, a favorite memory – anything chocolate-related.

Chocolate is definitely my comfort food!
I remember when I was young,

My Dad would bring home from work a large family block of chocolate,
When he though we had been behaving well,
We would sit in the lounge
and share the chocolate out amongst us.

My grandmother would pay a visit for dinner to my parents house every Thursday evening, and once again we would share a Cadbury Family Block of Chocolate!

Sometimes the bars were filled with fruit and nuts and other times, caramel, but I preferred the plain milk chocolate blocks!

As an adult, my favourite chocolate is

Ferrero Rocher!

I like to eat them with a cup of tea at night, and as a desert after dinner!

But of course not every night,
I would be as big as a house!

Cannot go past
chocolate coated strawberries,
especially with a
glass of champagne!

Oh,and I also have a soft spot
for Homemade Chocolate Fudge!

As you can see
I really do like
Chocolate!

I WRITE FRIDAY#FLASH

A Darkness Buried Deep Within
by Carolyn Brown     (845 words of Horror)
Sitting here now it was hard to believe the torment Chelsea had put Scott through, she had always seemed such a lovely, sweet young thing.  No one would have imagined what darkness had dwelled deep inside of her, or how someone would go to such lengths to commit such a heinous crime on one so not deserving.
Scott was guilty of being brought up in poor circumstances, a drunken mother with a criminal for a father.  In a town the size of this one, this knowledge was hardly a secret, but was this the only reason he became the victim of her torment.
It had started when one of the other girls had made a comment about Scott, something about his attractiveness.  It had peeked Chelsea’s interest and had sparked her enthusiasm for what she called fun.
I remember the day clearly when she had moved across the oval, towards him like a predator cat sizing up her prey.  He just finished track practice and was standing wiping sweat from his face with a towel, when she had approached him.  Scott had looked up and for a split second nearly dropped the towel he had been holding, he was so shocked to find her standing before him.
I had been sitting up in the bleachers catching up on some study and had a clear view of the proceedings playing out before me.
Chelsea grabbed the sweat soaked towel and started patting Scott’s brow provocatively, throwing all her female powers of persuasion his way.  The poor guy was dumbfounded, he did not have a chance.
I saw Brad Barber watch the proceedings from the football field as he participated in his practice with the team.  I had sniggered with others as he had dropped the ball a couple of times, because he was so distracted by Chelsea’s game.
Chelsea never once glanced his way, she was focusing all of her energy totally on poor Scott.
Scott, overwhelmed by the attention, lapped up every bit of it, and being so terribly innocent fell hook line and sinker into being Chelsea’s plaything. What guy wouldn’t? She was after all Head Cheerleader, with a body to die for, well rounded perky little breasts, a tight butt and legs that just kept going higher.  She was a brunette with emerald green eyes which were surrounded by thick black lashes, which she knew just how to flutter to get what she wanted.
Chelsea chattered with Scott for a short while, only the two of them know what words had passed between them.  But, before she turned to saunter back towards her fellow cheer mates to the other side of the track, she had lent over and kissed Scott on the lips.  This was all too much for Brad, he had certainly dropped the ball this time, and had stormed off the football field and had practically run towards his ‘mate’ in a split second.
Brad had stood in front of her and demanded a reason for her actions, but she had just ignored his pleas, a smug look upon her face.
When Brad had raised his arm to slap her across the face, we had all gasped in unison.  But, we had no need to be alarmed, as his arm was caught in mid-air by the newly empowered track hero, Scott!
Brad had turned in shock and surprise to find it was Scott holding him back. This was just too much for Brad to handle.  To be belittled in such a way in front of his peers, was the last straw.  Fuming he turned his anger on Scott.  With one wild swing, his fist connected with Scott’s face, sending him in a crumpled mess to the ground.
Surprisingly, Scott collected himself and stood erect, ready and waiting for Brad’s next move.  It did not happen as Chelsea decided at that point to intervene and defuse the situation with the use of her feminine charms, she draped herself over Brad, smothering him with her kisses.
Poor Scott, unused to the games Chelsea played, seemed broken.  He looked upon Chelsea and Brad’s intimate embrace with horror, he had moved to his school bag, removed from it a shot gun and proceeded to aim and fire at random students as they fled, hurriedly from the scene.
I had ducked down to take cover from the random fire, behind the rows of seats, laying my body out as flat as I possibly could.
I had watched in horror at the scene playing out before my eyes and when Scott had placed the shot gun into his mouth and readied himself to pull the trigger, I sat dumfounded by the events unfolding in front of me.
Seconds ticked by and moved as if in slow motion, then as Chelsea saw what Scott was about to do, she ran to him in a last ditch effort to put a stop to the madness.  Unfortunately as she came close enough to him, as Scott pulled back on the trigger and brain matter splattered Chelsea from head to foot….

FIRST WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH

FIRST WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH
IT IS TIME FOR
INSECURE WRITER'S SUPPORT GROUPTo find out more about this group, visit:Alex J. Cavanaugh (The Ninja Captain)
at http://alexjcavanaugh.blogspot.com.au

I can't believe another month has gone by already!
Where are they disappearing to!

Well this monh, I am feeling rather insecure about time, and how there just never seems to be enough of it!
Even though I am quite an organized person, I always seem to be chasing my tale, trying to get things done. This blogging world is so busy, I never seem to be able to fit in everything I want to do or visit all the blogs I would like to, in the limited amount of time I have available to do so!
I am wondering does someone out there have some sound organized ways of connecting with the people they want to, in the limited amounts of time they possess? I would really love to learn some quick tricks, if they exist!
Time is also running out on my commitment to publish my second book in the Protector Series and I am starting to stress over it being ready on time and having all the other paraphernalia that goes along with a book release, organized and ready to distribute.
I think authors who have agents and publicists to do all of the hard work have it real easy, they only have to sit at home and hope everyone else gets their job done. There is a lot more pressure when you are the one doing the work!
Let's see how long it takes before September disappears too!
Have a nice one!

This Indie publishing adventure has been one thrilling moment after another.  So here they are, our covers for GIVIN' UP THE GHOST and NEVERLOVE by Gwen Gardner and Angela Brown, respectively.

Corona ZschusschenFriend or Foe?

Murder victim Bart Bagley is not content to merely roll over in his grave. He wants his murderer caught and he wants teenage ghost whisperer, Indigo Eady, to help him.

It becomes obvious that Bart’s temper lead to more than one disagreement, but is it enough to want him dead? With nothing but a cold trail and a hot list of “friendly” suspects, Indigo and her friends race to find the killer before they become the next victims.

Indigo Eady is not clumsy. At least, that’s what she keeps telling everyone. Can she help that the overactive spirit community of Sabrina Shores causes her psychic abilities to short-circuit? It’s unfortunate that her cute new friend Badger is often on the receiving end of her mishaps. At times, she is positively hazardous to his health. Even so, sparks start to fly in more than one direction...

Heather McCorckle of CP Designs
For seventeen-year-old Abigail, one rash decision leads to an unexpected chance for redemption. At V'Salicus Academy, a unique institute where she trains to become an agent of heaven, she struggles with the pain of her past, the changes of the present and accepts a loveless future until her path – and heart – crosses with Basil’s.

Basil's off-chance slip of the tongue binds him to a life of servitude to the Devourer, the master of hell. His existence has no upside until a chance meeting with Abigail brings new perspective.

Keeping the truth of their present lives from each other brings disaster when secrets are brought to light and the life of Abigail’s mentor is put on the line.

Can Abigail and Basil save her mentor and salvage their love amid the chaos? Or will they lose it all, destined forever to NEVERLOVE?

About the authors:
Haunt me: FB, Blog, Goodreads
Gwen Gardner

Running, writing and reading are my favorite things.

I am also a dreamer.

Have you ever told yourself that "some day" I'm going to travel or write or whatever it is that you are passionate about but can't do right now for whatever reason? You can go for years and years and keep telling yourself that "some day" you'll do it. Too often "some day" never comes. But mine did. I am a former Administrative Manager and Vice President of a successful swimming pool plastering company - until I woke up one day and realized that my "some day" had arrived. I quit my job, moved to the mountains and began to write. Crazy, I know. But even crazier? Is when you get to the end of your life and realize that your "some day" is too late. Life is much too short for that! So the adventure has begun.

GIVIN' UP THE GHOST is a YA paranormYA cozy mystery, the first in the Indigo Eady series, due out October 8, 2012.

Haunt me FB, Blog, Goodreads
Angela Brown

Reading and writing have been lifelong passions. It was around the time I gave birth to my forever-love, nicknamed Chipmunk, that I really took writing seriously. After all, how could I teach my child to follow her dreams if I hadn't tried myself?

As a YA fantasy/sci-fi reader and author, I favor the magical, mysterious, the darker side of life...even harbor a secret fright for things that go bump in the night.

NEVERLOVE is a special project spawned from a blog-challenge-turned-blog-opera, the Abby and Basil affair. It is the first in the Shadow Jumpers series and due out October 8, 2012.

Vallar VallarbyCindy Borgne

BLURB:

Sixteen year old Ian Connors is a psychic working for Marscorp, the biggest bully organization on Mars. His job is to use his ability to uncover secrets or hidden bases of other organizations so the Marcs can conquer them. Even though he’s been brought up to believe this is normal, he soon discovers the ugly reality of war. He hates the suffering and death caused by a vision he reported to the admiral. Ian feels responsible after finding a hidden base of a small organization that was only trying to survive.

In order to redeem himself, Ian vows to never let anyone use his ability for death and destruction again. His goal is to escape and live in peace, but the leaders monitor him closely and defectors are known to mysteriously disappear. Despite his age, inexperience and few allies, he refuses to give up. He must outwit a cunning admiral and a powerhouse organization, or he will remain a pawn and forever separated from those he loves.

My Teaser: I searched for a place to hide, spotted one hill not too far away and accelerated for it. The engine reamed with a winding sound. I gripped the control stick so tightly my knuckles had to be white under my gloves. “Hurry!” Nate yelled. “It’s coming.”

I WRITE FRIDAY#FLASH

As Dark as Night
(Part 4)
By Carolyn Brown
(The final instalment to a Paranormal short tale -750 words approx.)

“Jason please, settle down.  We are here to help you.”“I don’t want your help! I don’t want this, any of this! I said let me OUT!”Dianne placed her hand on Mason’s arm and nodded her head.  He looked across at her with questioning eyes, but pulled the car over to the side of the road as Jason had demanded. As soon as the car stopped, Jason jumped across Abe’s lap and was out of the car in an instant.  Diane also exited the vehicle and he found himself looking straight at her when he straightened his posture to stand on the footpath.
“Jason please, nothing has changed between us.  I have always been and hope to still be your friend,” she said, placing her hand gently on his forearm in a friendly gesture.
“Just leave me alone Diane.  I need to process this, okay?
“Sure, sure Jason, I will be waiting to hear from you.  Take care of yourself, okay.”  She turned, got back into the car and the group departed, leaving Jason to walk home alone.
As he walked back in the direction of his house, Jason thought about these changes affecting him and what they would mean to his life now and in the future.  He was concerned about the disadvantages his new form would mean to his plans to go the college and make something of himself.  He had already been struggling in his classes and focusing on school work was becoming more difficult.Jason was so involved with his own thoughts that he did not see Brett standing on the corner, just in front of him.
“It looks like your new buddies soon got sick of you too, hey freak!”
Jason tried to ignore the comment and crossed the road to try to avoid another confrontation, he knew Brett would instigate. But soon enough Brett had caught up with him and was doing his best to antagonise Jason by throwing snide comments at his back.
A few blocks from his home, Jason turned to Brett, “Dude, what is your problem?”
“You.”
Jason knew that unless he stood up to Brett, the bullying would continue.  He had tried to ignore him, hoping that he would give up and leave him alone, it just did not seem to be working.
“Listen Brett, I really have had enough of you.  I’m giving you your last chance to leave me alone!”“Oh! I’m so scared.” Brett snarled back at Jason.
Anger mounted inside Jason, he had heard enough.   Good sense reminded him to continue ignoring Brett, but a new animalistic instinct was erupting inside of Jason, one he could not control.  He found himself shrugging off his backpack to the ground and standing in a hunched over position, ready to spring at Brett, like a cat, in an instant.
Brett just laughed at this gesture, not at all concerned about fighting Jason.
Jason waited for Brett to make the first move.  While he waited he noticed how time seemed to stand still and he was able to see Brett’s moves in slow motion.  His senses were all heightened, he could hear, smell, see and anticipate everything.
Then, just as he was savouring this new experience, Brett threw his first punch which connected with Jason’s face.  Caught off guard, Jason stumbled a couple of paces from the blow.  He soon recovered and sprung at Brett with the full force of his body, knocking him to the ground.  Like a lion, Jason found himself standing over Brett on his hands and feet, looking straight into his eyes.  He felt them change and knew Brett could see they were catlike.  Jason didn’t care, that Brett would see their difference, he wanted to scare Brett, to try to stop him from tormenting others.
Brett struggled to disengage himself from Jason’s body, but found that he was pinned to the ground, unable to move. “Look man, what the hell are you?”
“Someone, you should think twice about, before messing with again.”
The look on Brett’s face said it all. He was shocked and scared. When Jason released him, he brushed the dirt from his cloths, wiped the grime from his hand and held it out to Jason.
Jason considered not shaking it for a moment, but then decided against antagonizing Brett further, he really just wanted to be left alone.

The End
