OCTOBER FRATERFREST READ-A-THON

October!!Wow, just where has this year gone!
I have achieved quite a bit this month. I have released my second book in The Protector Series, celebrated my first year anniversary as a Blogger. My first book has been published for 12 months, I also celebrated my own birthday (but I am definitely not going to reveal my age!) and I am at the moment enjoying my very first long service leave from my day job. 
So you would think that I would have nothing to be insecure about, wouldn't you?
Wrong!!!
I am feeling insecure now because I have learned so much in my first year through connecting with all of you, that I think I need to re-publish my first book. I know I could do a better job of it!  I didn't even realize this was possible until just recently, when I found out that a typical author resubmits their work an average of four times in the first year after publishing!
Well that will be my first job next month.
I have received such wonderful support from all of you with the launch that I also feel insecure about whether I have helped enough throughout the year to support your releases and blog fests.  It is very hard to get around to everyone's websites as much as I would like as I have a full time job where blogging, facebook, twitter, tumblr and any other social networks are banned! I really don't know how Alex achieves this amazing feat! He really is an outstanding person.
Ah now, there's another insecurity and I wish to say sorry if you think I have neglected you at any time!
 But, before I start to depress myself and all of you, I would like to say thanks. Thanks for the kind words and support throughout the year and the help you have all given me in my continuing journey to improve and achieve my goals.

EXCERPT: 

As the stable hand, handed Brimstone’s reigns to Jazz, her eyes danced with excitement and her face showed how happy she was to be riding such a magnificent animal.  Brimstone was a dappled white mare with glossy black wings and hooves.  Her horn was also black with broken white lines like marble crisscrossing around its length.  She had a long black and white mane and tail and huge brown eyes covered in long black lashes.
I helped Jazz up into her saddle and Brimstone let out a whinny as if to welcome her.  I then made sure her feet were in the stirrups correctly and the girth was tightly secured, before I mounted my own beast.  When everyone was mounted and ready to depart, we took off in a westerly direction towards the Sanctuary.
There was only a small amount of wispy pink clouds in the sky today, the moon sat low on the horizon, its majestic blue glory shinning down upon the land, shading it in a pinkish, purple colour.I had chosen a perfect day for this family adventure.
I flew across to Jazz as we neared the summit where the Sanctuary stood.  I wanted to see her face, when she first gazed upon the beauty of this magical place.  “Jazz, not much further now.  We will soon begin descending, just stay low in the saddle and lean across Brimstone’s neck and hold on.  There is no need to steer or pull on the reigns Brimstone will naturally pull up and land where she feels comfortable.”
“Er, okay.  What stops me from falling over the top of her head?”  Jazz had a look of total fear upon her face.  I wanted her to relax so that she would take in the view as we drew nearer.“Just draw your knees in close to her flanks, she won’t mind if you grasp her mane, if you think you need to.  You’ll be alright, I promise.”  I said with a smile, trying to relieve her tension.
Auron began to lead our party down lower and as we turned to pass a ridge of mountain, the Sanctuary rose before us.  I quickly looked over at Jazz, her face showed her astonishment, as she looked around the scene before her.
The actual building stood near the top of the following summit, but what I wanted Jazz to see was the green grass which spread across a flat plain filled with a variety of trees, majestically reaching their limbs towards the blue moon.
In the distance just before the Sanctuary sat a crystal clear blue lake, which I knew was filled with colourful fish.  The moon was reflecting its deep blue cast upon the surface and the water’s surface shimmered with the movement of the fish.
As our steeds retracted their wings and landed upon the ground, they broke into a gallop, before slowing to a stop near the edge of the lake.
I looked across at Jazz and my heart leapt at the sight of her amazed expression as a flock of winged creatures similar to large butterflies, escaped the long grass beside us to travel to a nearby tree.  This close to the trees, we could view the exotic flowers of Aidensdein blooming from vines which crept their way up to the tree tops.
I moved my mount nearer, “Do you like my favourite place in this world?”  I asked Jazz.“Yes, oh yes Seb.  It is beautiful.  Why have you not shown me this before?”“The time was not right, before.”  I answered.  “Come, we are heading to the heart of the Sanctuary near the top of the summit, across the other side of the lake.”“Why can’t we just fly there?”“There is no room to land the Pegasoi Aithiopes on the top of the summit.”“How do we cross the lake?”“You will see.”
Auron was again the first to head to the edge of the water, at full gallop, crying out loudly as he took off, “Watch this Jazz!  As soon as the first hoof of his animal landed upon the water a smooth flat rock rose to the surface, another followed soon after to hold the weight of the horse’s next hoof.  Some of the Protectors followed Auron across, others waited while Nicola crossed before them.  The Royal Guardians moved their mounts to position themselves behind Jazz and me, as we approached the water’s edge.
As I felt my steed’s hoof hit the stones surface, fond memories of my childhood swept over me and I was caught up in an emotional moment as I shared this moving experience with Jazz and my children.  It wasn’t long before we reached the outskirts of the Sanctuary building, which was protected by an invisible army of stone like warriors.  They bowed their heads as our party passed by their stations on the path to the entrance.
I noticed Jazz turn back to look down at the plain we had just passed through and I was amused by the look on her shocked face.“What?  Where did it go?”I turned to look but knew I would only see a crimson coloured landscape with a lake full of red water.Jazz turned to me and asked, “Was it an illusion?”“No, it was real.  What you see now is an illusion.”“Huh?”“It is how the Sanctuary is protected from unwanted intruders.  There is only one path in and the secret is one only certain families know.”
I guided Jazz to turn around and continue our path towards the Sanctuary’s majestic structure standing before us.  A sacred place where our religion was strong, and also where my ancestors were laid to rest.
We gathered together before entering through the main gates.  I noticed that two of the Protectors had closed their ranks tighter around Jazz.  When I looked closely I recognized the pair.  Zane and Grayson had joined our outing.  Since their time as Jazz’s constant guards on Earth, when I was unable to be with her, these two Protectors had taken it upon themselves to be her main body guards and friends.
I felt no jealousy towards Jazz’s obvious affections for both of them.  I only felt a gladness that if my presence was missing at a time when she could be in danger, that thankfully, someone other than myself would stand before her and defend her safety.
I knew that one of the two, the one with white blond dreadlocks, Grayson, his name was, had also played a part in delivering Waratah safely into the world, when Jazz had gone into premature labour, during the attack on the Palmwoods house.
I met Jazz’s eyes with a smile and she casually moved Brimstone to be at my side.  Grayson and Zane followed her movement, staying close behind her.  “Are you ready to enter?  We are expected and the priests will be gathered to grant us a blessing as part of our wedding ceremony.”“Sebastian, why did you not tell me this before?”
“I wanted it to be a surprise.”

And sent the emails!



Have also been critiquing work for my partners!
And was able to participate in most of the Blog Hops
I signed up for,
but this was the area that took the fall this month
as I just did not have the time to
participate as much as I would have liked!

My favourite movie genre would definitely have to be :

 Science Fiction/Horror

           


 My favourite genre in Music, now this is hard to pinpoint as I am drawn to a wide variety of genres, from Hard Rock, Punk to Indie.

I suppose I would have to say Alternate Rock, 
(some might call it nu-metal),
 as my favourite bands are:

Lincoln Park
Incubus
Breaking Benjamin 
Anberlyn
Paramore
Evanescene 

The list could just keep going,
but I think you will have an understanding about the music I like.


My favourite genre in Book/s:


 Well this question is easy, I love Paranormal Romance.

My office wall is lined with black covers, sporting Old English fonts to mark their titles.
Having to say which series is my favourite would be challenging, but if I was honest,
I suppose I would have to say :

The Twilight Series 










 A close second would be
The Hithicker's Guide to the Galaxy

 SEXEXCERPT, FROM HE CAME FOR MINE:(A Little Taste from My New Book To Be Released on the 1st October 2012)

I sat on the edge of the bed, nursing Auron in my arms, his little eyes began to close within a few moments.  I placed him in his cot, kissed him gently on the forehead and turned to leave the room to find Seb watching me from the doorway, watching my every movement.

I made my way into the lounge to find him following me close behind.  “Jazz, I’ve missed you!”  With these words he gathered me into his arms and began kissing me.


We embraced each other, kissing passionately with ferocity, each of us longing for the others body!  As our passion rose Seb began removing my clothes and kissed the most sensitive areas of my body as I totally gave into his love.


We made love to each other in the lounge.  Both of us fiercely locking into the others body as we moved together in rhythm, taking one another to great heights of ecstasy!  Then we headed quietly to the bedroom, being careful not to wake Auron.

Seb and I lay quietly in each other’s arms, content to hold one another.  I felt so happy to be lying there in his embrace.  My problems ceased to exist with him here beside me.  I looked up to find him looking at me.  I lifted my body slightly to plant a kiss upon his lips and whispered, “I love you!”
Seb kissed me back saying, “Jazz I have always loved you and I still do!”
This was all it took for us to make love again, this time at my point of orgasm, Seb found the vein in my neck and bit, taking a taste of my blood.  In the height of my passion I found that my new fangs extended and I also sank these new extensions of mine into a vein pulsing in his chest.
This was my first bight as a semi-vampire and I could feel my body react as I drew Seb’s blood into me.  A vision began, and I saw flashes of Seb’s world once again.  It looked different now!  Aidensdein had been transformed!  Seb had inspired a new beginning in the city after demolishing the damaged buildings and had constructed a totally different style of city!
The sparkling gold was there, but the buildings were more typical of modern times on Earth.  Sky scrapers stood reaching for the pink toned sky and reflected back the image of the huge blue moon from a type of darkened glass.  It was beautiful, I was so caught up in what I was seeing that Seb had to gently pry me from him.  I moved up his body until I was able to kiss him on the lips.  He caught me in his arms and with our bodies entwined around one another we both fell asleep.
