Rex Cresting (Elei's Chronicles #2) byChrystalla ThomaStill recovering at a hospital on the north coast of Dakru, Elei is convinced that his part in bringing down the Gultur is over. Rex has infected the other race and their dictatorial system is starting to collapse. Not every Gultur, though, has been affected, and on top of that, inside Elei's body, Rex has matured and goes through another transformation. Elei isn't sure he can survive Rex's new strength -- but that may prove the last of his worries as the Gultur descend on him again.
MY TEASER:
His pulse leaped, the room lit up in a dizzying sequence, and the woman’s shriek threatened to split his eardrums. He backed out, swallowing hard, his heart slamming against his ribs. Voices rang farther to his right, at the stairwell. He limped into the next room and found it unoccupied. He stared at the empty bed, trying to gather his wits.

"LETTING GO": BLOG HOP
Kyra Lennon is celebrating the release of her novel - If I Let You Go, by holding a "Letting Go" Bloghop. She has asked for the participants to share stories about someone or something they have had to let go in their lives. Asking to express their feelings about the event.
If this is too personal, posting a piece of Flash Fiction is acceptable.
I have decided to share a personal story, so here goes....
When I was in my early twenties, I believed I was deeply in love. The magic between us was intense. This was one relationship before I met the man I married.
I travelled with this person in a beat up old Kombie and shared a nomadic lifestyle during the three years we were together. We enjoyed the perfect relationship (if there is such a thing), and an easy going lifestyle.
At one point in our travels, we were forced to find jobs as the money came to an end. I found a job with the Health Department, but my love had difficulty obtaining employment.
This was when the relationship started to break down, the fantasy came to an end and reality set in. After a time of unemployment he pursued a job at the mines, which meant long periods apart, so we decided to break up, and after some heartbreak, I let him go!

EXPRESS YOURSELF
EXPRESS YOURSELF THE WEEKLY MEME HOSTED BY JACKIE@BOUQUET OF BOOKS AND DANI@ENTERTAINING INTERESTSTHIS WEEK THE QUESTION ASKED IS: WHAT LANGUAGE WOULD YOU LIKE TO SPEAK AND WHY?
This is something I haven't ever really thought about as I found learning French in High School quite a challenge! It was more the writing side of it that I struggled with, not exactly the spoken words. I do still remember a little bit.
This is going to sound strange, but as I am writing the answer to this Meme, the language I would most like to be able to understand has come to me - I would really like to be able to understand and speak Klingon. I know it is a bit geeky, but I really like Star Trek and it would be great to be able to understand the Klingon language.
Image from Grow-a-brainI would be able to sit down with my other Geeky friends and play Klingon Scrabble!

DID I NOTICE YOUR BOOK BLOGFEST!
Did I Notice Your Book Blogfest, October 17, 2012
Post about a book you’ve noticed.
You can choose a book that you’ve read, something you saw on a blog or social media site, Goodreads, or a sales website. Anything that caught your eye because of a great cover, blurb or reviews, but DON’T tell the author that their book has been noticed. Instead, shout out on social media sites, and encourage others to do the same, until the author finds his/her book.
Leave a blog comment at Ninja Captain Alex http://alexjcavanaugh.blogspot.com/ or Ciara Knight http://www.ciaraknight.com/blog/ when the author finds their book.
I have chosen
Until Next TimeThe Angel Cronicles by Amy Lignor
How does a girl choose between the one who steals her heart and the one who owns her soul?
Matt and Emily were created for a specific job. Raised and trained as the ultimate angel/warrior team, they are sent down to save, defend, judge and forgive, depending on the 'life' they've been assigned. What they don't realize is that the power of human emotions, such as love, anger, passion and fear can take over even the best of souls, causing them to make mistakes and follow paths that lead to confusion and heartache.
When the reason for their training is finally revealed, the angel/warrior team find themselves thrust into a world they know nothing about. Matt takes over the life of Daniel, a young man with a great deal of baggage. Emily becomes Liz, a girl living in a remote village who relies on nothing more than her own strength to survive. A violent storm erupts one night, and framed in the window of Liz's establishment is a frightening face. Let in by the soul of a Good Samaritan, the two visitors bring with them a past full of secrets that could literally change an angel's path and a warrior's plans. From murder to redemption, this angel/warrior team must find a way to keep the faith they have in each other in a world that's ripping them apart.
You can find Amy here: http://the-angel-chronicles.blogspot.com.au/
I love the cover of this book and the blurb is really interesting. Although I have not read the whole story yet, what I have read, has really intrigued me and I am looking forward to delving into the story deeper. Goodreads statistics show that the reviews of this book have averaged 3 to 4 out of 5, which is a pretty good rating and 89% of people who have read the book have liked it. Carolyn

Partners in ParanormYA Blog Tour AND Teaser Tuesday
Partners in ParanormYA Blog Tour
Today is a first for me as I have invited two busy ladies to my site Angela Brown and Gwen Gardner. Angela and Gwen have joined together to publicizhttp://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blog... the release of their new books Givin’ Up The Ghost and Neverlove.

This is the first time I have invited anyone to answer a few questions to post on my Blog. So, I hope you enjoy the interesting answers these ladies gave to my first interview!
First let's extend a warm welcome to Gwen Gardner:
Gwen, will you please share a little bit about yourself? Thanks, Carolyn. I’m a late bloomer, so to speak. When I was growing up, college was for rich kids, so I never even considered it. I spent years in mortgage lending, and when I was laid off in a downturn, my husband suggested I go to college. I graduated when I was 41. It opened a whole new world - writing. Now, at 52, I’m publishing my first book. What inspired you to create a partnership with Angela?I had been a follower of Angela’s for quite a while (lol, why does that sound cultish?). I particularly visited a lot during the A-Z because I really enjoyed her Abby and Basil blog opera. And of course, if you know Angela, then you know how warm and genuine she is. We got to talking about being critique partners, and when I mentioned I was going to self-publish soon, the whole partnership just sort of evolved from there.
Since developing the partnership what have you learned about Angela?Angela is the most awesome idea generator! Also, it’s not often you get to actually speak to blogging friends, but Angela and I have spoken several times on the phone. Her voice is just as warm and kind as the impression you get from her blogging persona.
Please share a little about your new book you have released? Givin’ Up The Ghost is a young adult paranormal “cozy” mystery. Indigo Eady, the MC, is a ghost whispering psychometry-reading, psychic whose “gifts” continually backfire, resulting in a number of mishaps.
Would you like to share a blurb or an excerpt? Here’s the end of the first chapter, the scene that really kicks off the focus of the book:
Blood rushed to my head and roared in my ears, like a dam bursting its seams. I started to remember things, like Badger’s father had gone missing, possibly ran away with his secretary. That’s why Badger hadn’t been around lately, he was helping take care of his siblings and now the pub. And sitting here on the end barstool in the Blind Badger was the missing Bart Bagley. Correction. The missing, dead, Bart Bagley.Oh Crap.
Which character would you choose as you’re favourite and why?Indigo is definitely my favorite. She’s sweet, caring, witty - and more than a little accident prone.
Gwen, where do we find your new book and how can we connect with you?On Amazon , Facebook , Twitter , my Blog, and Partner’s in ParanormYA .
Thank you, Carolyn, for hosting us today!
Thanks Gwen, for sharing your answers with us, now let's give a warm welcome to Angela:
Angela would you like to explain to my readers why you decided to be a writer?Sure, Carolyn. I know it’s cliché. But writing has always been a dream, one that I didn’t pursue until I was blessed with my little girl. I wanted her to know that it was important to strive for her dreams yet I hadn’t done so myself. So, instead of talking the talk, I decided to walk the walk and pursue writing seriously. How did you meet/ or connect with Gwen?We connected online. I originally remember friending her as a blog on the Writer’s Platform Building Campaign then continuing to follow and comment at her blog.
What sparked the partnership for you?It was August 2nd. She and I were e-mailing back and forth about the possibility of me critiquing Givin’ Up The Ghost because I was interested and offered to do so. She mentioned wanting it done so she could try to self-publish her novel around the first of October, this year. Well, I’d be leaning – strongly – to self-publish Neverlove and mentioned that it might be cool to self-publish and market together so we’d have each other to lean on. Things took off from there.
Would you advise other authors to develop a similar partnership to you and Gwen to join forces in marketing?Honestly, yes. There are so many groups that gather to support each other, and that is what a partnership is all about. You have at least one other person who understands what you’re going through with each step of the publication and marketing process.
Please share something from your new book which you believe your readers will connect with. The main characters, Abby and Basil, are unique in the pains that lead to the changes in their lives and have unique voices. Both will take the reader on an emotional ride as they deal with the changes in their lives. In Basil’s case, it would be a not-so-alive-life J
Is there an excerpt from the book you would like to share with us?I’d love to: Here something from the first chapter ~The following morning, sunshine filtered through her blinds and mottled her bedroom floor. The beautiful day beyond her window could not break the perfect storm that consumed Abigail. She struggled, pained in all the wrong places, and got out of bed. Glancing at her clock, she knew she had the house all to herself. She pressed a finger to her cheek and moaned at the soreness. Abigail trained all her thoughts on putting one foot in front of the other, leaning on the wall for support. She was determined to make it to her parents’ bathroom if it killed her.Ironic, since that was her intent anyway.Minutes passed to an hour when Abigail finally sank into her parents’ claw foot tub. Steam rose in white, smoky wisps from the water’s surface. Stinging warmth seeped into her skin, her pores taunted open by the heat. Just the thing to cleanse her father from her system. Release the filth of his still-lingering touch. Not that it would matter soon. After last night, she’d made up her mind. Seventeen wasn’t such a bad age to die.
So Angela, what is next for you?More writing. I have work to do on the sequel to Neverlove and quite a few other WiPs that have been waiting patiently for me to get some words added to them.
Please give details on where we can find you and your new book? You can find me at my blog, Angela Brown in Pursuit of Publishness , Twitter (@neostateofmind ), Partners in ParanormYA blog and FB and my FB page

This week I have decided to give a Teaser from both books of the author's I have as guests on my Blog today Gwen Gardner and Angela Brown.
Teaser One:
I watched Simon as he processed the information. To say my revelation required digesting was an understatement. It’s not every day your best friend’s dad dies, someone who’d been a fixture in your life, and I’m sure Simon was reeling from this unfortunate news.

BLURB:
A modern day medieval village teeming with spirit activity is no place for sixteen-year-old psychic and ghost whisperer Indigo Eady. Not when all she wants is to forget about these supposed gifts. After all, when needed most, it didn’t help save her father.
After her father’s death, Indigo moves to a new town and has the chance to start over where nobody knows about her psychic abilities. Hiding her secret is easy until the ghost of Bart Bagley ruins everything by barging in and begging her to solve his murder. Tempted to ignore him, she only relents because he was the father of her new friend, Badger. That and the survivor’s guilt she feels over her own father’s death.
A murder investigation is hard enough without the disruption of interfering ghosts and a mysterious soul collector with her name topping its list. But when Indigo’s psychic abilities short-circuit, sparks start to fly in more than one direction. The resulting mishaps compromise the success of the investigation and put the budding but fragile attraction between Indigo and Badger at risk.
When the body count mounts and a suspect ends up dead, Badger becomes a “person of interest" and they must surge ahead to solve the murders before they become the next victims.
Teaser Two:
A light dizziness swam in her head. Won’t be much longer now. Each slip of her eyelids brought darkness, but re-opened to the world of the living. She let them close again, tensing at the metallic scent wafting beneath her nose. When she opened her eyes again, her heartbeat quickened. Her body shifted, splashing scarlet water onto the white tiled floor. Shadowy forms rose up from the pool surrounding her.

MY FRATERFEST CHALLENGE WINNER
For my challenge for Fraterfest I asked participants to guess what would happen at the end of an excerpt I posted from my newly released book He Came For Mine, Book Two in 'The Protector Series,' I was intending to give away one free ebook copy to the closest answer.
So here is a little more of the excerpt, showing what actually did take place between Seb and Jazz.
Seb pulled me into his arms and kissed me trying to comfort me, trying to stop my crying. I kissed him back.
Our kisses became more intense and soon we were stripping away each others clothes, as we looked to comfort one another. Our passion rose and as my back arched, Seb slipped himself into me. He carried me across the room with my legs wrapped around his muscular torso, until he found a comfortable position, eventually placing me down across the top of the desk, brushing everything off with a clash to the floor.
Immediately he began thrusting against me. I squealed with delight and leaned into his body, my teeth protruding to bite into his neck. At the same instant Seb found a vein on my wrist and as we continued to bring one another to ecstasy we took each other’s blood!
Afterwards, we lay together on the day lounge, wrapped in each others arms. Our pent up emotions somewhat released with our furious lovemaking.
Although no one actually guessed this scenario, I have decided the closest answer amongst the entrants came from:
Barbara W.7 October 2012 05:15Unable to bear her pleading (and realizing that he couldn't give her up anyway), Seb vows that he won't separate her from Auron and he'll find some way to protect her at Aidensdein.
Ta da!
Barbara did actually state that Seb could not give her up.

Congratulations Barbara, I will contact you via email soon!

SYNOPSIS:
This book continues the story of Jazz and Sebastian's fated love affair. Sebastian abandoned Jazz at the end of book one and returns to his home world of Aidensdein, which was burned to the ground when Jazz escaped from his nemesis Brennan. He is kept busy rebuilding the city and restoring order to his people.
Unfortunately, Jazz is left alone to transform into a part-vampire and deliver their child on her own. Seb, of course does not know that she is even pregnant when he leaves her. As Jazz tries to survive the changes to her own body and raise a young vampire, she finds herself being drawn into a relationship with someone who looks very much like Seb. Can she trust this stranger, or should she be wary?
EXCERPT:
Seb led me into the Library and headed over to a day bed located next to a window, which overlooked the pool area. Sitting down next to each other with our backs to the book lined walls, I felt very overwhelmed by the opulent lifestyle Seb was accustomed to. I was not used to being around such grandeur and I found myself feeling very intimidated.
“Jazz, I’ve been putting off this conversation since I got back, but there are things you need to hear! You may not like what I am going to say, but it is a necessary outcome of our lives together.”
I did not answer. I just sat there numbly waiting for his spoken words.
Seb began, “When I left before, when we made love and I bit you and you drank my blood, I had hoped that you would fall pregnant.” He paused drew in a breath before continuing. “I had been to one of our worlds most trusted authoritarians, to find out if it was at all possible for us to have a child. I did plan it, in a way, but I never planned for you to be left here alone, to fend for yourself! That was just an unforeseen circumstance!”
“Seb, do you mean you were intending to stay?” I asked. He nodded in reply.
“I was not planning for the uprise against Brennan and I did not expect for Aidensdein to be burned to near annihilation. These acts were out of my control. I had hoped that you would fall pregnant with my child, but I did not intentionally decide to leave you here to fend for yourself. It was a spur of the moment decision that I made from the guilt of leaving my family and friends to suffer alone, unsupported. I did not know you would become pregnant so easily and had every intention of returning to you as soon as I could.” Seb paused for a moment before continuing.
“At that time I did not know about the uniting ritual. I found out only recently from reading the old records, I had uncovered during the rebuilding of Aidensdein, that a son born between human and vampire must ‘unite’ with an adult of similar gender and it is best done with one of a similar gene to that of the father.”
“What do you mean, ‘unite’, Seb?” I asked.
“I or another male vampire needs to feed from Auron and Auron needs to feed from the adult male, who he unites with. He will need to continue this exchange during the developmental years of his life or he will weaken and quite possibly die! As he is still an infant, he has slowed his growth rate until the time of uniting, apparently his first birthday is a critical point in the process. Jazz, I swear I did not know. I would have been here sooner, if I knew you were carrying our child.”
“But Seb, I still do not understand why you stayed away for so long?” I asked hoping to hear an answer I could relate too.
“It really was unintentional, I only meant to return to find out if my family had survived. Then I saw just how much work needed to be done, and I just could not leave until some order had been restored. My father, not being capable of bringing about order, in the state his mind he was in, it was left to me to bring the city under control and rebuild. By then time here had moved ahead and I had left it too long to come back.”
“For your protection I had the portholes sealed and allowed no-one to enter this world, but when I discovered this information about the uniting ceremony I decided to come myself to check on you. When I discovered you with Ryan, I was heartbroken, but I blamed myself for leaving you alone for so long! I had no idea that Ryan was playing some game of his own! Watching you and with the information I had discovered, I had to help you, I had to be with you! I am so sorry.” He tried to wrap me in his arms, but I pulled away from him and he continued on.
“Jazz, after the uniting takes place, Auron will not be able to live here on Earth, he will need to return to my world.”
“Wh…Wha..Why, Seb, what are you saying?”
“He will grow quickly and noticeably, and if he stays here, he may become unmanageable! He will have a blood lust which will be uncontrollable and if left here on Earth, it will cause him only pain and insanity! Jazz, I will need to take him back, do you understand? I will need to go back with him. I won’t be able to stay here with you, even though in my heart that is all I have ever desired!”
“Seb, what, what do you mean?” I screamed.
“I am going to have to return to Aidensdein with our son, Jazz. I cannot take you back with us, my world is not ready to forgive what damage was caused at your expense, and I would not risk your safety!”
Seb tried to reason with me, but I was not going to give in that easily. Hysterically, I kneeled in front of him, clutching his knees! “No, Seb you can’t. You cannot leave me again, please do not take my son! Please, Seb!”
