I'm Not Distracted... I'm Just Not Working On My Dream.
I've heard this phrase many times in my life and it generally goes like this "so when are you going to stop dreaming?" Even after I've spent hours writing, and reading and working on books, I still hear that phrase.
I'm sure we're all familiar with the old Churchill quote of "never ever give up," but what does that mean to a person who has tried harder to do something that they have always

Distractibility and the Modern Writer
I
don’t know about you, but I have always had trouble concentrating or focussing
deeply on something for extended periods of time. I tend to get distracted

undiagnosed pathology of this symptom, I find it is pretty common among my creative
friends: artists of all kinds from singers to writers to

Using The Compass With the Challenges I'm Given
When life hands you lemons make lemonade.
I'm sure we've all heard that old line. Like most people I never understood that concept, I understood that we all have challenges in our lives, and that we should be positive, and learn from them. Challenges are a guide, a compass in building a life you want. This applies to writing, but it also applies to life.
I want to become a better

Guest Blogger Michelle: Writing Fan Fiction
Hello! I am Michelle,

Just the fact that I am

Guest Blogger: A Little Help From Friends
Friends are always needed when writing or editing or publishing, so without anymore of us writing our thanks, here is the lovely Breann on that very topic:
When Rebecca asked me to write a blog entry for her writing blog I was a little nervous. I’m not very good with people, I never know what to write about, but she reassured me, without knowing so, that it would be an easy task and that I

Navigating the Tumultuous Waters of a Busy Life
Recently
I started a new internship, which means my mornings start about an hour and a
half earlier than usual. The other day I spent eight hours at work, went to the gym, had a
rehearsal, then a volleyball game, and finally made it home for midnight only
to have to do it all over again in just six and a half hours. My friends make
fun of me a lot for how busy I keep my

Guest Blogger Shelly (Shellysbees): Writing, Passion and Fanfiction
Hey there. My name is Shelly, more commonly known as ShellysBees on tumblr and twitter. When I was given the opportunity to write a piece for this blog I found myself at an impasse. There were a few things I wanted to discuss, all of which were related to how Rebecca knows me, and why she asked me to do a guest blog.
That’s right, we’re talking about Fanfiction.

Guest Blogger Charles E Wells: Writing and "Typos" and Having F-U-N!
By Charles E Wells
I'd like to thank Rebecca Emrich for
letting me share my opinions on her blog but be careful, I have a
tricky sense of humor and I'm not afraid to use it. My first question
to her when I accepted was, "What do I write?" I can best
explain my concern with a short poem I wrote back in high school for
an English teacher who requested an essay.
