Fading Away by Dannielle Wicks #newrelease

One stupid mistake.
Changes everything.
SAMMY STEVENS was tragically orphaned at the age of nine and sent to live with a foster family in the town of Miakoda Falls.
She’s constantly bullied at school by the arrogant, selfish, one and only… KAI JORDAN.
Kai is your typical entitled teen who’s on the verge of attending a university and having everything he ever wanted handed to him.
But all that changes when he is involved in a car accident after a night of partying…
He’s suddenly and painfully brought into the world of the supernatural.
Kai turns to the last person he ever would’ve expected, Sammy, as he struggles with his new identity and watches the people closest to him move on. And he is forgotten.
As Kai and Sammy grow closer, Kai must figure out a way to either fight to stay human or risk being stuck forever, as a prisoner of his own body…

Destined For A Dirt Road by Ashley Johnson

A year ago Beau Granger let Shayleigh Dougherty turn his world upside down. Little does he know she’s about to do it all over again…
Love.
It’s the one thing Shayleigh has been scared to feel and the minute she allows herself to feel it, she runs leaving Beau behind in Louisiana to return home. She should have known Beau is not one to give up on what he wants.
Attempting to move on with her life, she meets the doctor Wyatt Perry…
He’s nothing like Beau, he’s rich and cocky and doesn’t like to take no for an answer. When Beau shows up in Missouri,
Will fate be able to keep them together or are things really better left on the dirt road?

She graduated high school in 2003 and then graduated college in 2008 with an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice.
She has a terrible addiction to Amazon and Google Play and owns more books than she will probably ever read, but can't resist a good story. When she's not reading or writing she loves to cook, that's what happens when living in Louisiana.
Ashley loves to read and write, so that's what she does now.

Letting things go...
Sometimes in life we start things, only to learn we weren't destined to do that thing. I recently went through this. This past fall, I stepped into a business type of adventure with a MLM company, thinking it was one of my callings. Not long into the venture, I began to feel like I was failing. Not only in the business, but I wasn't able to write. I felt like I was being pulled in all sorts of directions. If you want to succeed in a networking company, you really have to commit. It put me in a foul mood and began to hurt other aspects of my life. But I kept trying, watching others around me having success. I wanted it too, because then maybe I could write without the worry of book sales, but it wasn't coming naturally to me like it was others.
In February, I gave it one last big push and still...nada. I then decided to let it go temporarily and see how things in my life changed. Things began to perk up. I started to feel like me again.
I wasn't meant to do what I had tried. And you know what, there is nothing wrong with that. I didn't fail.
Sometimes it's hard to face the facts in life. We sit back and see people having such success at something and yet we're doing everything we can, just like them, and it's not coming.
Writing is my passion. I love to create stories and bring them to my readers. I think I've had some great success's along my journey as a writer. This is what feels right in my life, and I couldn't imagine doing anything different.
2015 is going to be a great year for my writing. I might only have a few releases scheduled so far, but they are going to be great books.
I hope you have a wonderful Monday!

"They have the connection, physical and emotion ... However, they left out some things from each other and that's the real dilemma here. It's all good because it ends nicely!" — Bookaholic Fairies
“Every time I was away from this book, I couldn't wait to get back to it. This is an amazing read...” Reader
“Melinda has done it again!!! I absolutely love the way that she makes us all swoon for her characters in her stories and not be able to put it down until we are done.” Reader Excerpt She pushed him against the armoire, opened his jacket, and her hands roamed over his dress shirt. Her long fingers trembled, and it reassured him that she didn’t always do this. Her words said one thing, but her actions conveyed another. She was a novice at seduction. He loved her hesitant yet obvious desire to lure him in.
He bent down the few inches to touch her lips with his. A lightning bolt of energy shot through his body. Her body was like heaven, her lips soft, pliable, accepting and eager. His heart beat faster and he hardened even more than he thought possible. Damn, it’d been too long.
He grabbed her waist, the curve of her hips under his fingers, and pushed her against the desk next to them. When her lips opened, he delved deeper with his tongue. She still tasted of whiskey and a whole other unique flavor. It turned him on more to know she had a taste that was all hers—and his for the night.
Her voice quavered when he pulled back. “I hope I’m doing this right.”
“Keep doing what you’re doing. It’s perfect.” Again, her uncertainty was a clear indication of who she truly was. She didn’t seduce him to get in the limelight. She wanted him for him, just as badly as he wanted her. About The Author

Fitness Friday - Beachbody Piyo complete!

I've completed the 8 weeks of the piyo workout schedule. Now to reflect back. The first few weeks, the workouts were fairly easy. In fact, I often did another cardio workout after because some of the beginner workouts didn't really get my heart rate going. By the time week 4 came around, the schedule wasn't playing anymore. And when the workout titled Drench came, I finally told the TV I hated it. 48 minutes! Eek! So, what were my results?
6 pounds and 5.5 inches!
To break it down I lost:
.5 in my waist
1.5 in my hips
1.25 in my left thigh and 1.75 in my right thigh
.25 in my triceps
.25 in my calves
I'd love to show off my before and after photos, but I did them half dressed so I could see the changes in my body. I won't be showing those here for privacy reasons. I will show you however my progress photo I have made in one year.

My very favorite workout is strength intervals.
If I can answer any questions about this workout, please let me know! Up next....Brazilian Butt Lift. I'm going to rock a bikini this summer.

Excerpt “I’ll admit I’ve had many women in the past, and I can’t apologize for living. But as the years went by, my feelings for you were always someplace deep in my heart. I know that’s why I can’t settle down. Why I can’t find the peace I’ve been searching for. It doesn’t exist without you.”
“How can you say things like that? You don’t even know the woman I’ve become. I’m not that girl who relied on you, the one who would’ve followed you anywhere. I’m not her anymore, Nic. I can’t ever be her again.”
“Maybe I’m not asking for her.” He leaned closer to her face. “Maybe I want to know the woman you are today. I want another shot at this.”
“No,” she whispered.
“If you remember anything about me, I have a hard time with that word.” He tipped her chin, focusing on her lips. “I am going to kiss you. Right here and right now.”
Her knees buckled as a cool tremor swept through her. She wanted to say no. It was the only logical word to mutter, but her heart didn’t want her to say it. Her body wasn’t on board with turning him down either. The warmth that built in her stomach had moved lower, and now all she could think about was his lips on hers.
“It doesn’t sound like you’re asking,” she breathed out.
“I’m not.”
Before she could say anything else, his mouth was on hers, eager, but slow and soft. His stubble grazed along her chin as he tilted his head and deepened their bond. The sound throughout the crowded lobby seemed to fade into the background, and soon, all she could hear was her heart pumping loud between her ears. Why did he have to be such a freakin’ good kisser?
After the incredibly long connection, he pulled away, but not before stopping to kiss the bottom corner of her mouth like he used to.
“I’ve waited a long time to do that,” he said. “It was worth every lonely minute.”
“I... Nic...” She’d always had the gift of words. It was what she did for a living, but in that moment, all of her thoughts were jumbled and senseless.
“It’s okay.” He grinned as he stroked her cheek. “Let’s get something to eat and maybe figure this out. Whatever this is.”
“No.” She ran her hands along his strong chest, resting them on his shoulders.
“Don’t over analyze this, baby.” He glanced down at her hands on his body. “Let’s just go with it.”
“That’s what I’m trying to tell you.” She took a breath and continued before she lost her nerve. “Take me upstairs to your room. I know how we can figure this out.”
“What are you asking?” He placed his hand on the small of her back, drawing her closer to him. “You need to be real clear.”
“I want to go upstairs with you.”
“That’s not why I kissed you.”
“Isn’t it?” She smirked. “We’re adults now, Nicky. Let’s settle this like adults.”
“I’m not looking to settle anything. That usually means it’s over, and we’re nowhere near over.” He motioned for Joe. “I’ll take care of the bar tab and then we’ll get dinner.”
“No.” She draped her arms around his neck, intoxicated by the idea of being so close to him again. He may be older now, and may have lost those boyish looks, but the man he had become suited him and drove her wild with need.
“What did I tell you about that word?”
“I can guarantee I won’t be using it once we’re in your bedroom.” She ran her tongue along her top lip. “I’m going to the ladies room. When I come out, if you’re not by the elevators waiting for me, I’ll know that kiss was nothing more than the heat of the moment and we can go on with our lives.”
“Sage?”
“Shh.” She pressed her lips to his. “Now who’s over analyzing?” She reached for her purse and coat hanging on the back of the stool. “I’ll see you in a few minutes.” I hope.

Fitness Friday - My progress and quotes to inspire you...

After that, I was a bit afraid of the scale. I pulled myself back together though on Wednesday and have done excellent since. Maybe I just needed a day off.

I wasn't sure what to expect. I was up a pounds last week, so I told myself if I at least lost that pound of bloat, I'd be happy.
Well, I lost that pound of bloat plus another 1.5! Yay! I was so happy and excited. :) :) :) Next up will be measurements. I have two weeks left on the Piyo workout program. I've enjoyed the program a lot, but I am ready for a change. And that change will be.....The Brazil Butt Lift program. Hoping I can work my bad spot.

Happy Friday!

What's going on in my book world?
Didn't I promise to blog more in the new year? I've come to realize I'm not always good at keeping some promises. I do the best I can, and I've learned to just accept that about myself. Anyway, it's been awhile since I've had a release--at least in the eBook world. November was my last release and that was The Temp 3. I had a busy fall with all 3 Temps releasing, Second Chance Holiday, Counting Cowboys, and Ticket To Love. However, the press Ticket To Love was with closed down. :( However, it has found a new home and will be back on the market very soon.
So what's coming up in releases? Take A Chance, Cowboy is coming out March 16th, 2015. I can't wait for this one to release (and it will be 99cents for the first 2 weeks). I'm working hard on the next book in the series too--Virgin, Cowboy. That's an exciting title name, huh? And yes, my hero is a virgin! He's been a lot of fun to write. I have a short story that will be in a psychic anthology. It's titled Psychic Set-Up. By the time I finished writing the short story, I could finally spell psychic. LOL - you should've seen the red lines of misspelled words in that one before I turned it into my editor. I will keep you up to date when I know that one is releasing.
What else is in store for 2015? I have NO IDEA. I don't have this year planned very well yet. I hope to have Virgin Cowboy in to my editor/publisher by March and hopefully I will get a summer release. I have been working on Unmistakable - book 2 in the Gentlemans Club. I put it aside AGAIN. I've been putting this book aside over and over for more than year. One of these days I will finish it. You, my dear reader, will meet the biggest asshole who will redeem himself, but it's a looooooooooog road.
I have a story I want to write too that I will be trying to find an agent with. Something I thought I would never do with where publishing is, but I think it's time I step up my career.
That's about it. Just hanging in there, writing when I can, and taking this writing thing day by day.
Hope you're doing well!

Fitness Friday - It's all about the shake...
I think at some point in our lives, we've all tried the slim fast diet. I failed at that one miserably. Even just one of their shakes a day left me starving. It was about 8 years ago that I tried that diet last, so maybe they've changed their formula since. After that, I said I'd never do the "shake" for a meal again. Well, that changed when I discovered it's much easier to make your own.
I usually craft mine own. I start with a cup of almond milk unsweetened. I add protein powder. I use
About Time
because it's only made with 4 ingredients and I can read them all. It does taste pretty good. Not as sweet as one you'd buy at a supermarket. I have supergreens that I usually add, you can get these from health food stores. Then I load in some fruit and a vegetable. I like to add zucchini as my vegetable because it's pretty much tasteless so it mingles well with any fruit. My favorite fruit to add is bananas and they make the shakes really creamy.
But because I craft my own shakes, I have the protein up around 25g or more, so I am left feeling full. Plus I know what I've put in there. About Time uses Stevia leaf for sweetening, so I am not adding a ton of sugar. And this works for me! I can drink one of these for lunch or breakfast and I'm good. I'm not starving later. And after I craft it, it's got a higher calorie range then slim fast (I think). Mine range from 250-375 if I add peanut butter. Which is a good range for a meal.
This week I did try a new protein drink. Someone who started out as a reader of mine and has become much more - a good friend and an accountability partner of mine - sent me some Shakeology to try. I've heard of the product and know a lot of people who use it. I've held back because of the price of the shake. However, I'm probably spending about the same amount for the protein powder I use plus my greens (and chia seeds when I add them), I use to make Shakeologies nutrition.
So far, I have tried the strawberry and chocolate. I am going to do vanilla today. The picture about has a green one and I think it's called green berry or something. I've not tried that one.
When I made the strawberry, it was super thick. Later I learned I needed more liquid. When I made the drink, I just did the powder and almond milk. Over all, it tasted good, but left a little after taste. I think if I'd used more liquid, then I wouldn't have had the after taste because yesterday I had the chocolate and it was GOOD! Oh my God, yum! The product I usually use doesn't have a lot of flavor, so having a chocolate drink felt like a treat.
This protein shake is packed full of nutrition and has more nutrients then I'm getting in my shakes now. I'm leaning toward purchasing this shake once I get low on the supply my own protein powder and supplements. I wasn't sure if shakeology would leave me as full because it's protein content isn't as high as I'm used to, but it did the job. I was full, and pleased with it.
Happy Friday, all! Today is measurement day. I did my weigh in this morning and was pleased to be down half a pound. :) -Lacey
