Ella Jade's got a new release and giveaway!

I'm thrilled to announce the release of Tessa's Temptation. This hot, steamy, full length novel will heat up your sheets!

Get Tempted Tonight...

Picture  What happens when the siren becomes the tempted?

College student Tess Burke is on the verge of eviction. Her life changed when her dad was in a bad car accident. He’s been in the hospital for months and making little progress. Desperation is setting in. They’re about to lose everything.

Successful architect Chase Carlisle has made a name for himself among the rich and famous. His work keeps him busy, leaving little time for a social life. When an old family friend contacts him and asks him to care for his vibrant, sassy daughter, Chase feels obligated to take her in; Patrick Burke had helped him when he was a troubled teenager, heading down a path of destruction. If not for Pat, he would have never become the man he is today.
The wild child turns Chase’s world upside down, tempting him in ways he can’t resist. The sexy younger woman shows him what he’s been missing the past few years. Their attraction is obvious from the beginning despite Chase’s apprehension to getting involved with Pat’s daughter. Tess wears him down but gets caught in her own trap when she becomes the object of his deepest, darkest desires.

“What about it?” Tess turned to look at him, her auburn locks blowing in the light breeze that danced through the porch.

“Tessa, about that kiss…” Chase stared out at the property. “I’m sending all these mixed vibes. I’m never this indecisive.” He was used to taking what he wanted and worrying about consequences later. With her, everything was different. She threw him off balance and made him think about his every move.

“Don’t worry about it. We both know we’re attracted to one another. It happened and it’s not a big deal.”

“It isn’t?” When had she become so mature? Why wasn’t she trying to convince him that they should be together?

“Is that what you wanted to tell me?”

“Not really but if you’re okay with it...” He shook his head; the heat of her breath had lingered on his lips for hours after that kiss. Every time he closed his eyes he felt her sigh against his mouth. “I can’t forget about it. I know I told you we couldn’t be together but none of my reasons make sense anymore. The more time I spend with you the more I want you.”

“Are you saying you want to be with me?”The look of vulnerability in her eyes scared him. She put on a good act when it came to being tough but he knew the truth. There was a sweetness; an innocence about her. One that told him she was still a girl; still on the verge of becoming a woman – who needed to be loved, respected and desired. God help him, but he wanted to be the man to show her all of that, and give her the world.

“I want to back away from you; I don’t want to let you in.” How much longer could he fight her? Fight these baser instincts?

“Then go.” The certainty in her eyes gave him clarity. This was her last attempt where he was concerned.

“I can’t, Tessa. Your pull is too strong.” He lowered his mouth to hers, focusing on those forbidden lips. The devil did exist. She stood in front of him as the flirtatious redhead who now consumed his mind, body and soul. “I can’t resist your temptation anymore.”

“Then don’t.”

“I’m not sure I’m the right man for you.”

“Why can’t you let me decide for myself?” She let out a frustrated breath. “I’ve been making choices about my life for a long time. I don’t need you to do what you think is best for me. That’s not helping either one of us. All you’re doing is making both of us miss out on something wonderful.”

He admired her spirit. That vibrant spirit and uninhibited determination. “I know you’re capable of making your own choices.” He kissed a path to her ear. “You’re capable of so many things. I want to be the man who helps you realize all of your dreams.” He moved his mouth along her jaw and back to her lips. “I can’t fight this anymore. I won’t.”

“It’s about time.” She kissed him, sweeping her tongue inside his mouth. “We’ve been doing nothing but wasting time,” she said when she finally stopped for a breath.

“No, we haven’t.” He took her face between his hands. “We have all the time in the world. We can take everything slow. I want you Tessa, but after our explosive chemistry in the study, I think moderation is in order.”

“Would you be this controlled with anyone other than me?”

“No.” That was the truth. Patience was not a virtue in his world.

“Then why?”

“Because I care about you. I don’t want to screw this up.”

“Oh.”

“Don’t be so surprised. I’ve grown quite fond of you.” He kissed her softly. “I want to do this right for a change.”

“You don’t need to be so careful with me.”

“I do. Trust me.” He stroked her soft cheek. “Why don’t you get some breakfast while I shower?”

“I could shower with you…” She grinned provocatively. “That might be fun.”

“Don’t tempt me.” He pressed his lips to her forehead. “When you’re ready we’ll go get those pumpkins, maybe visit your dad and then stop somewhere for a late lunch. How does that sound?”

“Like a date?” She trailed her finger down his chest to his waistband. “I’d love to.”

“Perfect.” He kissed her one more before pulling away. At this rate they’d never leave the porch. “I’ll see you in a bit.”

“Are you sure?” She gripped his biceps, pulling him back to her. “We could stay here and just… get to know one another.”

Good God, but she was a cheeky addiction!

“I love your fearlessness but we’ll stick with my plan.” He tapped the tip of her nose with his finger. “We’ll leave in an hour.”

“Fine,” she huffed as she walked over to the porch swing. “I’ll be ready.”

He laughed as he made his way into the house, dropping his mug off in the sink before hurrying up the back staircase, taking two steps at a time. The faster he showered, the sooner they could be together. Tessa was right, he had been wasting time, but no more. Today was a new day, full of so many possibilities.

He stripped out of his pajama bottoms and t-shirt while he waited for the water to heat up in the large, master shower. Thoughts of her wet, soapy and naked with him in the stall did nothing for his persistent erection. He stepped into the shower and let the hot water flow over his tense muscles. The multiple shower heads drenched his skin as the heavy steam filled the room. He closed his eyes and let his mind disengage, but then the stall door opened.

Mid Week Tease - Yummy Cowboy!

Hello! This is my first time doing mid week tease! I thought it would be fun to play along this week. In November, my very first contemporary western romance releases...COWBOYS! So here is a fun, sexy , snippet! Check out other teases by going HERE.

***

Lauren stared at the papers in front of her, but none of it registered. All she could focus on was the half naked man. The hot, sweaty, tanned man who was now naked in his shower only feet away from her.

Picture Picture She shook her head and rubbed her thighs. Enough. It wasn’t like Tucker was the first sexy man she’d seen. She wasn’t blind or innocent, but something about him got her panties moist quick. Hopefully, she could make it through this accounting meeting without ripping her own clothes off and offering herself up to him. She had no doubt he would be an awesome lover. The man worked with his hands all day; surely he knew a thing or two that could please her.
Seriously, enough.
Lauren straightened her back and stared hard at the stack of papers he’d given her. There were receipts, print outs, and such. Tucker seemed to keep good records, so this would make things easier. She removed her computer from her bag and turned it on. After she pulled up the file for Carver Ranch, she studied it once more to familiarize herself with it.

This was a profitable ranch. Last year had been one of their roughest years, but so far, this year was already better. She was sure once she started to fill in the stuff he’d supplied her with, she’d see they’d come back strong from the previous year.
“Everything there?”
Lauren jumped in her seat.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you.”
Tucker, now dressed, came over and sat next to her. Whatever soap he used attacked her senses in a good way. How did someone get out of the shower, yet still smell like fresh cut pines? She shouldn’t do it, but she did anyway. She let her gaze wander over his body. The black t-shirt he wore hugged his wide chest, letting her get the full view of muscles he had.
Lauren looked away quickly. “Yeah, I think this is it.” She flipped through the stack. “You’re free to do whatever while I do this. I know you’ve got a lot to do.”
“Can I get you something to drink?” He stood, and her focus went straight to his crotch.
Oh God, she glanced up quick to see him smirking. The man knew he was sex on stick with his sandy blond hair and blue eyes. “Do you have some tea?”
“Sweet?”
“Uh, yeah.”
He winked. “I’ll be back.”
“Take your time.” The farther away he was, the more she could concentrate on her work. She wasn’t sure what had come over her, but the sooner she got done with this job, the better. Then she wouldn’t have to see him again until next quarter. 1.

Cover reveal and a little tease.

Picture The Temp - Part 1 is coming this fall! This will be a 3 part serial series, and yes, the stories will end with cliffhangers. I'm warning you ahead of time, when I do a cliffhanger, I go all out! Be prepared to curse at me.

Please remember, this excerpt is from the unedited document. There may be typos I missed or grammatical errors.

Now for a fun sneak peek at one of the first times Alice (the secretary) and Dylan (her boss) touch.

***

Alice set her drink down on the small table and followed Darla onto the dance floor. Only a few people danced. For the most part, people mingled for person to person, looking for their nightly hook-up, she supposed. Maybe she should get together with one of these men. She deserved some fun.
“He’s watching you,” Darla groaned out.

Alice peeked toward him and then glanced away quickly. “Duh, we’re two women grinding. He’s a man.”

“You two dance.”

Her eyes went wide. “No. Don’t you dare.”

Darla gave me her mischievous grin and the next thing she knew Darla made a scene. “Oh no, my heel! It broke. I’ve got to go sit down.”

“Darla,” she snapped under my breath.

“Dylan,” she waved her arms, “could you finish this dance with her. She loves this song.” She shot Alice a wink and fakely hobbled back to the couch.

Alice was going to kill her friend tonight and dump her body off a bridge. Dylan squatted to look at her foot, but Darla swatted him away and pointed in Alice’s direction. He came her way. She could not dance with her boss.

“You don’t have to dance with me.” Alice stood still.

“Nonsense. Let’s call it a getting to know each other dance.”

She nodded, unable to think or focus as his hands held her waist. He was touching her… Oh God. A shiver traveled up her spine and her nipples hardened. She took a deep breath, but that only made her chest rise. She noticed her headlights showed through her dress. This can’t be happening. Dylan couldn’t notice he’d turned her on. She pressed her body against him in an attempt to hide her hard nipples.

But now that she was so close, the smell of his aftershave attacked her sense. Spice and musk all in one. It reminded her of the men’s aisle at the store, where she loved to sniff their body washes. Secretly, she had a favorite one she kept at home and sniffed during her intimate time.

Fuck, why was she thinking about masturbating now?

“Are you okay, Alice? Your breathing is rapid?”

She kept her gaze straight ahead. “Oh, yeah. I’m out of shape. I need to go to the gym more.”

“You’re perfect.” His tones laced with irritation and she could tell his jaw had tightened.

This man had real issues when it came to what she thought about her own body. It made no sense to her.

He traced a small circle on her lower back, which she should not be enjoying. This had to stop. She pulled back abruptly, he gazed hard at her.

“I’m going to go check on Darla.” Alice bolted toward her friend.

So, what did you think?! These two get VERY hot. I can't wait until this story is polished and ready! -Lacey

Starting T25 workout

Monday is here and the date I set to start T25. As soon as I finish this blog and have breakfast, I've got to march my butt upstairs and get this workout done. I can do it!

Last March, I became serious about weightloss. I'd been trying for years and kept making excuses as to why I wasn't losing. Sure, I went to the gym 4 days a week, and I was watching my calories, but I don't think I quite understood how to really eat healthy. I thought I was, but when I look back, I just wasn't there yet. When I week went by and I didn't lose any weight, I just said, well this is the body I'm supposed to have.  But then it happened. I no longer wanted to be in photos, because when I was, I didn't see the person I saw when I looked in the mirror. I have a very slender frame and small bones. I am 31 years old and my wrists are the same size as my kids who are 7 and 10. Anyway, I kept going up pants sizes and finally when I hit the pant size I needed after I had my son while trying to lose baby weight, I decided ENOUGH!

I began to see a personal trainer and he helped me with a strict diet learn how to eat clean. I have a much better understanding on healthy foods. As well, I've learned FINALLY  what my body responds to. Between March and June, I was able to lose 20 pounds! Woot!

I've really not dieted much since June. I've not watched my calories. I've still been eating healthy and I'm happy to say I've maintained since mid-June to September. I only have a few more pounds I want to lose...or maybe tone up a bit. My BMI is at a healthy place now, and I'm not looking to get bone skinny. Just firm up a bit.

So, I decided to give T25 a try. Just 25 minutes a day. I can do that. I like to run on the treadmill or get on the elliptical, but this might be a nice break from the two for a bit. I enjoy both of those, but they are more cardio and at the moment I am focusing on toning.

Happy Monday! Fingers crossed I make it through work out 1! I watched it last night and my son did it (he's 10) and he was even worn out after it.  -Lacey

Friday, Friday, so glad you're here!

The last two weeks have sucked as a writer. Blah! You see, I thought they would be good weeks. The husband was out of town, which meant I could write late into the night, all day, etc. etc. That backfired. More like, I didn't sleep well because he wasn't home, so I found myself exhausted all darn day!
GIFSoup So now it's time to play catch up on writing. Get back into the groove of things before the hubby goes out of town again. He will be traveling A LOT in September too. Boo.

I am proud to say I am almost done with The Temp series. Yay! I hope to have it out in October. This will be a serial series. I love those things. Yes, they end with cliffhangers, so no they won't be for everyone. I will however release it in a boxed set as well so readers can have the whole story at once too.

Once that is complete, I'm strapping my cowboy hat back on and heading back to Carver Ranch! Yee-haw! Oh, have you see my cover for Counting Cowboys coming out in November? Picture I'm really excited for this release, so when it's live, be ready for me to promo my heart out. Just don't block me, okay? I promise I'll only be annoying the first week. Okay, maybe a little bit longer.

Carver Ranch will be getting a short story for Christmas. I've never written a Christmas story. Truth be told, I'm a grinch...so this will be new to me. Then I will be beginning Nathan's story, the next brother down the line.

Happy Friday! I hope the weeks been good to you. I'm starting to feel rested with the hubs home. Maybe today I can concentrate on a little writing. :) -Lacey

Cover Reveal - A Masterpiece Unraveled by Nikki Lynn Barrett

Nikki Lynn Barrett is hanging out on my blog today to show off her new cover for the next in her series that will be releasing in October 2014.
***
In spring 2014, I introduced readers to Hunter Beckman and Rebecca Lange, two survivors of a tragic accident. Little did I know when I started their story that it would turn into a trilogy.....But it did.

And today, I'm pleased to unveil the cover for the second book in the Masterpiece Trilogy, which is A Masterpiece Unraveled.
Picture As love blossoms, twenty year old secrets threaten it all....

Becca and Hunter have always tried to make sense of a tragedy, but they never fully asked why. Why were they on the same plane? Where were they going, or coming from? Recent events force them to find out everything they can about the plane crash and the events that led them there.

Becca's always been strong. She's always found a safety net in Hunter, the man who saved her as a child and always stuck by her, giving her reason to go on when no one else gave her a chance. Now, she fights to keep her strength going, but her fears begin to get the better of her, and the facade she tries to hold up threatens to crack.
Hunter is learning to fight his demons and put them to rest, but he can't help but worry about Becca and the future they've just begun to build. She's become the withdrawn person he'd been for the past few years and he doesn't know how to help, unless he finds the answers they both are desperate to know.

They've always battled every storm together, but a new storm could sweep in and blow the foundation right out from under them....

The second installment of the Masterpiece trilogy is full of twists, turns, and secrets that come unburied...

WARNING:
This story is not a standalone, this is the second in a trilogy that follow the same characters. A Masterpiece Of Our Love should be read first.

Until he stopped showing.

Her constant. Her link to the past. Gone in the blink of an eye.

Two Lives Bound by Secret.

Suffering more heartbreak, Hunter returns to the one place he’s always sought comfort, the island where he and Becca met. It was the place that stole from him, and in the same instance gave to him. He hasn't been back or spoken to Becca in four years.

Though he’s sure she must hate him for disappearing, Hunter discovers the girl gone, now a woman in her place. Hunter is determined to prove to Becca he isn’t the same twelve-year-old boy of yesteryear.

But someone isn't happy about their reunion...

Strange things begin happening. Letters start showing up in their hotel rooms and at home with cryptic messages.

Have you watched Married At First Sight?

Picture I admit...this is a guilty pleasure of mine. When I first saw the previews for this show, I thought...this is crazy! I've got to watch it. So I did. By the time I remembered it had started, they were 3 episodes in, which I binge watched. How insane. These people never met, and yet, they are actually getting married? I enjoyed the reactions from the couples at the altar. Especially Monique. I worried she was going to pass out or if she could even form words. Jamie, I was kinda surprised she went through with it, but things have started to look up for her. And well Courtney and her man, they look like a match made in heaven. However, I suspect things won't always be perfect between them. Picture If I had to choose a favorite couple and the one I hope makes it last and work, it would be Jamie and Doug. She started this very unattracted to him, but on TV, we get to see them actually falling in love. At this point, they haven't consummated their marriage since they are taking things slow. The chemistry is there though. They seem to really care for one another...a lot. I think these two are gonna stick it out in the long haul. Picture My next couple is Courtney and Jason. These two are that perfect couple from high school. They look like they were made for each other. They act perfect. They seem perfect, but I suspect it won't last. From the moment they saw each other, they liked one another. Jason is a little more reserved, but he does care for Courtney. Each preview, they show issues are coming between them. I'm just waiting for the first big fight. If they make it through that, then I'll have more faith they will stick together. Picture And last, we have Monique and Vaughn. I don't know what to predict for these two! One minute they are happy, then next they are yelling at one another. They already have a lot of issues that began on the honeymoon. If they can learn to communicate, they might have a chance. Vaughn says things at times and I'm not sure if he'd joking, trying to get a rise out of her, or if he's serious (like the menage comment). Time will tell with these two, but at least they are entertaining.

I have to admit, I am looking forward to the season finale when we learn if they stay married or not. I follow them on twitter and they have their lips zipped! They tweet each week pertaining to that episode, so it looks like they are all blissfully married still.

Are you watching? What are your thoughts? -Lacey

Cover Reveal - Tessa's Temptation by Ella Jade

My dear friend Ella Jade is here today to share the cover of her next release coming in September.
***
Tessa’s Temptation Cover Reveal
Ella Jade

This book has been months in the making. It doesn't release until September 12, 2014 but I thought it was time to get you all excited and reveal the cover and blurb for my newest contemporary romance...

If not for Pat, Chase would have never become the man he is today.

***

I can't wait to share this story with you. It's hot, sassy and oh-my-freakin'-god steamy.

Do you want to know the second this book goes live? Of course you do ;)

Chapter One - Unforgettable

Picture The release of Unforgettable is just around the corner. August 19th will be here before I know it! I can't wait to share this story with you. So far, the early reviews have been good. I'm pleased that readers' are liking it. Neil is quite the swoonworthy older man. Check out chapter one to see what this stories and series is all about! Chapter One Copyright: Lacey Wolfe 2014

Krista stared at the dimly lit building. From the outside, it looked like any other club. So why was her heart ready to beat out of her chest?

She rubbed her sweaty palms across the cloth seat and turned to her friend. “I feel like a loser. Like I’m coming here with daddy issues.”

Jamie raised an eyebrow. “We’ve been over this so many times. No one here is going to think that. It’s a club for younger women who like older men and vice versa.”

“Yeah, but—”

“No buts. Older men are hot. Stop over-thinking and live a little. Now let’s go.” Jamie pushed her car door open without giving her another glance.

Krista wasn’t sure about this. As she climbed out of the vehicle, she couldn’t help but wonder, what if this place only has old men—like old, old men. Not those hot fifty-year-old men you see in movies and such. But the wrinkly ones with canes. Not that there was anything wrong with that; they just weren’t her type.

Jamie stood in the parking lot with her hands on her slender hips. “Come on, Krista, before all the good ones are taken.”

Krista jogged to catch up with her friend. At the entrance, a big man stood there in the classic get-up. Sunglasses, a black shirt, and tight jeans. He was hot and Krista wondered if she could stay out there with him because he looked more like her type.

“Good evening, ladies. I need to see some ID.” He held out his hand.

She dug hers out of her wallet and handed it to him. He glanced at the I.D.’s, smiled, and gave them back.

“Enjoy your evening.”

Jamie looped her arm through Krista’s and they were on their way to what felt like the unknown to Krista.

Inside was dark as expected, but there was just enough lighting so she wouldn’t trip over anything. There were a lot of women there. Apparently her friend wasn’t the only one with a thing for older men.

There was a small dance floor to her left, but it was mostly set up with various lounge areas. A contemporary feel flowed throughout with black leather sofas, red-and-white throw pillows, and chrome décor. The bar sat in the center of the room, and Krista was thrilled when Jamie led her in that direction.

A female bartender, who was surprisingly dressed conservative in a white button down blouse, greeted them. “What can I get you?”

“Two sex on the beaches,” Jamie said.

“Suck up.” Krista leaned her back against the bar and glanced around. She didn’t see a man anywhere without a young, beautiful woman at his side. Next to the attached women, she felt like she was wearing a paper sack. Not a man looked in her direction.  “I bet all the good ones are taken.”

Jamie twirled a lock of her blonde hair as she checked out the men. “Why do you say that?”

“With the amount of women in here, any man without one at this point must be a loser.”

“Or he’s just waiting on the right woman.” Jamie winked.

The bartender returned with their drinks. Jamie told her to leave the tab open.

“Now what?” Krista asked as she picked up her beverage.

“Let’s find somewhere to sit, drink a little to lighten our mood, and go from there. This doesn’t need to be planned out.”

“This is so stupid.” Krista took a sip of her drink. “It feels like we’re waiting for some man to find us attractive and want to talk to us. It’s just weird.”

Her friend sighed. “Live a little. Jeez. How well has it been working out with the men your own age?”

Jamie had a point. “But still,” Krista protested halfheartedly.

“If you want to leave, I’ll give you my keys. I’m not going to force you to stay.”

“I might.” A deep masculine voice sounded from behind them.

A shiver swept down Krista’s spine. Her heart rate sped up and it felt like slow motion as she spun around to see who had spoken to her. Oh. My. God! She laid eyes on one of the most gorgeous men she’d ever seen. He put George Clooney to shame.

“Would you gorgeous ladies care to join me?” He motioned toward an empty couch.

“We’d love to.” Jamie smiled.

Krista attempted to speak, but no words were forming as she followed them over. She expected Jamie to sit next to the sexy man and keep him for herself, but instead, her friend left a gap for Krista to sit in the middle.

“I’m Neil.” He took a sip from his drink. The light gold liquid flowed to his lips and Krista found herself jealous of the glass.

“I’m Jamie, and this is my friend Krista Michaels.”

Why the heck did Jamie just given him my last name?

Neil rested his glass on the armrest. He was at ease and in his comfort zone as he straightened his light blue tie. “It’s nice to meet you both. First time here?”

“Yes. Though it’s a relatively new place. Have you been here much?” Jamie asked.

“A few times. I’m friends with the owner.” His gaze stayed on Krista.

She stared back, mesmerized by him. He had dark hair with slight streaks of grey at the temple. Not too much, just was the right amount. Perfect. Like him. Now if only she could speak, she might get somewhere.

“What do you do for a living?” He spun the glass around with his fingers.

“We’re both teachers,” Jamie answered.

His eyes widened. “This must be your favorite time of the year. Summer vacation.”

“It is.” Jamie poked Krista in the side.

Krista nodded since for whatever reason, her mouth still wasn’t working.

“Are you always so quiet?” Neil smirked. A tiny dimple formed on his chin. She loved a man with dimples.

“Usually she won’t shut up.” Jamie giggled. “What’s up, Krista?”

“I love your name by the way.” His blue eyes locked on her.

“Thank you.” She finally managed a word.

He took a long drink then set the cup down on the table. He sat back, pulling one leg up and resting his ankle on the opposite knee. “I’m going to be frank. When I see something I like, I go after it. And I like what I see, Krista. Are you single?”

His bluntness caused a wave of pleasure to ripple though her. “I am.”

“I’m attracted to you very much, but I don’t want to waste my time if you don’t feel the same.” He paused, staring at her with a longing in his eyes. Finally, he moistened his lips.  “That isn’t entirely true. If you weren’t interested in me, I’d try harder. I don’t like not getting what I want, and I want you.”

Her heart raced to a speed she was worried might put her in a panic attack. Never had a man simply told her the extent he wanted her. Was she expected to answer him? And if so, what should she say: Yes you can have me right here however you want?

“Say something,” Jamie whispered.

Krista mumbled, “What do I say?”

Neil chuckled. “I’m going to get another drink. I’ll be right back.”

As soon as he was gone, Jamie grabbed Krista’s arm and spun her around. “What the hell is your problem? Please tell me you find him attractive.”

Tall, dark, handsome, and he wore a designer suit. That was a no-brainer. “I do. So much I can’t form sentences. The way he talks and how honest he is. Oh my goodness, I’m so turned on.”

Jamie laughed. “Maybe he’s a dom.”

“Don’t get ahead of yourself. I don’t want to be tied up and spanked.” At least she didn’t think she did. Right about now she was pretty sure Neil could do whatever he wanted to her and she’d oblige.

Jamie snickered. “I guess you’re the lucky one tonight. Should I leave you two alone and go find my own man?”

“No!” She clutched on to her friends hand. “Please.”

Krista glanced toward the bar. Neil’s back was to her. She moistened her lips, wondering what it would be like to kiss him. Surely he was a pro. He was most likely a renowned bachelor and had kissed many, many women. No, no, she didn’t want to think about that.

“So what do you think?” Jamie sipped through her pink straw. “Think you’ll get to know him?”

“I’d be stupid not to.” Krista was infatuated by his back side. The way he wore his slacks…it was as though he had them custom made to his ass. Heck, he was probably loaded and had a custom tailor on speed dial.

Neil turned and headed back their way. Krista couldn’t take her eyes off him. As he took a seat, Krista hadn’t realized that Jamie had wiggled out of her grip.

“I’ll be right back.” Jamie hopped off the couch and was gone before Krista had a chance to protest.

I’m going to wring her neck. Hadn’t she just asked her not to leave her?

“What grade do you teach?” He rubbed his chin and held his hand there a moment.

“Sixth.”

He nodded. “Easy?”

“Uh, depends on the kid, really. It’s a big transition year for that age.”

He swirled liquid in the glass. “Would you be interested in dinner with me? Tomorrow maybe?”

That was soon. “Um.”

“Please don’t feel pressured, but I’d like to take you out somewhere private where we could get to know one another better.”

Somewhere private? Was he expecting sex? She didn’t know if she could just get away tomorrow. She wasn’t the only one she had to think about. “I’m honestly not sure.”

“I understand.” He reached into his pocket and removed a card. He set his glass on the armrest and scribbled on the back of the card before handing it to her. “My private cell number is on there. Normally I like to do the calling—call me old fashioned—but I can see things might be different with you. Call or text and let me know. Either way, my evening will be free, and I hope I can spend it with you.”

Krista took the card just as Jamie returned.

“What did I miss?” her friend asked slyly.

Neil winked then directed his sexy gaze toward Jamie. “I was just asking your friend out for tomorrow night, but she isn’t sure.”

Krista gave her friend a pleading look, hoping she’d catch her drift.

“I’ll make sure she can.” Jamie smiled.

Krista sighed. It was a good thing Jamie was her best friend or else she’d have smacked her. She still might.

“As much as I don’t want to, I guess I won’t take up any more of your time.” Neil stood and straightened his jacket.

He reached his hand out toward Krista. She took it, expecting him to shake it. Instead, he yanked her up and pulled her close, leaving only a few mere inches between them. She gasped from the closeness and as he leaned forward, she worried she would faint. He pressed his lips to her cheek and her eyes closed on instinct as she inhaled his tingling aftershave.

“Please call me,” he said softly into her ear before turning and walking away.

Krista was left speechless as she watched him cross the room and head toward the back. She glanced at Jamie who sat there with a smug look on her face.

“See, told you this was a good idea.” Jamie gloated.

* * *

Neil entered his home and went straight to his office later that evening. He needed to know more about Krista. While he didn’t have much to go on, he knew her name and she was a teacher. Surely she couldn’t be that hard to find.

She most likely wouldn’t call or text, but there was no way he was letting her go. He couldn’t quite pinpoint what it was, but from the moment he’d laid eyes on her, he’d wanted her. He was bound and determined to do whatever it took to make sure that happened.

A few months before, he’d joined The Gentleman’s Club. At first he wasn’t too sure about it. The place was an exclusive May-December type club. Women were young, men were older. Once a woman hit a certain age, she wasn’t welcome anymore, but the club did its best not to make that known to avoid lawsuits. The bouncer typically did a good job not hurting anyone’s feelings. When it came to men, they had to be at least forty, five years younger than he was.

The point of The Gentleman’s Club was for older men and younger women to find love, or at least hook up. He wouldn’t necessarily say he only liked younger woman, he was just very fortunate that younger women seemed to enjoy him.

And if it hadn’t been for the club, he might not have encountered Krista.

He searched her out on the Internet. He told himself he would not do a background check. He simply wanted to find her address and phone number. It took willpower not to learn everything he could, but he knew that would only lead to trouble. He’d slip up during a conversation and freak her out, losing her. He didn’t want that.

It didn’t take long. He copied her information on a piece of paper, folded it up, and put it in his wallet. After closing the laptop, he decided to call it an evening. He’d watch a little TV until he fell asleep.

As he entered the living room, his cell phone vibrated. He removed it from his pocket to see he’d received a new text from a number he didn’t recognize.

I’d love to have dinner with you tomorrow night if the offer still stands – Krista

Neil grinned. He was definitely surprised to have heard from her already.

Great. I’ll pick you up at six at your place. Have a wonderful evening.
