Little Update
Summer vacation with the kiddos is almost up! On the 5th of August, I'll be driving them and dropping them back off to school. I've enjoyed them home and my time with them. However, I must admit, I'm ready to be a writer again. I've really not done much writing at all this summer, and I keep telling myself, that's okay. They are only kids once. But then this little part of me is looking at my release schedule and thinking Almost 2 months of no writing...that's not good! I tell that little voice, it will be fine--really!
I do have several releases coming soon. Unforgettable will be releasing August 19th. I have a lot of reviewers on this one, and so far (fingers crossed) readers have liked it. It's a fun series about older men and younger women that centers around a club that caters to them.
I've been working on book 2 Unmistakably Mine as well as a spin off serial series The Temp. I've been having a lot of fun working on The Temp Series and I think it will release in October.
Also in October, Ticket to Love is tentatively scheduled to release. This is a fun novella about a woman who wins the lottery, is hung up on her age, and a neighbor who is so smokin' hot, yet her drives her insane! This one has some humor in it and some sensual/border line erotic love scenes.
And then in November, Counting Cowboys will be releasing. Yee-haw! I can't wait. This will be book 1 in the Carver Ranch series. It's going to be a 4 book series that features 3 brothers and 1 sister from a close knit family that live on a ranch in Texas.
I am going to be part of a Christmas boxed set and I plan on writing a small novella to go along with the Carver Ranch series.
I'm also working on Second Chances, the sequel to Hypnotized. I had hoped to have this one done before summer was over, but I've really not written at all since May 22nd when the kids got out of school.
Thankfully, I have some releases coming up, but past Counting Cowboys, I couldn't tell ya! But don't worry, if you enjoy my work, there will be more. I plan on marathon writing in August and hopefully have my Temp series done as well as a big chunk of Second Chances, if it's not done. I will be keeping myself occupied in the first few weeks after the kiddos go back. I also miss them. The house is quiet and clean for the most part.
Hope you've been having a good summer and I should be back to regular blogging soon!

2. Making friends online who are like me. Love to read and/or write. They get me and I get them in ways non-writers or readers get.
3. I get to do what I love. Write and read! I love to write and tell stories, and now I get to do it for others to read and enjoy. I also get to pre-read some great stories from authors friends of mine to help feed my reading addiction.

Dark Storms by Tara Mills - #newrelease

Fresh out of the Navy, Gabriel Nadeau is more than ready to settle down when he accepts a job on Pelican Cay. He craves peace and serenity—and lands in a tempestuous paradise instead.Excerpt Gabe was sprawled face down on his bed, the twisted sheet draped loosely over one leg and pinned beneath the other, when he was roused by a rap on his door.
Barely unpacked, he finds himself entangled with the enchanting free spirit, Adriana Hernandez, marked by a jealous rival, and uncovering an ongoing crime. As the residents prepare for the storm of the century bearing down on them, Gabe discovers the hurricane is the least of his worries and he and Adriana are both in more danger than either realized.
He shook himself awake as another knock sounded. The digital clock on the bedside table told him it was nearly two in the afternoon.
Grunting and groaning, he rolled to his side and rubbed his eyes. “Hang on. I’m coming.”
He swung his legs off the bed, grabbed the untucked sheet, and wrapped it around his waist as he shuffled to the door. Still a little drowsy, he tried and failed to manage the chain stop and gave up, pulling the door open without it.
Adriana was on the other side. Her eyebrows shot up and she gave him a wicked grin. “Good afternoon. I brought coffee from the lobby.” She looked him over, very carefully, and her smile widened. “Why don’t you get dressed and meet me on your little patio?”
“Ah…” He followed her eyes down his bare torso to the loose bed sheet and rubbed the back of his neck. “Sure. Be right with you.”
“Good.”
She put a little extra wiggle in her walk as she wandered off. Grateful and grinning now himself, he closed the door. Whatever was on top in the bureau drawers is what he grabbed and took into the bathroom.
Adriana was relaxing in one of his two patio chairs when he joined her. She took in his lightweight track pants and Navy t-shirt and gave a sad little sigh. “Gone, but not forgotten.” Before he could respond, she picked up a thermal mug from the little table next to her and offered it to him.
“Thanks.” The mug was brand new and stamped on the outside with the resort’s logo.
“I didn’t know what you like, so I just went with our special Pelican Cay roast and two amaretto creamers.”
He leaned against the railing and took a taste. “Mmm, works for me. Thanks again.”
“Did you get enough sleep?”
“Plenty. I usually only need about six hours a night.”
She frowned. “So you didn’t go to bed right away?”
“I needed to wind down first.”
“Hmm.” She seemed to mull that over for a moment then shook herself and looked up at him, brows arched. “I noticed you don’t have a shift until tomorrow morning. Would you like me to show you around? I’ll give you a tour of the island.”
“Aren’t you working?”
“It’s slow. I asked if I could leave early.” She winked at him. “I have an in with the boss.”
He took another pleasurable swallow, finally waking up. “Lucky. Sure, I’d love a tour.”
“Bring your trunks. Who knows, we might find time to take in a little swim.” She stood up and tipped back her own cup, draining it. “I have a couple of things to finish. Why don’t you meet me at the front desk? I’ll introduce you to Rosa. After that, I’m all yours.”
It was hard to mistake her invitation when it came coupled with a flirty little smile. Not only were they on the same wavelength, but he was receptive to the idea. “Sounds good. I’ll catch up with you.”
She left him there and Gabe ran back into his quarters to brush his teeth, find his trunks, and grab his wraparound sunglasses. Working his feet into his leather sandals, he looked around, wondering how he was supposed to carry his damn trunks. He didn’t have a bag small enough. Ah, screw it. He wadded them in his hand, slid his wallet into his back pocket and plucked his keys off the bedside table. Out of habit, he tested the door once it closed to be sure it locked properly.
The grounds crew was busy. He could hear the buzz of trimmers being used around beds and borders. At least one riding mower passed nearby, making curving patterns in the grass on its way back between the buildings.
Skipping up the two steps and into the airy lobby, he met Adriana’s gaze over the counter and they both smiled. His heart beat just a little faster at seeing her again. It was ridiculous. She’d just left him five minutes ago. Yet, he couldn’t stop his blazing grin from flaring to life when she looked at him.
“Hey,” he greeted her. “Almost ready?”
“Just about. I have to put the paychecks into the boxes then I’m done. Hang on.” She turned and called, “Mom? Gabe’s here.”
An attractive woman stepped out of the office. She was a little shorter, a bit thicker through the body, but clearly Adriana’s mother. Smiling, she approached the tall counter, giving him a friendly onceover. The women’s smiles were identical. Where they differed was the eyes, or rather the expression in the eyes. Adriana looked at him with familiarity, intimacy, and open amusement.
“Gabe? I’m Rosa. It’s nice to have you here with us. Are you settling in okay? Have any questions or concerns?”
Startled, his eyes cut to Adriana and he shook his head. “Um, no. Your daughter was very helpful.”
Rosa patted Adriana on the back. “I’m glad to hear it. Honey, I’ll take those checks. Don’t make him stand around waiting for you.”
“Thanks.” Handing them over, Adriana gave her mom a quick kiss on the cheek. “I guess we’re out of here. I’ve got my phone if you need to reach me.”
Rosa turned her around and with hands on both shoulders, walked Adriana out from behind the counter.
Summarily dismissed, Adriana spun around. “Wait, I need my bag.”
Gabe was snickering when she came back out of the office swinging a canvas bag by the straps.
“Here.” She opened the top of the bag and thrust it at him. “Drop your drawers.”

Contract Announcement - Counting Cowboys
I'm thrilled to announce that book one in the Carver Ranch series,
Counting Cowboys
, has been picked up by Beachwalk Press! I'll be sharing more info soon on this story. But for now, here is a VERY ROUGH and UNEDITED blurb about the story.
Tucker Carver likes to have fun and has no plans on settling down anytime soon. He comes from a large family and handles the business side of Carver Ranch. But on the day of his next meeting with the families accountant, he instead meets a beautiful woman who changes everything.
Lauren Ford packed up and moved to Texas to start over after her best friend stole her fiancé. With her father retiring, she’s taken over his accounting firm. She’s taken with Tucker immediately, but has no plans on settling down anytime soon from her fresh pain. She still isn’t sure she wants to stay in Texas.
Tucker has other plans though as he decides Lauren is the woman he wants, even though she drags her feet. But then her ex-fiancé shows up in town wanting Lauren back. Can Tucker convince her that his feelings are true, or will the ex take Lauren back to Georgia with him?

Pin It Wednesday - Yummy Desserts
Besides checking out hot men, there are other things useful to Pinterest, and food is one of them. I don't think I've ever logged on and not seen some sort of yummy recipe. I've tried a few and so far only one was yucky. Today I am sharing pins of desserts I have yet to try, but want to.
Peanut butter cheesecake with brownie crust.
Yum, the title alone gets me excited. I love peanut butter, like spoonfuls from a jar, and of course, who doesn't love a gooey brownie.
This is like the perfect dessert. I need to move this up my list to try soon.
Doughnuts....need I say more? Okay, so I need to move this up my list to try really soon too. Plus this one seems super simple.
You just need some refrigerated biscuits, crisco, and powdered sugar. Then BAM, you've got one of the best foods ever created.
And next, I just saw this one the other week, and yes, like the other two, I need to make it soon. I've been on a SERIOUS diet with no sugar in 6 weeks. Think I'm craving it just a little?
These are mini banana cream cookies. Just the sugar, banana, and cream mixture makes my taste buds water.

About the book A MEASURED RISK
By Natasha Blackthorne
Book one in the Regency Risks Series
He is her most dangerous temptation, the only man she has ever trusted and now he is demanding her submission. Dare she take the risk?
Emotionally scarred in the horrific accident that took her husband’s life, Lady Cranfield is imprisoned by her lingering terror of horses and carriages. She longs to be closer to the fascinating Earl of Ruel, as she senses intuitively that he might be able to teach her how to overcome the terrors that hold her in bondage.
And now she’s willing to risk almost anything—her reputation, even her virtue—to find out.
But what Lord Ruel proposes startles her.
When the shy, studious and socially awkward young widow approaches him, Lord Ruel instantly senses she will be the sweetest, most submissive experience of his life—but first he must gain her complete trust. Lord Ruel makes Lady Cranfield a non-negotiable offer: His help in return for her submission and obedience.
But Lady Cranfield grew up neglected by her ducal parents, raised by servants and then later ignored by her handsome, charming husband. She’s learnt to protect her heart at all costs and she trusts no one but herself.
How can the jaded Earl of Ruel break through Lady Cranfield’s self-defences and show her how to love when he himself has spent his life avoiding that tender trap?
Erotica Romance ~ Light BDSM ~ Rubenesque / BBW ~ Regency Historical ~ Shy Heroine ~ Novel Length 86,000 Words . Contains graphic erotic descriptions and frank sexual language. As a work of historical romance fiction, A Measured Risk is not intended to be an accurate portrayal of modern BDSM lifestyles.

For Adults 18+ Only
She backed all the way into the bookcase.
“Why did you run away?” His deep voice settled in her belly, rich and warm, like crème brûlée on a cold winter’s night.
“Because I wanted you to follow.” She tried to sound sophisticated and seductive, but her voice choked off on the last word.
Ruel placed his hand on the shelf above her head and blocked her path to the door. His tall, solidly muscled body leaned over her, surrounding her with the sumptuous, sinful scents of tobacco, Scotch whisky and something masculine and undeniably dangerous. A slow, sensual smile stretched his hard mouth.
He appeared different. Softer. More approachable.
At the change, her insides seemed to flip over.
“Well, sweeting, getting us off alone was a very inspired idea.” He touched one of her fallen ringlets. “I am bored to distraction with endless talk of hunting and fencing.”
As he slowly wrapped the curl around two fingers, he brushed her collarbone. Fiery sparks tingled down her spine, so intense that she shivered and her nipples beaded, pressing against her stays. By some instinct she hadn’t even known she possessed, she arched her back, presenting herself for his assessment.
His eyes shone so vividly blue against his bronzed face that they resembled cornflowers. She swallowed tightly and wished for a long drink of claret. This more personal side of him suddenly seemed far more hazardous than his usually fierce exterior.
Well, no matter. There was nothing to fear. She would allow only as much contact as need be to get to know him a little. Since being torn from her lonely yet secure life in Ireland and thrust into Society at age sixteen, she’d spent her time allowing people only as near as was comfortable. She was an expert at emotional evasion.
It should be easy to regain her control.
But now, as rays of the late-afternoon sun played over his pale hair, turning it the colour of winter wheat, all her carefully rehearsed words flew from her mind.
Say something—anything—else he will think you’re a bird-wit.
An intimate smile, one that invited her to play, tugged at his mouth.
“In a situation like this, alone with a gentleman, it’s perfectly normal for a lady to feel some apprehension.” His hushed voice, barely audible above the piano and boisterous singing from down the corridor, accentuated their isolation. His gaze became so piercing that she had to lower her eyes.
He brushed his fingertips over her cheek. “She will invariably ask herself if he will try to kiss her.”
She jerked her eyes back to his face. God, he couldn’t mean to—not yet, surely… Peculiar, heated chills swept over her. She tried to take a step back, but found her arse flush against the bookshelf.
He leaned closer; so close that his Scotch-scented breath tickled her face. “And just in case you are wondering, Lady Cranfield—the answer is most assuredly yes.”
She should demand that he put his arm down so she could pass by and leave. She really should. But she couldn’t stop looking at his hard mouth and wondering what it would feel like upon hers. He was so close to her that his breath blew on her lips. If she moved but a fraction, she’d be kissing him.
Kissing him.
Dear God. Her breaths began to come very fast and short. Her throat went tight with a suppressed moan.
His eyes burnt as brightly as aquamarines. He looked so fierce. If he kissed her, if he dared… Oh God, it would be so harsh. That cruel-looking mouth could express itself no other way.
Excitement rushed through her, sending tingles to every point of her body, even her toes.
But no, he wouldn’t. Not yet.
He kept leaning closer. He didn’t close his eyes. Instead, he seemed to focus all the harder upon her.
Her heart pounding, unable to move away, she braced herself for his assault.
His lips brushed hers, barely. A gossamer caress.
He lifted his head.
It was done.
Ended.
And it hadn’t even begun.
He held her chin, appearing so cool, so unaffected. His kiss had seemed to sear her. An urge to put her fingers to her lips arose in her. She resisted it, for it would give away too much of how she was affected.
Never show your feelings.
He traced his thumb along her lower lip, slowly, deliberately, as he studied her with eyes that now glittered with something powerful and predatory. Heat pooled in her pelvis, low and spreading even lower.
She went weak all over, as if she’d lain in a sunny window seat for too long. Her knees almost buckled. She forced them to lock. To be strong.
It should not have affected her so profoundly. It had been just a peck—not a true kiss at all. William had poured out all of his skill upon her and hadn’t garnered even a tenth of the reaction in her that this man’s peck had.
Ruel traced her jaw line with his fingertips. Unthinkingly, she leaned in to his touch.
“Of course, once he has kissed her, then it’s his turn to wonder…” His voice sounded unnaturally loud in her ears. “How will she respond? Will she withdraw, or can he ignite some hidden fire?”
She sensed that he was toying with her. She didn’t understand flirtation—why had she imagined she could carry off this ruse? Was he making advances in order to have a laugh with Francesca and her simpering friends later? Hurt blossomed in her chest. She resented him for that. She ought to feel indignant, superior, uncaring—anything but hurt.
“Please don’t make sport of me.”
She cringed. Was that quavering, pleading voice really hers?
An infinitesimal pause. “Now, why on earth would I do such a thing?” His voice was as smooth as velvet.
“To please your vanity,” she replied, trying to regain her wits.
“Here.” He placed her hand to his chest. The contours of his muscles were hard, powerfully developed. Even more so than she’d expected. His body heat radiated through the satin and, beneath her hand, his heart’s beat was rapid and strong.
“Is that vanity?” He put a finger under her chin, giving her no choice but to face him. “Is it?” He gentled his grip.
The warmth in his voice settled over her like luscious hot chocolate. Melting her insides to quivering burgoo, rendering her speechless, unable to move.
“My dear, lovely Lady Cranfield, I am going kiss you again.”
