Cover Reveals + Book Club Selection + Giveaways!!

It’s hard to believe that August is almost over and the crisp
air is right around the corner! I’m thrilled with the thought of cooler
temperatures, changing leaves, and apple cider on the stove, and it turns out a
lot of people are with me on that. On my last post, I asked what people would
miss about the summer, and it seems a lot of people will be missing NOTHING and
are thrilled we’re getting to winter. Wow!!! Since I’m a snow type of girl — I
can relate! It’s nice to know I’m not alone! Actually, anyone who has read
Awakening knows exactly how much I love winter.

Cooler temps provide the perfect time to hunker down by the
fire and read all of the books we didn’t get to during the summer! Yippee!!!

One totally awesome thing that’s happening this fall is that
Lonely Souls is a book club pick for Bookwhore’s Book Club in September and
October! I’m so thrilled, excited, nervous, etc. about it, but I’m hoping some
of you might join in the fun! Every week they post questions about the story
and then you discuss. I’d love it if you could join in!!

Speaking of books, I wanted to share with you the two latest
covers for both The Witch Avenue Series and the first Watchers Novella!

I’ve got a lot of exciting projects that I’m working on, and
I can’t wait to start setting release dates! Until then, I can at least show
you the beautiful covers that were revealed by so many awesome book bloggers on
August 15th! Thank you to those who participated!!!

Last Days of Summer Blog Hop Giveaway!

We are in the 90s here in Washington so it's safe to say that summer has arrived in the Northwest!! I've got my Zoku popsicle maker stationed in the freezer and am enjoying what's left of summer! I must confess, though, that I'm totally looking forward to autumn and the change of seasons. I know my two bulldogs are feeling the same way. They don't do well in the heat!

A chance to win some cool stuff + NEW SERIES/COVER Details

I’ve wanted to do a
post all week on my blog and now it’s Friday, and I’m finally getting to it! –
Geesh!! Where does the time go??? So the thing I’ve been keeping bottled up all
week is regarding a new series that will be starting in the fall!! I’ve been working
away on it and am super excited! It’s
unlike any that I’ve done so far, and I think the cover will definitely
highlight that fact – but in a good way!! J

One of the things
that’s been sooo cool about the last couple of weeks is that I’ve been working
with Phatpuppy (cover artist) and Teresa (photographer) on the cover for the
new series! It was my first cover that involved a photo shoot with a model,
props, etc. and OMG!! It was amazing to watch the process unfold! Claudia and
Teresa are so talented, and I swear everything they touch turns to magic!!

So after describing my
overall vision to Claudia and Teresa, they were somehow able to decipher what
the heck I was talking about and the process began!! It was incredible to watch
it come together and that was only possible because I had such amazing people
creating the cover art. Claudia and Teresa’s work was gorgeous and the model
(Taylor) was beautiful and totally knew how to create the vibe I was hoping
for. There was even a leather artisan (Chris) who created the leather pieces I
needed… (Yes, there’s black leather involved) I can’t
wait to show you, but it won’t be for a little bit longer. I know I’m being
cryptic, but that’s the way it’s got to be for a short while!! A BIG thank you
to the people who made the cover possible over the last few weeks!!!

Now for all of those
who have written to me about when Altered Souls is coming out - not to fear!!
It will still be coming out before the new series starts!!! J I’m hoping for early fall and will definitely
keep everyone posted. The cover reveal for that is scheduled for mid-August
along with the cover for the first Watchers Novella!! Yay!!

Official Lonely Souls Blog Tour! July 9th-14th!

It has finally arrived! The Lonely Souls Blog Tour has officially started! Yay!!!! There are reviews, interviews, excerpts, and of course a couple of huge giveaways!!! I'm so excited and nervous at the same time!! I hope you can swing by the tour stops and check out all of the awesomeness going on! Each day there are new posts going up on the below book blogs, and it will be so much fun if you could participate!

This last week has been a very busy one, which was good because it gave me time not to be so completely nervous about everything coming up! Plus, I had a great idea at 10 pm one night night last week to dye my hair, which turned a nice orange color (mixed with brown) so that added some comic relief! I kept my hair in a ponytail and made it through the July 4th holiday until I could get it fixed on Thursday!

I'm still not sure how the color on the box turned out to be the color on my head! LOL! Anyway....

It’s two weeks before Triss turns 18, and her world is about to change into the most magical one imaginable as she readies herself to enter The Witch Avenue Order... that is until her mother’s disappearance. Instead of celebrating her transformation, she finds herself spreading rose petals into her mother’s empty grave.

When Logan, her best friend from junior high, moves back to town for college, he vows to help her find the answers she so desperately seeks surrounding her mother’s disappearance. As they begin uncovering clues, it becomes apparent that the life of white magic they both grew up loving is not what the majority practices, and their lives are in danger.

With a haunting feeling that her mother may still be alive, she begins to hear a call to the wilderness. Triss realizes that in order to find the answers she needs, she must learn the ways of her ancestors and become the hunter, not the hunted before it’s too late, and she becomes part of the lonely souls.

Legions

As the magical holiday season is disrupted with an afternoon of horror, it becomes apparent that the Legions have begun their uprising around the globe, and Ana does her best to stay strong even though her world has been shattered. It is up to Ana to find the strength within and not fall prey to the dark side as she begins her chase to reclaim what’s rightfully hers.

Realizing that Ana’s visions alone are not enough to protect them, her family begins her training immediately before she is targeted once more. The Legions will not quit until they get what they want, and they have made it clear that mortals will not be spared, leaving Ana little time to figure out what it is the demons are after.

As Ana balances her time between chasing after her destiny and spending her time relearning how to fight demons, she learns something about her past that could change why she’s fighting for anything at all. Clues continue to unfold in the form of yellowed letters she finds from Athen buried within an old Tudor home; and her future is signaled in a lone, white rose left for only her to see giving her the strength to persevere. She is determined to not give up faith that she will have it all once more.

Cataclysm

When it becomes obvious that the dark side will stop at nothing to control the mortal world, Ana is faced with a decision that could determine the fate of Fallen Angels everywhere.

Determined to not use mortals as pawns, Ana does her best to prepare for the battles ahead while protecting the innocent souls around the world.

As danger looms at every turn, she realizes that the ones she thought were prey might actually be the predators, and it will take an army like never before to stop the wickedness from spreading throughout the world.

Lonely Souls Excerpt!!! Lonely Souls Tour!!! Watchers Trilogy Tour!!!

Hi everybody!!

Things have been super busy at my house as I’m putting
together swag packs, and finishing up loose ends for the 2 Blog Tours I have
coming up!! It’s been super fun, and I
hope you all can stop by and participate!! My living room and dining room look
like bookmarks and bookplates have exploded all over!! Hopefully I don’t get
too many drop-in visitors!! Lonely Souls
will be released on June 29th, so I’m mailing out books as well! Mark you
calendars!! ☺

My poor little Buttercup (our youngest bulldog) has started
limping again, so I’m hoping that keeping her off her leg helps it, so she
doesn’t need surgery again. We even carry her out to go potty so let’s hope she
gets better!! She’s had doggie ACL surgery once before and sure enough, the
same leg is the problem. It always makes me so nervous! Let’s all think good
thoughts for her!!

You all have been so very wonderful, and I just wanted to
say another thank you!! I’ve gotten some very touching emails, and I really
appreciate the great feedback that I’ve gotten from so many of you. This whole process has been an adventure, and
I feel so lucky that you guys have given me such amazing support by placing
reviews, or posting on my Facebook, or sending emails, etc. It all has meant a
lot to me and has been so unexpected, but absolutely wonderful – so thank
you!!! To get everyone excited

Excerpt from Lonely Souls

“Do you approve, Miss Spires?” His
voice sent chills through me, and I let myself enjoy it this one time.

“More than you could ever know.” My
laughter finally subsiding, I allowed myself to be held by Logan as I watched
the cars speed away in several different directions. We weren’t supposed to do
spells on unwilling participants unless there was a reason like protecting
oneself or prohibiting something dangerous, but I couldn’t see how this one
time would hurt anything. They deserved it.

“Things never change,” I said
slyly.

“Okay for you to say it, huh?” Logan
asked, letting his arms relax around me.

“Remember when we were at recess in like sixth grade and that girl pushed me down to the ground at the tetherball station, and you
swooped in all superhero like and bonked her on the head with the tetherball?”
I asked, trying to ignore the desire that was swirling deep inside me.

“Yeah? he asked.

“Well, she deserved it too, and I’m
not sure I ever told you thank you.” I spun around on my knees, not realizing
just how close that made us. His lips were only inches from mine, and I never
meant for that to happen.

“Triss,” his voice low and his lips
moving slowly as he spoke every word, “you are very welcome.”

His finger traced my arm gently as
he brought me in close, and I shut my eyes to regroup only to feel the softness
of his lips touch down on mine.
