Teaser from Altered Souls, Contest, and pics to share!
We went to a costume party last night, and I haven’t gone to one in forever so
it was fun to dress up! I’ve got a couple picture posted below. J I was a pirate wench!
My husband has the horse head on. The other picture was me next to the hostess of
the party. She wore a witch outfit, and I’m in the short costume.

We’ve also been hearing lots of tappy tappy noises in our attic,
with some gnawing noises for an added bonus! This isn’t how I wanted to start
the winter months… Every rodent came to mind, and I shuddered at the thought of
them all! My hubby was trying to figure out where it was coming in at (whatever
it
was) and then it went silent……….. Well, then the chewing and scratching
started again, so I opened up the sliding door to go outside, and the next thing
I knew a squirrel turned around to greet me. (Yay!! A squirrel - not anything else
and a cute one at that!!) As the squirrel hung on our chimney, his (or her) big brown eye stared back at me, but then it started to panic, and I had visions of it jumping
on me so I ran outside away from the house. I had my phone and took these
pictures!! I can’t believe how these guys can climb a wall like this!!! It made
me paranoid to walk outside through the slider because I could totally picture it
jumping on my head, like in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation!! Aaaah!!! Anywho,
my husband plugged up the hole and the squirrel moved on. Phew!! Can you
believe how it climbed?
Altered Souls is getting closer to the release day - Halloween!

Teaser from Chapter 1
“Are you okay over there?” Logan asked, turning from the flames
to face me. His brilliant blue eyes were completely void of darkness, and it
was difficult to resist the urges running through me.
I nodded as my eyes landed back on the spell that seemed too
perfect to ignore. The one I had just perfected in the kitchen. Should I share
it with Logan?
“This might be something we could try,” I spoke softly, tapping
the page with my finger and gesturing for Logan to come sit next to me. I knew
Trevor couldn’t hear anything up in the attic, but I felt more comfortable
discussing his fate in a hushed voice.
“Did you know there were things out there like this?” I asked,
as Logan sat down next to me.
Placing the book on his lap, I watched him carefully, hoping to
gauge his reaction, and of course he didn’t give me one as he stared at the
picture of a spider feeding on someone’s flesh.
“I think we should give it a shot,” I tried again, hoping to let
him in on my little secret.
Logan’s lips barely began moving. They looked deliciously soft,
but I couldn’t get caught up in that right now, especially with our captive
only one floor above our heads. It would be wrong on so many levels.
“Triss,” he began, while closing the spell book and turning to
face me. “That’s not exactly what I’d call white magic.”

Altered Souls Snippet (Chapter 1)
I’ve gotten quite a few requests for more pictures from our New England trip, so thanks for caring, guys!! I’ve included a few more. I never know how much to put out there because I don’t want to bore you to pieces!!! LOL!!! Pics are at the bottom.
As you know, the first ‘bracelet’ contest has come to an end, but not to worry I’ve got a different bracelet from our trip that I’ll post for a giveaway in a couple weeks. Until then, I’ve got a Halloween contest I wanted to share before October leaves us. I picked this poncho (it could also double as a table topper) up at one of our local boutiques and thought is was cute for the holiday! AND as you probably know, Lonely Souls has a web on the cover, and it also plays a little in the story so I thought this was perfectly matched!
So you could actually see the lacework, I’ve posted the picture of it that I found online.
As you can see it’s pretty cool on the table too, but since there’s a slit for the head, you’d have to plop pumpkins in the middle or something.Anywho, this Halloween Contest will run until October 16th when I’ll randomly choose a winner and send it out priority mail so you get it in a day or so after the contest ends.

Altered Souls
(Witch Avenue Series #2)
“You are so beautiful,” he murmured, as he gently cupped my face, allowing his finger to trace its way back down my neck to my collarbone. “Do you have any idea how hard it is to be so close to you every night?”
“I think I can imagine.” I tried to stifle a nervous giggle.
Leaning down, his lips met mine and my insides melted with his slightest touch. I could feel the softness of his lips mold to mine as I slid my arm around his waist. Feeling the firmness of his entire body pressed against mine created an unstoppable force between us. Wrapping his shirt around my knuckles I brought him closer to me, but I felt him pull away slightly. Opening my eyes, I saw where I had pulled on his shirt. My tug of his clothing had revealed something dark on his skin that caught my eye, but he pulled his shirt collar back up quickly.
“You have a tattoo?” I asked, not wanting our session to be over.
“Kind of. Listen we should get back inside,” Logan’s words hit me like the thunder out in the distance. I wasn’t sure what I had done or why a tattoo would be a big deal, but it seemed to be.

Altered Souls Snippet (Chapter 1) + Pre-Halloween Contest

all finished now, and I can’t wait to show you! Claudia and Ashley did amazing
work on it. I’m hoping to reveal it in November!! J I’ve posted a snippet of
Chapter 1 of Altered Souls below… Many people asked me for a piece between
Logan and Triss so that’s what I chose!

Back from our New England Trip! Bracelet & Gift Card to celebrate!
We’ve been home almost a week from our New England trip, and
I’m almost in the swing of things! ~ Not quite though ~ I feel like fall should
have arrived in Washington state with colder temps and turning leaves, but
we’re in the 80s. Hmmm. Wait a sec! I’m
sure I’m confused because we were busy touring all of the country roads that
NH, VT, NY, and MA had to offer with beautiful old farmhouses and stone
churches popping up everywhere. I felt like I was in Sleepy Hollow, and I loved
it!
Thankfully, I have the most patient husband as I faithfully gave
directions leading us to Concord, Massachusetts (even though we were staying in
Concord, New Hampshire) or deciding we should take the ‘scenic route’ to some
destination that added another two hours to our journey. Oops! He’s the most
awesome travel companion EVER!
A few of the places we got to see were the Louisa May Alcott
home, a ghost town in the Adirondacks, Fort Ticonderoga + a corn maze, the
witches of Salem, the beauty of Portsmouth, and the Canterbury Shaker Village.
I loved the history that we were able to absorb, and I thoroughly appreciated
everything we managed to squeeze in.
The one and only thing that was puzzling, since I’m a
Seattle girl, was the lack of Starbucks on every corner. I’m so used to getting
my Starbucks fix whenever needed that I was stunned to find out that I could
drive hours and there wouldn’t be one in sight. It actually made it a fun challenge!
Instead of Where’s Waldo it was Where’s the Siren? When it got serious,
however, I whipped out my Starbucks app and got the answer. J
We were both ready to come home when the day finally
arrived. We missed our English Bulldogs, family, and friends. No matter how
nice the vacation, it’s always nice to come home.
I’ve been working away on the Witch Avenue Series and am
about to begin figuring out the cover for the third book in the series! I can’t
wait to work with Claudia on it. She’s amazing!! That’s always a fun task. I
hope to have the cover to unveil at the same time the second book, Altered
Souls, is released.
Also, since the contest on my blog is about to end on the 15th
of September, I thought I’d post one to get us to October! It’s not very cool
of me to talk about a vacay without offering up something kind of neat from it
to you guys! Anyone who follows me on Facebook had some chances along the way
to win some fun prizes, but I thought I better post one over here too.
When I was in Portsmouth, NH, I got so excited because I
found two bracelets that had snakes on them and thought they would be perfect
giveaways since that’s kind of a pivotal creature in Lonely Souls! I came
rushing out of the store with my find and showed them to my hubby who started
grinning his devilish grin right before he pointed out the legs on the
bracelets. Apparently, neither are snakes! Oh well! They are still pretty cool
bracelets!! I swear!! >>>>>See picture below<<<<<

Back to the Books Hop...Altered Souls coming October 2012!
Hi everyone!! Thanks for stopping by! I’m currently squeezing
in a vacation before summer completely makes its exit! I hope you all have had
a nice summer! It went quick here, but I’m fine with that because I love the
winter months.
I’m currently in Lake Placid getting lots of great ideas for
books to come! It has been fun touring around MA, VT, and NH. It is so nice to
get lost on the beautiful country roads. I’ve loved it! We’ve taken lots of
pictures!
