Got the flu again? Your toothbrush could be to blame!
I read this piece of interesting information on Cosmopolitan magazine yesterday and thought I should share it with you. Apparently if you have the flu and you brush your teeth with your toothbrush there is a good chance that the bug lingers on your toothbrush and could possibly come back to reinfect you. 'So its better to throw out your toothbrush and get a new one as soon as you are cured to make sure you don't get infected again!
Now this might explain why whenever I get the flu it would disappear for a few days then repeatedly comes back again and again and again for a month or two! I never threw my toothbrush away! Now that I am supposedly on my long awaited annual vacation yet I am suffering from such a bad case of the flu I can't lift my head off my pillow, I am adament on throwing away my toothbrush as soon as I feel better just to make sure I don't get it again.
Now why didn't any of the doctors or dentists ever share this information with us before? Oh well Cosmo, walaw inah its my least favorite magazine out there, ma ga9arat o shared this information with its readers o I am sharing it with you. You've been warned, change the bloody toothbrush.
Picture of the Week: Bubbles
Bubbles must be one of the most happiness inducing things in life. Whenever I use soap I make sure to produce as many bubbles as possible and then try to blow them away. Fairy liquid produces the most luscious bubbles ever tra

And the winner of the Philips Lumea is…
Well we've had so many participants masha2 Allah. I really wish I had as many Lumea's to give to everyone who participated because I hate to see you guys not win
I had a hard time correcting the answers. Many of you were mistaken with the actual price of the device confusing it with a price I had said in a previous post. Obviously the correct price is what was printed on the device which is 400 pounds regardless of what I said in previous posts. That was the tricky part.
Anyways the results are final. I assume that whomever wins is an actual person and had provided an actual email. Just in case that was not true I will draw a back up winner. If you study outside Kuwait then you can ask one of your family members to pick it up for you. If you live outside Kuwait then you will have to provide the pickup and shipping.
I have assigned numbers to the correct answers as per their answering order. So the numbers are as follows…
1- Swera
2- Ridhima Rastogi
3- New Q8 Bride
4- Aysha
5- Baniaz
6- Aa Alyaa

11- Mona
12- Dear Romeo
13- Blissful
14- Hafsa

16- Fajer Jamal
17- Sumayya
18- Dalal
19- AIW

Shino '3adakom Elyoom?
Thursday is here and the weekend is about to start! What are you planning for lunch? Eating in the office? Bel zwara? At home? Skipping lunch?
You know what I am craving? A BBQ! I want a shawaya filled to the brim with coal! I want to BBQ corn, potatoes, veggies, and paneer/halloum cheese skewers! I want to swat flies off while others are grilling their hamburgers or steaks. I want to smell smoke, eat carbonated burned food, and dust soot off my food. I want a BBQ. I am literally LUSTING over a BBQ. The feel of a BBQ, the gathering of a BBQ. The laughter and abundance of food and skewers of grilled food and salads and condiments and cold drinks drenched with ice.
Ma7ad yabi y3zemni 3la BBQ? Much obliged moqadama :p
The Philips Lumea Competition… Answer now to win
I will ask five questions in the end of this post. The answers should be derived from this posts contents and should be easy and straightforward. The commentors who get all five answers right will enter a draw today at midnight which will determine the winner. I will not approve comments on this post until midnight also so people don't read each other's answers :p
The competition is open until 11:59 PM on Thursday 8 December 2011. So here goes, read the post first.
When I received the Philips Lumea box that I am giving away today, I couldn't help but compare it to my Philips Lumea box which I bought from the UK.
My UK purchased Lumea box on the left has a picture of a pretty lady wearing a nighty on it. The box of your Lumea will come with a picture of Lumea only which should be exciting enough for the Arab population :p
My UK Lumea also comes with a reassuring 60 days results guarantee or your money back + 87% of Glamour magazine readers say it does work. We do not have such an offer in Kuwait but I assure you that it did work for me. It really did. But this should be reassuring in Kuwait because I checked where both Lumea's weremade and they were made in the exact same place.
Another similarity I noticed was the Skin/Hair guide for the Lumeas. Both were identical and in English of course. If you want to participate in this competition please check the guide first to determine if the product is suitable or will be effective for you.
Another difference I noticed that on the UK box they give an estimated life time for the device by stating the number of times the light bulb of the Lumea will work. It doesn't say anything like that on the Arabic Lumea though.
Now let me show you what comes with your Lumea package based on what's inside the Lumea UK package. A Lumea CD.
A purple travel bag which I've never used before. My Lumea is kept in a beautiful clear acrylic box of her own like a princess :pand a progress sheet and monitor for you to keep track of your Lumea usage. For best results you must use your Lumea regularly every two weeks on the same spot.
One more piece of information for people who want to use the Lumea then its questions time.
And the post is done. All you have to do is answer the five questions below by leaving a comment and wait till midnight. Good Luck
Question 1: What comes inside the box of the Philips Lumea with the Lumea device?
Question 2: What is the estimated life time of the Lumea lamp in number of flashes?
Question 3: Where were the Philips Lumea of Kuwait and Philips Lumea of the UK made?
Question 4: Will the Lumea be effective on Light Blonde hair over Mid Brown Skin or not?
Question 5: How much, in sterling pounds, did my Philips Lumea cost when bought from the UK?
Did you answer them? Easy mo? Double checked your answers? OK then again good luck and wait for the winners announcement tonight at midnight. You might be the winner of this lovely gadget tomorrow. Stay Tuned

Competitions: Win a Philips Lamea
Two years ago as I was browsing Boots aisles in the UK I stumbled upon a new product called "Philips Lumea". A compact handheld light emitting device that can be used at home to remove excess hair once and for all.
At first I was skeptic. It must be a sham or something like it. Could it be? A laser like hair removal at home? It was simply too good to be true. The price tag of £440 didn't make matters any more appealing. I stepped away.
Then by the time I went home, I got myself a Philips Lamea.
I thought to myself that it may work. Why would they sell something, market it as a safe to be used at home IPL hair removal system when it wouldn't work? This is the UK after all and if it doesn't work I can always go back to Boots and demand my money back, mo?
Back home I used it and let me tell you this: it is worth every penny in that £440! That's like 44000 pennies. The device works! It really does! You can notice results from the first time around! It is also very safe because the light thing doesn't go off unless its completely attached to your skin, you cannot fire it in the air for example.
Do you know what that meant? No more waiting for doctor's appointments. No more paying endless dinars for endless painful sessions. No more body touching by cold strangers hands. Best of all its yours, all yours, and you can use it on whatever body part you wish whenever you wish at your own convenience in the haven of your own home at any time of day, be it at the crack of dawn or the middle of the night. So it stings a little, no pain no gain, but take it from someone who had tears streaming down her cheeks when she underwent laser treatments, it is like one quarter the pain!
Now the good news is, Philips Lamea has finally made it to Kuwait! It is being stocked by X-Cite Al-Ghanim and sold for around 180-190 KD. Initially I was contacted by X-Cite Al-Ghanim and offered a Philips Lamea device to try and post about. I never did that before and to be frank I didn't feel comfortable doing so but I have tried the Philips Lamea and I personally swear by it.
So what did we work out?
I will have a competition. I will post more about the Philips Lamea tomorrow morning insha2 Allah and end the post with several questions. The readers who answer the questions right will enter a draw to win one Philips Lamea, the Philips Lamea I was offered to try. Its there, packaged and gleaming and waiting for some hair to kill off, so if you want to have one for yourself and trust me when I say this, it does work, then make sure you participate in the competition tomorrow morning for the chance to win a Philips Lamea and get rid of the laser session appointments once and for all.
Stay tuned

My New Beautiful Warm Cosy Winter Bisht
You know I am really not a fan of local designers artistic creations which in 80% of the time are nothing but mere khalajeen. I don't even own a dara3a nor have I waited for any dara3a "collection" to come out. But the other day I saw something that caught my eye and made me really want to buy it. The Qumar 14 winter bisht, this picture in particular…
[image error]I don't know if it was the cold, or the way the model had hugged the bisht so tightly, or the fact that it felt so soft, warm, and cosy. All I know is that I had contacted the designer right away and practically stalked her until she sold me one the moment it was ready for sale.
Initially I was torn between the purple and the brown but then I have this theory that the most beautiful color is the color designers use to showcase their items so I went with the brown. After all I hate purple and I love browns.
Ever since I had received it I've been wearing it non stop and its so comfortable and warm
Not only is it warm and comfy, it is also so pretty! I keep touching the sleeves and tucking them in and out, marveling at their beauty.
The good thing is that the sleeves do not cling to your wrists so you can move your arms freely -o atmaqa6 eb kaifi-.
Also, the bisht material even though very warm its not wool based -I think- and if it was then its not the kind that makes you itch. My body cannot tolerate wool and I avoid it like the plague. But this Bisht doesn't cause me to itch at all.
Never have I before wanted to poses another blogger's photography style. Yet when I was taking picture of my luscious new bisht I wished I had Me Blogging's eye for beautiful style details and photography techniques Masha2 Allah.
Masha2 Allah la elaha Ella Allah Me Blogging is the only one who could truly bring out its full force of beauty while using a camera lens. I need lessons girl, I mean it :p
Beautiful work by Qumar 14. I love the brand's name too. Thank you so much for a job well done and I wish you the best of luck!
Eshraykom ib Bishty el7lo?

The New Nespresso Capsule Flavors
My husband's friend was recently in Dubai when he saw the new Nespresso capsule flavors so he very generously brought my husband all three new flavors to try given that he knows my husband's obsession with Nespresso's coffee.
The three new flavors are: Cherry, Vanilla, and Chocolate! Yes CHOCOLATE! I'm not sure if they are sold in Kuwait or not yet but from what I've heard they aren't. If that's the case we are lucky to have them at home in our Nespresso Capsules Collection.
I am not a cherry loving person so I will keep those for Bu Tootee. The vanilla didn't entice me much to be frank but the chocolate was calling me, teasing me, and screaming to be brewed immediately. How could I resist it?
So I wasted no time making my self a cup of the new Chocolate flavor coffee. It has the slightest hint of chocolate flavor when you sip it. If you add milk it will not taste like mocha at all so its better consumed as an espresso with a hint of dark chocolate. Mmmmm it was about time Nespresso made a chocolate flavored coffee capsules!
I highly recommend the Chocolate Capsules for now. Thank you Bassam for your generosity, you truly made our day
