Is there a meningitis epidemic in Kuwait?
OK for some reason this post keeps erasing its contents. Let me rewrite it again.
I read somewhere that a worked from a supermarket had collapsed and died from meningitis. Meningitis is basically a disease that effects the thing that covers the brain and the spinal cord and is very dangerous. Now I am not one to fall for rumors nor do I care for the consipiy theory so I didn't care much for the news that more sick people were brought to Farwaniya hospital and that MOH had refused the rumors saying only one died and one is infected.
Then my husband comes home telling me that his friend came to warn him against the epidemic. Apparently his friend's sibling works as a doctor in the said hospital and is saying that there is in fact an epidemic and that very contagious cases are brought into the public wards of the hospital! My suspicion grew when I read this morning that the workers in Farwaniya hospital are striking because they want to be vaccinated against meningitis and in another piece of news the president of the MOH workers union is asking for vaccinations for the hospital's workers as well!
Heading to wikipedia in a panic, I read about meningitis (link). I didn't understand much about prevention and how its transferred but I did understand the main symptoms 1- Severe Headache and 2- Stiffness in the neck and 3- Vomiting.
So now, epidemic or not, what are we supposed to do? When they are warning us, warning us against what exactly? Getting out of the house? Not wearing a mask? Getting a vaccination? True we have been vaccinated from the meningitis as children but that vaccination works only in our childhood years and is currently ineffective!
Should we be scared? Well frankly I am! On top of all the crap we read and hear every day we have a potential epidemic cover up that may or may not be true. From what I heard the dead man worked in a very big place that is visited by Kuwaitis almost daily! Y3ni according to the movie Contagion it may already spread everywhere! When you scare people and say "deraw balkom"… what does that entitle really?
Are you scared? Well now I am! Shensawee?

What would you want in your own Boudoir?
If someone came up to you and gave you the opportunity to have your own "bodouir". That is, a room for you and you only to do whatever you want to do in it on your own. They also said you can design it whatever way you want, however size your want, and decorate it as you like. What would you do?
I was watching SATC movie the other day when Carrie got her dream closet and I thought to myself that I really really really want my very own boudoir! I want a room with a lot of sunlight streaming in and lots of floor to ceiling windows, a skylight perhaps as well, with a comfortable couch/bed and my own tv and DVDs. An entire wall lined with books on built in well lit shelf. A BOSE music system built into the room where my favorite music would be playing all day long. A little kitchenette for my coffee supplies. Plenty of fluffy pillows and warm blankets all around for me to keep warm and comfortable.
The most important feature of my own boudoir is a triple lock on the door to keep intruders out. I absolutely want no human being inside my little haven on earth that is all mine and no one else's.
What would you do if you got the chance to design and have your own boudoir?

London Xmas Lights 2011: St. Martin's Courtyard
St. Martin's Courtyard is a little hidden gym between the alleys of London just before if not within Covent Garden. One turn to the right when seeing the Slingby Place road sign and suddenly you are taken into a tiny, modern, new, and quiet exciting new place to shop at, dine al fresco at, get to spend some cash shopping, or simply relax and unwind with a massage.
St. Martin's Courtyard is one of London's newest shopping destinations. Its Xmas decorations were spectacular too! I now leave you with pictures of the lovely Xmas decorations.
My 12 Resolutions for 2012 :)
Happy New Year Everyone!
Its 2012 already! Is it just me or was 2011 over in a blink?
Was 2011 good or bad for you? It was a crazy turbulent year globally with all the uprisings in the middle east and all. It was quiet crazy for me too! I also managed to get a good number of things accomplished this year which is a big achievement on its own for me! I published a book, got a lot of publicity, and made a lot of new lovely friends in my fellow bloggers
This was 11 resolutions for the year 2011… lets see how I did
Danderma's 2011 11 goals:
Lose weight. At least 10 Kilos (11 would be perfect). I GAINED WEIGHT! URGH!
Take better care of my self and my health. Trying to, wallah!
Try and eat more healthy (less bread more veggies & protein). Did so, on and off though.
Get my FB group fans to reach 250 (so i want 80 new fans). Its at 1927 Fans Masha2 Allah

Post more Dathra posts (i have several lined up btw). I published Dathra in a BOOK!

OK so far so good. Lets make 12 resolutions for 2012 that doesn't include losing weight or being healthy or whatever. I did post about them in here but ma 3jbonee… ba'3ayer keifi :p

Go to Hajj?
Learn to play the piano. I have a post coming up about that. Stay tuned!

Use the ice cream maker I got for my 30th birthday and make frozen yogurt with it!
Read some more. I have MANY books waiting to be read. At least ten pages per day!
Eliminate all things emitting negativity from my life. For my peace of mind. I've had enough.
Get an iPhone and say good buy to BB forever. Its actually something that I am intending to do these days :p
Post more regularly. I do have tons of posts to share but no time to organize them all.
Speaking of time: Allocate a cherished ME only time where no one, absolutely no one, can interrupt me. I so need that time. Badly.
This is the last and the most important resolution ever: I am who I am. I will not change for anybody's sake. I will not pretend to be something I am not just to please people or because society expects me to do so, Period. You like me ahlan wa sahlan. You don't like me ako alf 6ofa for 6ag el roos.
Insah2 Allah etha Allah ketab lena 3omor we get to see what we accomplished in 2012 on New Years day 2013. I wouldn't be surprised if 2012 went even faster than 2011!

Ten Things I Cannot Stand About Air Planes
1- The odor! Its like being wrapped like a mummy in bandages made of cheap wet wipes for hours on end!
2- The reclining seat in front of you that suddenly blocks your airway when the person occupying it decides he wants to be comfortable.
3- The tiny bathrooms with the noisiest flush on earth that scares the hell out of you and the sneaky door locks that I can never figure out.
4- The fact that there are no trash bins and you are stuck with your own trash for the entire journey g63.
5- Babies screaming bloody murder in every single flight that takes off on planet earth. Can't there be a baby free flight? Or seats or zones?
6- The seat trays! Useful yes but the plastic used to make them is ugly and if they are dirty they would be so disgusting you just want to kill your self!
7- Turbulences. They scare me. They always happen and when they do I am almost reduced to the point where my entire life plays in front of my eyes. I hate them.
8- The annoying safety videos played in the very beginning which you must pay attention complete with the emergency exit signs. We have them memorized by heart! And frankly after watching LOST I doubt anyone would be organized in case of emergency!
9- When you order a vegetarian meal and they mistake you for a goat and fill your tray with every kind of unidentifiable green produce available to munch on! What's wrong with Spaghetti and tomato sauce?
10- When your watching a movie, if you are lucky to have your entertainment screen working that is, and they keep interrupting the program to announce something over and over again in every spoken language known to man kind on planet earth until you forget what you were watching all together and the whole movie is ruined for you!
May god help me for I am boarding a plane back home tonight. Happy new year every one. See you tomorrow back home insah2 Allah

Shino '3adakom Elyoom?
Its getting cold, its almost noon, and I am hungry. All I can think of is lunch! Thursday is here and the long weekend is about to start! What are you planning for lunch? Eating in the office? Bel zwara? At home? Skipping lunch?
So let me ask you the eternal daily q8y question: 'Shino '3adakom?' I am craving soft soft buns with mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and little slices of sharp cheddar cheese. I want to devour an entire bag of the little fellas. Mmmm.

Things 2 Get 4m London: Fred Flare's Items
The quirky side of my taste adores Fred's items. Every time they have something new I must utter a little cry! Shopping in Selfridges I saw these little Salt and Pepper shakers in battery like canisters!
I just couldn't help grabbing them! 7elween mo?
There were also salt and pepper light switch! Click once and the salt will be dispensed, click again and the pepper will be dispensed! Wacky and clever!
Also there were these cupcake holders shaped like a cup.
This was one of my favorites! The OCD Chef cutting board! You can cut the vegetables within a precision of one millimeter using this board! Brilliant!
Which one do you like best
