My Apple Mania…

As a new Apple convertee I missed the ease of popping my memory card into my tablet and having the pictures transported to it where I can edit and post them immediately. However I found this amazing little attachments in the Apple store the other day which saved my a lot of my time and my sanity.

They both come in the same box for around £25. One you can be used to attach the camera cable to your iPad and the other you can use to pop your memory card directly. Now all I have to do is pop it to my iPad and download my pictures and that's it. No more downloading to my PC and editing then synchronizing to my iPad or updating iCloud. The 3bala is taken out of the iPad once and for all.

It also attaches to the iPad dock. I also got the Apple wireless mouse which is so cute, tiny, compact, and modern just the way the late Mr. Jobs liked them. Plus it gives clickty clacky sound when you type on it! So cool.

So now my iPad, keyboard, dock, and memory card reader I've got the smallest most compact best looking most minimalist modernistic computer ever! I think I am getting the Apple mouse to complete the set.

I love my iPad so much I just want to keep buying accessories for it to test its potential

Now what more should I buy to spoil my iPad? Any ideas :p

The Ugliest Ferrari I've Ever Seen

We were walking around Covent garden when suddenly there was a hubbub and people were stopping and taking pictures. We stock in our tracks only to see the ugliest Ferrari I have ever seen in my life parked in front of us! Its a Ferrari limousine and painted in an MnM's orange color!

At first I thought its just a limousine that looks like a Ferrari. The idea of a Ferrari is to be fast and compact not a limo! I got closer behind the car and sure enough it is a Ferrari!

Then the Ferrari door opened and a European or American lady got in with her shopping. Thank god it wasn't owned by an Khaleeji man who was showing off! How the door opened was the only cool thing about that limo hybrid.

That Ferrari revved its noisy engine and went away. Why would anyone buy a Limousine that is a Ferrari is beyond me. Didn't even think it was possible. I wonder how much it costs?

Things 2 Do in London: The Icecreamist

A few years back as I had just finished my tea at the Yellow Cafe in Selfridges I saw a small ice cream place that was set up right opposite the Yellow Cafe. At first glance you wouldn't think its an ice cream place as its styled in a funky gothic style with black and neon interiors with skulls.

We were too full by then to try it and it was out last day in London. By the time I went back next year it was long gone and I've since regretted not trying it. I heard so much about it so when I knew it had just opened in Covent Garden market I had to stop there.

We sat down inside a black painted dining area with neon lights blazing and funky music blazing. Black plastic chairs and a purple neon blinking and reflecting shadows over every black surface. Very modern and very different.

Decor with a sense of humor…

As we sat down we were handed the menu.

It was one page long. Ice creams come in 3 scoops inside a martini glass -without martini- and you can choose from their current selection. Hot chocolates and ice cream sandwiches have a good share too.

Doughnuts are real big  on the menu. There is Doughnut flavored ice cream and a doughnut deal with two doughnuts topped with an ice cream scoop and a hot coffee.

I ordered my self a black American coffee.

Butootee ordered a chilli hot chocolate. It came in a pint sized cup and was HUGE!

The chili hot chocolate was topped with mounds and mounds of whipped cream! They just wouldn't end. The hot chocolate was very good though. Really really good.

What did I order? A cup with three scoops: Madagascan Vanilla, Dark chocolate & Orange, and Fererro Roche! Topped with chocolate sauce and caramelized hazelnut

Close up…

Was it good? I loved it. The Fererro Rochet and the dark chocolate and orange especially. The vanilla was just blah and tasteless.

The ice cream was good and not on the heavy side at all. I wished there were more varieties and different options or toppings for the ice creams like bananas for example. 7safa mako.

The girls at the table next to us had ordered the doughnut deal and the ice cream sandwich. I managed to "discreetly" snap photos of their dishes.

O this is what's left of my order :p

Our bill came out to about £17 without service charge or tip. After we were done we checked out the take away section which continues merchandise for sale like T-Shirts and pins plus their ice cream flavors too.

We enjoyed our time very much. Their ice cream is good too. Not as good as the gelato found in Italy but it is satisfactory good. They have a fondue for two that I'd love to try the next time I am there.

The place is new, different, stylish, and hip. It is also worth noting that The Icecreamist is the ice cream boutique that came with a "Baby Gaga" ice cream which was made from human breast milk G63. The ice cream flavor was very controversial and they tried to ban it but to no avail. After its release Lady Gaga  also filed a law suit against the icecreamist demanding a name change. She won, the name was changed to Baby Gogo. It is no longer on the menu by the way fa don't worry.

The icecreamist is located in Covent Garden's market. For more information you can visit their website (link).

London Xmas Lights 2011: St. Christopher's Place Street

Though I didn't take many pictures of London this year since I've been very sick with a bad bout of flu I managed to snap a few unsatisfactory shots of St. Christopher Place's decorations. The theme for this year is Disco!

Though not very Xmasy in nature but they are very beautiful indeed! Little disco balls turning around and reflecting light all over the place! The walls, the people, other hanging orbs!

The entrance from Oxford Street. Bathed in purple lights.

The other end of the place.

So beautiful

I've also posted about Xmas Lights pictures last year of Carnaby Street (post) and other London Streets (post). Always beautiful, always.

Things 2 Do in London: Download a Free Book Every Monday

In Starbucks UK perched on the round table where the drinks are collected is a small black box with little cards inside. Every Monday the cards change. The cards represent a new "book" that can be downloaded for free from iTunes on an Apple device. All you have to do is pick up a card with your coffee for free, turn it around and use the download code provided to have your own free digital copy of the book of the week.

Brilliant indeed! Last Monday it was the observant. This Monday I am not sure as I haven't been in Starbucks yet but I can't wait to see what it is. Why don't we have similar ideas back home? Why doesn't our coffee houses provide something similar? I am sure it would be a big success if something similar was introduced back home. Don't you think so?

London's Xmas Windows: Ted Baker

When you walk in Regents Street you will see a knot of crowd gawking at Ted Baker's window display. Last year they had a Santa showing his suspenders Marilyn Monroe style. This year its a turkey with bugging eyes with a crazy look about them and the fella is just so funny!

I wonder if Ted Baker's shop window in 360 mall has the crazy turkey set up?

A String of Bad Luck?

Something weird is going on and I cannot put my hand on it.

A few days ago my Blackberry died on me. Every single piece of information or data was wiped forever from the device. All my contacts, emails, applications, passwords, images, phone numbers, messages, everything was gone in a blink. Nothing was left. Nada!

So I make do with what little data I could conjure up from my memory. Things go smoothly again until yesterday when my Blackberry dies on me again! This time it simply won't open up! It has been on the charger -which is fine btw- for over 24 hours and no matter what I do it won't work.

Surprise of all suprises the Blackberry is NOT the only thing that is not working. Suddenly, on the same day, my landline phone dies on me as well for no apparent reason! It just sits there like a piece of junk without any response!

So its just the Blackberry and the normal phone? No! The dvd player! The brand new  glossy Samsung DVD player stops dead in its track while showing a movie and that's it! On the same damn day! We turned it off, on, plugged it out, shook it, blown into its, plugged it again. No response, nothing, NADA!

How is it possible for three of my favorite electrical devices to die unexceptionably on me on the exact same day? Just like that? Is it a surge of electricity that maybe fried the circuits? Or something more creepy? or a 3ain? or just a string of bad luck?

Has anything like this happened before to you? Its so weird!

Picture of the Week: Holes

Punch holes, let light into your life. Open the curtains, tear down the walls, break the barriers. Let light. Light means hope, let hope in. There's always a second change, there is always a tomorrow.

London's Xmas Windows: The Apple Store

London's shop window's are interesting year round and are especially more interesting during Xmas time. For example in Apple Store's window you see two tiny elves clad in green and one of them is on top of each other's shoulders watching something on an over sized white iPhone. Quite cute actually and very festive indeed!
