Ansam's amazing surprise gift!

I was just back home, hugging my pillow when I received a call from dear Ansam. She asked me to send someone outside my house to pick up something she is dropping off for me. Then she followed her call by an SMS. 'Enjoy it' it said?

The moment I saw Lenôtre's bag I knew, I just knew, what is inside. Excited, I rush and peek in.

Is it a cake? Is it a sandwich? Is it a loaf of bread?

Yes… yes it is!

Its Lenôtre's acrylic condiment stand! The one they are using in their Ramadan decorations! The one I told chef Sam'an when he dropped by our table in the Ghabga (post) that I love them so much I might steal one away!

Needless to say I was exceptionally happy! The first thing I did after I finished squealing is re-arrange my coffee table such that my new acrylic beauty would be the center piece.

Next is to place something inside, I have so many options: Sugar, chocolate pieces, coffee capsules, Butoote's peppermint candy pieces he can't live without. I added the 3ajwa date pieces and they fit inside like a glove :D

Isn't it sensational? The way the light was caught in the pink acrylic and it glowed like a modern gym. I love love LOVE it

Thank you Ansam :* I don't know you got me the stand I love from Lenôtre but thank you girl, for noticing, for remembering, and for surprising me! Its so great of you, your are spoiling me :* and thank you Lenôtre for parting away with the stand before I stole it :p !

Ishta Soufleé, Life with Cacao's August Highlight

Last food post of the day :p One day in the beginning of Ramadan the door bell had rung and a lovely package was dropped off with my name on it.

The box came with a card with my name on it.

The box contained Ishta Soufleé, the August highlight of Life with Cacao. It is described of a layer of ishta cream topped with a crust of basboosa by Fahad Al-Fahad, the owner of the homemade business Lgaima Sweets.

The Ishta Soufleé had a very ramadanisque feel to it, just the perfect new dessert to try on the start of Ramadan. I heated it in the microwave and tasted it at once.

I prepared my coffee and sat down to take a bite.

How was it? Well the Basboosa was good, the Ishta was good. Together they were in harmony. Yet its not something very new. I've had basboosa with Ishta before. I guess its the presentation and way of cooking that is different in this dessert. But then it is good to have a familiar dessert in the menu during Ramadan.

To contact Life with Cacao to showcase your product as a highlight or for more information you can join Life with Cacao's facebook group (link) or follow them on twitter (link).

What's on your futoor table?

I do realize its my third food post for the day but you have to excuse me for I am starving and I won't be enjoying food for a while because my braces were tightened yesterday and I want to knock my teeth off from the pain.

Anyways I was with my camera on the futoor table yesterday and I thought to my self why not document our futoor for Ramadan 1432? It would be a nice thing to do and share on my blog so in the future I would be able to look back and remember those day. If you like the idea you can do the same on your blog and we could share the ideas :D

Anyways here is our futoor for yesterday, alf el7md le Allah 3la el ne3ma:

Cream of Broccoli Soup.

Meat Tashreeba. It was just poured so it wasn't yet set.

Grilled chicken in a yogurt sauce. My family loves this dish for some reason.

Mama's fattoush, my main futoor dish this Ramadan

Ma7shi, another favorite dish of mine.

Though I only eat the malfoof.

Homemade Moutabal.

Macaroni with vegetables.

Grilled cheese samboosa and grilled Indian kashkoko or something -stuffed with potatoes-

For dessert we had Sara D's Rosewater & Pistachio Cream cake :D

Nesait a9awer el chai wel tamor wel drinks, might update el post later on today. O yes I annoyed the hell out of my parents trying to take pictures while they nagged me to eat as if the food would be flying and my brother wouldn't cooperate in modeling how to pick up food but I won in the end :p Only my baby sister Toomi kept suggesting shots and helped me out. Love you baby :*

So, what's on your futoor table?

Sara D's Rosewater & Pistachio Cream Cake

One of the things I love most about the holy month of Ramadan is the sound of the door bell ringing. Almost 90% of the time its a yummy noqsa sent from some friend or relative to try it. On Saturday after futoor our door bell rang bearing a big white cake box with this tag attached.

It was from my friend and fellow blogger Sara D! Elcard etshaweg mo? I've been looking for a similar card for a while now! Inside was this gorgeous white cake covered in pink rose petals and sprinkled with crushed pistachios!

Sadly I was on my way out so I didn't get to try it till the next day -yesterday- and I am glad I did for I was prepared with my camera. Look how beautiful the cake is.

The cake is Sara D's Rosewater & Pistachio Cream Cake. I remember her once posting about it in her blog (post). You can make your own if you want, I don't have to thought because I have one already :p I cut my self a slice right after futoor.

Its really a gorgeous and quite unusual cake. So beautiful!

Thank you so much dear Sara, we enjoyed every morsel of your beautiful delicious cake :*  Kil 3am wentay ebkhair :D

The Bloggerettes Ghabga in Lenôtre

Dear Ansam threw us a very cosy very intimate bloggerettes ghabga in Lenôtre Sea Side restaurant. We received the invitations a long time ago and have been looking forwards to attending it for quite sometime. Good company, good food, modern settings, Ramadan atmosphere, what's not to anticipate?

I was the last one to arrive and I went straight to the back of the restaurant besides the biggest window over looking the sea. A beautifully set table with candles, glass, and flowers was awaiting me and even more beautiful friends were smiling at the table patiently awaiting my late arrival :D

I loved the purple cutlery. I think they are the same ones being used in Cocoa Room. Do you know where those are sold? I want to have an entirely new dining set at home just so they would go with them if I found them :)

Zara home maybe? Anyways I've said this before and I will say it again, I love everything acrylic. The first thing I bought for my marital house was a pair of acrylic vases. This condiments stand is no exception!

I LOVE this stand. I want this stand.I wanted to steal this stand.

If you know where I can buy these, or perhaps make or customize my own, please do share or I will go back and steal them :p

What's inside them? Dates, spices, and pickles if I am not mistaken.

Every table had a wrapped up menu of the night stating what's for dinner. Yes even dine in customers will have this exact same set menu. It starts with a selection of Lenôtre's famous salad bar and soup. I personally think that Lenôtre's salad bar is by far the best salad bar in Kuwait.

The salad buffet had been entirely revamped for Ramadan with a brand new look. Reminded me of the modern traditional look of Cafe Bazza! Its very trendy.

Beautifully decorated. Really beautiful. I kept snapping pictures of the decor.

There was two kinds of soup.

Hummus, Baba Ghanouj, Rocca Salad, Waraq 3nab, Tabboulah, Fattoush. The works.

There was also Kuwaiti style pickles 6orshi.

There was also Qoozi.

and Kunafa.

As for how the food of the buffet tastes, well I ate nothing from salad buffet because I've not much of an appetite recently but its Lenôtre. Need I say more about the taste?

As we returned from the salad buffet we found our table laden with little bowls filled with more food: Harees, mini fried Kubbet yereesh, teeny samboosa, and hot fresh Lebanese bread.

How was the food? Again I tried nothing except for two tiny samboosa's and they were filled with potatoes and herbs.

I am not really a fan of samboosat potato I think it would have tasted better stuffed with some stringy cheese or herby feta. Kubba and Harees are not my friends but I heard the girls say the Harees needs to come with cinnamon sugar.

Next we were presented with the main dishes. I took many pictures but they were all shaky! There were Sweet & Sour Chicken, Moughrabieh Chicken & Lamb, Shish Bsarak, Fluffly white rice to go with the latter dishes, and Ravioli stuffed with mushrooms in a cream sauce.

I only tried a bit of the Mushroom Cream Ravioli. I have to say it tasted really good even though I am not really a fan of cream sauces. Noon who has my exact same taste buds agreed with me.

We then went with Me Blogging for some me blogging style pictures. The girl tried maskeena but I just proved that day that I am absolutely no model material! This is my favorite picture of me so far taken from Me Blogging blog. Lovely picture hon thank you :*

As we returned to our seats it was time to be presented with the desserts and tea or coffee.

Testo Negro

Layali Ramadan with Apricot Sauce and Um Ali

Rahash and Rose Ice Cream balls

I took a spoonful of everything except the rahash ice cream. Every thing was good. My only comment is that the Um Ali was a bit cold and could have been served in a portion sized miniature bowls.

Khetamoha misk mithil ma ygoloon. Estekanat echwyha. I am living on tea and water this Ramadan! Food wise we are done, but we had two surprises in store for us that night. The first one was a draw for us to win a dinner for four invitation. My number was 7.

and the winner was… Me Blogging :D Testahal wallah 7bebty la3abna feha le3eb o ehe et9awerna Me Blogging style :* I stole this amazing picture min Pink Girl Blog my picture was boring :p Matgool shay 7abeeba :)

We had a very nice ghabga. My first ghabga in Ramadan 1432! It was nice seeing my favorite girls on one table: AnsamUm 3zooz, Pink Girl, Me Blogging, Noon, 7aji Dude, and FJ Bliss :)

A big thank you for MMC group for the lovely service and the breathtaking dinner setting. Good job :D

Oh another thing, check this out…

Dine in Lenôtre during Ramadan and 10% of your bill will be donated to Bayt Abdullah. Such a generous offer! I hope other restaurants follow suit in Ramadan and after Ramadan b3d. Thank you Lenôtre!
