August's Top 100 Kuwaiti Blogs According to Alexa

3eedkom Embarak o kel 3am o entaw ebkhair :D Lets see how blogs have done over Ramadan in the summer on the second day of Eid!

For the first time ever I am in the TOP TEN blogs of Kuwait. Now that's a cause for celebration :D Some blogs did well, some blogs were set back. Surprisingly many new blogs have made it into the top 100 list. I do have the my declaimers like always…

Disclaimer One The blogs that made it to the list are blogs about Kuwait whether originating from Kuwait or not or whether they are by Kuwaiti nationals or expats living in Kuwait. That's why I said KUWAITI blog.

Disclaimer Two I still believe the Alexa rank is way overrated, easily manipulated, and highly volatile. It is not a real measure of how a blog is popular but it doesn't hurt to check it every once in a while as some sort of measure. Its the only semi-reliable measure I can think of. No fighting please.

Disclaimer Three DO NOT ASK ME how to calculate the Alexa rating. For the love of god go to Alexa.com and enter your blog URL. If no local rating is there then THAT's IT!

Disclaimer Four If you know of a blog I missed or a new blog that is gliding up the top in rocket speed please let me know :)

Things 2 get 4m London: Lush's Toothy Tabs

When I went to Lush today -which is one of my favorite stores in London by the way- I found this amazing new product! Toothy Tabs tablets are a replacement for toothpaste which could come in handy especially if you are travelling or need to brush your teeth at work or in a restaurant.

Each box contains 40 tablets so depending on how many times you brush your teeth per day a box could last you for 10-20 days. Its is dentist approved, was not tested on poor helpless animals, saves the planet in terms of not using aluminum and such, and comes in 6 different flavors! This is how you use it…

Break the tablet, chew on it, then brush your teeth. Can't wait to brush my teeth tonight after dinner :D

The flavor I took is Atomic which is supposed to conquer bad breath pretty well with coffee, clover, and ginger flavors! The other ones available are Aquatic that is earl grey flavored, Sparkle that is vanilla flavored, breath of god which has sandalwood and fennel seeds, and Dirty which is spear mint flavored.

Other items I picked up today were the Sugar Lips Bubble Gum flavored scrubs (post).  The new solid perfume with Vanilla aroma.

And the new shower gel 'Its raining men' that smells like honey and exotic flowers and smells really good.

I wonder if Lush Kuwait stocks any of these new items? Specifically the toothy tabs which are a life saver for me! If you know let me know please.

Things 2 Get 4m London: Twirl Bites

Just so you know I won't be only talking about London. I have many other things to post about I swear :p

Yesterday as I was grocery shopping I found this new chocolate in Sainsbury's. Its called Twirl Bites and I immediately bought myself a bag to try.

When I opened the bag I was hit with the amazing distinguished Flake aroma

The good thing about them is that they are really tiny! You can take one piece and chew on it if you are badly craving chocolate and that tiny piece will get your chocolate cravings settled. Its amazing

Things to shop for in London

Greetings from the UK :D

The weather is amazing, sunny. raining, and windy. The sky is so clear and fluffy white clouds are floating around lazily. You walk down the Supermarket aisles and smell fresh strawberries and apricots. Amazing

Still its 7:30 PM and not yet time for futoor. Zeba7na elyoooo3! Will be having futoor in Strada insha2 Allah :D

Let me show you some traditional first day arriving in the UK activity of mine. After we get home and rest for a bit we go to Sainsbury's for groceries. The first thing I grab is all the available fashion magazines around.

I had long stopped buying fashion magazines from Kuwait. They are censored, overpriced, and they take out the little gifts that come with them. The first thing I did was take my gifts: A set of fake eyelashes, a bottle of nail polish, and a DVD for the latest catwalk fashion.

Since we are always tired on the first day I usually spend sometime relaxing and rifling through all the magazines I've got, having an idea on what trends to look out for, which stores has got the best items, and taking pictures of what I really like. I am sharing my finds with you. I like this pair of Uggs A LOT!

This skirt from Top Shop.

Prada's entire catwalk is mouthwatering. Specifically this top and skirt. Must go gaze at them.

I love both the ring and the blouse in black. Both from Top Shop! Now I have 3 items to look for in Top Shop.

This crazy Christopher Kane's Clutch! 3awar Qalb

Love the red and blue satin blouse.

Every one has been raving about buying embellished collars. I must find me the perfect collar as well.

Am I crazy or is this color of lipstick is totally delicious? Yay or Nay? Must try it and see.

Wana waini 3n hal ketab? Must buy it ASAP.

Must check out this clutch by DVF which also happens to be one of my favorite designers.

I love this All Saints Vest. It looks like something Matthew Williamson would sell! I have just the perfect trousers to go with it.

This clutch to go with it.

O chinna this heels goes with it? Again Top Shop.

I will try this Moroccan Oil Hair Products range. My sister simply swears by it!

ghd make hair products? Tawni adri! Must try too!

O not to forget my teeth, I want to buy this air flossing thing. Mo chinna el dentists use a similar one?

So far this is what I have on my list of things to look out for. I will update it later on. Now its futoor time AT LAST!

What do you do when you see a famous person?

Say you are walking down the street, or you are inside a shop, o faj2a you see a big celebrity. Local or international, you like them or you hate them, but they are standing right there in the flesh. What do you do?

Some people are brave enough to say hello, others ask for an autograph. Some hesitate and just stare. What kind of person are you?

Ana? I totally ignore them as if they don't exist. I cannot help it 3ogob at7asaf o agool chanzain I said hello b3dain when it happens again I switch into ignorance mood. I guess its better for the famous person because they are already sick from all the attention they get all the time and you never know maybe they are in a bad mood or something that day malhom kholg.

What do you do?

Memorable Su7oor at The Baking Tray

The other day we were driving around trying to decide on a place to have a quick, delicious, and not very heavy su7oor in. I don't remember who tweeted or posted about a picture of Baking Tray's Chai & 7leeb ma6arat but they kept jumping at my mind's eye so we decided to go there.

The place was packed mahsa2 Allah and it took a while for us to get a table but when we did eventually get a table we didn't leave until it was closing time. We stuffed our faces with…

Fried Mozzarella above and the cheesy garlic bread that was on every table that night. It flew in seconds!

Baked madry fried potato wedges. I love this order.

Amazing mushroom sandwich.

Roast beef sandwich.

Grilled vegetables focaccia.

There was this drink that made everybody happy. I am not a fan though.

There was a big plate of cookies that was gone before a picture was taken. But here is another one for compensation. The best cookies in Kuwait are best consumed with a cup of chai o 7leeb when they are just out of the oven

I must go back before Ramadan is over for another hearty su7oor :D Yummm….

The first picture of Dathra Book in Kinokuniya Dubai Mall…

A fellow Tweep BudoorA sent me a dedication yesterday. It was a picture of my Dathra book displayed in Kinokuniya Dubai Mall! This is the first glimpse I've had of my book in Kinokuniya! I nearly cried from happiness!

Look at my book, placed there amongst other books, like its a real book written on real paper! I still cannot wrap my head around it, I still cannot believe it, I keep gazig at it the way I amagine a mother gazing at her newborn baby sleeping. It is there, really there, in Kinokuniya! It is not a merely a dream rather its a dream come true :') Alf el7md le Allah.

If you are in Dubai or going to be and passed by Kinokuniya, please snap me more pictures! I wanna see I wanna see!!!! Please say hello to my book so it won't feel all lonely :D

Thank you BudoorA for the lovely dedication, you truly made my day, god bless you :*

Event: 9ura.com Website & Photography Competition Launch

This post is waaaaay overdue but I've been having a hard time posting on time recently. I am glad I got my posting mojo back on track though :p

We were invited to attend the official launch of the 9ura.com website and photography competition by a few days back. The event was held in FA Gallery on Gulf Road right besides A-Amiri hospital.

I have never been inside FA Gallery before so it was a good opportunity to visit and explore as well. I found some unique items that are worth another visit and I loved the cosy interiour of the place.

The event was held at a small room in the roof of the building. Which meant I had to go up three flights of narrow stairs.

So you can imagine what shape did I arrive in at the Event. Hello -breathing hard- Ana -breathing hard- from -another deep breath- Blog -breathe breathe breathe- Danderma -deep breathing again-. Khalf Allah 3lay I need to get in shape :p

We took our seats and as everyone settled in we were given a breif presentation about the website, 9ura.com, that was made to bridge the gap between the GCC culture and the rest of the world by giving them a glimpse of the world we live in via local camera lenses. There is a competition as well themed 'Environment in the GCC' with three categories entry: Urban, Culture, and Nature. The deadline for photo submission is 15 October 2011 so if you are interested -I am- there is plenty of time to grab your camera and participate. For more competition rules check out their website 9ura.com.

As the presentation conlcluded, which was short, sweet, and directly to the point by the way, we signed our name and contact details on our way out. We were also presented with a nice giveaway of homemade cookies with the website URL on them.

Very chic y7leelhom. There was also a small buffet set up. Believe it or not I did not go near the Lqaymat which now I think is a pretty stupid move since they look delicious.

Thanks Miss Tahani Al-Somali and Mr. Mohammad Al-Kouh for extending the invitation to us, qawakom Allah o keep up the good work :D
