Event: Red Bull's Art of Motion
After recieving the most innovative invitation ever (post) I was really looking forward to attending the event thinking it would be something hip and innovative as well. The event didn't disappoint!
We arrived at Laila cinema to a red carpet and media coverage. It was going to be a fun night for sure!
Inside I found my blogging friends gathered around, taking pictures, being served little food items and refreshements and of course Red Bull.
On one big wall pictures of the Parkor participants were shown with their names. Three guys from Kuwait made it into the different teams (Abdul Mohsen Al-Roumi, Yousif Al-Attar, and Mohammed Al-Attar). The different participats were chosen from all over the world, put into random teams they've never worked with before, and given 36 hours to produce their own videos which were to be shown and voted on that night in the event.
We waited until all the players had arrived in mini coopers, took pictures, the we were ushered inside the movie theater to watch the movies.
As we waited for everyone to settle in their seats more Red Bull was passed around.
The event started and the presenter who did really well by the way talked to us some more about the players and the movie. then it was time to view the movies
This is the first shot I took, then I put down my camera and lost myself in the movies.
I don't know about you but whenever i see those guys performing anywhere I just tend to sit back and gape in awe at their lithe movements and bravery! Sadly I've been waiting to find the movies they made on youtube or online but couldn't find any but they can be found moment by moment in the Red Bull website here (link).
My favorite movie was 3 made by team Qarooh but it didn't win first place 7asafa. The first place winners of the trophy and 900 Euros for each player was team Warbah.
Congratulations team Warbah! Thank you Red Bull for the invitation and the amazing time we had that day! It inspired us to be more active frankly, we even went for a long walk on our feet straight after the event :p Well done!

Habba Alert: 7ejab Bu Tarchiya!
I first noticed this 7ejab style when I was in the airport this last Eid holiday. A Kuwaiti lady with her children were rushing in to check into their flight and she had this look. Its not the turban look no. Its a cotton 7ejab wrapped exactly like every one else except that its folded at each ear in a way that the entire ear shows. Of course on each ear lobe there was a huge gleaming earring. Showing the earrings is the purpose of this look after all.
I dismissed it as one lady with that look. But then over the Eid holidays in the malls I've seen more and more women wearing that exact same 7ejab style! Cotton, covering everything except the two ears peeking from below the two folds on the side, and huge earrings to decorate the ear lobes, reminding me of the old song in fereej el3atawiya "Tarchiya weya Tarchiya 9arat Tarachee el sha3biya!!!".
The look is weird and I don't like it. I'd rather people stick with their turbans if they wish to show off their ears. O ykon a7san if they take off that little piece of cloth and toss it somewhere else. Ya tet7ajeboon 3adel ya malah da3i hal halagat.
Next thing we'll see is two horns peeking min t7t el7jab. Y3ni new look!

Do you buy from those street vendors?
All year round whenever we drive in residential areas we always see a pickup parked on the pavement selling some sort of fruit. Sometimes watermelons. Sometimes mini baby bananas, sometimes mangoes. Apparently what looks like tomatoes are being sold in Surra these days b3d.
I never wanted to buy from them but once I saw the tiny baby bananas for the first time and I squealed in delight, asking my husband to pull over so I can buy some. I got a huge lecture on a study they conducted in college regarding road pollution and how the bad substances would have already polluted any road side sold fruit and that if I wanted baby bananas he would buy some for me from a supermarket.
Do people buy from street vendors? Why? If we have Co-Ops that sell exactly what they are selling and they are not selling dragon fruit per say, kilha raggi o 6ma6, why are they bothering at all? If the food really gets polluted why are they allowed to sell on the side of the road then? Is it against the low? Shouldn't they be stopped and fined?
They Say this is Al-7aram's Floors Scent Mix
My Bu Tootee always raves about how the Holy 7aram smells. He says when you put your head on the cool marble floors you smell the most amazing scent ever. I've never been there before fa I wouldn't know but whenever he speaks fondly of the smell that makes him remember beit Allah I feel I want to smell it too.
This year when he was in 7ajj he asked one of the cleaners about the mix they use to clean and scent the 7aram floor and the cleaner showed him. He says they use the Drummer + Al-Sirti's Ward 6aifi mixed together to wipes the floors which gives them their unique scent. So when he came home we wanted to try it.
According to the cleaner, in a bucket you add 3 full cups of Drummer.
Then you add a cover full of Al-Sirti ward 6aifi. I didn't have Al-Sirti so I used al 7aramain's but I am going to go and get myself some.
Into the bucket then add water.
Voila! We tried the mix and according to Bu Tootee it is kinda similar but not the same to the scent of al7aram. Maybe we need to lessen the amount of water and increase the amount of ward? I will get the brand of ward they said they used and experiment eshwarana
If you know Al7arams floors scent mix please do share!
Funny Android Vs. Apple Car Sticker
The other day we were driving around when we saw this funny sticker on a car! We took the photo 3la 6ool with my BB's camera and laughed for a very long time.
I think it pretty much sums up the current Apple Android war :p Especially given the latest action by Steve Wozniak co-founder of Apple and the man who actually built the Apple 1 & 2 and is now happily siding with Android. Sorry Apple fans, its Android's era now :p

Picture of the Week: Under the Sea
Last weekend we spent some quality time at the beach in the most amazing weather ever! I kept humming the song "Under the Sea" from the little mermaid movie which is one of my favorites. If I only knew how to swim, I would take diving lessons, take my camera with a waterproof casing, and shoot the beauty underneath the sea that must be mesmirizing.
For now however I would stick to open oyster shells discarded on the beach :p Shraykom feeha y7leelha proudly perched on top of the rock?
Innovative Event Invitation for Red Bull's Art of Motion Event
Thursday night I had just woken up from a very lovely nap when the door bell rang with something for me. I was asked to come down personally and collect it which has never happened before so I descend down and to my surprise I see the following Red Bull car.
What a nice way to deliver an event invitation. What's even more intriguing is the invitation it self! I was handed what seemed to be "Motion Sickness Pills" which got me to think "Huh? 3lamhom?" at first.
I then realize that the pills are the invitations!
What would have been the medicine's instruction is actually the event's invitation and briefing.
So what's inside the pills box?
A7la shay? The bottom of the pill box!!!
Production and expiration dates!!! The attention to details made this invitation one of the quirkiest funniest most thought after invitations I've ever gotten! Well done Red Bull! If your invitation was this good, your event was sure to be something!
Was it? Well, the event post is coming soon so stay tuned
Hot Chocolate Dippers at Milk Cafe
We went a few days back to Milk Cafe after we heard so many positive reviews about it. It looked like a good spot to have breakfast -the name is Milk after all-. When I read my fellow bloggers review I've seen lots of glass and lots of good photos potential so I took my camera with me.
When I took out my camera and shot my first photo I was surprised with the message "No Card"! I forgot both my memory card and my emergency memory card at home! So I was stuck with the mobile camera phone which is again a big proof that I cannot take good pictures. The camera is good and not me.
For my breakfast I ordered Blueberry Pancakes.
They were fluffy and very tasty and came with a side of maple syrup and blueberry syrup. I enjoyed them ALOT. Butootee ordered an egg dish, was it the Denver? I am not really sure of its name though.
He enjoyed it especially the giant mushroom. But what we both enjoyed to the max was the hot chocolate! They bring you a huge cup of super frothy milk and a cube of chocolate of your choice on a stick.
Horrible quality pictures I know, but you get the idea. Anyways you take the chocolate dipper of your choice and dip it slowly into the frothy milk.
As you push the chocolate dipper in you feel it beginning to melt and mix with the frothy milk…
Looked what happened to the chocolate dipper… god I wish my camera could shoot that day!
We enjoyed playing with the dippers so much! They are also sold by piece and wrapped up! It would make an amazing party giveaway or as a gift for chocolate lovers especially in this weather. Well done! If only they made diet friendly Fat Free Sugar Free ones I'd be having one right now.
Our total came to 6.700 KD which is very reasonable considering other breakfast places to be frank. My Butootee praised the pricing -he handles the family finances :p-
To make things better… they have GLUTEN FREE CHOCOLATE CAKE! and if you are gluten intolerant you can take your own bread with you and they will make any of their sandwiches for you with your bread! How awesome is that?
Sorry Milk for the bad quality pictures. Frankly you deserve a MUCH BETTER review. My bad! I will go back insha2 Allah with my camera
Milk Cafe is located in Al-Seif area right next to Burger Hub, Slider Station, Prime & Toast, and Pizzetta.

Winter in Q8 Means: Kites in the Kuwaiti Sky
We were passing by the Messilah area yesterday on F7ai7eel highway when we saw a lot of beautiful kites being flown around. Whenever winter is black in Kuwait we see beautiful kites flown around on the weekend especially if its windy. They always make me content with happiness.
Notice the round grounded kites? I've never seen those before! Are they new? They do look good.
I wish I knew how to fly a kite. I wonder where can I go get myself one and where can I learn to fly it? I remember having a yellow kite when we were children but I could never get it to lift off the ground. Do you know how to fly a kite? Ever done it in Kuwait?
