The Chocolate Bar's Kharoof el Eid Cake
Yesterday was a gloomy day. I was blue and sniffing and sad when I was asked if I had ordered a cake? I hadn't and the driver had already dropped the cake off and left so I went to see the cake. It was one big huge box!
I saw a card on top of the box and it had a greeting card and The Chocolate Bar Logo.
Inside the card was just a greeting and the signature @TheChocoBar
I remembered that yesterday Butootee had gotten a call from a delivery guy asking him about his address because he had a greeting to send him. Given that Chocolate Bar had sent him a huge box of chocolate and flowers as a Ramadan greeting in 2006 I figured this was for Butootee. What's inside?
Y7leelah! Whose the little fella? Kharoof cake! Little Kharoof! How cute?! The attention to detail was amazing! I took like a thousand pictures of the innocent little fella! Check him out!
What does the cake look like from the inside?
Chocolate and vanilla frosting! Perfect! I adore chocolate cakes! I just felt a pang in my heart thinking that this cake was meant for Butootee and he wasn't there to see it. I couldn't take one bite of it but they say its very good.
Only later on did I realize that other bloggers had gotten the same cake and it was in fact meant for me and not Butootee? Hmmm so it was my cake not his :p
The good thing about the cake is that its not huge. It is a perfect size for a family gathering or chalet gathering or a homey birthday. I like it a LOT! The little kharoof was so cute so very very cute I felt sad cutting him up maskeen.
Thank you Chocolate Bar for your Eid Greeting and for putting a much needed smile on my face. 3eedkom Embarak too o ma ga9artaw
Good Saturday Morning…
Good Saturday morning, or well, afternoon but its a Saturday in a long weekend and i guess many have decided to sleep in and just woke up like me.
What are you having for breakfast? I am craving a continental one: Croissants, soft bread, butter, and jam with a cup of strong good coffee. This is a breakfast I had in the avenues 2 weeks ago but they close at 12 and I guess I am too late for breakfast now
If you are abroad o staying in a hotel you might get to have a continental breakfast after all! Enjoy your Saturday I am still trying to figure out what to do today?

Seeing Butootee off to 7ajj…
A while ago I dropped my Butootee to the airport and watched him pass the gates on his way to 7ajj, leaving me alone with the feeling of someone squeezing my heart until I could no longer breathe.
For a moment there I thought about running after him, clinging to his dishdasha and asking to go with him. Wherever he goes, I go. A blink too late as he disappeared behind the security guards on his way to a spiritual journey he has been aching for since forever.
How I got the courage to pull my feet away and return to my car is beyond me. I felt like crumbling on the airport floor and staying there until next Friday when he comes back. Everywhere I look people are happy, smiling, together, flying away to enjoy the vacation I now regard as a long lonely sentence. Eyes clouding with tears I drove home through the never ending traffic to a cold silent apartment.
Allah ya7fothah o yrj3ah bel salama. May god help my poor lonely heart, I already feel lost and dazed without him
No more posts for the day by the way.

Shino '3adakom Elyoom?
Its getting cold, its almost noon, and I am hungry. All I can think of is lunch! Thursday is here and the long weekend is about to start! What are you planning for lunch? On the plane? in the Airport? Eating in the office? Bel zwara? At home? Skipping lunch? Already in a cafe abroad
So let me ask you the eternal daily q8y question: 'Shino '3adakom?' I am craving Spaghetti! Long slippery strands of spaghetti bathing in rich tangy tomato sauce and sprinkled with cheese
Shino '3adakom?

What Can You Buy with a 5 Fils Coin?
We were talking about currencies and how they break into coins when the subject arose regarding the purchasing power of our local Kuwaiti coin. We racked our brains and realized the cheapest thing we can come up with is a loaf of Iranian bread for 20 fils! So the 20 fils can purchase something, the 1 fils is rarely seen anymore. What about the 5 fils coin?
Do you have any idea on things we can purchase with a 5 fils coin? That we can actually pay for them with the 5 fils?
DKNY's Fashion Night
DKNY and Al-Yasra fashion held an exclusive night of fashion event for bloggers last night in their Avenues branch. To be frank I am not a big fan of DKNY but I wanted to go and see what they had in store.
At the front of the store I saw this mannequin and I thought that dress was really really nice!
and nice it was indeed! If I had been thinner I would have tried it on. Moving on I was greeted by Al-Yasra PR team and as we were being greeted my eyes fell on the three mannequins standing proudly in the middle of the store.
Specifically the middle mannequin.
I love this look! Its totally me! The colors, the casualness, the jeans, the jacket, my oh my the jacket! Its beautiful! I could wear it every single day! I love it! O the boots! I am a sucker for jackets and boots! I was wearing a similar boot that night and I realized I don't have boots in that color!
The rest of the outfit… not a big fan of tiger prints though.
When I finally was done photographing the outfit I was told that those mannequins were dressed by our fellow blogger Confashions! Now that makes those outfits even more special! I love dear Confashions taste and I thought having a fellow blogger dress up the mannequins for the fashion night was a brilliant idea! Check out her chosen outfits.
The cape, which I believe is fashion's answer to the Kuwaiti winter when its cold but not that cold. Don't attempt to wear it in Europe's freezing weather though like yours truly who stupidly did last winter. Check out the tiny tiger bag y7leelha!
There is the striped short dress look with a jacket. A look I also like for formal outings.
I love the contrasting patterns and the simplicity of the colors. I never thought of adding a layer to an outfit by using a scarf and a belt before. Nice!
I loved the shoes that went with the outfit too! Too bad they were peep hole shoes which I dislike wearing or else I would have snatched them!
The last two looks were more wintery. I don't know why but I didn't think they were something I would personally wear, maybe its the fur thing?
I loved the shoes that came with the tiger fur though
Spectacular job Confashions! You should do more and more mannequins around the shops in Kuwait! Brava!
While we were taking pictures we were presented with munchies from Napket
Ya7leelhom el bite sized burgers! Interesting looking drinks too!
I took a tour around the store snapping pictures of my favorite outfits. This nice one for example would be very suitable for me as a 7ejab wearing woman if worn over a pair of trousers or jeans.
I loved this knit jacket and scarf for Butootee if worn with a gray tshirt and a pair of washed out blue jeans! Might go back to buy it for him as a gift
One of my sisters would love this white blouse for sure.
I saw a pajama section too…
Ipad covers in interesting colors.
I loved this dress and scarf too.
Have I said before that I have a soft spot for jackets? Especially denim and leather ones? Well this soft black leather jacket really got my heart beating. I loved it immensely and wanted to buy it but I have an overload of unworn leather jackets in the cupboard waiting to be worn.
We were then given a little speech by Al-Yasra PR group followed by a series of questions for the attendees. The one who has the most correct answer would win a gift and while the questions were asked we were presented with… Napket's Frozen Yogurt!
All the attendees received DKNY goody bags that night.
But I left with both a goody bag and a gift box! Guess who won the competition? Me me me! Pink Girl won as well :p
I also left with the green and beige jacket I loved from the first mannequin, I just couldn't leave without it! Luckily I found one that would fit me, can't wait to wear it although I would have to alter the look a bit to make it more 7ejab friendly
I am also going back for the boots! Stupid me didn't buy them yesterday! Stupid stupid me!!! I have just the perfect same color clutch with studded with little golden skulls that would complete the look!
What was in the DKNY goody bag? Now it was quite a surprise actually. You would think they would add a scarf or something but instead we got this…
Clippers Organic Peppermint tea and Green & Blacks Organic milk chocolate with almonds! Two favorites of mine to be frank! Plus a DKNY notebook. I think its a great gift. Instead of giving away a fashion piece that people may or may not like why not give away items that most people would like? Who doesn't like chocolate? Frankly I was happy. My only take was that, well, Donna Karen is American and they are giving away British organic products :p
We had a great time yesterday.Thank you Al-Yasra for your kind invitation:D
If you are still shopping for Eid outfits you may want to pass by DKNY store in the Avenues. Some pieces are really worth snatching up. Just don't buy my boots before I do!

Sellotaped Coins in a Tip Cup
A few nights ago as I was buying some frozen yogurt from Zero Degrees I was about to deposit some money in the tips cup when I saw rolls of coins wrapped together in groups with sellotape and dropped in the cup!
I was surprised, just the other day we were talking about this method in joining the coins together. What a coincidence! But its a great idea also in terms of giving away the kharda! At least you would know how much you are giving away.
By the way, the Blackberry 9900 has no Auto Focus feature in its camera. The camera simply SUCKS! Grrrrr
Meeting a Sumo Wrestler at BEST's Grand Opening
A few days ago we were invited to the grand opening of BEST Al-Yousifi's newest and biggest branch in Al-Rain. 6000 square meters of electronics! Since BEST is all about Japanese technology they decided to invite a Japanese Sumo Wrestler, Yamamotoyama, to come to the opening and challenge the crowds
Madame Danderma, fashionably late as usual, arrived to the back entrance of BEST Al-rai to find a big hoopla: A pink tent, a red carpet, photographers and name tags.
Of course since we were late the bloggers had already challenged Yama and he was resting maskeen. Butootee only managed to take a picture with him. The man is HUGE masha2 Allah, weighs around 260 KG!
Even though I was late for the Sumo wrestling I was just on time for the BEST store tour! I stood for a long time in the Canon lenses and photography section. I liked this offer ALOT! A camera and a photo printer for 75 KD only, ya balash!
I stood even longer in front of the biggest screen in Kuwait. It is AMAZING!
I so wanted one! Guess how much it costs though?
183 thousands KD only. The good news is that the chairs and the surround system are included in the price :p
Faya9el is also available in the 2nd floor! Its perfect for purchasing a gift for newly weds or a new house.
I wonder what this sign says?
In the end after a fun filled day we were given goody bags from BESt Al-Yousifi with a nice gift inside. Guess who was portrayed on the bag?
We had a great time and a really unique experience indeed! Thank you Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Yousifi, Miss Amtar Suhail, Mr. Omar Massouh for your invitation. Wishing you the best of luck
Movie Review: In Time
In the future people stop aging at 25. Yet they are allowed to live via a timer on their hands until they are 26, unless they work hard for extra seconds to add to their timers. Every thing is paid for by minutes, hours, days, months, or years.
Did I like the movie? Well I liked the first 15 minutes of it, the idea of the movie, the timer, that Time is money. Then as the seconds on the actor's timers began to click off I became anxious, I hated the fear and the deadline and the scrambling for mere minutes and hours to live with. Too depressing.
Also, the actress's hair cut hurt my eye. For the love of god she is on the run and her hair is like a helmet, not one hair out of place and just too attached to her face. She has no where to sleep yet her eyes are always kohl rimmed and her hair is always shiny and straightened and stuck to her head. Ma dahan? Ma entekash? Ma 9arat!
I guess its the kind of movie you either like or hate. Also it was pretty tall to the point of being boring. I didn't like it, it got to my nerves. Not something I would care to watch again. My husband didn't like it either.
