In Case You Didn't Know What Danderma Means
Danderma actually has a meaning. It is not a nickname for Dana, it is not a nice sounding word only, it is not a just a name. It is the old Kuwaiti word for ice cream. It was the first thing Iooked for when I bought the Kuwaiti Dialect Encyclopedia and sure enough there it was
If you didn't know what Danderma meant until this post, what did you think it meant? I'm curious…

Good Saturday Morning…
Good Saturday morning
The weather keeps getting better and better! Wow! Its simply a waste to stay cooped up inside especially given that its the last day of the weekend and we will be stuck at work or school tomorrow!
What are you having for breakfast today? I am craving a tall stack of fluffy pancakes drowned in chocolate with a big fat cup of coffee, mmmm
"Danderma" by Lamy's Perfumes
I went to 52 Degrees last week to check out Danderma by Lamy's Perfume and purchase myself several bottles as gifts Its not every day you go to a shop and find something named after you so I went with my camera to document this moment in my life
As I approached Lamy's perfumes corner I spotted my little perfume immediately! A small elegant 50ml bottle with my name on it. Its box is light green
I tried it, hints of Gardenia, Rose, Patchouli, and Orange Blossom gives the floral mix an oriental touch. Pretty nice indeed! Price Tag?
Danderma's perfume is more expensive than Pink Girl's perfume since the oils I've chosen were expensive :p Pink Girl's perfume was really nice and fruity too! I liked it a lot
Thank you so much Lamy's Perfume You helped make the name Danderma into a brand name with its own perfume :p Wish you the best of luck.

Blast from the Past: Art Attack
When my baby sister who was little in the 90′s she was fascinated by a British art show called "Art Attack" presented by Neil Buchanan. She talked about it endlessly and when it came on TV, Disney Channel if I am not mistaken, she would watch it mesmerized by Neil's creations. I have to admit that I liked watching it too and was especially fascinated by the Big Art he made when he would use towels for instance to make a big painting by twisting them around.
I wonder if we ever attempted to recreate something he made? I have a vague memory of using some empty kleenex boxes but I am not sure…
I wish we had such great innovative shows. Maybe that's what we are missing in our local TV's especially given that we have many new emerging talents now a days!
Do you remember Art Attack? And its special opening tune? Were you a fan or attempted one of his creations?

The Blogger's Bowling Night…
We received an invitation for a Bloggers Bowling night from Tamdeen Entertainment to be held on Wednesday night in 360′s VIP bowling room.
We arrived there at 7 PM on the dot to find a sign outside asking the bloggers to sign in.
We were led to the VIP room which was beautifully decorated with balloons, a DJ was playing away and we were welcomed in warmly.
We were given a sheet of paper to sign our names in and write down our shoe sizes so they would bring the bowling shoes to us to change into them.
I went into the VIP room for the first time and I liked the design very much.
It was time to change our shoes and get prepared for the tournament.
We were assigned into teams. I was in team number 1, or was it 4? Anyways it was at the first lane :p O awal ism b3d!
and just as we began playing we were bombarded by endless dishes of food and munchies! The smell was simply mouthwatering!
What did I eat? A big fat cup of american coffee being the coffee holic that I am
Then it was time to bowl, miss, hit, strike, laugh, eat, drink, and have a great time!
2 hours of sheer fun later and these are the results:
His won the first prize for being the best bowling player with the highest point, the 2nd winner was Moody, and the third was Moody's friend Lara. The rest of us got to go home with coupons and a rechargeable golden card for the Bowling Rooms.
We truly had a unique and a very enjoyable night bowling in the VIP room. I don't know why I've never booked it before! Thanks to Tamdeen Entertainment, Rasha Al-Muhtaseb, and Fatima Al-Fadhala for their invitation and kind welcome.

L'Occitane Candy Cooking Contest and new X-Mas line
L'occitane had a great marketing idea for launching their new X-Mas 20ll limited edition line. Provence". Since the new line's scents are inspired from the delicious old sweets they decided to launch the line with a Candy Cooking Contest!
The event was held in Terrace Grill restaurant in JW Marriot hotel which was reserved entirely for the event.
The place was nicely decorated with, what else, candy of course!
After a quick presentation introducing the new X-Mas 2011 line, we were invited into the kitchen where the candy making would start.

Those who wanted to participate had to put on aprons and chef's hats. We were also handed out printed papers with recipes for Marshmallows, Macaroons, Jujubes Candies, and Glazed Strawberries.

Then the chef's began demonstrating the candy making for the contestants.

The smell was out of this world I tell you. Bubbling sugar, readily prepared dessert thingies.

I'm guessing these are the macaroons.

Look at the marshmallows! I am not a fan of marshmallows but how can you resist them when they look that way? Like goblets of sugary bliss?

The contestants began to cook their own candy by then since the chef's made it look so easy.

By then Bu Tootee was salivating and I wasn't going to risk the temptation to ruin his diet so we had to flee before the candy was ready to be consumed. Not before we were given a L'Occitane goodie bag though.

If we cannot eat candy, then the least we can do is indulge as much as we can in its scent! Inside the goodie bag there were a selection of items from the new L'Occitane X-Mas line.

The first scent "Fig Tree Leaf" scented candle.

Then two shower jellies scented as "Citron & Clementine" and "Rose & Violet". Both had an amazing scent and a luscious texture! My favorite is the Rose one, so yummy!

and last but not least a home perfume diffuser set, the kind that I adore with the little sticks, with the Fig scent.

What a lovely goody bag. We truly had a great time with a unique experience! Thank you L'Occitane and Ms. Shayma Bakhesh for your kind invitation
