Practical ways to overcome fear in your business
Practical ways to overcome fear in your business
// <![CDATA[
// ]]>
I have been scared about so many things in my life - especially when I’ve tried something new.
Fear in business is a common experience, even for seasoned entrepreneurs and the first step is to acknowledge this.
In this week’s podcast episode, I open up about my own struggles with fear and share insights on how to navigate these challenging emotions.
As someone who's been in business for years, I still encounter fear regularly.
Whether it's public speaking, launching new projects, or facing economic uncertainties, fear is a constant companion.
But here's the thing: absence of fear isn't the goal. Instead, it's about acknowledging our fears and finding ways to move forward despite them.
Throughout the episode, I share several actionable tips to help you manage fear:
Reach out to friends or business besties for support
Engage in energy-shifting activities like decluttering
Practice Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
Reconnect with your purpose and "why"
Implement self-care routines that boost your confidence
Remember, what scares you today might not scare you tomorrow. Repetition and experience often diminish our fears over time.
One of the most powerful realizations I've had is that it's okay to be human. We don't need to be perfect or fearless. By acknowledging our fears and treating ourselves with gentleness, we can create space for growth and success.
I invite you to share your own fears and how you’ve handled them - hit reply or comment on my social posts.
Join me in this honest conversation about fear in business. Together, we'll learn to navigate our fears and use them as stepping stones to success.

Life and Biz update - Honoring the season you’re in
Life and Biz update - Honouring the season you're in
// <![CDATA[
// ]]>
Over the past decade, my business has experienced tremendous growth and transformation.
As a Virgo, I approach our work with intention, carefully considering how and why we do things. I’m proactive in making changes to align the business with the current season of my life.
Sometimes these adjustments arise from practical needs—like having kids, traveling, or team dynamics. Other times, they stem from recognizing boundaries, managing burnout, or focusing on how I want to spend my time.
My friend, Natatlie MacNeil, taught me that it’s okay to give yourself permission to be in different phases or seasons of life and business.
You don’t have to achieve everything at once or write every book of your career right now.
Currently, I’m in a reflective phase as my young kids grow and require more of my attention.
To support both my and Mark’s mental health, we’ve taken a partial sabbatical while we build our new home and prioritize our family and personal interests.
Of course, we still work, particularly in the Money Bootcamp community by welcoming new members and hosting our monthly coaching calls, but we’ve intentionally slowed our pace. We’re focusing on simplifying our lives instead of chasing a massive financial goal.
This journey has been enlightening. In this week’s podcast, I share a life and business update covering:
How reconnecting with my passions has rekindled my love for business
How to streamline your offerings to reduce stress and increase quality
Lessons in the liberating power of learning to say no
Tips on prioritizing well-being and self-care
This month’s special offer to join us in Money Bootcamp
I’d love to hear your thoughts. What areas of your business or life could benefit from simplification? Which passions have you been putting on the back burner? What season are you currently in?
Remember, wherever you are on your journey, it’s perfectly okay. You are exactly where you need to be.

Denise on the Redesigning Life Podcast
I sat down with the amazing Sabrina Soto on the Redesigning Life Podcast.
Money conversations remain taboo for many—especially women—yet addressing our complex relationship with wealth is essential for creating the life we desire. During this episode, I share how our unconscious language patterns and beliefs about money (like casually telling my daughter "money is dirty") create subtle but powerful barriers to our success.
I debunk the myth of setting a "critic-proof price" that everyone will find reasonable, encouraging us instead to establish energetically aligned pricing that creates a fair exchange.
What sets this conversation apart are the practical, actionable techniques anyone can implement. From creating "sensory anchors" throughout your environment (like scented candles, meaningful jewelry, and strategic screen savers) to personalizing manifestation based on your dominant senses, I provide a toolkit for embedding your goals into everyday life without requiring perfect consistency.
Whether you're an entrepreneur setting prices, a corporate employee seeking a raise, or simply someone wanting a healthier relationship with money, this episode delivers profound insights with immediately applicable techniques.

Ignite Your Money Mindset: How Intentional Goal-Setting Sparks Prosperity
Ever feel like you're drifting through life without a clear direction? I've been there, and let me tell you, it's not a great feeling. That's why I'm so excited to chat about the power of setting goals and how it can transform your money mindset.
Now, I know what you're thinking. "Denise, it's not the start of the year anymore. Isn't it too late for goal setting?" Absolutely not! There's no time like the present to start dreaming big and setting intentions for your future. In fact, I've found that setting goals throughout the year keeps me motivated and focused on what really matters.
Why Goal Setting Matters for Your Money Mindset
Setting goals isn't just about writing down a list of things you want to achieve. It's about creating a roadmap for your future and aligning your actions with your desires. When it comes to your money mindset, goal setting can be a game-changer. Here's why:
It gives you clarity: By setting specific goals, you're forced to think about what you really want in life and in your business.
It boosts motivation: Having clear goals gives you something to work towards, keeping you motivated even when things get tough.
It helps you measure progress: Goals provide benchmarks against which you can measure your success and growth.
The Wheel of Life: A Holistic Approach to Goal Setting
One of my favorite goal-setting tools is the Wheel of Life. It's a simple yet powerful way to assess different areas of your life and set balanced goals. Here are the eight segments I like to focus on:
Money and prosperity
Love life and relationships
Friends and family
Health and vitality
Fun and enjoyment
Business and career
Personal growth
Making a difference
By looking at each of these areas, you can identify where you're thriving and where you might need to focus more attention. This holistic approach ensures you're not neglecting important aspects of your life while pursuing your money goals.
The Be-Do-Have Method: Dreaming Without Limits
Another goal-setting technique I love is the Be-Do-Have method. It's all about letting your imagination run wild and dreaming without limits. Here's how it works:
Be
What do you want to be this year? Maybe you want to be an author, a sought-after speaker, or a more present parent. Write it all down!
Do
What do you want to do this year? This could include attending a conference, launching a new product, or taking a dream vacation.
Have
What do you want to have this year? This might include material possessions, experiences, or even intangible things like more free time or peace of mind.
The beauty of this method is that it allows you to dream big without worrying about the "how" just yet. Remember, the dreaming part is free!
Making Your Goals Real: Engaging Your Senses
Once you've set your goals, the next step is to make them feel real. This is where engaging your senses comes in. Here are some ways to do this:
Smell: Choose a scent that represents your goal. For example, when I was manifesting my beach house, I used a beach-scented candle.
Sound: Create a playlist that embodies the energy of your goals, or listen to podcasts related to what you want to achieve.
Sight: Create a vision board or set your phone background to an image that represents your goal.
Touch: Find an object that symbolizes your goal and keep it with you as a reminder.
Overcoming Goal-Setting Resistance
If you find yourself resisting goal setting, you're not alone. Many people avoid it because they don't know how they'll achieve their goals. But here's the thing: you don't need to know the "how" right away. Your job is to dream and set the intention. The universe has a funny way of meeting you halfway when you dare to dream big.
So, I want you to put your hand on your heart right now and say, "It's safe for me to dream. It's safe for me to have goals. It's safe for me to ask for what I want." Give yourself permission to dream without limits.
Remember, setting goals is not about perfection. It's about progress and giving yourself a direction to move towards. So, whether it's the start of a new year, a new month, or just a random Tuesday, take some time to set those goals and watch how it transforms your money mindset.
I'd love to hear about your goals! Drop me a comment or send me a DM to share what you're dreaming up. Let's make this your best year yet!
