To Gail - I don’t consider anything “wrong” about Alysia, I love her and she is fine representation. I think you handled her very well, but I do agree that the art from the current version of the series portrays her with a downright near-impossible figure. A lot of transwomen “pass” flawlessly as ciswomen and I thought Alysia looked fine in your run, but yeah we do sadly mostly lack real pronounced curves. Fat redistribution can only do so much. Her coming out felt realistic because she had come to trust Barbara, who herself had just shared intimate details about her own life. It can be a big relief to tell friends.

Pretty good post though.

Yeah, I’m not taking offense at all, I’m taking notes on how to try to do better.

But I agree it’s never going to be right without trans creators.

A masterful Op-Art cover to SECRET SIX by Dale Eaglesham that recalls the work of Jim Steranko in using Op-Art images in his illustrations. What Eaglesham does here is more straightforward than the typical Steranko piece, but it possesses the same sort of impact. Keeping the background white and the spears black makes Cat-Man in the center pop as a focal point, the arrangement of the spears making a nice impact burst around him. The cover copy is slightly hard to read, but given that it’s a question about a secret, that almost adds to the effect.

This cover is amazing, Dale has been destroying.

Wait until you see the cover for issue six. One of the best single covers I have ever SEEN let alone had on one of my books.

I was introduced to this site this morning by the great director Lexi Alexander, who did the ONLY film version of the Punisher that actually worked for me.

We had a little discussion about female directors in Hollywood. Apparently, it’s getting worse, not better. And this site chronicles the bullshit these women get thrown at them routinely.
