Shanghai Comic Convention!
I am very thrilled and excited to announce that I will be a guest of honor at the SHANGHAI COMIC CONVENTION in Shanghai, China, on May 16-17.
I have never been to that part of China, and I am hugely excited!
Come say hello and have dumplings with me!

Ack!
One of my favorite artists, Todd Nauck, drawing one of my favorite creations, VENGEANCE MOTH!
I guess Todd does a thing where people suggest a character for him to draw on a post-it note (I hope I’m getting this right) and one of my favorite people, Ian, suggested VM and here it is. WOW! I would kill for one of these!
LOVE Todd’s happy, optimistic art.
It’s amazing, but of all the MOVEMENT characters, Vengeance Moth is BY FAR the one people keep writing about and drawing and cosplaying. I would have thought it would be Burden or Virtue or Mouse, but nope, it’s clearly VM who has the most staying power.
Gotta get her in the Secret Six book somehow!

Thanks Adm… As we round closer the Arthur Lieberman’s passing , former president of Red Sonja llc, Conan and Red Sonja rights holder, attorney/partner of Stan Lee… We want to say… Today is for you Arthur!! And as Stan would say “release the junkyard dog!!!!” #redsonja #stanlee #arthurlieberman #lukelieberman
Respect and best wishes to the Red Sonja family.
Do you have any idea of the status of Starling. Ev was one of the breakout characters of the New 52 and I was so sad when they chose to change the direction of the Birds book. It never survived it. Do you think her villainy with Mr Freeze makes her a good
I have talked about this a lot…but Starling is probably my favorite new new52 character. She was in the running for Secret Six until very late in the decision making process, but it was felt that Black Alice had more fans, and so she ended up in the book instead of Starling. Sorry!
I do love her, though…I would love to see her show up in the book.
Hello! Will you be coming to the London Comic Con? I really hope so, I'd really love to meet you!
Sadly, I will not.
I was invited, I think, I got a blank invitation to as many UK cons as I wanted to go to from several orgnaizers, which is incredibly sweet and lovely. Unfortunately, I spent a LOT of time in the UK and environs in the last two years and kind of need to visit some other places before returning, I feel.
Sorry, we love London!
I'm reading Red Sonja for the first time, and I was wondering, what sort of accent do you Sonja has? English, Scottish, American, or a kind of Eastern European, like Polish?
It’s complicated for me. I write her dialog without accent at all because whatever language she is speaking, she speaks it fluently, like a native. So for English readers, she is speaking English without an accent, and it would be the same for Spanish readers in Mexico, or Japanese readers in Japan, whatever. So when writing her dialog, I don’t hear an accent at all because I am in HER world, not transporting her into mine.
When I think of her interacting with a person speaking English, I imagine her with an Eastern European accent. But she’s definitely a polyglot and languages come naturally to her.

G. Willow Wilson on censorship and “censorship”
I love that woman.
It’s not a hard and fast thing, not all editors and covers are the same. But it’s happened to me, as well. ALSO, it’s not just guy editors who are skittish about this, I’ve had it with some female editors as well.
It’s complex stuff, not easily broken down into soundbites. But it’s real, it happens.

Are you in contact with Rachel Pollack at all? I'm a fan of her work on Doom Patrol in the 90s and how she brought in trans issues as well as deeply feminist themes (granted, this was in Vertigo, but she still did it) and always hope she has had at least
I am not in contact with Rachel except that I was asked to do a blurb for her recent book at Dark Horse, which I thought was fantastic.
I am a big fan!
