Yep, It's Monday....Again!

Time for hard helmets and back to work!
And no...I didn't make my word count. *sigh*
And I'm not going to get anything done this morning, I don't think. I'll try! It's a Monday!
Hope you all have a lovely Monday, despite itself!!!
Oh, wait, this just in from Rom Fan Reviews! 5 Hunks! Okay, made my Monday! "The newest installment in Terry Spear's Wolf Series A Seal in Wolf's Clothing lives up to all its predecessors. Meara makes Finn's life a constant rollercoaster ride but it is one that he is willing to ride as long as she becomes his in the end. Of, course if asking Finn he would deny it all completely, she is his fellow seal and friend's sister after all. I never get tired of Ms. Spear's books and her wolves, she manages to keep you intrigued with each story she writes. She is a rarity in her field she always keeps her readers coming back for more. For anyone new to her books one thing you will learn rather quickly is that each of her books are stand-alone even though they are revolve around wolves they are typically about a different clan so there is no need to read them in order." Annette gives this book

Have a great day!

Look Who's Coming to Dinner!

Well, it's not a jaguar shifter, but another big cat!
What would you think if he came to your door???
If he was a shifter?
Let him in?
Have a super great April Fool's Day!!! And it's no fooling, I finished the edits for A Howl for the Highlander! But of course, I'm not done. Now it's off to get word count for A Highland Wolf Wedding, and a pitch for A Christmas Highland Wolf story...And that's not an April Fool's either.
My daughter forgot to bring my camera home also. *sigh*

Romance in April!

So the blog tour is over, but it's not all over.
I'll be at:
Australian Romance Readers, April 13
Romance Author Hotspot, April 13
Stories of Romance, April 14
Savvy Authors, April 15
All the blogs are done, finally, and I'm off to create a pitch for a Highland Wolf Christmas (not the title, but I need a working one), and edits on A Howl for the Highlander, plus must get the newsletter off for everyone who wants to know what's next in Deadly Fortunes.
My daughter and son-in-law are visiting, both still sleeping, so got to get as much done before they wake up!
Have a terrific Saturday!!!
Oh, and any suggestions for a Highland Wolf Christmas title?

:)

Long and Short Reviews--Giveaway!
More Giveaways this time at: Long and Short Reviews where I'm talking about hiking in the woods and running across a wolf--what would you do?
http://lasrguest.blogspot.com/2012/03/guest-blog-terry-spear.html
And, I have the confirmed date for A Howl for the Highlander, February! I know, it's a ways off, but I'm to propose a Highland Christmas wolf story for fall of next year, so that means ANOTHER wolf book, and that's good, isn't it??? :) Okay, so make that GREAT!!!!
Playing around with the trilogy of The Magic of Inherian series as I found a cover for the 3rd book. It's not written, only started, and I have several to write for Sourcebooks, so this is on a back burner, but still I wanted to share the new cover. It's gorgeous!
The Magic of Inherian series started with three girls who have special gifts and the journey they must go on to solve their quests. Book 1 is The Scepter of Salvation.
B&NAmazon
Princess Talamaya turned 18 in the human kingdom of Damar, just like her twin brother. Only when she comes of age, she must wed the king's choice. When her brother comes of age, he's allowed to sit on the council. But everything changes when a wizard pits beast and man against each other in Inherian--all because of the loss of the Scepter of Salvation and she must return it to their kingdom.
But the barbarian king is also after the scepter, and the black-hearted wizard who is trying to gain control will do anything to keep them from retrieving it.
She must free a knight from his madness.
Help a female dwarf escape from the dwarven mines.
Aid an Amazon fighting the Dark Elves.
Rescue even the barbarian king.
Save a crusty old dwarf from the wolves of Elan Pass.
And outwit the dark wizard once more.
Above all else, she must always take the path of righteousness.
Which is much easier said than done.
To continue the Magic of Inherian series, I wrote book 2, The Mage of Monrovia.

B&NAmazon
An apprentice of the mage they had destroyed earlier, now threatens Inherian once again. But when Mexia arrives at Langdon to become school trained, she learns the school will not permit a woman to attend. But she must destroy the mage's apprentice, and she cannot do so without the training. She must use the magic she has learned to discover a way to defeat the apprentice before it is too late.
Mexia believes the only way for her to defeat the mage is to become school trained like he was with the eventual goal of becoming a high wizard--the first of her kind in Inherian. But the current headmaster denies her entrance because she's a woman. Though if she can get the former headmaster's recommendation, she may attend.
And that's the beginning of the trouble.
First, there's the wizard.
Then, the immovable headmaster.
And then, the circle of misfortunes.
It all goes downhill from there...
************
And now for the Magic of Inherian, book 3, the Emerald Isle of Mists.
This is Lady Kersta's story. It's not finished, but when I discovered Fantasia Frog Designs cover, I had to have it. It's just gorgeous and perfect for the story. AND this is the first book cover with USA Today bestseller on it! Woohoo!!! Doesn't it look GREAT???
But I still need to finish writing A Highland Wolf Wedding, and Jaguar 2, before I'm allowed to work on anything else. :) So this is a teaser. *sigh*

Well, I've got to work on some edits on A Howl for the Highlander as soon as I get the editorial notes! But still working on my word count goal for the week on A Highland Wolf Wedding!
Okay, off to work the long night.
Hope you have a great Thursday! I'm off all weekend, so...it's getting closer! :)

Wolves and Jaguars...or Dogs and Cats...Kitten?

I'm here today with a giveaway! Review - http://booklovinmamas.blogspot.com/2012/03/review-seal-in-wolfs-clothing-by-terry.html
Giveaway - http://booklovinmamas.blogspot.com/2012/03/author-takeover-giveaway-alert-seal-in.html
A lovely review from Book Lovin Mamas and see what she has to say about the yummy SEALs!
"What a Strong, Protective Alpha Male! He has become another FAVE of the Heart of the Wolf Series...and I consider him one of my Book Boyfriends of 2012. Who wouldn't want to hook up with a Alpha Male like him and also a plus that he's a Seal. I know you ladies dream about hooking up with a Navy Seal. =) I've had the pleasure in real life working out with Navy Seals while I was in the Navy...let me just say..their workout routines are no joke and their bodies are always fit. ALWAYS! (begin daydream of men in short beige shorts, shirtless on the beach...Yeah...I get to see that a lot here in Va Beach)...I'm allowed to look. =)
What did I think about this amazing book? I had a hard time putting it down of course. I love strong female and male characters. Terry Spear writes two characters that are perfect together. They both have their similarities and differences. More similarities then they care to admit. Meara is the fierce, feisty woman who lets Finn know she can take care of herself, but you know how Alpha Males usually are, they're very protective of their ladies. Put a stubborn female with a stubborn male, your going to see heads butting, eyes rolling, smart remarks and irresistible love making of course."~~FranJessca
And IHeartBooks had a lovely review for A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing!
"Meara is strong, independent, and bull headed- she doesn't take orders, well and she's all too ready to kick butt, while Finn is strong, protective, and not mention he's one of her brother's best friends. He knows the rules the same as everyone else, but can't keep himself from wanting to be with her. It's like they were MADE for each other!
*I can't wait to see if we hear about Bjornolf next!*
If I haven't said it yet, I'll say it now- this book is definitely a keeper!!!! And if you don't believe me, well….you'll just have to check it out for yourself. "A Seal in Wolfs Clothing" by: Terry Spear."~~ Cssndr Mks For more of her books, check out her website at; http://www.terryspear.com/werewolf_series.html

Thanks so much!!!
And Suzy sent me this terrific video of a girl who socialized with wolves during a reunion. It's interesting to note how it appears to be the alpha kept checking out her mouth--most likely to see just what she'd eaten for breakfast that morning, and wondering why she hadn't shared with him! At first, they are just so happy to see her, that the wolf dynamics aren't as visible, but after a while, it gets back to I'm in charge (as in the alpha wolves and the rest of their pack), you're a beta, so act like one! Great video and thanks so much, Suzy!

I Needed a Tuesday Wake Up Also...

How about you???
Thanks to Bonnie for sending me a wake-up call...and I have to mention she said he had a big hose! LOL Thanks, Bonnie!
Suzy sent me some cute pictures too, but I'm having a time finding them to upload them on the blog. Maye tomorrow. Got to get word count!
I tried to respond to some blog comments and emails last night--and then my electricity went out. No storms, so not sure what happened.
Ever have that happen? So I cleaned a little before it got too dark. It's amazing what you CAN'T do when you don't have any electricity.
Movie? Nope. Computer? Nope. Cup of hot mandarin green tea? Nope. Clean a burned pan? Yes.
Okay, so I was really going to town on my writing and didn't remember the noodles I was cooking for my spaghetti until no water remained in the pan. Then the burning smell wafted my way, the crackling, when there shouldn't have been any crackling. The realization that, OMG, my food...was in danger! Too late for that.
Don't tell me you never had blackened something before! :) So the noodles went out with the trash, but the blackened pan? It looks like it will remained scarred for life.
*sigh*
See the things I do for you??? All in the name of writing. LOL!
Now, if I'd had a hunky alpha wolf around, he'd have been cooking and making sure nothing food wise, at least, had started sizzling. Or, if I'd been lucky enough, I could have had a fireman, who looked like the wolf above, drop by to rescue me.
Back to writing, no cooking going on this morning, so I'm safe. :)
Have a super Tuesday!!

Monday Morning Fix

How's this for a Monday Morning Fix?
My daughter is back from her honeymoon in Hawaii. I'll share some pictures when she gives them to me. :) Which means I get my camera back! I didn't realize how much that is a part of me! I use it for blogs all the time. I wanted to take a picture of a lovely purple flowering plant that I think is an Oregon grape, but not sure. The blooms are probably gone. But I was going to have you all help me identify it! :) *sigh*
She said that one of the beaches has black and white sand so they wanted to see it...until she learned it's a nudist beach. Awww...
I received a note from a contest coordinator--the wave of the future, I'm afraid, and I'm going to have to go my own way--ride my own wave...
Because so many entries for published works are coming in ebook format, that's how we have to read them, not in paperback. So I won't be judging for them anymore.
Here's my reasons--I work full time. I have to write or promote on the computer from the time I get up in the morning before I go to work to the time I go to bed. When I go to bed, if I still have time, I'll read a little in a paperback. Not only am I escaping to a world in a story, I'm escaping from the computer screen! So for me, I really can't read books on a monitor. Then, it would be a chore and not something I'd love to get away and do.
Besides, remember those distractions I mentioned yesterday? While I'm on the computer, I can't stop checking emails, stats, etc...and the draw to work on my own story is too great.
So one contest down, I still judge 2 others. And really with deadlines looming, that's about all that I can handle anyway! I just learned another package of books are on their way to me now...so that works best anyway.
Oh, and speaking of contests, the Rita and Golden Heart contests finalists will be announced today. I'll be getting millions of emails in my box about finalists, congratulations, etc. So if I miss important emails, you'll know why. Our wi-fi is still out at work. Time Warner Cable was being really uncooperative about coming out and checking it. So we've been without Internet since Wed. When a business is paying a corporate account, that's really unacceptable. AARP was supposed to be doing taxes for two of those days, and couldn't. So it's been a real hardship for some. Me, too! I hate not having access to the Internet when I'm on lunch break. Supposedly they'll fix it today. But who knows when.
Did I meet my deadline last night for word count? Not sure. I wrote some by hand last night, so I'm hoping I got close.
Do you find that phone calls help you to clean up a bit? When my daughter called, I can't write. So I clean. Did the laundry, the dishes, put a box of books away, put my clothes away...
When I reach my writing goal, I usually get caught up on household chores. Because of working both Fri and Sat, I didn't make it, so no cleaning...
I love it when my kids call. It gives me a chance to clean and I don't even notice I'm doing it! It's just done.
Oh, got the word count, woohoo! Now I have to work on today's, but it's about time for work!
Hope you all have a super Monday! It's going to be a long week before the weekend again for me!

Have to Get Rid of Other Distractions!
I just finished up a newsletter article and now must get back to writing on A Highland Wolf Wedding. I don't have kids at home anymore. The house is quiet, and yet, the Internet distracts me! LOL
I have to say though, that I was doing research this morning while working on the story, so some of it is an important distraction!
But now it's time to get back to work!!!
And part of that is getting into the right frame of mind.....okay, think I've got it now. LOL
Have a super Sunday!!!

Another Giveaway--the Book Boost!
First of all, I have to thank you all for loving my stories and sharing wolves and dogs and jaguars and other lovely critters, including Highlanders, with me in all kinds of different forms that brighten my day!
I get teary-eyed just thinking about you all today while here I am stuck at work without wi-fi again so I can't respond much to anything and here's why you all touched me so much:
Susan sent me the link to a wolf rescue in progress and it made me think of the days of the cavemen and how they formed a bond with wolves that became man's best friend.
http://www.wimp.com/wolfrescue/
And Jessica sent me these lovely renditions of wolves and a big cat in a fantasy kind of way:
And Stephanie sent this to me, which reminded me so much of Oregon and the stories set there. I'm sure this is one of my shifters!:
And well, I can't even begin to show you all the pictures that Donna sends. Some that I have shown, but had to crop more...revealing shots a bit. LOL
So thanks to everyone who so generously shares with me so that I can pass along the favor and share with all of you. :)
I'm at The Book Boost today with book giveaways, that I missed announcing it yesterday as I was already at work an unable to do any announcing because of the lack of wi-fi, which hasn't been resolved and I have to work today again without it. argh.
But I wanted to wish everyone a lovely Saturday...and hope mine's not so horrendously busy!
Have a great day!
Terry, who will much appreciate having Sunday off!!!
