On a Scavenger Hunt in New Orleans!

Rebecca and me posing with voodoo dolls!

A werewolf partly changed. He got stuck and decided to just play music, which was beautiful, by the way. He would howl from time to time, and it was great! He's a fake though as a real werewolf would not show his werewolf face in public.

AHere's my terrific roommate, Bonnie Gill, who was so sweet. She took all the pictures since my daughter has my camera, and she gave me a copy of Once Bitten because of my blog about it on the YA site. I haven't watched it in years, so I'm looking forward to seeing it! I'll watch it with the kids when I visit them. :)

Another scavenger hunt picture--me in a red and black boa!

Okay, off to teach a class. Have a super Saturday!

Some sites in New Orleans!

My roommate, Bonnie Gill, was kind enough to share some pictures with me of sites we loved! Her phone takes great shots! Mine doesn't. :(

This is where we had the beignets.

This is the sign I loved at the Hard Rock Cafe!

And I wanted to get a shot of the horse drawn carriages in front of the cathedral.

Notice it must have rained, but not until we were inside the cafe, and it stopped before we exited to walk along the streets. Which makes us street walkers. Hmmm

Okay,off to write!

Interview at Book Savvy Babe Today & at Gotta Read Reviews!!

I don't have my camera, which is my biggest regret. My daughter took it to go on her honeymoon, so I won't be able to share all kinds of cool pictures with everyone while I'm tromping around New Orleans. But we're going to a ghost bar one night and a vampire tour another. They also have a scavenger hunt after registration today at noon!

I was looking out the window at the sites from a different room and saw the neatest rooftop courtyard--a bed with a wrought iron semi covered top, two cafe tables and chairs, and a floor sized chess set. Really cute and intriguing. Wish I could have had a picture! :)

My roommate and I are looking for a fun cafe to go to for breakfast in the French Quarter, and last night when I had dinner, everyone on the patio was speaking French so I felt I was in France! Really fun!

I'm here today :

Conflict! Conflict! Conflict! and Happy Hookers in New Orleans!

As in workshops! Yep, I'll be driving to New Orleans today so hope that this posts and doesn't do like it sometimes does and the scheduled post turns into a draft and doesn't publish. Horrors. Okay, so HOW did I come up with the title for my hooky workshop?

An author was telling us the story about how her pre-schooler was helping hang Christmas ornaments on the tree with momma and daddy. She exclaimed, "We're happy hookers!"

Gotta love kids and their priceless expressions.

I loved the notion and it gave me the whole idea for the workshop. :) One author's husband wanted to take the class. Not to learn to write, but just because he loved the title. You see? It hooked! :) When I was asked what I was teaching in New Orleans, both by patrons and coworkers, I said, "Happy Hookers!"

Lots of surprised looks and laughs. "Hooking, you know, as in writing."

It's already March 1, the leaves are coming out on the trees, we've had 97 degrees and a high of 60, and 45 degrees in three days. My daffodils are popping up all over the place. It's that time of year when who knows what to wear when we wake up to start our day! But the real shocker is how did it come to be March already? Does anyone else wonder this???

A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing is due out now, and the jaguars are coming! Since fans have called my wolf series the Heart of the Wolf series, and I had one ask what the jaguar series will be called, Deb said, "We'll call it the Heart of the Jaguar series." And there you have it. From the editor's mouth.

But also, the new Highland book featuring Duncan from Heart of the Highland Wolf is coming, and here he is being his fearsome self. :)  He actually fights pirates on a pirate excursion in the Grand Cayman Islands. I took that cruise and thought how much fun it would be to have a real Highland warrior showing the pirate actors how it's done. :) I would have liked to have revisited the place and taken a Highlander with me just to make the whole experience a lot more real.

And here's the jaguar in action, Connor Anderson, who looks like he's about ready to shift.
I want you to know that's why the cameraman is standing SOOO far away. You see, jaguars are territorial. Can't wait to show the before and after pictures! I will say the setting was in the Amazon, and I really didn't feel the same way about meeting with a jaguar there. I'm afraid I'd much more opt for the Grand Cayman Island visit!

I'll be at a book signing in New Orleans also from 9-11 on Sunday, Mar 4, so if you live around there, stop by and say hi! We'll be at the New Orleans Marriott at 555 Canal Street!

I'm going to try and find a book store and autograph books in Houston also while I stay with my daughter and son-in-law overnight on Sunday if we can. It depends on how late I get in.

She was asking if there ever is a conference in Houston, I could go to it and stay with them. Is there? Or maybe I can do a workshop for an RWA group. Poor kids. The only way they think I'm coming to see them is to offer a writing workshop or attend a conference nearby. I always autograph books whenever I visited my son when he was in Pensacola. Kind of like "Leroy was here."

I would love to do a grand tour, winding my way around the country, seeing all kinds of sites, dropping into book stores, autographing books and saying hi to fans. But my library job won't go along with it. *sigh*

They can be just plain ornery at times!

Ohmigosh how true is this???

Here an old man and his loving dog is pictured, but we could just as easily picture a SEAL-wolf and a she-wolf...and all that that entails! You know it's forever.

They mate for life, so yeah, they stick together forever and ever.

Remember to drop by at the various blogs on the tour and say hi!

Wish me luck in finding my way to New Orleans!

Have a super fun day! I don't have to work at the vampire shift tonight at the library, woohoo!

Oh, and truly, I love my kids, so I'd visit them anyway, but if there was a conference that just happened to be going on where I might be able to present a workshop...

The other location is Omaha, Nebraska. That's where my son moved. Just saying. :)

So the question of the day is: Ever have a dog or cat or both that loved you more than anything in the world, that you could forget to feed, or ignore when they wanted to play, or step on their tails by accident and yet they will adore you unconditionally anyway?

Well, see? If that's the case, you'd fit right in with one of my wolves!

Happy Hump Day & TGIF!

This is actually Happy Hump Day and TGIF and Happy Leap Year!

My sister was nearly born on leap year, which means she would have been a lot younger than me had she waited!

This just in from another reviewer for A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing! Loved it!
"Former U.S. Navy SEAL, Finn Emerson had been aware of Meara Greymere for as long as he'd been serving  and working alongside her brother Hunter and that was also how long he knew that Meara was UNAVAILABLE to members of Hunter's SEAL team. Plus Meara really seemed to have issues with his job and what it entailed, namely danger. With Hunter on his honeymoon in Hawaii, it falls to Finn to keep an eye on Meara when an assassin may be watching her as a means to get to Hunter. Should be a piece of cake, except Meara is on the hunt for a mate, and while Finn is definitely not a candidate, he is NOT thrilled with the idea of Meara sniffing around a bunch of unattached alphas.

Even though this is book 9 in the series, Terry Spear makes this an easy stand alone read (although if you think you'll be able to read just the one, ha you're kidding yourself). This world of the Lupus Garou is imminently addictive and the characters are so diverse and interesting that is impossible to not be drawn in. Each story, though very loosely tied to the rest, is unique and brings it's own set of gasps and twists assuring that the reader never feels like they want to put down the book. For those who were waiting for more of the Greymere pack, rest easy. Meara does them more than proud.... she is an alpha and sister to the pack leader after all. She has no qualms about making her wants, thoughts, feelings and desires known in no uncertain terms. She lets Finn know, fast and in a hurry, that she doesn't consider him mate material anymore than he does her. Yay! You go girl! That's right, there's no unrequited pining from this lady wolf. A fact that rubs Finn's ego a time or two, I loved it. This book is just one more sterling example of Terry Spear's mastery of her craft and I congratulate her once again delivering an excellent book." Blue She-Devil
 **********************************
And I have to say that my publisher for Vinspire wrote to Phil Gigante, the voice for Moning and Feehan's recent releases. One of my library patrons nearly swoons when she talks about listening to his voice and I have to agree. I don't care what's written. I just LOVE hearing his voice. I'm sure he would cost too much, but wow, if he read for my books, I'd be in heaven!

Also, I'm here today, totally forgot! Got trips on the brain!

Highlanders on Audio???

It's not a done deal, and my editor said she found a woman who might be reading the parts, but I'm excited because it looks like the books will be coming out in audio eventually!!! What fun! I can't wait!!

Winning the Highlander's Heart
Escaping from King Henry's advances, the Scottish Lady Anice falls into the hands of Highlander Laird Malcolm MacNeill, and murder and mayhem follow.

The Accidental Highland Hero
Lady Eilis Dunbarton's life undergoes a drastic change with the death of her cousin, Agnes. Now she's faced with the disagreeable prospect of marrying the man who was to be her cousin's husband. Not by a change of contract, though. Instead, by deceit—pretending to be her cousin. But if her husband-to-be discovers she's not really Agnes, her life is forfeit. So what choice does Eilis have but to flee? When Laird James MacNeill's clan rescues a half-drowned lass from the sea, there is speculation she is of the enemy clan, especially since she doesn't remember her own name. James is immediately enticed with the lady, but his focus must remain on finding the proper bride. For if he does not wed soon, he must give up his holdings to one of his younger brothers. Focus slips away with each day Eilis is close, and James finds himself contemplating the thought of taking her to wife without knowing her true identity. But how dangerous would the end result be? And what will happen if Eilis's husband-to-be comes looking for her only to find her in the arms of another man?

And a great review from Larissa's Bookish Life for A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing!
"
Now back to A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing, we met Meara in the third book in the series, To Tempt The Wolf. She is the sister of that book's hero and was fascinating even then. I remember being intrigued by her spunk and sauciness and was looking forward to reading her story. We finally get it in A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing. I bet it was so hard for Terry to create a character up to Meara's standard, but Finn definitely fits the bill, ten fold if I may so. He is hot, smart, strong, determined and understanding. Despite being an ALPHA male he does know how to respect Meara's wishes and tends to steamroll them in much lesser degree than most ALPHA males would. I loved this couple and how much they fit each other, even though it took them long enough to figure that out. The intrigue surrounding them made for a very compelling plot as well and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing is a great addition to such an awesome series not to mention that it introduces more characters that I hope Terry Spear will not leave behind."~~Larissa Well, Larissa's not the first one to say this (which is great and a lot of fun), but I still have 5 contracted books to write. However...it's looking like I'm going to have to revisit this pack again in the future! After a lot of folks have had a chance to read this book, I'll tell you a secret. :)

Off to another day of work, still not sure about what to wear in New Orleans. *sigh*

Have a lovely Tuesday. I'm ready to hear some Scots dialogue!

Cutting Up

My kids were having fun here at the wedding. :)

Okay, I'm off working on getting ready for the workshops next weekend, figuring out how to get there and all that sort of thing! Oh, and working on bear orders too.

I want to go to a writer's retreat that's really inexpensive west of Austin where you can ride horses and the whole shebang. Must find out more about it.

Working on the newsletter for next weekend as I won't have time to upload it and hope to send it on Wednesday!

Have a great Sunday!

When Clothes DON'T Make the Man!

Okay, so I talked about how a man wearing something shabby could ruin the whole appeal of the look. Well, then there are exceptions to every rule, you know.

And here's the exception. Holy jeans never looked so good on a man is all I've got to say!

But then again, I wonder what made the jeans that way? Girls trying to rip off his pants, or...a fellow alpha male wolf did it, annoyed that he was getting all the girls??

So women or wolves or what do you think?

My daughter and son-in-law are here, so I'm off to get to work on the newsletter and such before they wake!

Sara Humphreys did a great post about music and what inspires us... She's offering a giveaway:
What's the theme song for your life right now? Post it here and I'll select one lucky commenter to win some bookmarks, temporary tattoos of the book cover of Untouched and Amoveo m&m candy.
I have to admit, chocolate also inspires me. And these are the kind of tattoos even my wolves can wear!

Have a wonderful Saturday! I'm off! We watched The Thing and Apollo 18 last night way too late. Both were stinkers. :)

New Jaguar Series Name!

A fan asked me what the new series would be called, so I talked to my editor last night while I was on a break during my vampire shift and since the wolf series is being called the Heart of the Wolf series, why not Heart of the Jaguar for the jaguar series?

So there you have it!

Sexy jaguar or hot wolf?

And here's a small version of a wannabe black panther living in the Florida jungle. Yep, where fantasy IS reality! :) TGIF!!!!!

Have a heart! Love a wolf AND a jaguar!!!

Off to work my last day of the week. *sigh*

Happy Friday!
