Did You Time Travel Today?

And hour into the future?

I had a fun review of The Dark Fae! Magic, Danger and Romance... Lady Sessily, a dark fae and an assassin plans on taking one last assignment before retiring. She wants a normal life where she can be herself and not hide in the shadows, waiting to take out her next victim. But on her last mission to assassinate an evil fae lord, a bossy cobra fae lord keeps getting in her way. She's not sure if she wants to smack him or kill him.  The crowned cobra fae, lord Creshion hires a master assassin, who he believes is Sessily's father. When he finds out he's actually hired Sessily, he doesn't know what to think. How could this sweet looking fae eliminate a powerful Queen?  This YA fantasy tale takes you into Ms. Spear's detailed fae realm where magic, danger and romance awaits you at every turn. I was hooked from the very first page. I loved Sessily and Creshion's interaction. At times their banter made me chuckle.  I wasn't sure where this story would go. A Fae assassin for hire didn't strike me as YA material, but Ms. Spear knows how to spin a tale for all ages. This fairytale promises that very evil will get what they deserve and the hero and heroine of the story will find their happily-ever-after… at least for now.  Karen Michelle Nutt, author of The Warriors for the Light (Fallen Angels series)Reviewed for PNR Paranormal ReviewsAnd here's another review of SEAL, by Best Romance Stories! A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing by Terry SpearA SEAL in Wolf's Clothing by Terry SpearTitle: A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing
Author: Terry Spear
Pages: 352
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Terry Spear mixes two of the hottest categories of hero in her latest book to good effect. Our hero, Finn Emerson, is not just a Navy SEAL, but also an alpha wolf. When Finn's team-mate, Hunter, also an alpha wolf, goes off on his honeymoon, he leaves his sister Meara in charge of the pack. Meara's thrilled – two weeks away from her overprotective brother is just the time she needs to find a mate of her own. But she doesn't expect Finn to show up with the news that she's in danger from a mysterious assassin… and she certainly doesn't expect Finn to entrench himself in her life as her personal bodyguard, thereby upsetting her plans to find a mate. It doesn't help that Finn's ridiculously attractive. Meara knows what she doesn't want in a mate  – and that's a SEAL. Even if he's a SEAL as hot as Finn. Finn too is resisting his attraction to Meara – he knows Hunter doesn't want her mating a SEAL, and he's never mess things up with his team-mate. It's not long before Finn and Meara have to go on the run from the mysterious assassins that are out to get them, and the two have to struggle to keep their hands off each other

Here Bjornolf is, checking you out. :)
[image error] And now I'm back to working on the jaguar 2 synopsis and all for marketing...I need to write the book first!
But here's a picture to leave with you. Envision this is a jaguar and wolf...

Have a great Sunday! My electricity went off right as I was posting this and it didn't post. So here's trying again. Storms are all over the area again today--so I figure I'll be losing the Internet shortly...again. Hopefully I'll keep my electricity...hmm, maybe I ought to get something to eat just in case!

Photos, Reviews and Guest Blogs, Oh My!

This is a photo of the first 7 wolf books courtesy of photographer Jim Reme, who is photographing the books for a feature for Monmouth University's alumni magazine, which is being orchestrated by Michael Maiden, Director of Advancement Publications.  Thanks to Jim and Michael for sharing the photo with me so that I can share it with my readers!

See, I always wanted to have library shelves of my books like Nora Roberts and though it'll take years to catch up...I've got a start! :)

And this is from United by Books Reviewer, Lindsey Hutchison!

My Thoughts: Meara can't get rid of her over protective Navy SEAL brother soon enough. She is mate hunting and won't be under his thumb. Meara sets up the mate hunting plan by placing an ad that tells the Alpha males to come check into her cabins. As she is scouting them out in hopes of finding a mate, her brother, off on his honeymoon, will never be wiser or so she thinks.
Finn Emerson comes to warn them about attacks on the SEAL team and sees the ad. He decides that he will be there to protect and watch Meara while Hunter is away. Finn pretends to "claim her " as a mate and spreads his scent to warn off others. A body washes up near Meara's cabin making Finn think she is definitely the target the assassin is after. So he takes her to a "safe house" and that is where the passion ignites. The flames of desire are stoked high until there is nothing you can do, but enjoy and let it burn.Ok let me start with saying I love Terry Spear's wolves. I picked up "Destiny of a Wolf" a few years ago, then had to buy the whole series. This story caught me from beginning until the end. I loved Meara with her take no BS, Alpha in her own right personality. You have to love a woman who can hold her own against a man. With a feisty attitude and backbone, not to mention a rifle under her bed, she can bring an Alpha SEAL to his knees. Finn had me swooning. I love and I mean LOVE Alpha men and Finn is that in spades. Finn and Meara struggle with their growing attraction, but the kisses between them, heat up and the foreplay, without the actual mating, sizzles. Spears definitely threw me for a loop in the end of the story. I was like 'Really? I had no idea.' and 'Wasn't expecting that'. Needless to say, it was a great surprise, since I thought I had it all figured out. I definitely loved this book. From the chemistry between the characters to the intrigue it leads up to, not to mention the slow building yet sizzling romance between Finn and Meara, I was not wanting it to end. It left me almost pleading for more. I know one guy I want to see more of is Bjornolf! Spear you did it to me again. I am in love with the wolf world you created and wouldn't mind an Alpha SEAL wolf of my own.

5 out of 5 Stars

Thanks so much, Lindsey! You can't know how much it means to me when readers think they have it all figured out and don't! :) I love it! An author can always hope that's what will happen, but we can't ever be for sure. :) I loved your review! Thanks again!!!

Today I'm at Under the Covers Book Blog where I'm talking about Sex and the SEAL. Now, I thought it was important to talk about undercover operations when writing a guest blog for Under the Covers Book Blog, right? But I wanted to share something about the romance element and what I saw in New Orleans that wasn't what we write! :) It's more about what's pictured between the two kittens. Love. :)

So if you have a moment, please join me and say hi! :)

Urban Girl Reader Guest Blog Post Today

Urban Girl Reader  -- the post isn't up yet, but I'm having terrible storms here and afraid I'm going to lose my Internet/electricity soon. So here's the link and when I can, I'll update it when the post is up. :)

This popped up, and I wanted to share it too!

"Reviewed by Susan S of Love Romance Passion.
This novel will burn you with sexual fire then douse you with its humor. It's funny, yet sexy, and everything you'd hope for in a paranormal romance. With a little something extra!
Summary: Werewolf Series, Book 9
Note: To learn more about the heroine and her brother you can read To Tempt the Wolf. This novel stands on its own, but thought I'd mention it in case you wanted more.
Meara Greymere's alpha brother is away and she's what's the word? Relieved. Liberated from being under his toe pads. Meara has only two weeks to find a mate without her obstinate brother (Hunter) running off would-be possible mates. It seems that no one's ever good enough for his sister. And if we're talking about Hunter's very single, ex-Navy SEAL brothers, then the answer is an even more emphatic, "No-way-in-hell!"
Finn Emerson (hero) knows the ground rules: His best friend's sister is off-limits. And even though some lines shouldn't be crossed, Finn has no choice! He's the only one qualified to keep Meara safe. There's an assassin or two or three that's after the SEAL team, and it won't be long before their loved ones are targeted. Since Hunter's gone for an entire two weeks, anything can happen (can't tell you where Hunter, is that's a first-class spoiler if you haven't read book three).
Can Finn protect a sexy alpha she-wolf from the bad guys? Of. Course! He's an alpha and an ex-Navy SEAL. But can he protect her while abiding by the do-not-touch-my-sister rule Hunter's enforcing? Most importantly, can Emerson deny Meara's screaming/pleading pheromones? Umm…that's going to be ALOT harder than fighting off assassins.
Review: This novel was suspenseful, yes. Hot? Oh-I'll get to that! But it was also funny. Clearly, no one's ever told Meara that one capful of bubble bath solution is "enough" to create bubbles. The notes regarding possible mates in her notebook made me laugh. It comes off like a lady's version of a man's black book. And then there's the heroine falling asleep while reading. What was she reading? Heart of the Highland Wolf. Gee, wonder who wrote that? Too cute.
Now, let's talk heat level. It's over-the-limit! In case you're wondering, that's a good thing. There's the scene where Finn's checking the clothes on Meara's body for electronic bugs. Loved that part! The S'mores kisses are yummy, too. And then comes one of many pant worthy scenes. This one contains (I believe the technical term is) frottage, but I like to refer to it as…dry humping.
There's only one thing I was expecting which didn't occur. When Hunter finds out that Finn's putting the moves on his sister, I thought punches would fly, bones would break, and there'd be an explosion of expletives. Actually, Hunter's reaction was completely unexpected. Maybe those dark paranormals are making me blood-thirsty; I wanted a fight! Lol.
Recommendations: If you enjoy the forbidden love tropes, then I highly recommend this novel. Now, if you're a reader who can't get enough of virile alphas-you'll love Finn. His snout is "always" in the gutter! Also for paranormal romance and romantic suspense lovers."

I had to comment, Susan! You see, Hunter knows Finn better than he knows himself. So without giving any spoilers, I'm quitting while I'm behind! LOL :)

Loved the review! Thanks so much, Susan! It made my day!!!

I've got to run into work for an hour meeting this morning, and then I'm off the rest of the day, but have to work Saturday. So I'm off to try and get the newsletter done and some writing done, and some work done on bear orders and...

Wolf and Jaguar Art!

Donna shared these with me. Aren't they beautiful? The artist does a wonderful job. :) Probably is a snow leopard, but for our purposes, she's a gorgeous white jaguar! LOL

I'm at Thoughts over Coffee today with Sia! So be sure and drop by for a chance at books from Sourcebooks!!! I have to say that I LOVE her rocking Celtic music on the site and I was just well, rocking this morning while writing my blog while listening to her music, wishing I was back in Scotland visiting all the castles! I have to say too that she fixed the cutest cup of coffee for me! Latte art featuring a teddy bear! I have to run to work in just a little while but what a nice way to begin the day!

And I'm talking about The Dark Fae, the World of Fae series at Uniquely Moi Books  : What would you do if...? ! She very graciously let me come to her site to explain all about the mischievous fae and why you shouldn't worry if some things go wrong in your life. It may not have anything to do with you! Isn't that great to know?

I have more pictures of the Japanese gardens to share, but I'm disorganized, external hard drive is still in suitcase...didn't even have time to unpack yesterday, and keep unpacking bits and pieces when I realize, AGAIN, that I need some important thing...like my curling iron, out of my suitcase. Off to send workshop notes to some attendees that didn't make it to my Happy Hookers class. Did I mention the room I was to teach in was double booked? So I ended up in a maze where no one knew I was there. But the good part was that we didn't turn on the AC and so the three of us that showed up had a good time! And were warm for once! :) I was lucky my roommate is also cold-natured, so we had the heat on instead of the AC. LOL

Happy Hump Day! If nothing more, you can just "play" Sia's blog in the background and enjoy the Celtic world through her generosity! Thanks, Sia! And your fabric came in yesterday from Scotland! Now I have to make up the bear!!! :)

And thanks to Uniquely Moi Books for having me also! She's an angel! It's good that she doesn't also have music playing on her blog too while I leave it in the background as I spread the word about it or I'd have a tough time of it!! :)

A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing's book trailer is also up at USA Today's Happy Ever After site! There are others if you want to check them out. :)

Some More on Our Scavenger Hunt

This was a last minute attempt to show that we had crawfish or shrimp in our food. We had eaten two other meals with the proper ingredients, but hadn't taken a picture of it. And then as we were having the keynote speaker luncheon, I found a crawfish hidden under my chicken! Yes, we were very dedicated to playing the game. LOL The strange green thing is brocollini.(spelling?)

Impressive shadow of statue on the cathedral. Behind us, the cathedral was haunted, and in front of the part of the cathedral that is pictured, two girls were drained of their blood and left on the front steps. They had tried to get into the upper windows of the building behind us where ghosts are purported to exist, but were thrown out and told they'd be arrested. Then they had video equipment they were going to use to identify the ghosts in the upper floors, but their equipment was smashed and they were murdered, but no indication how they could have been drained of all their blood.

A wedding party was coming out of the cathedral as we waited to gather our forces for the ghost/vampire tour, and the churches bells were sounding, making the whole scene rather spooky, not wedding like in the least. :)
Can't remember what this was called...duckelini? Anyway, it's chicken stuffed in duck, stuffed in turkey wrapped in bacon. I might have my "stuffings" out of order. I didn't get any because didn't know they had it off in a corner. By that time I had already eaten so couldn't eat anything more than dessert!

I wonder what our readings might have been....

But you see, the real McCoy is in Deadly Fortunes!!!

Still at my daughter's place in Houston. We'll have lunch and then I'll be driving home. :)

Have a super great Monday! Mine's terrific! We watched Once Bitten last night, compliments of Bonnie Gill. Thanks, Bonnie!

It's Time to Have Beignets One Last Time!

Can anyone identify these authors? We had to take a picture of two authors we hadn't read. So Bonnie and I hit up one in the bar, down below, and the other two at the dinner. Leanne Hieber was dressed in the cutest Goth clothes and we meant to get a picture of her standing in front of the Mississippi River, also part of our Scavenger Hunt, but Bonnie got out of the agent/author panel too late. So we missed that. But Leanne told us a fun story of how some people on the streets thought she was a real vampire when her coattails flared out with the breeze as she walked. Too much fun. :)

And Claire Ashgrove went with us on the vampire/ghost tour also and shared meals with us. We just had a blast visiting and having fun! I can't mention all the wonderful authors and writers of FF&P we met and enjoyed chatting with when we could get a chance. Everyone was terrific!

Waving hi at our president, Barb Lucas! It's so fun meeting all these folks that we only "see" on the loops in name only!

Thanks to Dawn Chartier, Staci McGlothlin, Qaey Williams, Venus Campbell, Tricia Skinner, Sandra Allen for coordinating this daunting effort and doing a terrific job of it. And to so many of the FF&Pers who made the conference what it was--this was the very first!

Another picture for our Scavenger Hunt--the blue dogs!

We missed getting a picture of a man dressed as a woman, but others said they saw him standing outside of a jazz bar. And several saw a man dressed in a purple habit.

But we did get a bird's eye view of a couple of hookers shake, rattling and rolling with some scrawny looking drugged up guy in a pickup right in front of where 3 tour groups....yeah, the bouncing truck, lights on so we could see one of the women's big butts mooning us, screaming in ecstasy, right, more like it's showtime girls and boys and so we gotta make this look real...and then afterwards they left the truck so we could all get a look at them. Okay, let me tell you, they were not pretty people. And they would not be in our romance books even if we were desperate for a cast of characters. :)

I will say it was funny as a topic of conversation. "Did you go on the vampire/ghost tour?"
"Oh, yeah, it was great!"
"Did you see the bouncing truck?"
And then the conversation really gets good.

Great review from When Pen Meets Paper!
Meara Greymere is not a happy woman!  Forced to flee for her life with egocentric Finn Emerson is more than any women should have to endure.  Even if he is just about the sexiest Alpha she's ever seen.  On the run, supported by those they never would have trusted and betrayed by those they did, Meara realizes just how much Finn means to her.  She just might have to keep him!

I really enjoyed this book!  It is so well paced and the characters are strong and well defined.  Ms. Spear masterfully weaves passion and action into a fast paced, sexy plot that begs to be read in one sitting.  Finn and Meara have great chemistry and I loved Meara's spunkiness! I was quite taken with the secondary character, Bjornolf, and hope he has a book of his own soon!  If you're looking for romance, humor, action and sizzle (and what romance reader isn't?) then pick up a copy of A SEAL in Wolfs Clothing and prepare to be entertained!~Ms. Bliss

Thanks so much to Ms. Bliss for the lovely review!

Off to have breakfast with Claire and Leanne and several others before the signing. :)

Have a super Sunday!
