Six Sentence Sunday
I've had a cold for most of this week and consequently I haven't really worked on anything new. So, for my fabulous six sentence entry this week, you get a taste of something old.
From Sculpting a Demon…
Chuckling, he rubbed his nose against hers and slid his hands down her back until he was cupping her bottom. "I think you're a very naughty girl," he said, and gave her ass a loud smack.
"Hey!" she said, trying for indignation, but her wild giggles ruined the effect. She pressed her hips hard against his and wriggled slightly, extremely pleased when she heard him suck in a sharp breath. "I guess I'm in pretty good company then."

Quite a Quandary
I've been watching quite a few pirate movies recently, mostly as research for this little pirate project I am working on, and I have discovered something that has me slightly disturbed.
I'm totally in love with Errol Flynn.
Now this really shouldn't be a problem, after all his is dashing and handsome and charismatic and witty and charming and debonair. Everything I could ever want in an ex-husband.
The problem lies in the fact that he is dead. And has been dead since long before I was even born. I want him for my harem – he would look really, really lovely there – but I don't know. It's hard for him to be one of my future ex-husbands when he doesn't really have a future.
But look at him!! How could I not want him for my very own??
What do you all think? Do you think that I give him something like an honorary membership? How do you think I should work that?

Boots, You Are Awesome
This is an ode to my Sorel Cumberland boots.
Boots, I love you. I mean it. Seriously. Even if you are ugly. I don't care. My love for you transcends such superficial trivialities. You have carried me through the Christmas Blizzard in New York City
And the countless other storms and indignities the winter have thrown at us thus far. And you have persevered. You have kept my feet warm and dry and my sorry ass upright.
We used to say when I was a kid, "If you love it so much, why don't you marry it?" And Boots, I would marry you. I really would. But there is probably some law forbidding our union.
Forget Hugh Jackman! Has he carried me through snow and sleet and wind and rain? I think not!
(Actually, I don't mean that. I don't know what I am saying. Obviously, the snow has made me delusional.)
Boots, I love you. There aren't words for how truly awesome you are.

Moonlight and Merlot
The continuing saga of the lives, loves and heartbreaks of the residents of Dion Valley, CA.
As with all the best things in life, this is for adults only.
*****
Lela sat up in Nick's bed, gazing out the window, watching the sun go down. Nick slept peacefully beside her, the sound of his breathing a gentle, pleasing rhythm in the otherwise quiet night.
Tomorrow she would perform the spell she had been waiting what seemed like a lifetime to do. A sliver of excitement rolled down her spine in a pleasant wave and Lela smiled. The spell. The power to call a god. For some reason from the moment she found it in one of those old volumes way back in the furthest dusty, dark corner of the Dion Valley Library archives, she never doubted it would work. Never doubted that it wasn't the right thing to do. Never doubted at all.
But now she wondered.
Why did it seem so perfect? Why was it so right? Why was she even doing it?
At first, revenge had seemed like a good answer to those questions.
Revenge on the small, ignorant, prejudice, judgmental, forsaken town that always been her home but had never been her home. The town that rejected her just because of her last name.
Everyone knew who she was. Everyone knew that she was total white trash in every sense of the cliché right down to her own unidentifiable father, the jailbird step-daddy, the mother that couldn't keep off the bottle. It was impossible to hide in a town the size of Dion Valley where families went back generations upon generations and everybody knew everybody else. She would never be accepted, not as long as she stayed. Sleeping with Zach had been one of her earliest forms of rebellion, of sticking her finger in the eye of the establishment, but she wasn't stupid, she'd known back then that it would never work out, that they were from two very different worlds and such worlds may meet briefly in the bedroom, but never, never outside it. Never in public where people could see.
Vengeance against all of them, for every slight, very look of distaste, every insult both perceived and real, was a good thing. A right thing. A wonderful thing.
Or so she thought.
But maybe she was wrong. Or maybe not wrong exactly, maybe more like… mislead. She had no real reason to feel that way, no solid proof of anything being amiss, just the ever present, itchy, icky feeling that something was not right, that there was something missing. Forgotten. Wrong.
And she did not like that feeling. Not at all.
And so she wondered. Wondered and wondered and wondered as the moon rose in the darkening sky.
[Until next Tuesday…]

Six Sentence Sunday
This week I have sexy selection of sentences from my current WIP, the tentatively titled, Midnight Train to Chicago.
His lips met hers and she melted into his kiss. This was so, so wrong, but he tasted so very, very good. His fingers skimmed over her leg, lightly teasing and caressing. She let out a low, breathy moan and relaxed her thighs for him.
"I love the way you moan," he whispered, and slid his finger inside her. "Moan for me some more."
