Moonlight and Merlot – Interrupted

It's Tuesday, which usually means another episode of my paranormal soap opera Moonlight and Merlot.  But on Friday, my novella, Sculpting a Demon officially goes on sale from Ellora's Cave so I felt I needed to do something slightly different today.

Tuesday has become something of the designated free story day with the great Tuesday Serial and #TeaserTuesday events both happening all day long. There are some really talented writers involved with both of those projects and I would HIGHLY...

Six Sentence Sunday

So, finally, FINALLY, my first book comes out of Friday!!! Very exciting. In celebration, here is a little taste of Sculpting a Demon.

"Are you going to behave?" she asked Arien as they waited to be admitted to the gallery.

"What are you implying?" he asked, his face the very picture of innocence.

"I'm not implying anything," she said. "I'm saying straight out that if you're planning on doing anything wonky, you best stay outside."

A Man's Gotta Make a Living

What we do helps define who we are. The same holds true for your hero. He can't just be your heroine's plaything. Well, he can, but he also needs a job.

Cowboy

A classic romance staple. And why not? Cowboys are totally sexy.

Outlaw

Law Enforcement

FBI, detective, patrolman in uniform, whatever his position, cops are hot. And so are handcuffs.

Vampire

Not a job so much as a lifestyle, but still a full time commitment.

Bounty Hunter

Great Resources

Normally, I am not very into writer's guides. I'm not the type of writer who plans or outlines or pre-plots or any of that so their advice rarely helps or even appeals to me. But I have found over the years a few books that have helped me strengthen and improve my writing.

I'm not a spokeswoman or anything and I'm not telling you to run out and buy these books, they just happen to be ones I have found particularly useful.

Moonlight and Merlot

The continuing saga of the lives, loves and heartbreaks of the residents of Dion Valley, CA.

As with all the best things in life, this is for adults only.

*****

It was a slow night at the Diner. After Zach left, only two other people came in and one of those just wanted coffee. Even though it meant that Nick would leave tonight with less than fifty bucks in his pocket, he was grateful for the quiet. Too many things had already happened.
