Hot Shot: Tickle Fetish?

This is a pretty hot photo. Love to see a cute guy laughing...even if it's a coerced laugh. The striations and musculature are fantastic.

Songs With Missing Nominations 5

From CITY OF ANGELS, a 1998 remake of Wim Winders' WINGS OF DESIRE, "Uninvited" written and performed by Alanis Morissette. At the Oscars, "When You Believe" from THE PRINCE OF EGYPT won the award. Not a surprising choice, and a pretty song, to be sure, but "Uninvited" would have been a more interesting winner. Of the nominees, I would have gone for "A Soft Place to Fall" from THE HORSE WHISPERER.

One Really Big Good Thing

Finally. Today my novel Woke Up in a Strange Place is released. Woot! This one is very special to me and has had quite a road to the book shelves (or Kindle shelves). Here's the blurb:

Joe wakes up in a barley field with no clothes, no memories, and no idea how he got there. Before he knows it, he's off on the last great journey of his life. With his soul guide Baker and a charge to have courage from a mysterious, alluring, and somehow familiar Stranger, Joe sets off through a fantastical changing landscape to confront his past.

The quest is not without challenges. Joe's past is not always an easy thing to relive, but if he wants to find peace—and reunite with the Stranger he is so strongly drawn to—he must continue on until the end, no matter how tempted he is to stop along the way.

You can order it through Dreamspinner or Amazon.

One Good Thing

My pretty pretty pretty friend Volkan sent me a video of some hot Turkish men oil wrestling. I don't know how familiar you are with this FANTASTIC sport, but it's really quite something. I mean, I don't know the rules... or anything about it really. But what I do know is that there are oiled up slabs of beef grabbing at each other, diving into one another's pants with their big masculine hands, and doing lord knows what. Volkan tells me that this is the national sport of Turkey and that he too has participated in it and is quite good.

Have I mentioned how hot Volkan is?

After he told me this, I picked myself up off the floor and tried to get the video to post here so you could all see what I'm talking about. Alas, it wouldn't work. Apparently, one must be a member of that particular video site to post it, and I've already got too many log-in passwords to remember. I don't need another one. But trust me: HOTNESS. Blinding HOTNESS.

Songs With Missing Nominations 4

From Disney's 1996 beautifully and rapturously scored animated version of Victor Hugo's classic, THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME,"Topsy Turvy", written by Alan Menken & Stephen Schwartz and sung by Paul Kandel, was a witty knockout. This song brings levity to the rather dark film. This is actually one of my favorite Disney films and gets unfairly dismissed. The score itself was deservedly nominated for an Oscar, but none of the songs were given nods independently. The winner that year was "You Must Love Me" from EVITA, which would also have been my choice of the songs nominated.

One Good Thing

Anytime I can beat that jerky little Luca avatar in a Wii Resort sword fighting match it's a good thing. He's so smirky. I can just hear his high-pitched, snotty laugh every time he bests me. What a little punk! I don't like him. Not one damn bit. Yes, he may be an animated creation and nothing more, but.... Ooooh! He pisses me off. That little shit makes me so competitive, and I'm generally not a competitive person.

Luca.

That Luca!

This doesn't read like much of a good thing, huh? But when I finally knock him off and into the water, it makes me pretty happy. Just wish there were some avatarian sharks to eat his avatarian butt.

Songs With Missing Nominations 3

From THE BREAKFAST CLUB, way back in 1985, before I was even watching the Oscars, "Don't You (Forget About Me)" was synth pop gorgeousness. Written by Keith Forsey (an Oscar winner for the song from FLASHDANCE) and Steve Schiff, and performed by Simple Minds. The song that went on to win that year was "Say You, Say Me" from WHITE KNIGHTS. Of the nominees, my choice would have been "Miss Celie's Blues" from THE COLOR PURPLE.
