THE PROPHET OF HELL

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

When you’re down, I am there. When you’re up, I am there. Know My hand is there to lift you up, not beat you down no matter what your past looks like.

THE PROPHET OF HELL

I spend a lot of time explaining how this works: God is still good despite so much evil in the world. People don’t believe that. I’ve even had people tell me they believe God is working mightily through hurricanes.

I do not believe God is in the hurricane business. He is, however in the speaking His word business. People argue with me on that.

If you’re about your Father’s business and you pray His will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven, you know His will is not to bring hurricanes. They are part of living in a fallen world. It’s your job to bring healing to people who have experienced a hurricane, and a word from God in the midst of a hurricane.

I think you partner with Hell when you stand on a beach in Florida and say this is the judgment of God – this is His will, and this is what you get for being a bunch of knuckleheads.

Let me tell you who else says that. The devil says that! The body of Jesus Christ is to speak the heart of Jesus, not the wrath of Hell. Jesus calmed storms. He didn’t stir them up.

Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” – Mark 4:39-40

I refuse to be the prophet of hell bringing damnation. Jesus brings life. Period. He not only calms tornadoes and hurricanes, He calms the storms in our hearts and lives. Do you know someone who could use His peace?

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO KNOW JESUS CALMS STORMS. WHEN ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE, DON’T FEAR. HAVE FAITH.

FAMILY DRAMA

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I have promised you streams in the desert and highways in the wilderness. You will not be lost. You, and a thousand generations of those who love me, will be found by me. Do not lose hope! I Am here.

FAMILY DRAMA

With the holidays upon us, there is excitement, joy and likely dread. Yes, dread. With the season comes family and let’s face it. Your family is messed up! Heck, family is just messed up because it’s full of imperfect people.

Let’s look at one family Jesus got right into the middle of – the family of Lazarus.

Lazarus may have been Jesus’ friend, but before that, he was a beggar. Something was so messed up in this brother’s life, he had to sit at the city gates and beg for the rich man’s scraps.

His sister, Mary, well she was just as messed up. Though a personal friend of the Lord Jesus, her story before they became friends wasn’t so pretty. This was a lady with a reputation, and it wasn’t good. Everyone but Jesus, it seemed, knew she had a shady past.

When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, ‘If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is – that she is a sinner.’ – Luke 7:39

Then there was their sister, Martha. She’s the one person in the house with her act together – yes, we all have at least one – and she’s not going to lose her mind. She makes things work, pays the bills and keeps everyone together. Problem is, she became legalistic in keeping it all together.

But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” – Luke 10:40

Jesus set Martha straight that day. He told her keeping the family together was not as important as quality time with the Head of the household – and that was not Martha.

Before meeting Jesus, this family was a mess. After, they were rockstars. Lazarus will forever be known as the man Jesus resurrected after four days in the grave. Mary will forever be known for her love, devotion and sacrifice. Martha? She’s celebrated in heaven for her service to her family and to Jesus, despite the bad rap she gets here on earth.

Look at your family. Are they a mess? Do they know who the head of the household is? If they don’t know Jesus, the Christmas season is a powerful time to introduce them. Like Lazarus, Jesus can raise them from death to life and give them a place at the table.

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO DECLARE YOUR FAMILY BELONGS TO THE LORD. TESTIFY TO JESUS AND WATCH HIM MAKE YOUR BLACK SHEEP WHITE AS SNOW.

YAWEH’S FAMILY VALUES

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

Come into My presence and find out who you really are in Me. You are a reflection of Who I am. What you value will change as you stay in My presence.

YAWEH’S FAMILY VALUES

God said, “I’m going to establish a people and these commandments are going to be their culture.” It was pure genius because it took man a long time to figure out how to define a culture: you define its values.

Values are the things you make a big deal over. Do you value peace, kindness, generosity, hard work? As part of God’s family, you need to value what He values. If you don’t, the devil is waiting to step in and take your culture straight to the pit of hell.

If you turn the values of your house over to Facebook, Instagram or MTV and you expect good, godly children, you’re on crack. You need different values than the world. If you want different fruit in your house than the world, you’re going to set the culture according to God’s priorities. Let’s look at the first two as spoken by God Himself:

First and foremost, you’re going to value My presence. Second, you’re not going to worship idols. – Exodus 20:3-4 Pastor Troy Version

Seems easy, but while those words were being etched by God’s Holy Fire, the people below were already breaking His top two rules, and get this: God was well aware they had made a golden calf and were worshipping it.

He was also aware the people wanted to keep their distance. He had invited them all to come near His presence, but they had no value for it, so they sent Moses alone.

Now all the people witnessed the thunderings, the lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off. Then they said to Moses, “You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.”…So the people stood afar off, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was. – Exodus 20:18-21

Would I have joined Moses? I’d like to think so, but I may be kidding myself. What I do know is this: I don’t want to be one of those people who stands far away from the presence of God and only listens to His words through a preacher, a book, Christian music or Bible scriptures on Facebook. I don’t want my knowledge of a loving, powerful, creative God from secondhand reports.

While He speaks through the Bible, God isn’t the Bible. While He speaks through me, I’m just a man. While He speaks through creation, rocks, rivers and trees cannot save you. They don’t love you back, but Yahweh does!

He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. – 1 John 4:8

Want to set the culture? Love is the answer.

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO DRAW NEAR TO JESUS. LEARN TO COME INTO HIS PRESENCE AND VALUE WHAT HE VALUES – HAVE A CULTURE OF LOVE.

WHY WOULDN’T YOU?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

Blessings don’t always show up as new shiny thing. Sometimes, the maker of Heaven and Earth invites us to get our hands dirty with Him creating the most beautiful things ever – relationships!

WHY WOULDN’T YOU?

If you have the opportunity to help starving people, why wouldn’t you? If you can love, bless and encourage people, why would you not do that?

On a recent trip to Africa, I saw starving little boys and girls eating grass. It’s all they had. It makes me mad that there are so many people in first world countries who’ve never lifted a finger to help one single person in a third world country.

We live in a small world now. We can communicate instantaneously across the globe. In less than one day, we can be on the other side of the world. This is why it makes me mad the church doesn’t have a greater vision to help people. So little makes a big difference in these places.

If you don’t think it’s important that church does what it does, come out to the OpenDoor Food Bank and see all the single mamas, struggling families, and isolated older people. If they don’t show up at our place, and we don’t load them up with a complete carload of groceries and treat them like kings and queens, can I ask you, where else can they go?

Can they go to the atheist organizations? That’s right! Atheists don’t do anything for anybody except to hate on Christianity.

We need to have a voice – a big voice – and we need to do something big! It’s important that the Body of Christ in the United States doesn’t fade away right now. The church has the answer. The world does not.

The world enslaves. The Body of Christ sets free. What are you doing to bring freedom to your family, friends or coworkers? What about the lost and hurting around the world? Are you actively trying to bring them relief and everlasting peace?

Do something! Why wouldn’t you?

The third time He said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.”

– John 21:17

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO SERVE THE HURTING IN YOUR COMMUNITY. TOMORROW, THE WORLD!

LET IT BE ESTABLISHED

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I have so much more for you than you can even imagine! Take the step of faith and be obedient. You are arising as a warrior! I have trained you, protected you, and fed you. Go after My heart and in doing so, your heart will be satisfied.

LET IT BE ESTABLISHED!

How you live in the Promised Land is how you live in the promises of God.

For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

– 1 Corinthians 1:20

What does that mean? It means when it comes to Promised Land living, God says, “Yes,” and you have to say, “Amen.” God says, “Go,” and you have to say, “Let it be established.”

If God says, “OK,Troy. I have empowered you to go to college.” Then I have to say, “Let it be established.” I need to start wrapping my head around it and living my life as if I’m going to graduate college.

As I begin to pursue that, I put my foot on it and God gives it to me. I take another step and God gives me that place. I don’t have a clue in the world how I’m going to pay for it, but I start looking at grants. I start talking to people and asking, “How did you fund your college, because I feel like God has given me a green light.”

You do not sit on your blessed assurance and expect manna (miraculous provision) to show up. You’re not going to wake up and find it in your front yard. There is no manna in the Promised Land.

You have to pursue! You have to be responsible and work for it. You see, it works completely different in Promised Land living. It’s about pursuit.

Do you want to be a successful person living out your dreams and God’s divine purpose for your life? Get with His program. Let it be established!

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO STOP SURVIVING ON MANNA. GO AFTER GOD’S BEST AND RUN INTO YOUR PROMISED LAND. HE’LL BACK YOU UP!

UNCONCERNED, IDLE OR INDIFFERENT?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

Now is the time to feel what others feel. I am filling you with My Spirit of compassion. Receive My compassion and see My heart for others so you can act on their behalf.

UNCONCERNED, IDLE OR INDIFFERENT?

God expects a harvest from each and every one of us. He does. He expects to see us loving and serving people into the Kingdom.

Planting seeds, and watering them is a central theme of my life. I’m a very driven person, but it’s not the law that moves me, it’s the love that motivates me to witness, serve and love in a way that brings a harvest to God.

When it comes to the harvest, the thing that stops the harvest isn’t weather, seed or the ground – it’s the labor involved in the harvest. The workers, the Bible says, are few.

Laziness will cast a man into a deep sleep and an idle man will suffer hunger.”

–Proverbs 19:15.

Laziness is inaction and idleness is all about indifference – not taking responsibility. Indifference is connected to evil. People who partner with indifference are partnering with an evil spirit. Indifferent people are generally unconcerned.

When you refuse to get excited about good, Godly things – when you refuse to be outraged by evil or injustice – you’re partnering with the same spirit the Nazis did when the exterminated Jews. The Nazis were very skilled at being unconcerned.

That’s not you. Let your heart break for the things that break the heart of God. Care about people and get involved in serving the hurting. Do not sit idle while the devil lures more people into the pit of hell. Do not be indifferent to the lost. Plant, water and let Jesus harvest!

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO GET OUT INTO THE HARVEST FIELD. TESTIFY TO JESUS AND WATCH THE CROP COME IN!

THE IMPORTANCE OF EXODUS

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

You have been found. You are no longer lost. Follow me like a child leaping from one of daddy’s footprints to the next. I will never lead you astray, leave you nor forsake you.

THE IMPORTANCE OF EXODUS

Exodus is one of the most important books of the Bible because it defines the features of Israel’s identity. The structure, hierarchy and traditions of that nation are formed in this book. This blueprint is essential to understand how God dealt with the Jewish people then and us as Christians today.

It works something like this: God says, “I am your God. You are my people.” Period. The Lord had plans for the Jews as a people, just as He has plans for you and I individually. Then He says. “I have chosen you. Our new covenant is that I’m bringing you out. It’s how we’re going to live together.” That, my friend, is the promise of upgrade.

God let them know He not only brought them out of slavery in Egypt, but He would continue bringing them out of dark places, relationships, actions and mindsets, then put them on the path to trusting Him until they could fight for themselves.

This is defined in such an epic way, it’s the model for us today. It’s the story of those defining moments that change our lives. Moments when we realize:

I’m lost. This is not good,

I don’t know what’s going to happen.

I am living in the wrong world.

I am a man of unclean lips.

I HAVE TO BE DELIVERED.

Just as the Jews needed a deliverer to free them from the evil of Pharaoh, you and I today have slave masters of addiction, debt, depression, unhealthy relationships – heck, we’re just messed up. We need a deliverer just like they did.

Exodus shows God has a plan for you. He is in covenant with you. He is your provider and deliverer. Redemption requires a new identity. Let Him define yours today.

He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will… – Ephesians 1:5

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO BE DELIVERED FROM WHATEVER YOU ARE ENSNARED BY. GOD HAS PROMISED TO BRING YOU OUT. LET HIM.

THE GREATEST COMMAND

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

When you’re looking for your way, look for Me; we’re meant to be together.

THE GREATEST COMMAND

The Ten Commandments are more than just God’s rules for right living. They are the culture He set for His family and His house. When He carved those words with fire from His fingertip, He was saying, “This is what we make a big deal out of and who we are going to be.”

The first five commandments are all about how you relate to God. The last five are about how you relate to others. They are simple and direct rules. Easy to follow? No. Because of our sin nature, God knew there was no way to keep them.

To break a commandment meant eternal separation from Him, and He knew none were worthy. That’s why Father God promised a savior – someone who could keep the commands – Jesus.

I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. – John 10:10b

Jesus brought life where there was once only death through sin. He also gave us a new perspective on God’s culture. Listen closely to the answer Jesus gave a pharisee who asked Him the trick question, “What is the greatest command?”

Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ – Matthew 22:37-38

Notice Jesus openly said “love God and love people.” Why did Jesus use the word “love” while the triune God didn’t mention love in the Ten Commandments? Well, He did!

God is love. It’s His very nature, and He said in the first commandment “Don’t put anything before me.” You could also read that as “Don’t put anything before love.”

My friends, you can trust God because He is love. You can even be vulnerable in front of Him because love is the essence of who He is! It’s our heart, not our obedience, that brings us into a saving relationship with Him.

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO FALL IN LOVE WITH JESUS BECAUSE HE IS GOD AND HE IS GOOD. ONCE YOU DO, LOVING PEOPLE WILL BECOME SECOND NATURE!

STAND WITH THE TRUTH

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

It’s time to travel to a higher place. You can’t do that with a mob. You are a mountain climber and God will give you the grace to go even higher!

STAND WITH THE TRUTH

The mob is the last place a follower of Jesus should be. The mob is Satan’s tool to distract you and I from testifying to Jesus. It’s where he blinds us to love and fills us with anger, self-righteousness and hatred. The mob is divisive – always.

Come out of here. My people! Run for your lives! Run from the fierce anger of the Lord! – Jeremiah 51:45

Drop-dead, sold-out Jesus freaks have no business jumping on a political or social bandwagon. Why? Because God likes to dump His wrath on mobs. It’s the last place you and I should be.

As the people of God, you and I are not going to stand with any spirit of any mob. We are going to stand with the Spirit of the Lord, because where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom and liberty.

We stand with truth. We do not stand with the most dramatic, angriest person who can get the lost riled up for a fight. Jesus said it like this:

But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”

– Matthew 16:23

Since we have a generation that doesn’t have a clue what truth is, I’ll define truth so we can recognize the mob.

Not just an idea, truth is, in fact, a person – the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “I am the Way, I am the Truth and I am the Life.” Jesus is what’s real. That’s what truth is all about – what’s real.

If Jesus is the truth, the mob follows the lie. The Bible tells us the father of lies is the devil himself. Put down the Kool-Aid! Your Facebook rants and email forwards are Satan’s way of distracting you from following Jesus and bringing the lost to salvation.

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO SEARCH OUT THE TRUTH. LET THE LIE OF THE MOB FALL AWAY AND TESTIFY TO THE LOVE OF JESUS. THE DAYS ARE SHORT AND THE LOST ARE MANY.

I’VE GOT YOUR BACK!

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

You are created in My image and I am a warrior King. I am also a Man of War. Arm yourself with My armor and join me on the battlefield of your mind. We will not be overcome! Victory is ours!

I’VE GOT YOUR BACK

There are many lessons to learn in the Wilderness, but the main theme our Father God weaves through them all is this: God blesses pursuit.

In the Wilderness, we learn to stick with God no matter what. We are His people – His camp. Whatever the problem is, it’s not Him. It’s either the enemy or the in-a-me, and both are brutal masters. Not Father God. His yoke, the Word tells us, is not heavy.

In the Wilderness, you follow the Lord to survive. In the Promised Land, you follow vision and the Lord backs you up.

In the Wilderness, He says, “Follow me and I’ll make a way.” In the Promised Land, He says, “You make a way. I’ve got your back.”

In the Wilderness, the miracle was you were fed manna from heaven and water from rocks. In the Promised Land, provision is never an issue. The miracle happens in pursuit of conquest.

So the question is, what are you pursuing? What are you trying to conquer? Addiction, mental stability, financial freedom, right relationships, a better job, a blessed and effective ministry – all these things are fair game in the Promised Land.

Joshua and the children of Israel, through God-given strategy and courage, took down walled cities, 31 ungodly kingdoms and killed evil warrior giants. You can do the same.

What are your strongholds? Anger, alcohol, porn or gossip? What giants are threatening your upgrade? Debt, depression, divorce? Pursue the Lord and His wisdom. Go after the thing that is hunting you and kill it with the blood of Jesus. Step into your Promised Land and don’t look back. Like Joshua and Caleb, victory is yours!

Then Joshua came at that time and cut off the Anakim from the hill country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab and from all the hill country of Judah and from all the hill country of Israel. Joshua utterly destroyed them with their cities.  – Joshua 11:21

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO STEP INTO YOUR PROMISED LAND. TAKE ON THE GIANTS THREATENING YOU BECAUSE GOD’S GOT YOUR BACK!
