WHO ARE YOU?
I have given you the mind of Christ – a King. Remember that it’s the honor of a king to search out answers to deep questions. The first should be, “Who am I to you, daddy?” The second should be, “What do you want me to do?”
WHO ARE YOU?
Matthew chapter 1 starts off with the genealogy of the Lord Jesus Christ. Why? Because he wrote it for a Jewish audience. He wanted to show them Jesus is not only the promised Messiah but the true King of Israel through the line of David.
So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, from David until the captivity in Babylon are fourteen generations, and from the captivity in Babylon until the Christ are fourteen generations. – Matthew 1:17
The Jews knew, and you should too, that 14 is the number of God stamps on generational promises. It has to do with redemption through a specific bloodline. When the Lord speaks a word concerning godly heritage, He stamps the number 14 on it. Boom!
When Caiaphas, the high priest, asked Jesus if He was King of the Jews, He said, “I Am.” When the guards of the high priest arrested Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane they asked if He was Jesus. He said, “I Am,” and they fell over backward.
Listen, when Jesus says, “I Am,” He’s saying, “I’m God – the Great I Am.”
According to this genealogy, Jesus is literally the King of the Jews. Matthew uses the title “Christ” which means “anointed king,” no less than 17 times in his book. Jesus is King in the beginning, middle and He’s King in the end – Matthew 26 – where He’s anointed with oil, which is symbolic of a new king.
Why do we anoint you with oil when we pray for you? Because you are a king and you have dominion over that sickness or situation. That’s God’s idea. He’s the One who said the church should anoint people with oil and pray for them.
Remember, you are adopted into the family. You are joint heirs with Jesus. You are sons and daughters of God. You are a royal priesthood – Kings and priests. The word tells you over and over again that you have dominion and authority over the things that come against you. Do you know who you are?

THINE IS THE KINGDOM
There is no one like Me. There is also no one like you. Only you can achieve the purpose I created for you. It is My pleasure to give you the Kingdom – power to bring your family to Me for My glory.
THINE IS THE KINGDOM
When you identify as part of His house, at the end of that prayer, He says, “For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.”
When the Father begins to identify the Kingdom, He doesn’t like to leave the context of family out of that. When you and I begin to identify our family, we should never leave the context of the kingdom outside of our families.
I have four beautiful children and six awesome grandchildren. I have a rockstar wife. Even though I have this family around me, there’s a way God deals with me, and there’s a grace God gives me. But what’s real is my kids are not me. I don’t expect them to be me and it took me a long time to learn that.
I don’t expect them to learn things the way I learn things and I don’t expect them to understand things the way I understand things. Therefore, I am pliable when it comes to my methods of ministry toward my own family. I am flexible in how I express my love for them as a group and as individuals, as well as how I bring Jesus into their lives.
Just like that, Father God is personal with us. He didn’t give you the same gifts and destiny as He gave your brother, your sister, your mother or father. He certainly didn’t give your kids what He gave you, so don’t treat them like your spiritual mini-me.
When they identify as your child and you can see them as individuals separate from your promises, they will have your blessing and power to pursue their destiny. Right? Just like Father God grants us Kingdom dominion (power) and authority, you bestow that on your kids.
So have you bestowed destiny and the power to pursue their calling on your kids? It’s something you can and should do every day. Speak life over them. Speak destiny for theirs is the kingdom and the power, and to bring glory to Jesus forever. That’s eternity.
“For thine is the kingdom and power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen.” – Matthew 6:13

STRATEGIES VS. TACTICS
I made you to be unique. Search out My objectives. Use strategies and tactics to achieve My plan. I have made you to be different. Find what works for you then go.
STRATEGIES VS. TACTICS
The objective of all godly people is for their kids to know Jesus. But all of us aren’t going to have the same strategy and we’re not supposed to. Why? Because what works in my house might not work in yours. So, we all have different strategies, and get this – we don’t need to be at war because our strategy is different.
Now, here’s the problem: most of us as leaders don’t know the difference between a tactic and a strategy. If you asked me, “What is your goal, Pastor Troy?” My answer is, “I want to see Jesus transform the lives of more people than I could possibly imagine.” Okay, what’s your strategy? “I’m going to do church,” I tell you.
No! Strategies and tactics are not the same! Many church leaders don’t know they are lacking a strategy – they only have tactics. Because of that, they’re vulnerable to the strategies of the kingdom of hell. I want to teach you clearly the difference between strategies and tactics.
The dictionary defines strategy as “a careful plan or method for achieving a particular goal usually over a long period of time.”
It defines tactic as “an action or method that is planned and used to achieve a particular goal.” You see, one is a plan while the other is an action. You still with me?
Our strategy here at Open Door church is to demonstrate and preach the goodness of God and to portray Jesus as living and life-giving. Feeding the poor and homeless is a tactic, or action, that backs up my strategy. I will not bail on this strategy. It is life-giving.
This is who Jesus is to Troy Brewer and such as I have I give unto you. We should all have tactics (actions) that support the strategy (plan) to meet the clear objective – the harvest. So, what’s your plan? What steps are you prepared to take? Do not fear! The results are not up to you but to the Lord of the Harvest.
Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, beseech the Lord of the Harvest to send out workers into his harvest.” – Matthew 9:37-38

OVERCOMING YOUR JUNK
You were not made in the image of man, but the Most High God. You were designed to overcome. Believe it. Receive it and confess it. Let your own ears hear who you are to Me and who I Am to you.
OVERCOMING YOUR JUNK
What’s real is, you are building a history with God. That history leads to your destiny and this is how that works: God shows up and at a certain time, blows your mind, changes everything and that becomes a prophetic marker within your life.
Then God shows up again and again.
When He begins to mark your life as His, you start living according to the word of your testimony. The Bible says in the book of Revelation that your testimony makes you an overcomer.
And they have overcome him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death. – Revelation 12:11
You overcome the world – the enemy and the “in-a-me” – by the blood of Jesus and your word about who He is to you.
When you begin to confess that, along with how much He cherishes you and how much you cherish Him, the enemy’s hold on your mind and your life breaks. You overcome.
Let me give you a hint about confession. You don’t have to hide your junk from Jesus. If you’re scared He’s going to punish you for being real with Him, you’re never going to be real with Him.
Unfortunately, religion has taught us to put on a mask and act like we’re holy when, in fact, we have junk in our life and we always will! Holiness does not mean we’re perfect. It just means we’re set apart for Jesus. We can be set apart and still have junk that we’re working on.
Got junk in the trunk? Confess it to Jesus. He’s not mad at you for being human, I promise you that. Then confess how good He is, how much He loves you and fights for you. Confess how much you love and trust Him. That’s how you overcome the world and your junk.

THE NEED TO INCREASE
As your Heavenly Father, all I have is yours. I love to give to you all the riches of My Kingdom. You are joint heirs to this amazing gift. Use it to multiply and bring Me glory.
THE NEED TO INCREASE
The Lord has hardwired increase and progression into His people. The disciples recognized their need for upgrade and they cried out to King Jesus, “Increase our faith!” (Luke 17:5) – and they weren’t talking about faith unto salvation.
They were talking about, “We realize we have this kind of faith, but dude, we do not have that kind of faith and we have got to have it!”
The people who follow the crowd and stay with the mob of acceptable cerebral faith will go no further than the crowd they run around with. So, don’t be surprised when God calls you out of your crowd because He will.
Here’s the truth according to Pastor Troy: the only way you’re ever going to find God the way I’m talking about – in a place where you’re living in consistent upgrade – is to follow Him into places the crowd doesn’t want to go. Messy places.
The lives of the lost and hurting, your buddy’s failing marriage, your friends floundering business, your kid’s social media account and your spouse’s fears and doubts. Those are places people work hard to stay out of because they don’t want to be responsible for helping someone.
“But Pastor Troy, what if they get mad at me? What if they don’t take my advice or want more from me than I want to give?”
Buck up buttercup! God doesn’t call you to have all the answers or solve all their problems. He just calls you to be with them and bring Him into the mess. The end result is His, not yours.
So fear not little children, for it is the Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom. – Luke 12:32
Ditch the crowd. Follow Jesus. He wants to give you the Kingdom. There’s nothing to lose and everything to gain. Did you hear that? Gain! Upgrade, progress, grow – INCREASE – because staying where you are is not an option.

YOU – FOLLOW HIM!
My word says, “Do not covet.” While many think that means material goods, it is even more dangerous to covet someone else’s promises, territory, and destiny. Take stock of the gifts and calling I’ve put on you. Focus on them to bring Me endless glory.
YOU – FOLLOW HIM!
Call me crazy, but it just cracks me up that Jesus talks to Peter about his death day. It’s one of my favorite things in the Bible.
After the Lord Jesus is resurrected from the dead, He went straight to Peter and said, “Hey, I want to talk to you about the day you die and how your death glorifies me.” While most people are thinking, “What?!?” I’m thinking, “This is so awesome!”
Jesus looks at Peter and says, “I know you’ve got this reputation and this history of bailing out when all hell breaks loose, but you’re not going to. Your death will glorify Me. I’ve seen you on your last day, brother, and you are a rockstar.”
Now, that was a private conversation, but the guy I call “the clingy disciple,” is there with them. John is so clingy. Always hanging around – always. Finally, he gets on Peter’s nerves and Peter says, “Can we talk about how this brother dies because I want to hear that story.”
Peter is a trip! And Jesus says,
“If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me.” – John 21:22
See? That’s Promised Land living right there. In the Promised Land, you worry about your assignment, your territory. You have your own purpose, your own destiny and you stay focused on it. Looking at what someone else has is a recipe for disaster in the Promised Land where you fight from victory – not yours, but Jesus’.
When you keep your eyes on your prize, Jesus is glorified by your life just like He was by Peter’s. So, you – follow Him!

HE’S NO TAME LION
You were made to bear My glory. Just as I fill My heavenly temple with the robe of righteousness, I offer that same honor to you. I am a King and I call you a priest and a king of my order. Let My righteousness shine through you.
HE’S NO TAME LION
What does it mean to know Jesus and see Him as the face of a lion? Simple. It means you see Him as King. He is warrior – passionate and powerful. He is majestic, awesome and untamed.
The book of Matthew shows Jesus as a lion – our King. To add another layer to this revelation of the first of the four faces of Jesus, consider this: what is revealed in the New Testament, was concealed in the Old Testament.
This revelation of Jesus as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah in Matthew has its roots in the book of Isaiah. Isaiah means “God is my salvation.” Salvation is the face of a Lion. The beginning of Isaiah’s ministry can be found in chapter 6.
“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of his robe filled the temple with glory.” – Isaiah 6:1
The first big revelation is easy to miss. “In the year King Uzziah died…” Isaiah is saying, that in the year his other king died, he started to truly see the Lord as King. I declare this is the year for your other king to die. You know, that thing that keeps you from truly knowing the Lord as your King of Kings.
The second revelation in this verse is all about what the King was wearing. Brother Isaiah was literally saying, “I saw the Lord as King and His garment glowed in the dark! It was literally made of righteousness.” He was overwhelmed by what he saw. That’s beautiful to me. I want to be overwhelmed with the righteousness of God while looking into the temples of the lives of believers like you.
You know you are the temple of the Holy Ghost. He lives in you and wants to fill you, His temple, with the train of His robe – righteousness. In the year your other king – bitterness, self, an unforgiving spirit, addiction – dies, you’ll start to see Jesus for the King He is and it’s awesome!
When you do, the Holy Spirit can fill you with righteousness you could never receive without the revelation of Jesus as your King. Do you want this revelation in your life? Do you want your ministry to begin? Bury your old king and crown Jesus today.

GAME PLAN
Do not leave My Kingdom to chance or circumstance. You were designed with a purpose – to bring many lost souls home to My Kingdom. You must plan, work and determine to bring Me a harvest. The rest is up to Me.
GAME PLAN
I’m going to tell you as “church-builders,” you need to have Kingdom objectives, Kingdom strategies, and Kingdom tactics. This is what you need to know about this:
Kingdom objectives are God’s will and heart for you.
Kingdom strategies are what God’s counsel has been to you, and the philosophy of how you’re going to demonstrate King Jesus. It’s a game plan. Don’t ever bail on your strategy.
Kingdom tactics demonstrate what your strategy is so you can achieve Kingdom objectives.
Don’t make the mistake of so many Christians – many of them way smarter than you – and sit around and say, “If it’s God, it’ll happen. If I pray, it’ll happen.”
Oh, I believe in prayer, I promise you. You can’t do any of this without prayer. But you cannot have a harvest if you just pray and you don’t have objectives, strategies, and tactics.
As the leader of OpenDoor Church, I want to clearly define what our Kingdom objectives, strategies, and tactics are. Our objective is to see transformation for the glory of God – to see Jesus rule and reign, and to see His will done on earth as it is in heaven.
This should be the objective of every church in town. We want Jesus to be a big deal in our lives, our community, our families, our minds and our hearts. Here’s what makes all churches different: we have different strategies. Newsflash! We’re supposed to.
Like I said, a strategy is basically a game plan. You must have one to obtain your objectives, then put your tactics into place. God blesses pursuit, so pursue your Kingdom objectives. Be intentional. Follow through and see what Father God does with it and you.
God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. – Acts 17:27

A MAN WITH A PLAN
From the beginning of time, I have had a plan. A plan to use you to reconcile others to me. I gave you a playbook to follow. The answers are in My word. Learn it, walk it, write it on your heart. If you have questions, just ask. I AM here for you.
A MAN WITH A PLAN
We all need Kingdom strategies, Kingdom goals and for sure some Kingdom tactics in our lives. If we are not purposeful about such things, we will be subject to whichever way the wind blows. In other words, we need to learn to be like Jesus, “set our face like a flint” toward Jerusalem and say, “I am going to a certain place.”
You know, Jesus was fully God and fully man. He, like you, had to have a strategy for what came against His flesh.
“My soul is troubled unto death, but what shall I say, it is for this reason I came here.” – John 12:27
Jesus’ own soul was trying to interfere with His kingdom objective! God in the flesh had to subdue His own soul. I pray you and I learn to subdue our souls. Amen.
Over the years, I’ve had to set my mind on this thought over and over again: “I’m not going to let my mind, will and my emotions keep me from achieving Kingdom victories within my own life.”
To do Kingdom work, you have to do strategy. I don’t care how spiritual you are, how much you pray, fast, or how well you know the Word of God. If you’re not going to apply action and start walking in the things God has called you to walk in, you will fail.
You must be willing to lay down your life for the things God has for you with a conscious determination to make it happen! If not, you’re going to blame your mess on God. Your family, friends and those you serve with will blame God. That means other pastors and I are going to have another mess to clean up as if the church isn’t messed up enough.
Christ laid down His life for you. It’s only logical you do the same.

GET UP AND FIGHT!
Where two or more are gathered, I Am there no matter the circumstance. Taking on a giant? Fear not. You were anointed for battle so fight!
GET UP AND FIGHT!
Tribe is all about the people you do warfare with. We live in a day of constant warfare. Jesus said the days before His return would be marked with wars and rumors of wars – that everything would be about warfare and if we weren’t at war, there would be high anxiety about the war that was coming.
Well, folks, that’s today. So it is super, super important that you and I understand there are people we need to fight beside. What’s more, we don’t need to fight the people we’re supposed to be fighting beside. Amen!
Tribe is all about the people you do warfare with because there are very real giants in your life that must be slain. There are very real foreboding mountains that must be removed from your family, work, church, school and community, and you do not do that by yourself.
We all know King David killed the evil giant Goliath. Did you know there is no such thing as a giant-slayer in the Bible who was not a good friend of King David? Every single Biblical giant-slayer got his anointing to kill giants by being in relationship with David.
So, it matters who your tribe is. It matters who you do life with. It matters who you are loyal to because those people will rub off on you – either bad or good. Choose people who will elevate you to new levels of Kingdom wisdom and relationship.
Since we each have different strengths, gifts and anointings, do life with a tribe that will anoint you for all kinds of prophetic Kingdom upgrade.
Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” – Acts 3:6
I am a warrior. I love to fight for Kingdom purpose and objectives so let me impart this on you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, FIGHT!
