THE COLD HARD TRUTH ABOUT CONFESSION

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

You confessed your sins to Me when I redeemed you. It is time to move on. Confess your love for Me and let Me know you have recognized My love for you. This will lead to relationship, blessing, and gifts beyond your imagination.

THE COLD HARD TRUTH ABOUT CONFESSION

You and I are expected to partner with the Lord in the way we think, live, talk – in all those things, but talking has a special significance and power attached to it.

There are three prophetic verbal activations I want to bring to your attention today. I’m talking about confession, proclamation, and declaration. Confession is 30-fold, proclamation is 60-fold, and declaration is 100-fold.

If you’re going to progress and get to the place where you make declarations and you actually advance – because declaration is all about advancing – you have to learn how to confess.

What is confession? It is not sitting in a little booth telling your pastor or priest every sin you’ve committed this week. Confession is simply verbalizing the secret things of your heart. The Bible says when we seek we find. When we ask He answers.

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person and he with me.                              – Revelation 3:20

Jesus is not knocking with His hand. He’s speaking a Word into your life and knocking literally means connecting to what God Almighty is speaking. Likewise, when you confess, you don’t knock with your hand. You knock with your voice.

When you get saved, this process starts by confessing your sins. After you’re saved, you find out that God Almighty cherishes you. You begin to confess out loud how God cherishes you and how you’ve learned to cherish Him in return.

Those confessions come from your history with God. All of us have a history that is not redeemed, and I want to tell you something: it’s no good to you. Your history outside of redemption does not help you and for you to constantly refer to it concerning your own identity is a tremendous mistake.

Want a prophetic outpouring in your life of 30, 60 or 100-fold? Put your history in the past. Start by confessing your love for Jesus and the ways He has shown you He is crazy about you in return. Once you learn to confess, you can begin proclaiming and declaring – but those are lessons for another day!

WIMP-FREE CHRISTIANITY

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I have told you, I have a plan for your life and it’s good. You must have a plan. You will not reach your goals without one. If you have trouble coming up with one, partner with Me and I’ll help you. With man, things may seem impossible, but with Me, nothing is impossible.

WIMP-FREE CHRISTIANITY

Kingdom work is not for wimps. It’s tough. This is something you need to learn. I have been a church builder for 21 years and this is something I just learned three years ago.

Our church had a congregation of fewer than 100 people for the first 12 years and less than 200 for the first 16 years. We nearly starved to death. My kids didn’t get new clothes. I went five years without being able to buy my wife a single thing.

When I finally saved up enough money to buy her a suit we went through our very first church split. People believed I was becoming all “hoity-toity” and spending recklessly. It was the first time I had bought her new clothes in five years and we had a church split over it. I’m still mad over it, to tell you the truth.

I forgive them, but I’m going to let that keep me passionate. I can choose what I’m mad over and what I’m not mad over. It’s not of the devil to be mad. The Bible doesn’t say, “Don’t get mad.” It says,

“Be ye angry, and sin not…” – Ephesians 4:26a

God wants you a little bit fired up. That’s why this verse tells us to get fired up, but not to cross the line into sin. Let me tell you what fires me up: Why did I cater to those knuckleheads for all those years? I learned I need to have Kingdom objectives instead of their objectives.

If you’re in church or ministry for very long, you learn that and it’s a painful process. People form mobs and do things no right-minded person would ever do. Don’t jump on that bandwagon and, by glory, do not fear it and fold. This is wimp-free Christianity.

Like Jesus, know your objective – your goal – and set your face toward it just as He consciously went to the cross. The Word says He did it “for the joy set before Him.” Your reward is the same.

CLAIM YOUR UPGRADE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

You have not because you ask not. It’s true. Thinking so little of yourself, and often so little of Me and My intentions toward you, you don’t ask for the better thing I have for you. I see you. I know you. Truly I say to you, ask and you shall receive.

CLAIM YOUR UPGRADE

Although it’s cool, I don’t want to just say I’ve had a visitation from the Lord. I want to be a place of habitation for the Lord. The upgrade from visitation is habitation. That’s not something that just instantly happens.

Yes, it instantly happens with salvation, but once you’re saved, then you have to conform your life to being saved. There’s the battle. Do you recognize it? Some of us are willing to fight for more Jesus: more of His blessings, favor and more of His presence. Some of us are not.

Some of us are willing to fight sometimes. Others are willing to fight during a certain season, and because of that, there are varying degrees of the Kingdom in our lives. The Bible calls that 30, 60 and 100-fold Christianity. No matter where you are, there is a huge upgrade available to you.

Sometime back, Leanna and I were in a foreign country facing a 16-hour flight home. I was 150 larger back then and not looking forward to jamming my body into what seemed like an impossibly small seat. The Lord whispered to me that I should ask for an upgrade, so I did. Do you know what the airline reservation clerk said? “No problem.”

I’d been traveling the world for about 20 years and didn’t realize I had about 800 upgrades available because I’d never asked. Oh, the brother asks now – every time.

It’s the same with the Kingdom of God. How many unclaimed upgrades do you and I have out there? Moves of the Spirit that are right in front of us and we don’t have a clue because we’re living toward something different instead of living toward the thing God Almighty has for us.

“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” – Jeremiah 33:3

Do you want to find your upgrade in the prophetic, in ministry, family, business, your marriage, your finances or your relationship with King Jesus? Things outside of your experience and your history? Things it’d take years for you to discover? Call out to God and He’ll just show it to you. Claim your upgrade. After all, it’s the Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.

DADDY’S FAVORITE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

As My child, you don’t have to share My love or My attention. Both of these are limitless so I have enough for everyone. Know that you are My beloved child and My favorite. Come to the table and sup with Me. You know the way.

DADDY’S FAVORITE

Being blessed in your family is just like being blessed financially: you have to apply the kingdom. If you don’t, you’re not in for the long haul and you’ll never see the harvest.

When family falls into blessing, it falls into a category of “Kingdom.” Let’s unpack this.

When God was talking about the Kingdom of God, He was really talking about family. Remember, He says, “Our Father, who art in…” Oh wait, wait, wait! Jesus says approach God as if you are family?

Yes! Do not come to Him like you’re an orphan. Can I tell you something guys? If you come before the Lord as if you are an orphan, you will also be the bride of Christ as if you are a widow. OUCH!

A big part of the body of Christ – which is the bride of Christ – approaches the Kingdom as if they are widows when they’re not. Just like that, a big part of the body of Christ approaches God as if they are orphans. If they are saved, they are not.

You and I, my friend, are not widows or orphans. Jesus tells us to be bold – and comfortable enough with our place in the family – to sit down at the table and request our daily bread. “Give us this day…” Father God expects us to need it, so He’s ready to supply it.

Are you approaching your Father in Heaven as if you’re an orphan – undeserving of His love, attention, and provision? Stop it! Let Father God bless and favor you. He can only do that if you’re His child. What’s more – you’re Daddy’s favorite.

Therefore, you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God. – Galatians 4:7

GOT DECENT DIRT?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I began your journey when I sowed My only Son. Reaping and sowing is all throughout My word. You will reap whatever you sow. Be generous as I have been generous. Bring in a harvest for My kingdom. The workers are few though your harvest will be great.

GOT DECENT DIRT?

The harvest only comes from victorious living, supernatural transformation and accomplished vision. Some also require a bit of answered prayer and a few dreams.

Remember, the harvest does not happen because you want it to. It happens when you set your mind that it’s going to happen – which means you don’t have to act like a victim. You are going to trust God and partner with Him.

If we truly believe this, we need to make sure God’s heart for our lives is top priority. The harvest is Jesus Christ ruling and reigning in a particular area of your life. What area, you ask?

If a farmer sows apple seeds, his harvest is apples. If he sows orange seeds, guess what? Oranges. What are you sowing? Are you distributing gossip and impatience to others while expecting a different result? Are you kind to strangers and even family?

If you need a friend, be one. If money is what you need, consider giving. You reap what you sow, as does the farmer, but first, he inspects the field – checks out the soil. He readies it for the seed – the word of God.

“Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.” – Mark 4:3-8

Sowing and reaping isn’t easy. You can’t give up because something is hard. Imagine if David had given up at the sight of Goliath? Did  Abraham quit when Ishmael was born? No, Sir! They had visions and dreams of something better. Do you? Are you content to simply get by in life, or do you want everything God has set aside for you?

To get a harvest, you need to get your hands dirty. What kind of soil are you sowing into?

BORDER PATROL

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I know what I created you for. Your purpose was set by My hand before you were born. Stake out your territory – the place where you have influence – and carry out that purpose. Love Me and others, and serve them selflessly.

BORDER PATROL

If you’re going to have true milk and honey in your life, a lot of things have to go right. I’m talking a whole bunch of things. Now listen, those things are taken care of by the Spirit in your Promised Land journey.

In the Promised Land, you don’t fight the wrong battles, which is all about survival. You fight the right battles. It’s very important you learn not to fight every battle. Fight the right battles because the Promised Land is an assigned territory and it’s very possible to get on the wrong battlefield – one you have no grace to win on.

Territory is a big deal in the land of milk and honey. In the wilderness, you wander around. You wander, wander, wander. You don’t do that in the Promised Land because there are borders.

“Pastor Troy, what’s that all about? I thought the Promised Land was about pursuit and freedom?”

It is about pursuit and freedom, but in the context of understanding the assignment the Lord Jesus Christ has for you – borders. That means you can’t get involved in the wrong assignments.

There are a lot of people who don’t have any effect in the Body of Christ. They don’t make a tremendous difference. They don’t help anybody. And it’s not because they’re back slidden. It’s because they are involved in the wrong assignments – one of them being feeding themselves at every Bible study and potluck.

In the Promised Land, you bring heaven to earth. You help people and show them what Jesus is like. That is your assignment. Your territory is where God has put you to carry out that assignment. Wherever your territory is, it’s worth fighting for. Stay within your borders to see sure victory for yourself and those God has called you to serve there.

Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee. – Genesis 13:17

PUT THE SHOVEL DOWN!

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I Am God Almighty. While I fear nothing and run from no one, I have a father’s heart. I will run to you in your wanderings and bring you back home.

PUT THE SHOVEL DOWN!

There are times I’ve been attacked and was completely innocent until I began to defend myself.  The way I handled myself was worse than the way I was being attacked.

Jesus warned us, “In this world you will have trouble.” We shouldn’t be surprised when attacks occur, even from friendly fire.

Here’s what’s real about the Christian life: You have to develop all types of skill sets you don’t have yet. The first thing you need to develop is the knowledge that you do not run away from Jesus no matter what.

And when you do run away from God and try to handle things on your own when you “make your bed in hell” as King David said – there He is with you. He’ll take your shame and give you His honor and righteousness.

This is Jesus bearing your burdens and guiding you back home to Him. If you don’t know Jesus as the face of an ox, as your burden-bearer, you’re not going to make it.

Without knowing this side of Jesus, the stuff you’re going to reach for is going to cause some serious collateral damage because of the anxiety that your life. Without Jesus – more specifically the burden-bearing side of Him – you’re going to be fighting the wrong battles instead of fighting the right battles.

It’s this side of Him that sees you digging a trench to hell and He doesn’t say, “You’re going to get what you deserve and I wash My hands of you.” No, sir! You can count on Jesus to say, “Put the shovel down.”

He not only takes that shovel, He pulls you out of your hole and helps you fill it in with honor. He’s strong as an ox when it comes to your mistakes. Count on it.

“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.” – Luke 15:20

A SLAP IN THE FACE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I’m My beloved’s and she is Mine. My beloved is the Church. Build her up with words of affirmation. Pray for her and make sure you – My beloved – are found in her.

A SLAP IN THE FACE

I love my tribe. I love how unique we are. I love the way we deal with things. I love the things we do. I love how crazy we are. I love how fun we are. I love our attitude.

I think we’re the coolest church I’ve ever been a part of. But I’m also gonna tell you this: I’m not at war with churches that are not as cool as us and I’m not competing against the pastor down the street to see who has the most cars in the parking lot.

Why not? There’s too much at stake. Lives – real lives – hang in the eternal balance.

In this county, my friends, we have 131 churches to serve 180,000 souls. If every single church was filled to capacity, we can only serve 26,500 of those people because that’s how many chairs are inside the churches.

Are you doing the math? There’s not enough room for 150,000 people! That number ought to be a big deal to us. It ought to wake us up. This church is not in competition with the steeple down the street. We need those churches and we need the seats in them to be full. Amen!

I love my tribe, but I’m not at war with any of the other tribes because I know this is about Jesus. I can slap Jesus in the face and He’ll turn the other cheek to me, but if I slap His Bride in the face? I’ll bring His wrath down upon me.

I’m going to be respectful of His Bride – the Church. I’m going to be respectful of the body of Christ.

The church down the street has its own brand of weirdness and its own tribal traditions. It reaches people we can’t. Pray for the church. Speak life over the pastors and people under those other steeples. Demonstrate unity and build the body.

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith… – Ephesians 4:11-12

WHAT ARE YOU GIVING AWAY?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I am the God who never changes. I have given you the ministry of reconciliation. The way I relate to you is the way you will relate to others. Be my representative. Tell all you see who I Am to you. Tell them I Am.

WHAT ARE YOU GIVING AWAY?

God is introducing Himself to Moses and He shows up in the form of a miraculous sign. Catch this, how God first appears to you is how you will demonstrate Him. For the next 40 years of his life, the way Moses demonstrated God was through signs, miracles, and wonders.

That’s why your testimony is so important. Some believe your testimony includes what you did before you were saved. Not true. That is your history. Your testimony is who you say Jesus is to you now. It’s what makes us all overcomers.

If God first showed Himself to you through love, chances are your love for people is a huge part of your testimony. Maybe your first impression of God was mercy. You may exhibit incredible mercy toward others. God is relational! How he relates to you is most likely how you relate to others.

Webster’s Dictionary defines an ambassador as “an authorized representative or messenger.” The word says we are ambassadors of Christ:

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. – 2 Corinthians 5:20 (NIV)

God shows up to Moses as this supernatural thing – a regular bush with His power in it – which made it amazing, and that’s what Moses became. He had the power of God within his life. Anyone else would have been destroyed – consumed with all he endured. Not Moses. The unconsuming fire of God was with him.

You can only give what you have and that’s exactly what Peter said at the gate called Beautiful: “Such as I have I give unto you. Be healed.”

What are you giving away? Does it speak of Jesus and how He showed up to you? If it doesn’t, start talking about your destiny and leave your history where it belongs – in the past.

WAITING ON A TRUCK?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I Am a patient God willing to wait, but you have to search for Me. I have not moved, nor Am I hiding from you. Open your eyes. Seek Me and make yourself available to Me. Together, we will have great adventures.

WAITING ON A TRUCK?

God will not send the Holy-Ghost welfare truck to show up and give you free stuff. You’re going to have to search it out. Blessings are worth the search.

“It is the glory of God to conceal a thing, but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.”  – Proverbs 25:2

Moses tried to ignore the burning bush, but curiosity got the best of him and the search was on.

“So, when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” – Exodus 2:4

God was watching to see if Moses was going to search this thing out. Is God waiting for you to search out some piece of wisdom so you can have a life-changing encounter with Him? There’s always a Word, there’s always an experience when you step out of your box and look for it.

Notice God didn’t call Moses’ name once, but twice. It’s a big deal when God calls your name once. However, it’s not always good when He says your name twice. It means there’s a problem that needs fixing. God called a few men twice:

     “Adam, Adam, where are you?”

          “Abraham, Abraham, stop!”

“Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?”

                      “Moses, Moses!”

Moses said, “Here am I.” That is the right response. Making yourself available to God is the key. There comes a time in your life, no matter how good you were at doing the wrong thing, you can’t ignore the presence of God anymore. You have to make yourself available for His use – even if you’ve spent 40 years in darkness.

Maybe there’s real danger in being used of God. Think of Ananias in Acts 9. Called by God in a vision, Ananias said, “Here I am, Lord.” Believe me, this brother didn’t want to do what God instructed him to – take the scales off Saul’s eyes so that murderous brother could continue to persecute believers. He even argued a bit, but he stepped out, regardless of his fear, and did what God said. Saul became Paul and was transformed.

That’s what happens when you make yourself available to Him – you’re transformed. Does God have to call you twice? If He does, know the proper response is, “Yes, Sir. Here I am!”  Let that truck pass you by.
