PUT THE MATCHES DOWN

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I have made an investment in you and the fields we plow together. Be steadfast and patient. I have a plan and it’s a good one. Partner with the Holy Spirit and together we will have a wonderful harvest.

PUT THE MATCHES DOWN

Every time you burn a field, there’s terrible collateral damage. Burning a field is a broken relationship or a divorce. You don’t walk away from a divorce and just resume life. It takes years to recover from a divorce.

A lot of times, people never recover from a divorce. It changes the family dynamic so much, it’s never the same. Instead of caring for the field or fighting to pull the thorns and thistles out, they decide, “Well, there are too many weeds in this field. I’ll torch it and I’ll just deal with the damage later.”

Later is usually a few decades away. A huge majority of the salvations we see in church is from people 40 and older.

People make such terrible decisions in their 20s. It takes the entire decade of their 30s for them to get past the decisions they made in their 20s. Then, they don’t even begin to have a right mind until their 40s. Meanwhile, they raised kids in their 20s and 30s and now they’re all kinds of messed up.

The collateral damage from all the fields we burn causes us to fight a lot of battles we don’t need to fight. How much easier life is when you’re committed to a harvest through selflessness.

When Peter denied that he even knew Jesus in Matthew 26:69-74, Jesus could have just burned that field, but He didn’t. In Mark 16:7, He tells the women to tell the disciples and Peter that He would meet them in Galilee. Jesus knew that God would bring a harvest out of that field and He did.

Not everything worth having is going to be easy. Sometimes a field needs burned so it can grow back healthy. Sometimes a bit of patience and a little forgiveness can save the field and bring in a crop for the Lord of the Harvest.

TOO STRESSED TO BE BLESSED?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I know who you are, even when you forget. Call on Me when the enemy comes against your identity. Do not be fooled. He’s already lost the war. You may lose a battle, but will not be defeated by a defeated devil.

TOO STRESSED TO BE BLESSED?

Anxiety is real. It’s a giant a lot of us fight and, my friends, it doesn’t make you a loser if anxiety stalks you. You all know I have a lot of plates in the air. Mission trips, rescuing girls, orphanages, TV shows, books, sermons series, food banks, family, being a husband – there are a lot of plates spinning in my life.

And all of a sudden anxiety will hit me. I’m talking about “crash the cart” kind of anxiety. I’m talking about when I’m at the top of my game, all of a sudden anxiety will hit me and I’ll go, “I’m not smart enough for this. I dang sure don’t have the money so how am I going to raise millions of dollars to help these people? Then everybody is going to think I’m after their money!”

I truly fear that people think that I’m after their money and what do you do with that? Sometimes, I’m just like, “I’ll just show up and preach then go home.”

What’s happened is a giant has entered into my assignment. A giant has stepped onto my battlefield. Now, here’s the deal: He ain’t going away. He has to be removed because once you start giving in to that fear, it’s over.

Once you let fear onto your battlefield, you’re either going to walk out of your assignment or you’re going to confront that thing and say, “I know who I am and you don’t tell me what a failure I am. Jesus says I’m a man of God. Jesus says I’m successful. Jesus says I can do this.”

Anxiety may be a giant, but you and I have the formula for putting giants on the ground. It only takes five smooth stones – five is God’s number for grace – and those stones are bold declarations. Remember in Ecclesiastes there is a time for every purpose under heaven. One of those times is a time to gather  (818) stones and a time to cast (818) away stones. Today, 8/18/18, is your day to gather these stones of identity and cast them at the giant blocking your path – the giant of financial debt is a good place to start.

Fear, you don’t own me. Jesus Christ bought and paid for my freedom with His blood.
I am not afraid. Jesus says I’m more than a conqueror in Him.
I have the mind of Christ. My thinking is next level.
My God is my fortress and my strength. He is my high tower. I run into Him and am saved.
Through Jesus, I am mighty for the pulling down of strongholds in my life, so I’m pulling you down.

Those declarations are your identity. They are who God says you are and when you start speaking these words, giants don’t stand a chance. So, the next time the giant of anxiety calls you out, call Jehovah Nissi – God my Banner – onto your battlefield. He’ll remind you who you are and give you the stones you need to defeat anxiety.

We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ… – 2 Corinthians 10:5

FEAR NOT!

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I Am the omniscient God – the ever-present, all-knowing Creator. You ask for My direction yet are afraid to follow. I will not lead you into calamity for My love for you is great. Trust Me. Trust My still small voice inside you.

FEAR NOT

For all of us who have a pioneer spirit about us, we’re the kind of people that are always pushing the envelope. There comes a place where we step across the line and the thing that has always worked no longer works here. That’s part of your upgrade.

It’s not a comfortable part of your upgrade, but one of the things you find in the Promised Land is the comforts you had are gone. Why? Because God is not offering you easier. He’s offering you better.

I don’t know that better is ever easier. Think of all the time you’ve wasted going after easier when you could have had better. “…and the manna ceased.” It wasn’t that supernatural signs, miracles, and wonders ceased, it’s that God moved from supernatural provision to supernatural strategies.

A huge part of your upgrade right now is that God is changing the counsel in your life –  your strategies, plans, goals and your worldview. God is changing all of that. It reminds me of this verse in the book of Isaiah:

“Behold, I will do a new thing…shall ye not know it?” – Isaiah 43:19

Do you think you’ll be able to wrap your head around this? Do you think you’ll be able to get a grip on this? The answer to that needs to be, “Yes.”

If you have recently found the manna ceased, the thing that’s always worked doesn’t work anymore, can I just encourage you, that’s just part of your upgrade. That’s just how it works. It’s normal to move into that place. And just because you’re scared doesn’t mean you don’t have faith.

Sometimes you just have to conquer your fear. Don’t be afraid to follow where God leads. It may be different. It may even be scary. Step up to your upgrade. Better is not always easier, but it is better.

HUNGRY FOR GOD!

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

When you seek Me first and My righteousness, I can add so many things to your life – good things that move you forward to your destiny. When you hunger for My presence above all and seek Me, I will fill your life to overflowing.

HUNGRY FOR GOD!

Paul was a man who put God first. The reason we’re still talking about Paul 2,000 years after his life ended is not because he was a Marvel-comic superhero, or because he had some kind of tripped out Jedi-juice or special X-gene.

He was a normal guy who did extraordinary things. The reason he was able to do extraordinary things that impact all our lives today, on the other side of the world, speaking a language that wasn’t even invented when Paul was alive, is simple. Paul put God first.

You have no idea how important it is to put God first. I’m afraid I don’t have any idea either, and I tell you what, I want to change that. I’ve done good in a lot of things and I’ve also failed in a lot of areas. However, any time that I revisit the practice of putting God first, everything in my life starts to get accelerated.

That’s why you fast – pardon the pun – but it’s the truth.

When you fast, you can’t ignore the fact that you haven’t eaten. You can’t deny it or out- think it. You can’t be a part of something else and forget about it for a while. It’s not easy to fast.

When you fast, you’re unplugged from a machine that you’re always plugged into and you’re so aware of it. That’s why fasting makes such an impact. It brings on a hunger, an emptiness, that illustrates our need for God.

That’s how it is when you don’t put God first. You get empty, even hungry in your life. You try to satisfy your needs with money, fame, family, accomplishment, ministry – and all these things are good. They’re just not God.

Go after this. Fast. Try one day this week. Twenty-four hours is a great way to start. Drink only water and every time you are tempted, cry out to God. When your stomach growls, open your Bible. When you think you can’t take any more, pray. This is a great way to learn how to put your hunger and thirst for God before your own comfort, wants and even needs.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. – Matthew 5:6

NOUN OR VERB?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I will never let go of your hand. Every step you take I am there to encourage you and pick you up.  Believe nothing is impossible because of My presence in you.

NOUN OR VERB?

Christianity is supposed to be a verb, not a noun. The fifth book of the New Testament is not called “the complaints of the apostles.” It’s not called “the denominations” or “the non-denominations of the apostles.” It’s not even called “the history of the apostles.”

It’s the acts of the apostles. The book of Acts records the kind of church that turns the world upside down. A church that gets up and does something. Not the church of pew warmers. They are a church of action.

They are flawed. They made mistakes and in the midst of the mess, Jesus is standing there going, “Yaaay, I finally have a people who are willing to get up and do something! They believe me! I’m just going to bless what they do!”

We are His church. What are we waiting for before we can act? What does God want us to do that He can bless and cheer us on? Jesus calls us to act in the midst of our own weakness and flaws.

My grace is sufficient for you, My strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest may rest upon me.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9

God is a loving Father who praises and rejoices every small step we take, just like any parent claps and encourages their child’s first steps. So, the Father is with us, cheering us on and picking us up when we stumble. He encourages us to keep going forward.

What acts does God have for you today by the power of His Spirit that dwells in you?  What can you believe He can accomplish through you?  Say with Paul today,

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13

UNITY AND COMMUNITY

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

The cry of my heart is for My bride to be like-minded – unified. That does not mean you have to agree completely with each other, only that you love and follow Me, working to bring the glory of many souls to Me. Love. One. Another.

UNITY AND COMMUNITY

Tribe is about the territory God has given you and your territory is all about your assignment. It is what you’re responsible for.

This gets into stewardship. None of us really owns anything – not even our own lives. You own your life the same way your little girl owns her bedroom. She doesn’t pay the bills, you do. Jesus paid your debt. He owns you, simple as that.

So, in God’s economy, your territory is what you’re responsible to steward and those things change throughout your life. You steward your education, then your career, then your marriage, then kids, then ministry – sometimes several at once.

if you’re a purpose-driven person, which all Kingdom people are designed to be, you’re on a mission. You’ve got to fulfill that mission. You’ve got to make something happen because the Kingdom of heaven suffers violence and the violent take it by force. That means you are advancing into new territory for Jesus.

God didn’t design you to advance alone. Though He has gifted you personally, He also designed you for unity and community. When you have a tribe of like-minded folks, the devil gets scared. Unity isn’t his thing. He’s powerless against it.

So, what’s your territory? Who is your tribe? Take that walk on the wild side and cross the Jordan. Your tribe awaits.

You shall inherit the land by lot according to your clans. To a large tribe you shall give a large inheritance, and to a small tribe you shall give a small inheritance. Wherever the lot falls for anyone, that shall be his. According to the tribes of your fathers you shall inherit.                               – Numbers 33:54

YOUR NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

Make no mistake. Your identity is found in Me – in My Name. I Am the Prince of Peace, the Everlasting Father and the Spirit of Truth. That is your legacy. Show the world who and whose you are. Love. Forgive. Serve.

YOUR NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES

On my dad’s 60th birthday, I took him to Gibson, Louisiana, to the famous ambush site of Bonnie & Clyde. That’s where the great warrior Frank Hamer, a Texas Ranger, ambushed this murderous duo and ended their reign of terror in this part of the world.

We not only saw a reenactment of the ambush, we discovered a Kingdom lesson on the importance of a family name I will never forget.

While many of Hamer’s descendants were there, so were the descendants and kin of Bonnie and Clyde. As we listened to the descendants of Clyde Barrow talk, my heart broke. It really did. Their lives were hell. While living in Dallas, people found out their name was “Barrow” and they were persecuted unbelievably.

They couldn’t go to school because the principal would throw them out. If they got pulled over, they’d say they didn’t have a driver’s license, because if the police saw their name was Barrow, they’d go through more terrible persecution. These innocent people and their children went through hell because of their family name.

Just exactly like that, I ran into a descendant of Davy Crockett at the Alamo. Because he was a descendant of Davy Crockett, another one of my huge, monster, heroes – this man is a man of God, a man of peace, he’s highly educated, he’s awesome. He feels a tremendous responsibility in living an exemplary life because of the name that he carries.

Isn’t it funny, and even sad, how much a name can affect you? It’s the same with God.

Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord your God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that has taken his name in vain.– Exodus 20:7

“Taking His name in vain” doesn’t mean using it as a cuss word. That’s blasphemy. What God saying is, “If I’m going to give you My name, you need to hold yourself responsible for demonstrating Me to your generation and beyond.”

We call ourselves Christ-ians, but would Christ talk and act like we do? Would Jesus put Himself first or ignore the needs of the helpless by sitting on the couch and watching NASCAR or the Kardashians? No. He had the Father’s family name to demonstrate and so do you and I. We bear the Name above all Names. Let’s show the family resemblance.

BRING IT TO EARTH

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

My Spirit lives in you. That is one way I have dominion over your life. Take My Spirit with you wherever you go and look after My heart. Give it away to those in need. They are your territory and My Kingdom.

BRING IT TO EARTH

What does it mean that you “seek first the Kingdom”? To seek the first the Kingdom literally means that you look to put the interests of the Kingdom first in your life.

Whatever is important to the Kingdom – and to the King – should be important to you. If Jesus is the King, and you come across somebody who is shamed, how does the King rule and reign in that Kingdom? How does Jesus treat a person covered in shame?

If you belong to Him, you know how to love on and bless a shamed person, and give them honor just like Jesus. You know how to prophesy destiny over them and tell them that God’s not mad at them – that He loves them and sacrificed Himself to free them from the grip of death and hell.

As an ambassador of Christ, you should seek the Kingdom and take away that shame. You should answer evil with the goodness of God. So if you’re seeking first the Kingdom, that means you’re looking after the interests of the heart of Jesus in every single thing in your life.

When you do that, the King has dominion. That means He lives there.

There is no such thing as a king without a kingdom. There is no such thing as a kingdom without real estate. You are that real estate. You are the real estate that Jesus Christ wants to have dominion in. How do I know? It’s in His word.

“Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on this earth as it is in heaven…” – Matthew 6:9-10

Remember, you were created from the dust of the earth. You are literally ground, land, territory that Jesus wants dominion in. And He doesn’t want that territory to look like this fallen planet. His goal is for you to reflect heaven in your life.

Are you looking after the interests of the King’s heart? Seek first His Kingdom. Bring it to earth so He can move in and live there.

DON’T BE SATISFIED!

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I do not need you. I want you! I want to dominion in every aspect of your life. I will not take it from you. I will only receive what is offered. If you need more of me, you need only to ask. I’m waiting to fill you full.

DON’T BE SATISFIED

If you are satisfied with 30-fold Christianity – even though you are yielding a crop and I praise God for that – that means you’re okay with a 70 percent failure rate. I want to challenge you on that.

You’re not crazy for going after a 100-fold harvest. Folks tell me all the time I’m going to die because I have too many blades in the ground. My friends, that is what powerful Christianity looks like.

I’m not saying I’m a 100-fold Christian. I’m saying I’m going after it. It’s not something you do. It’s a lifestyle you live. Matthew 13:8 tells the Parable of the Sower. Some seed fell on good soil and produced grain, some 100-fold, some 60 and some 30-fold. Let’s go after 100!

What does this look like? How many conversations will you allow God to have with you at one time? A lot of people only hear one little piece of a Word, then another little piece of a Word and it takes them about a year to get a sentence out of God. That’s normal Christianity for most people, but it shouldn’t be.

You should be having multiple conversations with God in multiple levels of your life. What is God saying to you right now about your thought life? What is He saying to you about applying the Word of God to your life? Is He talking to you about your relationships, physical body, and your finances?

I could go on and on. If God Almighty can only have one conversation at a time with you, it’s going to be a long, time before you begin to see any kind of fruitful victory within your life. We have to let God Almighty deal with every aspect of our lives. Now, that’s 100-fold!

Other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. He who has ears, let him hear.” – Matthew 13:8

GIANTS IN THE LAND?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I Am always with you. When evil hunts your health, your children fall into addiction, demonic words threaten your reputation and the gates of hell come against your finances, I Am with you. I Am up for the fight. Stand your ground with Me.

GIANTS IN THE LAND?

Okay, here’s a quick Promised Land rehash of the enemies God expects you to defeat to get to your destiny. Yes, He expects it because He knows you’re a bad motor scooter and He’s set you up for victory.

The first opposition you have to deal with are walled cities. This is your “in-a-me” or the attitudes, opinions and mindsets that keep you from advancing. The second enemy is making alliances with ungodly kings. These are the hurts, habits, hang-ups, and toxic people that keep you distracted from your battle for better.

Today, let’s talk about the third opposition to occupying your Promised Land – giants. Giants are all about demonic intimidation.

Pastor Troy alert – giants do not show up when you first start off in the Promised Land. Giants do not show up through the middle stages of becoming successful in victorious Christian living. Giants like to show up once you have your act together, so don’t get caught sleeping on this enemy as He comes into your camp.

You don’t have a “giant target” on your back until you start becoming successful, and you’re going to have to fight something. It’s different for everyone, but mind you, hell does not like you taking its territory.

A giant shows up and one of you is going to go. You can’t live with them. You can’t reason with them. You can’t try to get along with them. You have to rise up and slay the giant or you have to go back to the wilderness. That’s all there is. And nobody escapes fighting with giants.

Do not fear! I wasn’t kidding when I said the Lord has set you up for victory because He has. You have the nine powerful fruit of the Holy Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control – at your disposal.

You have the weapons of prayer and declarations that will bring angelic forces running. You also have a very mighty God who will back you up. You see, you don’t have to fight alone. It’s your choice, so choose well.

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. Casting down evil imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ… – 2 Corinthians 10:4-5
