NO MATTER HOW SMALL

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

Anger and offense are some of the enemies favorite tools to bring chaos into your life, relationships and ministry. Forgive and ask for forgiveness often. I desire unity, not chaos and I’ve made you to be one Church.

NO MATTER HOW SMALL

God does not expect you to have a weedless harvest. He just expects a harvest out of your life. The fields in your life – your marriage, family, job, money, health – do not belong to you. You are a steward of these territories.

Just like that, the harvest does not belong to you either. If you’ve got a field and you’re sick and tired of it because it’s got so many weeds that you want to set it on fire and be done, I have an option for you.

See, I know from experience that if you can produce the tiniest harvest in it, the Lord Jesus Christ will show up and He’ll remove all the weeds.

I’ve had relationships with people in my church, close relationships where I couldn’t imagine doing ministry without that person. Something small happens – real or imagined – they get offended and BOOM! They’re gone. They never speak to me again and they let everyone know it was my fault.

That’s torching a field. That relationship and the ministry we were working on together went up in flames and they refused to let me fix it. God is never glorified by that.

How you produce a harvest is you lay down your life in that field. In the times I’ve been able to humble myself and talk it out, the field has been saved. The harvest may be small, but Jesus always shows up and pulls the weeds – the issues and idiots that mess things up in the first place.

Selflessness produces a harvest and Jesus is always pruning us. He’s the Lord of the Harvest, so let Him do His job. Give Him a harvest no matter how small.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility, value others above yourselves. – Philippians 2:3

FEAR DOESN’T MEAN BE AFRAID

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

Fear not, little children, it is My good pleasure to show you My awesome Kingdom. There is no suffering, slavery, or sickness. Be in awe of what I have planned for those who love Me and are called according to My purposes.

FEAR DOESN’T MEAN BE AFRAID

Whenever you begin to truly prioritize God, you begin to look at His heart and go after it. The Biblical term for going after God’s heart, putting God first, and for loving what God loves and hating what He hates is the “fear of the LORD.”

My friends, that’s a really bad translation for a very good, very important principle that needs to be operating in our lives. In western culture, fear means to be afraid, and telling people to be afraid of God is not an accurate picture of who He is or how He wants us to approach Him.

Fear means that if you’re going to prioritize God this year of 5779 on the Hebrew calendar, you have to be willing to go after His heart. That’s fearing Him. You need to redial and reset right now because Jesus is perfect theology.

If you see something in Jesus that you don’t believe, you’ve got a belief malfunction. If you don’t believe He can calm the storm, heal the leper, or that His blood paid for your healing, you need to repent and revisit that line of thinking. If you don’t believe He is good, you’re wrong. That does against Jesus’ theology.

You and I are going to fall in love with Jesus all over again. We’re going to go after His heart, and we’re going to prioritize His heart. All the promises of the fear of the Lord belong to us because we are loving what He loves and hating what He hates.

His heart is my priority. Is it yours?

Praise the LORD! How blessed is the man who fears the LORD, Who greatly delights in His commandments. – Psalms 112:1

ARE YOU GOING OR FOLLOWING?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I Am the Good Shepherd who has laid down His life for His sheep. Trust in Me with your whole heart. Follow Me. O taste and see I Am Good.

FOLLOWING OR GOING?

So, there are two things going on in your life at the same time and it’s these two words: follow and go. “Well, Pastor Troy, am I following or am I going?” You should be doing both, and you should be doing both at the same time. In one area of your life you’re following, and in other areas you’re going.

Follow means this: you and I are going to be God-chasers for the rest of our lives. David was amazing at following and going. In Psalms 23, He paints a picture of the Lord is his shepherd – following Him wherever He leads, from green pastures to His house forever.

The mark of maturity is that you are willing to follow Jesus. Even into places you were unwilling to follow Him before. That’s exactly what King Jesus did with Peter even to the end of his life. Jesus said to Peter:

“Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.” – John 21:18

He’s talking about spiritual maturity here. He is not talking about feeble old age. You’re following King Jesus into places that, a while back, there’s no way you’d have gone there. But you’re beginning to trust Him. You are now willing to lay down things that you want. Because you believe that Jesus wants better of you than even you want for you.

Every day, you have the choice to follow and go where the Good Shepherd leads you. Knowing He will never leave you nor forsake you. Choose today to follow and see how really good His ways are.

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” – John 10:27

HOOKING UP WITH THE WRONG TRIBE?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I didn’t create you to be alone – to be an island. I created you for fellowship with people who love and look for Me. Find the people who challenge you to greater revelation of Me. They are your brothers and sisters.

HOOKED UP WITH THE WRONG TRIBE

If it’s in the Bible but it’s not in your life, there’s a problem with that. If you see truth in the Bible, but it’s not in the people you’re doing life with, you’ve been hooked up with the wrong people.

You’ve also been hooked up with the wrong tribe if you think something only works in the Bible, but it doesn’t actually work in anybody’s life today. By that kind of thinking, that makes the Bible God. The Bible is not God. The Bible is the written testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is God, and the Scriptures testify of Him.

Even though there are some tripped out things in the Bible, if you dig and go after it, you will find these whack things can actually be in your life and they are awesome!

Like the four different creatures that circle the throne that have lots of wings, are covered in eyeballs and have four different faces. While these seraphim can seem alarming and confusing, they are really a great revelation about Jesus. Look at the four faces:

Lion – Jesus as your King, our ruler, the One in control.

Ox – Jesus as your burden bearer, the greatest selfless servant of all times.

Eagle – The supernatural side of Jesus – God Almighty, all-powerful, eternal, spirit.

Man – The human side of Jesus, personal, emotional, family. He shares your joys and sorrows.

These are prophetic illustrations of different ways you and I need to see Jesus. I want Jesus in every single area of my life because I refuse to hide certain parts from Him. “Adam, Adam, where are you?” No, that doesn’t work.

At the throne of God we see these four supernatural faces and it really all indicates a side of Jesus we need to know to have supernatural victory in this world. In order for you and I to walk in kingdom victory we need to know Jesus in all four parts of our life – the Kingdom, our service, the human and supernatural sides of us.

It’s really very simple though the picture painted in Isaiah and Revelation seems pretty whack. Are these very biblical things working in your life? If they aren’t, hook up with this tribe of drop-dead, sold-out seekers. New revelations are waiting.

THE SMALLER YOU GET…

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

If you get too puffed-up by your accomplishments, there’s less room for Me. When you decrease, I increase. Let me invade your heart and mind. When you are small, I Am huge.

GROWING SMALLER

The smaller you get, the more God will use you. I had a vision and I saw nine small things in a hand. They looked like marbles. I zoomed in on one and it was the jawbone of a donkey. I zoomed in on another and it was a millstone. I also saw a small army, a left hand, and a tent peg among other small items.

I said, ‘Lord, I don’t know what these things are.” And I heard the voice of the Lord and He said, “These are the nine small things in the book of Judges, search out the matter.” So, I began to search out the matter in the book of Judges and lo, and behold, there were nine small things that God used to do incredible things.

More astonishing than that, the last part of the vision was this: He said, “Troy, the smaller you get, the greater I will use you.”

The still, small voice of God Almighty is not just the description of the voice of God, it is also the description of the heart able to hear and receive the voice of God.

This is the problem my friends, many times we are just too big and too busy to hear the still, small voice of God Almighty. We think too much of ourselves and we have our own agenda that has nothing to do with the Kingdom whatsoever. We have to be people who know how to get still and small before the Lord if we want to do His will and bear fruit.

Be still and know that I am God. – Psalm 46:10

Being small puts you in a posture of dependence. It puts you in a place of humility. It is in your weakness that He is strong! If you quiet your world just a tad, you may be able to hear Him speak. When you learn to really hear His voice, that’s when He can use you. So, grow smaller!

WHAT IS THE GOLIATH IN YOUR LIFE?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I have not given you a spirit of fear. You have been given a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. That is all you need to defeat the darkness around you. Arise! Overcome in My Mighty Name!

ONE GOLIATH AT A TIME

The most notable giant in the Bible is Goliath. Even the word “Goliath” has become a synonym for the word huge. How huge was Goliath? Goliath was six cubits and a span.

A cubit is somewhere between 19 and 21 inches, so Goliath was 9-foot-6 at his shortest and well over 11 feet at his tallest. What an intimidator. What a monster.

Goliath was not only big, he was supernatural – a hybrid of half demon, half human. This means he can do things he shouldn’t be able to do and he knows stuff, dark stuff, bad stuff. He’s ungodly so he loves to kill people and destroy lives. He’s good at it.

Aligned with the evil Philistines, he was keeping the children of Israel from advancing forward. He was single-handedly holding King Saul’s armies at bay.

Israel was supposed to wipe out the Philistines. They were slavers who worshipped a false god of perversion and child sacrifice. Really evil folks that kept pushing their way into the Jewish society. Samson failed to wipe them out.

Every day, Goliath stands in front of the armies of Israel and taunts them. He throws insults at God Almighty and nobody – not even King Saul – has the guts to take his demonic punk on because they refuse to believe the power of their own God.

What is the Goliath in your life? Anger, jealousy, depression or despair got you down? Is the giant of unemployment, debt or poverty looming over you? Does fear of failure or the fallout of a divorce have you in its grip? He just ran you out of your Promised Land.

Like David, the scrawny shepherd boy, stand up and say, “Not today. You will not defeat me and you are not bigger than my God who’s reputation I stand for.” Pick up your five smooth stones – your identity and who God says you are – and cast them at the devil’s head.

Do that day after day until you see that you’ve done killed him and cut off his head with his own sword. God has called you to be on overcomer, so overcome your giants, one Goliath at a time.

“Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” – 1 Samuel 17:36-17

HANDS OFF WEEDS IN YOUR FIELD

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

You will fail. When you do, I will pick you up. Before striking a match to your field, consider the aftermath. There may be so many thorns and weeds that you see no chance of fruit. I see it! Don’t burn down your harvest.

HANDS OFF!

Sometimes you do have to burn a field – a toxic relationship – but I do not recommend it. If you have time for that, go ahead. But know this, if you burn that field – that relationship – the next several seasons of your life – will also be about the burning of that field.

You need to make sure you don’t burn your relationships down by being very careful about the “me,”  “my,” and “I’s” in your life. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, look at brother Samson. He was a monumental field burner and it cost everyone around him.

Then Samson called to the Lord, saying, “O Lord God, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God, that I may with one blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes!” – Judges 16:28-30

Samson took hold of the two middle pillars and said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” He pushed with all his might and the temple fell. The Bible says Samson killed more people in his death than during his life. He burned his own field and he said “I,” “me,” and “my” seven times in his last prayer.

Verse 31 says, “He had judged Israel twenty years.” Let me tell you this: judges were supposed to judge Israel for forty years. Samson was a 50-fold Christian at best. Let me tell you about the collateral damage of Samson burning the field of his own life.

Samson was anointed to take out the Philistines. Instead, he slept with the Philistines. This caused an additional 400 years of slavery for Israel. That was until King David showed up, and wiped out all of the Philistines. We don’t find any more Philistines after David comes on the scene.

Folks, this is about the collateral damage to our friends and family when we don’t lay down out lives in our relationships. When we make things all about “me” and “myself” with other people, we’ll eventually break those relationships off – think divorce or disowning someone – and that is costly.

Instead of burning the field or trying to pull up the weeds yourself, let Jesus do the dirty work. He loves to separate the grain from the “tares” or weeds. Let Him pull the weeds. And know that many of the weeds you see in your fields Jesus can turn into fruit for a harvest. If you pull that weed, Jesus cannot transform it, so hands off!

WANT TO AVOID A TRAP DOOR?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I love you too much to let you stay the way you are. Each new height you reach in your awareness and understanding of Me is cause for celebration in the heavenly realms. Know I Am singing over you as you continue to grow.

AVOIDING THE TRAP DOOR

Progressing is a big deal. You should have a growing relationship with God that re-teaches you Jesus over and over again. Here are a few ways to know if this applies to you or not.

Do you have ongoing, new revelation about Jesus on a regular basis?
Has your theology about God and how He works changed over the past few years?
Have you seen signs, miracles, and wonders in your life in the last year?
Do you hear God speaking to you?
Do you ever feel the presence or prompting of the Holy Spirit?
Do you know your purpose and destiny?

Let me tell you, if you answered no to any of these, I’m worried about you.

You should not have the same exact theology that you did 20,10 or even five years ago. If you walked a powerful walk with the Lord in 2017, there are things you should believe now that you didn’t at the beginning of January 2017. There should be things you’ve experienced in God that you didn’t know He did before that. That’s growth.

If you’re ever going to walk in a sense of wonder, you have to be open to the unexplainable parts of God. If you’re happy with just knowing God in really safe ways – attending church and knowing God through your Bible – you may have a relationship with the book and not the Savior. Just something to think about.

As you grow in the Lord, as your theology expands with your experience, it positions Him more and more as King. When Jesus is your King, you become more and more dependent on Him. Total dependency on Jesus theology is the theology you and I need to have.

If you have not learned that, it’s okay. A trap door will fall out from under you and you’ll go right back to the wilderness. In the wilderness, Jesus will love you and care for you, but His goal isn’t for you to stay a babe in the wilderness. His goal is for you to be a warrior in the Promised Land.

Want to avoid the trap door? Grow. Go after more. Be intentional about being in the presence of the Lord. It can’t help but change you.

HOW IS GOD SHOWING UP IN YOUR LIFE?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I Am infinite. Just when you think you understand My ways, I come to you in a way you’ve never experienced before. Seek Me. You will find Me in new, refreshing ways.

NORMAL CHRISTIANITY

It’s so life-giving to see Jesus. That’s why you need to seek Him. Anything Jesus shows you is so intentional because He can look any way He wants to look. He can show up to you in any number of ways.

Earlier this year I had a vision and since that encounter, everything in my life has gone up. Everything has. The anointing that’s in my life, my ability to preach, my ability to pray, my ability to stay focused – things have been accelerated.

This is what I can tell you about this vision of the Lord Jesus Christ: I was aware of how intentional He was about what He wanted to show me about His character.

Because He’s not subject to time, gravity, age – He’s not subject to anything – He can show up however He needs to get your attention. However He looks to you is exactly the way He’s trying to show you something.

And I was so blown away with the Lord and how He got His message across to me. I don’t tell everybody my dreams and visions, but can I tell you this: if it’s in the Bible but it’s not in your life, there’s a problem with that.

Dreams, visions, and prophetic words are a huge part of the Bible, as are signs, miracles, and wonders. If you’re not walking in these things, you could be running with the wrong crowd. They are are part of normal Christianity.

So when Jesus shows up in a vision and He’s looking like a king, He’s giving you a message about dominion and letting Him rule and reign over an area of your life. If He shows up like a lamb, He’s talking to you about laying down something in your life for the betterment of others. Get my drift here?

How is God showing up in your life? When you read His word, does something jump off the page or make your baby leap? Can you picture it in your head or does the Lord bring you a dream or a vision to back it up? If not, that’s not normal. Find your tribe of drop-dead, sold-out Jesus freaks and get with the right crowd – the people going after more of Jesus.

If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you… – John 15:7

HAVE A PURSUIT GOD CAN BLESS?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

There is nowhere you follow Me that I Am not present in all My glory and power. I will supply every need you face along the way. Walk after Me knowing I Am for you. Fear not. It is My pleasure to give you the Kingdom.

HAVE A PURSUIT GOD CAN BLESS?

God blesses pursuit. That statement can absolutely change your life. It is only as we are following Him that we understand God blesses pursuit. Jesus has called us to follow Him, to trust Him.

Who has complained their way into an upgrade? You don’t pursue by sitting on your butt and griping. You can’t complain, gripe, moan, or pity yourself into an upgrade. It will never work. Following means getting up and believing God Almighty has something for you.

Yeah, you’re probably going to make some mistakes and that’s OK. The worst thing in the world is not for you to make mistakes, but for you to do nothing. Jesus defined the person who plays it safe and stays on the couch as a “wicked and lazy servant.” He wasn’t willing to take a risk. The reason he refused take the risk is because He didn’t trust the Master. He accused the Master of being different than He actually was!

How is it that you and I can qualify to know King Jesus in a greater way than others do? We qualify because we’re willing to follow Him where other people are not willing to. You can say you love Jesus all you want, but I can tell if you love Jesus by whether or not you’re laying down your life and following Him. Amen.

Following is so important. We need to learn how to follow. It’s what qualifies us for greatness.  It teaches us how to trust Him. It’s in following Him we see the goodness of God.

“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me, for whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” – Matthew 16:24-25

We have the choice today to keep our eyes on Jesus – to follow Him or sit on the couch in fear of the risk. He is good. Trust and follow.
