GOD’S FAVORITE CHILD

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

You are loved by God. Period. He created you, gave you life and hopes the best for you. Run to Him so He can care for you no matter what mess you’ve gotten yourself into. He’s got the blood of Jesus to make you white as snow.

GOD’S FAVORITE CHILD

Has anybody told you God is not mad at you? Know this: He’s not. If you’ve ever thought that God is mad at you, punishing you or just indifferent to your suffering, you’ve swallowed a lie of the devil.

Somehow, people have gotten the impression God is just waiting to punish us if we mess up.

Lost job? Crumbling marriage or rebellious child? You think God must be punishing you for something you did. Financial problems, health issues, natural disaster? You just know God is judging you. You must have messed up when you….

STOP! This is wrong thinking from the pit of Hell! The devil, God’s adversary, wants you to believe this lie so you will doubt your Father’s goodness. Satan hates it when we understand how good God truly is. It shines a very bright spotlight on how evil and demented he is – that he is not God and has already been defeated.

Know this – God is not waiting for you to sin or mess up so He can squash you. He’s just not. He does let us have the natural, or earthly consequences, of our actions, but that is on us alone – not Him. The Bible says God disciplines us just like our earthy fathers, only His discipline is always perfect, just and builds us back up.

For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in His holiness. – Hebrews 12:10

Remember discipline is a necessary job of a loving Father. Because it’s meted out by a good daddy who wants us to continue moving forward, it is never punishment. When bad things happen, know you are not being punished. Jesus said, “In this word you will have trouble.” He did and if Jesus couldn’t escape it, neither can you.

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO GET THE REVELATION THAT GOD KEEPS NO RECORD OF WRONGS IF YOU ARE HIS CHILD. HE’S NOT PUNISHING YOU. GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!

MIRACLE ON THE HUDSON REVISITED

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

The Word tells us those who refresh another will themselves be refreshed. What are you waiting for? Ask the Holy Spirit for eyes to see and faith to break through to your refreshing. Ahhh, the Lord is so good!!!

MIRACLE ON THE HUDSON REVISITED

I’m the Christian the devil warned you about. I believe in miracles. In this world of innumerable messes, my God is prevailing in His goodness while being blamed for all the bad.

As you know, I see Him in the headlines and the infamous “Miracle on the Hudson” shouted at me.

This story is not about what when wrong, but what went right. It’s like Isaiah 58:10 where it says “your darkness will be like noonday.” It’s not about the darkness. It’s about the light.

It’s about what hasn’t worked before works perfectly this time.

We’ve all seen what happens when a jumbo jet tries to land in water – disaster. Is that a word for you? Things that have typically been disasters for you are going to work perfectly this year! It’s about quick response and cool heads.

Having lost two engines to bird strikes, Pilot “Sully” Sullenberger made a quick and radical decision to land in the Hudson River instead of trying to return to the airport. That radical decision saved the lives of 155 passengers, many of whom were lost souls. Like him, we should refuse to panic. We should respond rapidly with appropriate action to qualify for the upgrade of “zero to hero.”

It’s about ditching the plane. Remember, it’s not about everything going perfectly. It’s about a perfect outcome.

It’s about the playbook being rewritten. Just like Sully’s water landing has rewritten flight training manuals, you will find new ways of doing things and new trails to blaze.

It’s also about paying attention to the pre-flight safety announcements.

Directions on how to survive a water landing and exiting a plane are not a courtesy. They are specific instructions you must take seriously to live. Kind of like Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.

And finally, it’s about the pilot and the crew refusing any attention or credit.

I think when God does miraculous things through us, it’s important for us, like Sully and crew, to get out of His way. We need to remain humble and not make it all about us. The idea is not to make our ministry or self famous, but the God we serve.

Hold me up, and I shall be safe, And I shall observe Your statutes continually. – Psalms 119:117

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO FORGET WHAT WENT WRONG AND FOCUS ON WHAT’S GOING RIGHT. IT’S NOT ABOUT EVERYTHING GOING PERFECTLY BUT A PERFECT OUTCOME BECAUSE OF JESUS.

THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

The more you focus on Jesus and magnify Him, the smaller you will become. God is looking for those who will magnify Him. Tell others of His works in your life and He will show up in big ways.

THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN

Paul got smaller the longer he walked with the Lord. You can clearly see it in his writings. When he wrote his letter to the Galatians in 58 A.D., he starts off by letting everyone know his credentials.

Paul, an apostle (not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead)… – Galatians 1:1

Just a year or so later when he writes to the Corinthians, Paul doesn’t put so much stock in his title or credentials. His perception of himself has changed dramatically.

For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. – 1 Corinthians 15:9

And about five years after that, in 64 A.D., he doesn’t even call himself an apostle. In fact, Paul sees himself as “least among the saints.”

To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ… – Ephesians 3:8.

Three years later, at the end of his life and sitting in a Roman dungeon, Paul did not consider himself higher than anyone in the church. No longer quoting his credentials and touting his God-given titles, he wrote to Timothy, the young pastor of the biggest church in the world at the time. In this letter, Paul called himself “the chief of sinners” because he counted his sins so grievous. Praise the Lord that Jesus counted them as forgiven!

You want to know how Paul dealt with all the conflict, persecution, peril and outright hell he had to endure as an apostle and martyr of the early church? He got small. Prison will do that to a man. With nothing else to do, nowhere to go and no one to lord over, inmates are forced to get small. Paul was.

He knew it wasn’t about him, but about Jesus. This knowledge gave Paul the ability to “finish his course” as written in 2 Timothy 4:7.

What about you? Do you want to finish your course well? Can you become a prisoner of God’s mercy and grace so that Jesus can become large in the eyes of non-believers? Remember, the smaller you get, the more God can use you!

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO GET SMALL SO THE WORLD CAN SEE JESUS. TESTIFY TO HIS GOODNESS AND GIVE HIM THE GLORY BY TELLING SOMEONE WHAT HE HAS DONE FOR YOU!

NO LONGER A SLAVE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

My righteous right hand is over you. My presence is your freedom to go forth. Though there is much darkness, there is more Light within you to show you the way.

NO LONGER A SLAVE

The Promised Land is all about empowerment.

Empowerment is not when somebody gives you something. It’s when all the obstacles are removed so you can do something. The Wilderness is not about empowerment. The Promised Land is. It’s where Father God says, “Sic ’em, and I’ll back you up!”

Promised Land living is when you partner with God Almighty. You have to and it comes with responsibility. If you see yourself as a victim, you will never take responsibility for how you think, act, feel, your broken relationships or finances. You’ll say, “No, I’m not responsible for that.” You won’t do anything.

But God says, “You are no longer a slave. You are my child. I love you, and we’re friends. We’re going to make this thing work, and we’re going to be awesome together.” He’s fixing to show you His original intent for your life.

The Lord says, “I’m about to put some armor on you and I’m about to point you to walled cities, 31 ungodly kings and terrible giants. I’m going to say, ‘Sic ’em!’ and you’re going to fight like a madman to take your ground.”

Jesus will give you plans and strategies. He will back you up and give you brilliant ideas when you learn to partner with Him.

Want to move out of your box? Looking to start a new ministry, open your own business or follow that dream you’ve had since you were a kid? Get into the presence of God. Trust Him fully and step out. He’s got your back!

You go before me and follow me. You play your hand of blessing on my head. – Psalms 139:5

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS! STEP OUT IN FAITH KNOWING GOD WILL BACK YOU UP WHEN YOU TRUST HIM!

TEFLON COATING

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

When the present seems more like the past, it’s time for new beginnings. There is no change in our comfort zone – get out of the zone and get on with the Lord. He will see you through!

TEFLON COATED

Years ago, I was busy in ministry on the border. We gave away 6,000 pairs of shoes, then fed and loved on the poor and enslaved in the trash dumps of Matamoros.

Because I still had my band at the time, I had a gig in Dallas on Saturday night. Tired and crunched for time, I did what I had never done before. I took a plane home while the rest of the team drove. Yes, there is a story to tell.

During what was supposed to be a short layover in San Antonio, we were evacuated from our plane. Bomb sniffing dogs were released on all 100 passengers and FBI agents combed us, our belongings and the plane for an explosive.

The airport had received several calls about a bomb in the terminal and a Dallas-bound flight. They evacuated the plane, took it to a safe zone and found nothing. We were allowed back on two hours later.

The basics I just told you were on the evening news and in the next day’s newspaper. What was missing from the story is there were no reports of the person they arrested, even though I saw officials take them off the plane.

While the airline handled the situation well, I did not get fully reimbursed for my ruined underwear. I might be an awesome man of God, but I’m also a big fat chicken. God knows this about me. Because of this, I know one thing for certain: He is my protector. He’s yours too.

There is really no telling what all your Heavenly Father is protecting you from. Like the old Amy Grant song “Angels Watching Over Me” says, “A reckless car ran out of gas before it ran my way.” Yes, there are “near misses all around us” and “accidents unknown” that your Abba handles before they get to you, His kiddo.

There is no doubt in my mind He’s eliminating threats the same way you pick up sharp objects to keep your little ones safe. You should be so thankful that He is your Father and a good one at that! Praise you Abba for being the Protector that you are!

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him will I trust.’” – Psalms 91:1-2

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY THANK YOUR ABBA FOR PROTECTING YOU. FROM WHAT? YOU’LL KNOW SOMEDAY. FOR NOW, PRAISE HIS NAME!

THE BIG AND SMALL OF IT

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Remember who you are and who you are not. God made you for a specific purpose and He intends to guide you on your journey. Stay still and quiet in order to hear His voice to you.

THE BIG AND SMALL OF IT

There is no way God can be big in your life without you getting small. A great question was asked more than 3,000 years ago in the book of Job:

“Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his maker?” – Job 4:17

The answer is a clear and resounding, “No!” God has set things up so that man shall not be more anything than Him. We just can’t despite our desperate need to control our own lives and those around us.

The famous French philosopher Voltaire often spent his wasted life and expensive ink expressing his contempt for God, God’s people and His Word. When he so arrogantly wrote that his words and philosophies would soon be more important than the word of God, Voltaire got God’s attention.

About 200 years ago, this genius wrote this prediction from his library in Paris: “I will go through the forest of scriptures and girdle all the tress so that in 100 years, Christianity will be but a vanishing memory.”

HA, HA, HA! Just a few years after his death, that same library where he penned those arrogant words was purchased by the British and Foreign Bible Society and was filled from floor to ceiling with thousands of copies of the Bible Voltaire so hated.

The makers of the Titanic learned this same lesson. They declared “even God couldn’t sink this ship.” Their glory turned to shame as their unsinkable vessel became unsaveable.

Then there was John Lennon who declared the Beatles “more famous than Jesus Christ.” Within six months of that statement, the cover of Time magazine was emblazoned with the hit rock opera “Jesus Christ Superstar.”

The lesson? You and I can never be more anything than God, and would we really want to? Like I always say, “You see their glory, but do you know their story?”

God’s story isn’t all glory. There is a lot of pain, loss and sacrifice in being God. I suspect it’s not a great job to have and maybe that’s why He so jealously guards it – He’s protecting us from it. He loves us too much to see us constantly crushed under the weight of what we can never bear.

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO REMEMBER THAT HE IS GOD AND WE ARE NOT! GET STILL AND SMALL. LET GO OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND LET GOD DIRECT YOUR LIFE. HIS DIRECTIONS ARE THE BEST DIRECTIONS.

THE POWER OF PENTECOST

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

It is time to declare the dry bones of your life to come to life! Give those places to Me and I will pour the rain of My harvest and saturate them until they overflow.

THE POWER OF PENTECOST

There are three specific seasons where God Almighty said, “If you stop what you’re doing and seek My face, there will be an open window of heaven.” Seasons in the Bible are all about prophetic appointed times.

While we western Gentiles have been led to believe these seasons, marked by feasts, are Jewish property only, get this – they’re not!

There are three times God said we can find Him in a much more accelerated time than others: Passover, Pentecost, and the Feast of Tabernacles. Today we’re going to focus in on Pentecost.

The Feast of Pentecost happens 50 days after the Feast of Passover which is at the time of the barley harvest. Also called the Festival of Weeks, Pentecost is celebrated during the wheat harvest.

“Celebrate the Festival of Weeks with the first fruits of the wheat harvest, and the Festival of Ingathering at the turn of the year…” – Exodus 34:22

Pentecost is all about the Spirit of the Living God in your life so you are infused by the same resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead. That’s what Pentecost is all about. If you’re somebody who doesn’t want to live a powerless life, you need a Pentecost harvest.

Break up the fallow ground in your life or ministry. Get committed and you’ll experience one Kingdom win after another until you have the harvest of empowerment that comes with Pentecost.

If you’ve never operated with of the gifts from the Holy Spirit, never seen miracles, never had a dream or vision, never seen somebody healed, never heard God speak in a radical way – my friend, if you want these things, you need a Feast of Pentecost harvest.

Go after it. Find the dead, dry places in your life or ministry and call that ground His. Break it up so you can sow and water seeds for the Lord of the Harvest. He wants to bring power to your life. How bad do you want it?

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO GO AFTER THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. GET READY FOR A FEAST OF PENTECOST HARVEST IN YOUR LIFE.

THE SMELL OF SMOKE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

You are the righteousness of Christ. When shame is heaped on you, give it to Jesus. He is glad to take it away because He already paid for it – it’s His! Know that you don’t smell like smoke, not one little bit!

THE SMELL OF SMOKE

I have a deep respect for firemen. While they pull people out of all kinds of dangerous situations, it’s their willingness to run into a burning building for the sake of a stranger that blows my mind. It takes a special person to do that. It was true in Jesus’ day as well.

Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. – Romans 5:7

The Bible tells us it takes a rare person to lay down their life for the righteous or good. Who would lay down their lives for the down and out, dirty, desperate and despicable? Liars, cheats, adulterers, murderers and thieves?

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. – Romans 5:8

The Bible tells us Jesus healed all who came to Him. That means all. He healed hands He knew would be used to steal and to destroy, eyes that would lust and feet that would run away from Him. Jesus healed with no strings attached because the book says, “He had compassion on them.”

It’s the same with His brutal beating and death on the cross. He died for all sinners – gossips and mass murderers alike. All means all because He has compassion on us all.

However, there is a string attached. It’s not attached to deny us something. It’s attached to give us something we don’t deserve – eternal life in heaven as a member of God’s family – joint heirs with our brother Jesus.

When it comes to saving you and me, Jesus is not afraid of the fire. Remember, in Daniel one “like a son of God” joined Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego in Nebuchadnezzar’s fiery furnace.

While the strong men who tied their hands behind their backs and threw them in were incinerated, Jesus walked in the fire with these three Hebrew slaves. They not only emerged with the ropes of bondage burned off, they didn’t even smell like smoke!

It’s my hope that we demonstrate the heart of Jesus and become Holy Ghost firefighters. Run into the flames of people’s burning lives and drag them to Jesus! He will burn away the things that bind. Just so they won’t feel shamed, He even makes sure they don’t smell like smoke!

“This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.  – John 15:12-13

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO RUN INTO THE BURNING MESS OF A LOST PERSON’S LIFE. OFFER THEM A SAVIOR AND BE THE HERO GOD MADE YOU TO BE! AND GOD BLESS YOU FIREFIGHTERS!
