ENJOY THE MANNA
I am moving you out of survival mode and into warrior mode! Let go of the old and embrace the new! Resting in Me is a powerful weapon against the enemy.
ENJOY THE MANNA
The Wilderness has some really cool lessons. Like the awesome thing that happens every day for 40 years after the Exodus – when God’s people wake up, there’s food on the ground.
That would be a game-changer for me! The people would pick it up and eat it, but they were not allowed to gather two days’ worth, except for the day before the Sabbath. The lesson here? You don’t get to plan past the day in front of you when you’re learning to rely on God for your provision.
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I am about the rain bread from heaven for you, and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in my law or not…” – Exodus 16:4-5
Yup, there’s a stage you go through where God doesn’t let you make plans for the far-off future. You just have to learn to live within the day you’re in. With Him and yes, it’s a test!
To pass, you’re supposed to grow up and get past the, “I just need to survive the day” stage. It doesn’t mean you’re weak if it takes a while. You get to move forward when you learn to value the presence of God more than you value the thing you had.
That’s when the Spirit actually displaces the enemy within your life, and I love that. Once that enemy thought process, situation, relationship or habit is displaced, you cross another Jordan River and there’s your Promised Land!
Are you surviving in the Wilderness? A better day is coming for you! When you learn to let Him provide while you enjoy His presence, you’ll find yourself taking steps into places you never thought you’d go! For now, enjoy the manna!
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO LET JESUS DISPLACE SOME ENEMIES IN YOUR LIFE. HAVE A VALUE FOR GOD’S PRESENCE.

SOMEBODY LESS
When you feel weakened and weary from this life, know this; in all the ages there has never been another you. I created you for now; simply add my super to your now, and experience the super-“now”-tural.
SOMEBODY LESS
The Bible says when the angel of the Lord showed up to Mary and said, “Hail Mary. You’re blessed,” Mary “cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.” In other words, she thought he had the wrong address.
She was probably thinking, “This angel thinks I’m blessed and highly favored. He’s talking to the wrong person. Does he see me or my circumstances? This is going to be bad.”
It’s just like that with you and me. When you first decide to break ground in your soul, He begins to show you His heart for you in that area. When He shows up, you’ll think He’s mistaken you for somebody else. Here’s the truth: You are mistaking you for somebody less.
Why? Because you don’t know you like He knows you. God sees the redeemed version of you. He knows the you that’s going to be in Heaven forever and ever and ever. He knows that you.
Father God always deals with us in future-present tense, not according to our history, but rather according to our destiny. He’ll start telling you some crazy stuff like you are blessed, a natural learner, a leader, a prophetic voice, a mighty man of valor or a handmaiden of the Lord.
Are you ready to hear those things? Can you walk in the promises and favor He’s offering. Plow up the hard, fallow ground of that place you’ve kept from Him. As you soften that field, be prepared to discover who you really are.
This is what the Lord says to the people of Judah and to Jerusalem: “Break up your unplowed ground and do not sow among thorns. – Jeremiah 4:3
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO KNOW YOU’RE GOD’S FAVORITE. YOU ARE NOT SOMEBODY LESS. HE SEE’S YOU AS YOU WILL BE, NOT AS YOU ARE.

SOMEDAY MY PRINCE WILL COME
I have purchased you back to me with a great price – the blood of My Son. Treasure the deposit of this transaction I’ve left inside you – My Holy Spirit – the Comforter, Counselor and Spirit of Truth. He will remind you of all I have said.
SOMEDAY MY PRINCE WILL COME
Snow White said it first, and all Disney princesses have repeated her hopeful melody with the words, “Someeday, my prince will come.”
Well ladies and gentlemen, the Prince of Peace has come and, while many of us miss that today, even those Jesus Himself lived closest to just didn’t get it.
Look at the disciples when Jesus told them they needed to go to Bethany because their friend Lazarus was “asleep.” One of the disciples retorts, “Well if he gets to sleep, he does well” meaning “At least somebody here is getting some sleep because we’re not!”
The disciples are just so thick-headed sometimes. Why would they walk all that way because Lazarus was taking a nap?
Then Jesus said to them plainly, “Lazarus is dead. And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, that you may believe. Nevertheless let us go to him.” – John 11:14-15
It’s pretty clear here that Jesus has a miracle up His sleeve, but those closest to Him missed it. Then Martha misses it as Jesus shows up and not only says, “Your brother will live again,” but drops this huge hint right in her lap:
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” – John 11:25-26
Missing it that Jesus is God RIGHT NOW, that He has the power to raise the dead RIGHT NOW, Martha says, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” What?!? She’s saying, “I know you’ll be powerful someday, just not today.”
Someday my prince will come! Well, they didn’t have to wait until some other day because Jesus was fully man and fully God right then, just as He is today. Not only did He physically raise Lazarus from the dead 2,000 years ago, He raised you and me from the dead spiritually today – bought and paid for by His sacrificial death on the cross.
Don’t miss it! Jesus is powerful TODAY and you have the same resurrection power living in you. It’s called the Holy Spirit and Jesus Himself called Him “another.” Another what? Another Jesus – God in us!
TODAY IS A GREAT DAY TO KNOW YOUR PRINCE HAD ALREADY COME AND HIS NAME IS JESUS!

RIPE FOR THE PICKIN!
Whenever a friend helps you, you appreciate the difference it makes, right? So do I. Let’s see what we can do together to make a difference, friend!
RIPE FOR THE PICKING!
God not only expects a harvest out of this church, He expects a harvest out of each of us. What kind of harvest, you ask? Fruit.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. – Galatians 5:22-23
God expects a harvest out of your marriage. You heard me. He expects to see the above fruit in the covenant you made with your spouse. It’s a testimony to Jesus and to your love of Him as well.
God expects a harvest out of your family life as well. I know this can be tough, especially as kids can rebel and go their own way. But if you’re walking in the fruit of the Holy Spirit, God will move in them. That’s a harvest.
God expects a harvest out of your thought life. Why? Thoughts become words and words become actions. Glorify Jesus with your thoughts. Have the mind of Christ and think of things that are excellent and praiseworthy. Pretty soon, you’ll be acting excellent and praiseworthy.
To have a harvest, you have to plant a seed. You have to water it. Are you planting seeds in your relationships? Are you feeding them and caring for them with love, joy, peace and patience so you can present Christ with a harvest of goodness? Be intentional. Put in the work.
If you labor over your relationships at home, your family will be ripe for the picking. So will the lives of those watching you.
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO WORK ON YOUR MARRIAGE AND FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS. YOUR TESTIMONY IS THE FRUIT GOD NEEDS TO DRAW OTHERS TO HIM.

TABERNACLE WITH THE LORD
As you tabernacle with Me, I will extend your tent pegs. The more of Me you have, the more space I take, and the more I will need to extend your tent pegs. Press into Me and see how I will expand your home front.
TABERNACLE WITH THE LORD
Seasons are prophetic appointed times. Seasons are a big deal to God.
There are three specific seasons where God Almighty says, “Stop what you’re doing. Seek My face during this special time and I’ll speak to you. We can have intimacy, you and I.”
In the Bible, those seasons are marked by a feast and there are three feasts where God said He is most willing to be found – Passover, Pentecost and the Feast of Tabernacles. I really like the Feast of Tabernacles.
The Feast of Tabernacles is all about the manifest presence of God in your life. It is at the end of the Hebrew year – October – during the fruit harvest. The Feast of Tabernacles is where God says, “I’m here. I can’t be denied, I can’t be ignored.”
If you wake up in the morning and are not aware of God’s presence, you need a harvest. If you live your whole life and you just can’t think God thoughts because you’re so messed up, you need a harvest. If you want to live a life where Jesus is everywhere you go, you need a harvest.
See, if you tabernacle with the Lord, when you think about your past and go to those memories and painful places, because you’re staking ground in Him, you can meet Jesus in those places. Where you couldn’t before, you can now.
If you need that – to tabernacle or live in Him because He’s the only boat that floats – you need a harvest. Go after it because these feasts are not just for the Jews. They are for Kingdom people because they’re not Jewish feasts. They are Kingdom feasts. You and I can get in on the action.
Want a harvest of goodness you can present to the King of Kings? Tabernacle with Him. Go after it. His manifest presence is the reward.
‘Indeed, your threshing will last for you until grape gathering, and grape gathering will last until sowing time You will thus eat your food to the full and live securely in your land.” – Leviticus 26:5
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO ACKNOWLEDGE GOD IN YOUR LIFE. MAKE YOUR HOME IN HIM AND ABIDE IN HIS PRESENCE.

UNEQUALLY YOKED
The Lord has invited you to partner with Him in a way only the two of you can do together. Continue to ask, seek and knock while praising Him for joining you.
UNEQUALLY YOKED
In 2 Corinthians, Paul saw a problem with the Corinthian believers. They were unequally yoked and that was a very bad thing. In fact, God doesn’t like it when His kids are hooked up with people or thought patterns that pull them down.
To be unequally yoked is to take two oxen, one strong, the other weak; one old, the other young; one domesticated, the other wild and you put them in the same yoke, or harness, expecting them to partner for a positive outcome. Only problem is, they will not partner.
One will always pull harder, out of alignment or just plain lead the other astray. They will fight each other and your battle will not be with plowing your ground. It will be about these two opposing forces.
When you’re unequally yoked, you fight the wrong battles. When you partner with the wrong things, you wear yourself out. You cannot progress.
Instead of partnering with the enemy, partner with the Holy Spirit. Yes, make some tough decisions about the company you keep, the thoughts you think and the ways you let the enemy into your Promised Land.
Kick them out! Declare them ripped out by the roots in Jesus’ name then don’t look back. So what do you need to unyoke from?
For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God, as God has said, ‘I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God. and they will be my people. Therefore, come out from among them, and be separate,’ says the Lord. – 2 Corinthians 14-17
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO KICK THE ENEMY OUT OF YOUR PROMISED LAND. PARTNER WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT FOR ALIGNMENT AND PROGRESSION.

TESTIFY TO LOVE
Whether you understand it or not, you are an overcomer. God is writing your story. Use it to overcome fear and doubt in the lost and hurting. You are a powerful witness and Jesus has your back!
TESTIFY TO LOVE
The Bible says you and I are overcomers. How do we get that way? Revelation says it best.
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. – Revelation 12:11
See, your testimony is your personal experience with the Lord. It’s an accounting of all the places He’s been with you and the hell you’ve taken Him through. It’s a record of the many times He’s saved you, turned you around and used you to bring the Kingdom of heaven to earth.
Just like you testify, or witness to something in a court of law, your testimony is the truth of what you’ve seen, heard and experienced about Jesus. And that testimony is powerful.
It is hope to the hopeless. When you tell them how God took mourning and gave you joy, they can believe in a good God.
It is peace to the restless. When you testify to a changed heart and fresh way of thinking, they will thirst after righteousness.
It is healing to the hurting. When you witness about His saving grace, the lost will be found and the dead will be raised to life.
Not sure what to say to that stranger? Afraid of rejection from your family or friends who need Jesus? Fear not! Just tell them your story and let Jesus use it to overcome their objections and doubts. How? With the blood of the lamb. Remember, it takes the blood of the lamb and the word of your testimony to overcome a skeptical heart. Jesus, not you, is responsible for the outcome.
It’s comforting to know God didn’t ask you to be a public speaker or evangelist. He asked you to be a witness to His impeccable character and unending love.
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” – Acts 1:8
Tell people how Jesus rescued you and changed your life in miraculous ways. The gates of hell cannot prevail against the truth of God.
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO TESTIFY TO LOVE. BE A WITNESS TO A HURTING WORLD THAT JESUS IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. HE’S MIGHTY TO SAVE AND WILLING TO DO SO.

THE RIGHT BATTLEFIELD
Put everything you’re involved in right now down at the feet of Jesus. He will tell you the things He’ll handle Himself and the ones He wants to help you with as you seek Him.
THE RIGHT BATTLEFIELD
Alignment for assignment is all about fighting the right battles.
Open Door Church is called to fight the battle of poverty and hunger through our food bank and homeless outreach. We are called to fight the battle for freedom from slavery. We do that through Answer International. We are also called to give orphans a new family name – Christ-ians – through our SPARK Worldwide orphanages.
There are a lot of other great things out there – Kingdom things – that we could be involved in. However, we would be out of alignment because we were not specifically called to do those things. When I say called, I mean God has placed a holy hatred for that thing in my heart as the pastor and in our hearts collectively as a congregation.
I don’t want to fight the wrong battles. That never ends well because God didn’t give me the grace to win on that battlefield.
It’s easy to be fascinated with things that are not your assignment. Ministries other people or churches are doing and doing well are their assignment. Don’t go coveting what they have. Why? Because God has a personal, specific purpose for you.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. – Ephesians 2:10
Yes, your purpose is yours alone. Line up with it and leave your hands off the good things others are doing!
So what is your assignment? What has God put before you and given you grace to conquer for His Glory? If you don’t know or aren’t sure, ask Him for a word of confirmation. Let Jesus show you how He wired you to win the war against Satan.
