FAN OR FOLLOWER?
God is making evident how to count the cost. Are you willing to pay the price? Remember, the Kingdom rewards are worth it! It’s time to make a move!
FAN OR FOLLOWER?
There is a big difference between followers and fans. Fans have to be entertained in how they know Jesus. Followers are required to pay a price because they follow Jesus.
“Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me.” – Mark 8:34
Be sure that you’re not just a fan, but an actual follower of Jesus. Followers know the truth because the Truth – Jesus – has set them free.
After defining King Jesus as truth, truth is articulated by defining ‘what’s real’ and what is ‘on target’ with the King and the Kingdom. The Kingdom is simply this: where the King has dominion. When you see something that doesn’t look like the King has dominion, it isn’t true!
No matter how dramatic it is, no matter how many magazine covers or newspaper articles are devoted to it, it doesn’t matter how many brilliant headlines shout that something is real, it’s not truth.
I recently had someone ask, “Hey Troy, how many orphanages do you plan to build?” Well, how many orphans are there?
If we have the opportunity to help abandoned, desperate, starving people, why would we not help? Because the truth is, fans don’t help. They applaud. They like the Facebook post then gulp down their Starbucks while “doing their part” by clapping for our efforts.
Reality check! Fans don’t get dirty. They don’t have their hearts broken, their wallets emptied or their reputations trampled by a mob that says anything done in the name of Jesus is bad.
Followers pay the price. If you have the opportunity to love, bless and encourage people into the Kingdom for eternity, do it. Being uncomfortable for a short while is a small price to pay for the eternal reward of not showing up in heaven alone.
“And whoever does not bear his cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower does not sit down first and count the cost, to see if he has enough to finish it?” – Luke 14:27-28
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO PAY THE PRICE. DON’T BE A FAN! FOLLOW JESUS INTO THE FIGHT FOR SOULS AND SET PEOPLE FREE WITH THE TRUTH.

A WARRIOR SPIRIT
Don’t be deceived! You are more than you see in the mirror. God calls you a mighty warrior – a conqueror who makes the devil cower and flee. Send him packing to the pit of hell. Bring goodness into all situations and point to Jesus!
A WARRIOR SPIRIT
Don’t act surprised by the headlines. The Bible told you persecution is coming in America against those of us who demonstrate God’s goodness.
I didn’t say persecution was coming to America because it’s coming from within America against its own Christian community. Look at the news, social media and entertainment. Jesus’ followers are being called evildoers when we are not.
We are the white hats, the good guys bringing real hope to generations of lost people. Know this: the good guys are warriors!
The enemy and those under his dark influence need to defame Christians so he can remove any influence we have over the culture. Though it’s hard to endure, this is part of the end times agenda and it is necessary. Why? Because true Christ-followers need to be set apart from the world. We need to look and act different so people can choose!
As the time of Jesus’ return draws near, people will be deceived. The devil likes to substitute the truth for a lie and that lie, the Bible warns, is that the world will call good “evil” and evil will be called “good.”
It’s already happening. Soon, the world will straight-up hate good and love evil. What should you do? Hide in your home to protect yourself and your family?
Huge mistake! You and I are called to fight for the souls of those who hate us and “spitefully use us.” Step up your efforts to love people into the kingdom! The battle is at hand! War is upon us so lock and load your spiritual weapons.
And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.” But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers , those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. – 1 Peter 3:13-16
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO FEAR NOT. YOU’RE CALLED TO SET CAPTIVE FREE SO DEMONSTRATE GOODNESS AND PULL THEM TO SAFETY IN JESUS’ NAME!

COMMIT TO THE CROP
I will never leave you nor turn My back on you. In the same way, don’t turn your back on others.
COMMIT TO THE CROP
When it comes to the harvest, you must stay committed. You will not fall out or lose focus. God expects a crop of believers pulled from hell’s thresher.
If you signed up to teach Sunday School, don’t think of ways to get out of it because it’s time-consuming. Mentoring a new believer? Don’t give up because schedules or personalities clash. Find a way! Serve. Love. Testify. It’s what we do and we don’t give up when things get inconvenient or uncomfortable.
Just as important as being committed, you need to stay in your own plot of land that God Almighty has given you, whether it’s one acre or 100,000 acres. Do not look at your brother’s plot and say, “He’s more fruitful than me. I want a crop just like that.”
“Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land which I give to you , and reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest.” – Leviticus 23:10
Get your eyes off someone else’s ministry. The ministry God gave you is uniquely tailored for your strengths, talents, time and placement. You stay committed to it. Have lots and lots of Kingdom wins and give your High Priest the biggest harvest of souls you can.
There are days when things happen. There are days you don’t feel good, but you can’t run off. The enemy doesn’t like you sowing seeds and he really hates you pouring water on your fields because it puts out his flames. He doesn’t want Jesus to get a harvest. He will oppose you.
Defy the devil! Stay committed until there is a harvest. It really is that simple.
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO COMMIT TO YOUR MINISTRY WITHIN THE CHURCH AND YOUR MISSION OUTSIDE THE CHURCH. DON’T HAVE ONE? ASK GOD AND HE’LL SEND A PURPOSE YOUR WAY.

PUNISHMENT VS. PROVISION
I Am a good Father who loves to dote on His children. Providing all you need is My divine pleasure. How it hurts when you turn away from My hand to do things your own way. My ways are not your ways. They are much higher. Seek My ways.
PUNISHMENT VS. PROVISION
Nobody escapes the wilderness. Not only that, we all go through our own wilderness experiences. Because it is harsh, we think it’s where God sends you when you’re in trouble. It’s not.
When Jesus was baptized by John, He came up out of the water and God pronounced how happy He was with His son. He said, “This is my Son in whom I am well pleased.” Then, the Bible says “immediately, the Spirit led Him into the wilderness.”
The wilderness is a harsh environment that can destroy the unprepared. That’s not you. Because you find the majesty of God in that place, the wilderness is your game changer.
It is so important when you and I have our wilderness experiences – when we’re in the scary places life sends us – that we’re the kind of people who find God’s presence in those ugly environments and come out changed.
Every trip I’ve taken, I’ve asked God to let me come out of there changed and He changes my life every time. I know the Lord meets me in new places. I know He’s waiting for me in ugly, dangerous places. He will get me through it.
When you come out of slavery to sin, death and satan, and learn to live with God, that’s the wilderness. It’s hard because, in the wilderness, you don’t depend on yourself. That would be easy. You learn to depend on God for your provision, identity, our purpose and promise. That’s hard.
Going through a wilderness in your relationships, finances, ministry, parenting or job? Know that God wants dominion over that part of your life. Remember, the wilderness is not about punishment, it’s about provision. His, not yours!
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. – Philippians 4:6
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO TRUST GOD WITH THE DIFFICULT PARTS OF YOUR LIFE. LET HIM PROVIDE ANSWERS AND DELIVER YOU. IT’S WHAT HE DOES.

THE NEED TO KNOW
Enter God’s gates with thanksgiving. Enter His courts with praise. Enter His Holy Place by your covenant which is through the blood of Jesus. He is calling you into His secret place even now.
THE NEED TO KNOW
Covenant is the only thing that causes God to respond to you. What???
It’s true. God does not respond to your pain, poverty, power, riches, or cries for help. He responds only because He promised to when He created you, and again when He redeemed you. Yup, He owns you!
Are you in covenant with God? If you are, your thoughts are not of your own glory, but of His. Covenant is a wonderful thing and there are certain things you can know when you have a covenant mentality.
1. You have a place to go no matter what.
2. You have help in times of need.
For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. – Hebrews 4:15-17
The place you are always welcome is the throne of grace. It is the most holy, powerful place. When you are at the throne, you also have access to the King Himself. Wow!
In biblical times, families and tribes established covenants as an alliance against enemies. If I were in covenant with you, then I am attacked, I can expect your help based on our covenant. It’s the same with God.
Because of His covenant, you should know God is going to help you fight your battles, bear your burdens and meet your needs. If you have a covenant mentality, you do not doubt God in your time of need. You will refuse to allow yourself to think He has abandoned you!
Why? Because a covenant mentality gives you hope! Hope, no matter what, that your ally, your friend, will come to your aid.
Do you have hope through a covenant mentality that you are God’s and He is yours? If you don’t, study what covenant is. Talk to God and get the matter straight. You won’t regret it.
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO KNOW GOD KEEPS HIS PROMISES TO THOSE WHO ARE IN COVENANT WITH HIM. HE WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU. DON’T ALLOW YOURSELF TO EVER THINK OTHERWISE!

A TIME TRAVELER’S LOOK AT THE CROSS
Today is the day to serve the Lord out of your overflow. You are blessed to be a blessing. Find your area of fruitfulness, or overflow, and make a point to sow into other’s lives. God will bless you more and more in return!
TIME TRAVELER’S LOOK AT THE CROSS
I would love to go back through time and actually witness Jesus on earth. He was God in the flesh, not God pretending to be a man.
Would I be able to talk to Him since I don’t speak Hebrew? Maybe I would be an observer, a fly on the wall. If I were, I would want to see the feeding of the 5,000, and Jesus walking on water.
Calming the storm would be cool. So would watching Jesus defend the woman caught in the act. What did you write in the dirt, Jesus?
Though I would love to be there in the upper room when He walked through the wall and fulfilled His promise to the hopeless, I think I would love to be there the day He died. I would like to encourage Him somehow. Give Him a drink, help Simon of Cyrene carry the timbers – anything to ease His pain.
Oh, if I could just see the one face yelling, “Thank you, Jesus” in the midst of the many shouting for His death. I would tell Him, “You can do this! It’s not always going to be like this. This one day changes everything, Lord.”
A few years back in my prayer time, I was complaining to God about my lack of a time machine to do such a thing. “Lord I want to come and love on you when you were hurting so bad,” I said.
In an instant, in a way only God can, I felt God speak a word into my heart. “You already do and have many times.” I knew right away He was talking about Matthew 25.
“Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ – Matthew 25:44-45
Come to find out, I’ve done a lot of time traveling these past 30-plus years. What about you? Have you clothed Jesus? Have you fed Him, encouraged Him, visited Him in the nursing home, hospital or prison?
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO ENCOURAGE AND LOVE ON JESUS. LOVE ON THOSE ONLY HE LOVES AND MAKE YOUR SAVIOR’S DAY!

FEAST FOR YOUR SPIRIT
Today is the day to feast on My Word. Listen with the eyes of your heart, then open wide your mouth and I will fill it. This is a day of harvest!
FEAST FOR THE SPIRIT
To many of us, harvest time is of little consequence because our modern lives are so far removed from the actual production of crops like fruit and grain. There was a day not very long ago when everybody understood the importance of harvest.
Because we no longer have to grow our own food and we just go to the Walmart down the street, I want you to know the three principle feasts on the Jewish calendar correspond with harvest season. These are not Jewish feasts. They are Kingdom feasts. The Bible says these things belong to God and His people.
For seven days celebrate the festival to the Lord your God at the place the Lord will choose. For the Lord your God will bless you in all your harvest and in all the work of your hands, and your joy will be complete. – Deuteronomy 15:16
You may think Jews are the only ones who can observe these special times of consecration. It’s true they’re the only ones doing it, but we can too!
God Almighty created the sun, moon and stars for signs, seasons, days and for years. The feasts are special prophetic markers in those seasons, days and years.
These feasts are times when God asks us to stop what we’re doing and seek out what He is doing. It’s a heightened time of hearing His voice. Are you seeking His face and listening to Him? Make harvest a big deal because Jesus is the Lord of the Harvest, and you are His fruit!
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO COMMIT TO THE HARVEST IN YOUR LIFE. LET JESUS BLESS THE WORK OF YOUR HANDS AND MAKE YOUR JOY COMPLETE IN SEEKING HIM!

LET’S GO CRAZY!
It’s time to step out of the box that has held you captive and worship Me in a new way. Hear My whispers about what I want you to do. Don’t worry about what others think. I love to see your passion for Me. As you arise in worship, My glory will fall!
LET’S GO CRAZY!
We could learn a lesson from the tripped-out angels eternally circling the throne of Jesus.
The cherubim – often called seraphim – are crazy cool creatures with six wings, eyeballs on all four sides of their bodies and four faces: a lion, an ox, a man and an eagle. They see forward, sideways and backward, and every time they circle the throne, they see something new about Jesus.
They see what Jesus is doing right now that nobody else knows and it blows their minds. They see something Jesus is going to do in the future and they’re amazed. Every time they have their minds blown – past, present and future – they say, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty who was, who is and who is yet to come.”
It’s a good gig, and they’re loving it. They just can’t get enough Jesus. There’s an energy that comes from them circling the throne and it puts energy out into the universe. Really! It’s in the Bible.
Bet you didn’t know heaven was that fun. If you think heaven is this quiet place where there are little people who play harps, sing hymns with a piano and quietly say, “We’re just here to bless the Lord,” you’re way off base. There’s none of that.
There’s craziness going on up there – thundering, screaming and hollering and all kinds of craziness. All of heaven is going nuts for God. He’s that awesome.
Meanwhile, down here, we worry about what people think if we sing a little loud, raise our hands or, God forbid, dance around a bit. And shout to the Lord or cry out? Not in front of the kids!
Go crazy! Go nuts! This is a good gig and you should be loving it. Why? Because right now Jesus is working in your past, present and future. Working out His awesome plan for your life. Now that’s mind-blowing!
Then David danced before the Lord with all his might… – 2 Samuel 6:14
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO DANCE LIKE DAVID. GO WILD ABOUT JESUS! HE DESERVES YOUR UNRESTRAINED PRAISE SO SHOUT TO THE LORD!

BREAKING UP FALLOW GROUND
You are a plowman! I am sending you into new ground. Yes, it will seem hard at first, but with My help, you will make it ready for My harvest of fruit.
BREAKING UP FALLOW GROUND
When we Christians talk about the harvest, we assume it means saving people out of the clutches of God’s enemy, satan. Well, it does. But it’s more than that. Much more!
The harvest is the fulfillment of God’s heart toward each of us. If you don’t know what God’s heart is toward you, there’s a problem. You need to be able to live life saying, “I wonder how God sees this? What is it that God wants to happen here?”
He wants you to love and trust Him. He wants you to love your life and the people He’s placed in it. When you do, you draw near to Him. That causes you to want to serve Him in anything He asks you to. The Bible calls that “breaking up fallow ground,” which is about harvest.
You break up dry ground when you say, “I’ve never really served God in this area, but I’m going to now.” When you start walking that ground, the hardness breaks up and you can plant the seed of faith for a harvest.
He wants a harvest in places like your parenting, your job, your marriage, your thought life, your finances, your friendships. Addicted? Depressed? Angry? Plow that up!
God is going to show up there even though you’ve never had Him in that part of your life before. He starts telling you who you are to Him in that place and what He’s going to bring you to. At first, you may think He’s mistaken you for somebody else. But remember this: You are God’s favorite! He knows your name.
Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord until he comes and showers his righteousness on you. – Hosea 10:12
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO PLOW UP THE HARD PLACES IN YOUR HEART. NEED A HARVEST IN YOUR MARRIAGE, FAMILY, JOB OR FINANCES? DEDICATE THAT FIELD TO HIM AND WALK THAT GROUND!
