PARTNERSHIP, PERMISSION AND PARTICIPATION

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

The less you strive to survive and acknowledge your weaknesses, the greater My strength can work in you, and through you, so as to thrive.

PARTNERSHIP, PERMISSION AND PARTICIPATION

When it comes to the harvest, let’s get this right. The harvest is Jesus Christ ruling and reigning in a particular area of our life.

The harvest is His Kingdom come to earth in areas He did not have dominion in before. That is the harvest and it’s different for every one of us. Places you can tell He’s been there, that God is in control.

You don’t quit until you have fruit – a changed area of your life – to present to the Lord of the Harvest. You keep working until what needs to happen within your life finally happens. That might be a long, long time. You have to be OK with that.

Or you can join the mean old religious Christians and say, “If it’s a God thing, it’ll happen and if it’s not a God thing, it won’t.” Know this: God won’t transform you without your permission and participation. Amazing, I know! He wants a partner, not a pawn.

Each time you partner with Jesus to plow a field of thorns in your life, then put your hand to that plow, it’s a big win for the Kingdom. Once you’ve tackled the field of your finances, move on to your marriage, kids, ministry or job. There is always another field.

“Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! “And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. – John 4: 35-36

What areas of your life do you have to plow up and replant? Give them to Jesus and rejoice together with Him at the fruit in your life.

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO BE A WILLING PARTICIPANT IN YOUR UPGRADE. PARTNER WITH GOD TO BREAK UP FALLOW PLACES IN YOUR LIFE.

WE LIKE WEIRD

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Before I knit you in your mother’s womb, I had a plan and a place for you. You have a destiny to fulfill that will glorify Me. As you seek Me, I will reveal that destiny and bring you into alignment for your Kingdom assignment.

WE LIKE WEIRD

Believe it or not my friends, tribes are God’s idea. And I’m going to tell you something that religious people will never ever tell you: God likes your weirdness, and get this – you and your weirdness belong in the Kingdom.

Now, religious folk will say we’re all supposed to look the same, act the same, and do things the exact same way because they’re about control. Religion is a Spirit and Jesus Himself rebelled against it.

That spirit is all about control, and religious folks are like, “Whatever you do, don’t be weird. Do it our way and don’t rock the boat.”

You and your weirdness don’t belong to the world but in the Kingdom. The sad thing is, there are so many people who believe in the Lord Jesus but don’t believe there’s any place for them in the Body of Christ. They look at the Church and think, “I’m not like those people.”

Welcome to my world. I’ve felt like that all my life, so it’s strange for the Lord to make me a pastor and church builder. I’m not church-y. While I may not be church-y, I am all about the Kingdom and if you are too, you’re part of this tribe.

Are you too weird for church? Do you feel like you don’t fit in? If you love Jesus and want to rescue the lost from the clutches of the enemy, you belong in the Body of Christ.

You’re perfect for the Kingdom and you’re perfect for our tribe. Without us, you’re not all you can be and without you, neither are we. We like weird and so does your Father.

For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. – Romans 12:4-5

SEEKING HIS FACE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

You see Me as in a mirror darkly. You cannot see My face but you can know My face if you dare to seek it. Seek Me and You will find Me. I Am Good and I Am pleased with your pursuit.

SEEKING HIS FACE

It’s crazy cool that the Bible says God spoke to Moses as if He was talking to a friend. He literally met Moses in the Tabernacle – a tent in the wilderness – to talk to the brother. Though they were “face to face,” Moses was shielded from certain death by the cloud separating them.

It is possible to know the face of God without actually seeing it, but you have to do some seeking to qualify for that kind of revelation and relationship.

At His death, Jesus removed the veil, the thing that keeps us from seeing His face. The Bible says the veil in the temple, which separated the Holy of Holies from the more public part of the temple, was split in half at the words “It is finished!” Jesus wanted us to know Him personally and have access to that most intimate place of meeting.

You need to know that, somehow, King David tapped into that a thousand years before Jesus was born. King David was offered the special invitation of knowing the face of God and he leaped at that invitation. How do I know? In Psalms 27, David says something amazing:

“When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.” – Psalms 27:8

He’s saying, “Lord, you invited me to seek Your face and my heart leaped at the opportunity.”

Jesus is offering you an invitation to seek His face in a way maybe He didn’t offer to our fathers’ before us. Maybe it is exactly as the Bible says in Romans 5:20, that, “where sin does abound, grace does much more abound.”

As our nation and world begin to unravel; as things seem to spin-off and sin seems to abound so much, the Word of God says “grace does much more abound.” I believe you and I are being offered a different opportunity and I think that we need to jump on it.

To personally know Him face to face means to know Him in an intimate and powerful way, a secret way. There are a lot of mysteries in the Kingdom, but who Jesus is to you and who you are to King Jesus should not be one of those mysteries.

Do you want to see Him face to face? Accept His invitation. Seek Him and Know His face. You are made in His image. Reflect Him today.

WORSHIPPING A TABLECLOTH

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

“I the LORD, look down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God.” If you seek me, you will find me. Let us walk together.

WORSHIPPING A TABLECLOTH

I love the Shroud of Turin. This photographic negative of a crucified man burned into a tablecloth is thought to be the burial cloth of the Lord Jesus Christ. Why do they think it’s a tablecloth? Because it has wine stains all over it and because they had the last supper the night before.

Although that’s fun information, it’s not the point. The point is, from all the evidence, it looks like the Shroud of Turin is legit. If it is, it’s the closest thing we have to a picture of Jesus. While the jury debates, the shroud is kept locked away for scientific study.

Many are upset about this. I’m not one of them. You see, when they did bring it out for the public to see, people started to worship it. People prayed to it. Why do you think God buried Moses in a place only He knows about? If He didn’t, people would be worshipping his gravestone today. We love to worship idols.

In the Bible, the word for how we see Jesus is the Greek word “apokolos.” It’s where we get the word apocalypse, and no, the word “apocalypse” doesn’t mean the end of the world. Apokolos simply means “revelation” or “unveiling.” I like to say it’s a fancy Greek word for “Ta-da!”

I may think the Shroud of Turin is the real McCoy, but it’s not Jesus! It’s not something to be worshipped. If we make it into an idol, the Bible says iniquity will be visited upon us and generations of our children will worship the wrong thing. Ouch!

If that is what the face of Jesus looked like at the moment of His resurrection, it’s not what He looks like today. Today, Jesus shows up in revelations – deep and very personal revelations found in searching the scriptures, chasing after Him, and recognizing Him when He shows up in your life.

Would you know Him? If He’s not revealing Himself to you, maybe you’re not looking.

Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. – 1 Corinthians 10:13

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO GO AFTER A REVELATION OF JESUS IN YOUR LIFE. HE PROMISES TO BE FOUND BY ALL WHO SEARCH FOR HIM, EVEN YOU!

EMPOWERMENT PRINCIPLE NO. 1

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Whether you understand it or not, you are in a war. Will you remember that you are fighting from victory and not for victory? Stand firm knowing that I have already won!

EMPOWERMENT PRINCIPLE NO. 1

The Bible tells us we are laborers together with God. With this mind, let’s look at one way partnering with God empowers us to be dangerous to the enemy.

People who partner with God are empowered to be more than a conqueror. Remember, if He empowers us, that doesn’t mean He does something for us, but that He removes all obstacles so that we can do something for ourselves.

I would rather be empowered than enslaved, but that’s just me. Our nation is going to hell in a handbasket because everyone wants free stuff. Our culture is declining quickly because people do not respect how they’ve been empowered to act. They don’t mind being enslaved to the rest of us as long as they have this, this and this.

Our appreciation for empowerment is a Kingdom understanding. It would be the equivalent of me sending you to college and paying your tuition, but I can’t make you go to class. I can’t make you pass or choose your major, though I’ve empowered you to become educated.

That is exactly the state of the Body of Christ. We are so empowered and yet we act like we’re not responsible for anything. We take care of our household while our neighbor struggles in darkness. Our churches build gymnasiums while millions perish in chains. People are going to a Christ-less eternity while we refuse to be empowered, to act.

Be responsible for your empowerment. Partner with God to conquer poverty, disease, hunger, sexual slavery, racial division, depression, addiction and loneliness. Conquer hell and its demons by bringing the One True God into the battle. He’s a man of war!

For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building. – 1 Corinthians 3:9

ONE IN THE SPIRIT

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Today is the day to rebuild broken relationships. Unity is a conduit for power, and broken relationships break the flow of power. Ask the Holy Spirit how to proceed. Don’t put it off.

ONE IN THE SPIRIT

When it comes to diversity, the Church needs to have a different spirit. Can you love and bless people, and have a Kingdom agenda toward folks who don’t look or worship like you?

God loves diversity and hates division within the tribe.

While I’m talking about the races, I’m also talking about the church. The Baptists don’t like the Methodists. The Methodists disagree with the Pentecostals. The Pentecostals can’t stand the Church of Christ and the Church of Christ has to hate everybody. That’s just what we’re going to do. We’re loyal to our tribe.

Let me tell you this: you can be loyal to your tribe without hating the other tribes. There’s nothing wrong with celebrating your tribe and its traditions. Unity makes us a conduit for God’s power while division makes us impotent. Ouch!

When advancing God’s Kingdom, we need to be intentional about unity in the Body of Christ.

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement, give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus. – Romans 15:5

If you grieve the Spirit of Unity, you will always have problems with endurance and encouragement.

There are a lot of people on Prozac who can’t ever hang. They can’t get along with anybody because they have no sense of unity. Negative people, grumblers and naysayers drive wedges because they lack a spirit of unity.

OpenDoor Church, we need to have a different spirit. I declare this tribe is not going to grieve the Spirit of Unity! We will not fall out or lose focus! Our vision is clear and our assignment – to glorify the Father by bringing the lost to Jesus – is certain.

Are you with me?

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO HAVE A DIFFERENT SPIRIT THAN THE WORLD. GO AFTER A SPIRIT OF UNITY AND WATCH YOUR WALK BE TRANSFORMED!

THE SPIRIT OF CRAZY HORSE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Unity is a conduit for power. God is giving you the grace and the power to work together and overcome!

THE SPIRIT OF CRAZY HORSE

It’s a sad truth. The native tribes of North America were never united in language or purpose. Because of this, they not only fought each other to their own demise, they couldn’t stand against the Europeans moving into their land.

There is one time, however, the American Indians got together and had a great victory. The Great Sioux War of 1876. They won because a brother named Crazy Horse united several tribes. It was the only time in history, and guess what? They won!

They wiped out an enemy who needed to be defeated – George Armstrong Custer. His name speaks of his own pride. He and his cavalry fell at a place called Little Big Horn. In the Bible, Little Big Horn represents the antichrist or an antichrist spirit.

Crazy Horse had a vision to unite the tribes around him. He said he saw the Great Spirit sitting in a strange chair [throne] like the white man sits on. Indians don’t sit on chairs. A rainbow was over the throne, and out of it came lightning and thunder.

That’s right out of the Book of Revelation. He said the Great Spirit, who I believe was the Lord Jesus Christ, told him to unite the tribes and stand against that devil.

Crazy Horse went into battle – his horse decorated with lightning bolts and hailstones representing the Lord he saw on that throne. His unified the tribes, stood against evil and we remember him still today.

I pray that, in the Body of Christ, there will be leaders who have a vision to unify the multiple tribes of the American church to stand against the drama of our day.

My message to this tribe and all the other tribes out there? We don’t all have the same territory or methods, but we all have the same King. We need to recognize and celebrate that because heaven does! Spirit of Crazy Horse, rise up!

We need to unify with the tribes we can and stand together in these darkening days. Persecution is not just coming, it is here. The antichrist spirit is rising. Be a Crazy Horse!

I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. – 1 Corinthians 1:10

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO COME AGAINST THE SPIRIT OF DIVISION INSIDE THE BODY OF CHRIST. UNITE WITH THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST AND DRAW ALL MEN TO HIM.

THE BIG SWITCH

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

This is a time of transition into a new thing. Have you not heard? I absolutely love change and I want you to love it too! Search out who I am for you in this new place. As I take you higher, you will see me from a new perspective. It’s time to climb!

THE BIG SWITCH

I love food, but would I want to eat the same thing every day for 40 years? Not really. For 40 years, the children of Israel didn’t eat anything but manna and quail. They all got tired of it. They grumbled but they ate. For 40 years.

It took them a long time to learn to trust God. Once they understood, the first thing they did when they got to the Promised Land was raid someone’s garden.

And the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten some of the produce of the land, so that the Israelites no longer had manna. – Joshua 5:12

The manna ceased. Can you imagine for 40 years, there was a certain way something worked? For 40 years, you had something to count on – it was there every time? I wonder what they thought when they woke up and there was no manna on the ground.

Maybe they thought it would come back tomorrow, but it didn’t. God just said, “Switch!” He’ll do that with you, you know. If you’re going to leave the old thing, God says, “Behold, I do a new thing. Can you wrap your head around it?”

With every upgrade comes a whole new way of relating to God, of experiencing God – of Him providing for you, and speaking to you. Are you going to rely on your methods or are you going to rely on Jesus? If you rely on your methods, you’ll go back to the wilderness to relearn that lesson.

I don’t want a trap door to fall out from under me! I don’t want to fall back into the Wilderness. If that’s you, get with the program! God will change your thinking, job, friends, church – even the place you live to get you on the same page as Him. Embrace the big switch! It’s your gateway to the Promised Land.

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO EMBRACE THE MAJOR CHANGES GOD HAS FOR YOU. TELL HIM, “BRING ON THE BIG SWITCH!”

WANT A HARVEST?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I’ve given you a field as your circle of influence. Prepare it by plowing into it, sowing, watering, and eventually harvesting it. I love watching you work the field. As it fills, I will expand your territory.

WANT A HARVEST?

The harvest doesn’t just happen and it definitely doesn’t happen because you are saved. The harvest isn’t guaranteed, yet the harvest is expected by God.

The responsibility for the harvest is not in Father’s camp. It’s in your camp. You have to be intentional about your relationships and your purpose.

The Lord might say, “There sure are a lot of weeds and a bunch of rocks in your harvest field. I noticed that you never plowed it, and I noticed you’re not committed to my harvest. Do you want one?”

You need to ask yourself that. Do you want to see a harvest?

Do we want to see unredeemed parts of our life become redeemed? You say, “Wait a minute. I’m saved.” You may be saved, but that doesn’t mean your whole life is walking in redemption. Your body is dying right now because it’s not fully redeemed.

Is your marriage fully redeemed? Your family life, job or finances? Plow up those places where the ground is hard. Throw out the rocks with prayer and pull up the weeds with praise and thanksgiving. Go after a harvest in the areas that need redemption.

You know what they are. If you have a relationship with the Lord of the Harvest, set up a tent in His presence. Grab onto His power and let Him redeem that fallow ground so something good can grow.

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. – Matthew 9:37
