A hanger on the tree.
It’s December. As with all Decembers that have come before it, I seem to be way busy. I’m sewing and trying to write and shopping—it’s amazing how Christmas can turn the most unshopperlike among us into buying fools—and trying to write and thinking of baking and…did I mention trying to write? As far as the baking goes, it’s one of those things where I like the idea and the end product better than the actual doing of it. Kind of like, somet...

Two Days of Doing Nothing
I've been sick for the past two days. Splitting headache and stomach problems. I had to miss the past two days at work. At first I thought I could at least add some words to the new wip. But they wouldn't come. I couldn't concentrate. So I spent the past two days doing pretty much nothing.
Grandson and daughter came over for a couple of hours. He's walking now! But after falling into the coffee table twice, I had hubby and SIL move it to another room. He wasn't hurt. I think our reaction scar...

Ho-ho-how do you know?
You know how I know it's Christmas? Nope, not by the calendar date. Nope, not by the crowds in the stores, the tree decorated in our living room or the presents wrapped up underneath.
I know it's Christmas because I went to see The Nutcracker over the weekend. We (bebe, MIL, me) trekked out to see it (we left RadioMan at home watching football), and while it wasn't a professional (meaning the Kansas City, Cleveland, Chicago or whatever Ballet) performance, the dancers were all trained, a...

Heya, WordWrangler readers! It's out pleasure to put the spotlight on Autumn Piper today! Autumn is celebrating her latest release - Trouble Won't Wait. Autumn, take it away!
Hi. Thanks for having me.
Q: What do you get when you cross a snowman and a vampire?
A: Frostbite.
Very small laugh? I was so excited to see Word Wranglers on my blog tour (set up through Buy the Book Tours—and I’m so happy I used them, by the way!). After all, I know some of the Wranglers, and...

My Obsession
I am addicted to Legos. This picture is just a small representation of my obsession. I have a couple of kits I haven't completed and bins of sorted legos. When Jordan was in grade school, I bought her a bunch of the Harry Potter Legos for Christmas and then proceeded to put them together, because she wasn't doing them fast enough. And then--oh the shame--She had to ask to play with them.
For our 28th anniversary this year, my husband got me a Toy Story set. Yeah, skip the jewels for me, I...

The Freedom to Dream
What do you see in this picture? I see a bird flying at the bottom right of the moon. So what, you ask. It's kind of blurry and not very distinct. But for me, that's the beauty of the picture. That it is kind of fuzzy. It gives my imagination room to run. I can decide if that's an eagle, a dove, or a dragon. And if I let my imagination go, I can think of all kinds of stories.
I could come up with half a dozen without even trying...
1. It's a giant eagle that guards a kingdom.
2. It's a shape-shi...

It's about respect.
I attend a couple of writers’ groups and I really enjoy them both. The other writers are interesting and it’s fun to be with people who talk the same peculiar language I do. Like in any collection of writers, some are better at their craft than others. In one of the groups, we have monthly writing prompts and we read our work aloud. We’re also free to bring other work and ask for critiques or any other form of help we need. It’s a friendly group. One of the men—I’ll call him Ted—attends with h...
